Chapter 1 – The Sad Life Of Matthew Kingstone
This is my first fanfic so please ignore any errors. Most of the ideas here are from other writers here not trying to steal your work. Miraculous Ladybug belongs to Thomas Astruc. This is not a fake, burningember017 is not coming back again.
"In the beginning, there was nothing but silence… boring silence and misery. Everyone turned to crime and the occasional thrill seeking to fill the void in their soul, until a scholar who lived in his mother's basement made… a TV show. Fascinated, people created shows, movies, cartoons, reality shows! But it wasn't enough until an old lady saw the prophecy of the one and only…FANFICTION!
It was glorious, inexplicable, genius, fun! People got addicted to it, even stopped living without fanfiction."
We zoom out to see a pale purple teenager[ish] boy with blue hair in a room reading an upside down Chinese restaurant menu."I did it!, I uncovered the truth!" he said reading some more. " Stupid earthlings, they think they are so smart. I will destroy this fanfiction and then the king will be proud of me for bringing sadness to the earthlings and he might let me marry the princess!"
"Uno- Molith III! Are you scheming again?" A person asked outside the room.
"MooOm! Leave me alone" Uno- Molith III replied.
"You'll never marry the princess if you don't talk to her… don't bother, she's ugly" His mom said.
"How dare you! She's beauty personified. You'll see! You all see… he replied angrily and jumped into a portal that showed Paris.
Ahh, Lukewarm Hills, the fresh air, bright blue sky, polluted water sources, each one reminding me of home apart from one…
" AAGGHH!"
"Nobody move! This is a robbery!" A robber in black said in the town's bank.
"Oh no! Help !" The usual sarcastic cashier replied while typing a mile per minute.
"But... I have a gun.. and.. and…"
"Never fear citizens am here to protect you" The usual super hero of Lukewarm hills – Mr.
Horrific (bad choice of name for sure) interrupted the robber.
"Mr. poop head is here to save us, yay!" The usual sarcastic cashier said as she continued typing.
"I'm no poop head but your beloved hero!" Mr. Horrific said to the cashier and the rest of the people in the bank.
"Sure" Everyone including the robber said as they rolled their eyes.
Mr. horrific just simply flew down and carried the robber to the town's jail. Such was a common sight here of people just trying to make the town interesting.. a bit(The town's history of superheroes is very weird)
But the big question is why are there super heroes around ?. It all started when a beam from God know where(Aliens) shot the Antarctic and revealed a new mineral : lenium.it was a powerful source of energy so powerful that it started wiping out all traces of magic (super let down for magicians) and paranormal activities but transferred the energy and gave people powers superpowers or gifts. The government tried hiding it but it went out of hand until 9 out of 10 people could have powers. Amazing right? , it's not. Go to a school where everyone has powers, apart from you, yeah you get the point. At least I have an all powerful family heirloom that I found in the basement (note the sarcasm).
"Matthew!, hurry up or you miss the deadline!" Matthew's sister Arline, said to Matthew
Matthew sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He had scattered black hair and brown eyes. He wore a black shirt with faded blue jeans with a black and white sneaker. "Must I really go I'm not 'special' or 'exceptional' Arline, I know you just want to meet Alya and find a cute boy to stalk or crush on".
"What I will never, you as my brother is better than friendship" Arline replied while stuffing her 'Fresh Boy Meat' kit into her brown suitcase.
Matthew dragged his black suitcase sadly to the front lawn. He saw his dad and sister checking their phones "I'm here, let's go already".
"Alright Matthew, wear the ring" James kingstone, Matthew and Arline's father said and raised his head from his phone screen and wore his sunglasses to cover his stone turning snake pupils and wore a baseball cap to cover his red hair.
Matthew reached into his pocket and brought out a black box with red inscription and a white diamond in the middle. He opened the box and carried the black and white feather and spoke to it "change".
Feathers nearby came together and surrounded the glowing orb of light "Finally, it's time you let me out child" The swallow kwami, Ennul said as he floated on the air.
"I told you dad, it's annoying and rude" Matthew said to his dad.
"He's just having fun" Mr.kingstone said as he pocketed his phone.
"But…"
"No buts, Ennul please take us to the Tranquin High School in Wave Heart Island" Mr. Kingstone replied.
"With pleasure" Ennul said as a white feather detached from his wing. It turned dark blue and entered Matthew's suitcase (Ennul is an alpha miraculous who equates and uses other bird miraculous powers along with his own). Using the peacock to create a portalling senteimonster, they immediately appeared on the front of the gigantic school.
"Okay, Matthew get your schedule and let Arline get you to your school" Mr. Kingstone said and with a wave of Ennul's wing nub, He disappeared with a poof.
"Okay Matthew, I'll get to my room and .. Alya! " Arline said and ran to the school's red minivan that was approaching the school parking lot.
Matthew sighed and looked at the gigantic school in front of him. If not for his fighting skills he would have never made it here. With his miraculous and kwami he wish he could hold in a chokehold it will take a miracle for him to be someone known far and wide just like his mom. He just wanted to make her proud no matter the-
"Hello, Mr. dreamer, back to earth Matthew!" Alya said waving her hand in front of his face stopping his monologue. She is light brown skinned girl with shoulder length reddish-brown hair with coppery tips and hazel eyes. She wore a short sleeved orange plaid shirt with a white tank top underneath with light blue jeans and white sneakers.
"Sorry.. em Alya you made it!" Matthew replied flustered with his daydream cut short.
"I came here as fast as I can, my little sisters made summer a living hell for me" Alya said "Now that we're in a new class I just hope that Chloe isn't in our class this time, she always find a way to ruin my life. She just took down my superhero blog last 3 months" Alya said sadly. "my blog!"
"Don't worry Alya I heard that she would be leaving forever because she went to Paris." Arline said trying to comfort her friend.
"P-lease, I wouldn't go anywhere now that Adrikins is coming" Chloe said to them with a laugh and her butler Jean behind her carrying her luggages. She had light honey blonde hair that was in a high ponytail and light blue eyes. She's wearing a yellow long-sleeved jacket with a white shirt with black stripes around the waist underneath. She wore a white jeans capris with a belt that has diamond studs and a white dress shoe . She wore white – rimmed sunglasses on her hair.
Meanwhile:-
In a familiar mansion in Paris:-
A young blonde boy sat on his bed holding a picture of a blonde woman. He sighed as someone knocked on the door of his room.
"Adrien. Your father wishes to see you" Nathalie, his father's assistant and secretary told him and left the room immediately with a white tablet in her hands. She wears a dark purple suit with a red turtleneck underneath. She has her dark purple-ish blue hair tied in a tight bun with a red streak running across it.
"If this is my first day of real school, then why am I not excited" Adrien thought as he left the room.
A young girl comes out of her room her phone in her hand. She had an ash blonde hair and blue eyes. She's wearing a purple hoodie with black jeans with black sneakers with a blue headphone on her neck. She was Adrien's little sister.
She walked down the stairs to see her brother, dad and Gorilla with some suitcases with around him.
"I see you've decided to come downstairs, Emma. I hope you wouldn't make me regret my decision" Gabriel said and stared at Adrien. " Adrien, make sure that your sister stays out of trouble".
"Yes father" Adrien replied. Gabriel wore a white long-sleeved jacket with a light green vest underneath. He wears a red trouser with white shoes and wears a red and white striped ascot. He has light blonde hair with blue eyes and a pair of black-rimmed glasses.
He pointed to Gorilla who nodded and took the suitcases to the black car in front of the house.
Gorilla then put the suitcases in the trunk of the car and sat down in the driver's seat.
"Gorilla will take you to the school's portalling site in Paris from there you will reach the school" Gabriel told Adrien who nodded and entered the car. Emma tried to follow suit but Gabriel stopped her. "I don't want any bad behavior, Emma. Believe me Emma if anything happens I won't hesitate to get you homeschooled again".
"Nothing bad 'might' happen trust me" Emma said as she entered the passenger's seat of the car.
At the school's reception:-
(Matthew's POV)
It was filled students that just came and those who were waiting for their friend's or so. Alya and I were waiting for Marinette with her usual box of macaroons with Nino since they live close to each other. The portalling room at the side of the reception. It wasn't much apart from the giant circular portal in the middle of the room and the sleep deprived secretary checking her laptop tiredly. The portal glowed and 7 students from London came out from it. They all left to the reception to get to their dorms; apparently they weren't new students like me. I wonder if I'll be in the same class with Emma.
(Emma's POV)
It's annoying how oblivious my brother is, there's something fishy going on with my father I just know it. He hardly uses his power(s) and when I try to find him it seems as if he just disappeared and when I placed a tracker he just goes into the basement and just disappeared. My father is acting suspicious and he starts smiling and allowed us to go to school instead. He only smiles when he thinks of mom but now he's smiling for no reason; SMILING!. I smell a fish and I won't stop till I get to the bottom of it.
We reached the portalling site; it was a small brown building with the school's symbol in front of it. I just want to go there and meet Matthew and his sister. I knew them since we were little kids and our mothers we're best friends before they...
"Emma hurry up I signed us in let's go" Adrien said as they entered the portal's room before he bumped into someone.
"Sorry I'm so clumsy...whaAaa!" Marinette said and slipped on her box of macaroons she was carrying. Adrien grabbed her before she fell.
"Don't worry about it, everyone makes mistakes" Adrien said and gave her the squished macaroon box. "Sorry, it got squished"
Marinette sighed as she opened the box "Don't worry it happens all the time". She said and stood up and dusted herself.
"Hey, I remember you!, you're the girl from that bakery" I said
"Of course, m-my name is Marinette, Marinette Dupain-Cheng" She replied flustered.
"Hey, Marinette, ...who are you're new friends?" Nino said as he entered the room
"Oh, hello Nino, these are, em what are your names?" Marinette asked awkwardly.
"We are Adrien and Emma Agreste, it's nice to meet you…" Adrien said
"Nino, Nino Lahiffe." Nino said as he shook Adrien's hand.
After the formalities, the portal opened and the four of us passed through it. One minute you where here the next you are at the other side, I saw Matthew standing with a girl I didn't recognize.
"Matthew!" I said as I ran towards him.
"Emma!" Matthew replied and ran towards me.
And the most embarrassing part; we hugged.
"Aaaawww!" everyone said. The girl that was with Matthew took a picture.
I quickly let go of him and glared at Adrien who snorted.
"Delete that picture and I'll let you live" I said in the coldest tone I could muster. She slowly backed away, ready to make a run for it.
"Sorry, Emma doesn't like getting her pictures taking" Adrien said as he put his hand on my shoulder.
"When you told me that you are going to come this year I thought you wear joking, but I see that you are real unlike the hologram last year" Arline said and poked Adrien with her finger. "Or a clone".
"Those we're good times". Emma replied, reminiscencing the past in her mind.
"Okay you guys go to your assigned dorms while I help Adrien, Matthew and Emma sign up and get their room number and schedule" Arline said and beckoned the three of us to follow her.
We left to meet a better and happier secretary. I got assigned to a nice comfy room with three roommates. Luckily, I have my classes with Matthew, it's like dream come true! Wait why am I thinking of him like his a god. It's not as if I have crush on him right?.
I sat down on my bed thinking of the hard work I had to go through to get into this school for a bed that was not even soft? At least normal public schools are better than this.
I just have to bear this, it's so unfair! Everyone has powers (apart from a few hundred people) and I just have to feel abnormal. I wonder how mom managed to bear this but she had the miraculous and knew how to use it, but it never saved her; stupid kwami. I looked at my ring what use is it?.
" So much more…" Someone whispered.
"What's that? Must be one of Ennul's pranks" I thought.
Meanwhile:-
A portal appeared in a white space as Ennul came out of it. Other portals appeared showing different timelines and places. A white portal opened and a lady walked out of it. She has red hair that became darker as it reached the tips with white bunny ears rimmed black with blue insides. She has baby blue eyes with a blue/white mask. She wore a light blue spandex with a white belly, black turtleneck and a white cotton ball. She held a white umbrella with a blue inside.
"I see you've made it" Ennul said.
"How was the trip with your holder" The lady asked as she tapped a portal.
"Short as usual. Now why did you call me here, I don't like wasting energy" He replied and floated closer to her.
"It deals with your future and your holder's too" she said as the portal played. It showed an adult Matthew giggling creepily as he spied on an adult Emma doing a photo shoot in a park.
Ennul's face paled "No.. it can't be, I made sure I …"
"Don't worry it happens in about 11 years but it will happen next 3 months we can easily correct the first but not the second one. It's Matthew, he's emotionally unstable so you know that 'he' will not waste any time in controlling him" She said cutting him short.
"I can prevent this from happening, I can remove the miracu.." Ennul replied but was cut short.
"It will worsen if you remove it or give it to someone else" she said. "you're out of time, it's almost daybreak. We'll talk later." She said as Ennul sighed as he brought out a black feather turning it bright orange [cuckoo's power] and disappeared in a orange light. She sighed as she made her own portal and went home.
He stared at them talking about him, they think they can stop him, Ha! Fate was set in stone it was only a matter of time.
"Sir, you're chocolate milk is here!" Someone called out.
"Yay! Perfect." It said as it floated over.
First time writing I promise next chapter will be longer updates might be once a week. It is a superpower AU and slightly parodic. I'm a bit rusty but I'll try to write a bit better. Flames out!.
