Sendai.
After the fight with Natsume, all of the Phantom Thieves members are exhausted. After the change of heart, and the meeting with Zenkichi, they are going to go to Hokkaido tomorrow for another target suspicious of manipulation through EMMA app.
Well, most of them are asleep.
Moonlight shines through the windshield of the RV that they rent for their trip around Japan. In the seat, sit a young girl with black and white attire, tapping her phone.
"Ren, you still awake? Can I bother you for a minute?"
Makoto sent the message to his boyfriend, Ren Amamiya through her dimly lit phone.
"Yes, I am awake. Sure, I'll go down."
Ren, after reading the message from his girlfriend, then proceeds to get up. He was lying around in a small, cramped tent with Yusuke, Ryuji, and Morgana.
Well, it's not like they wanted to, but they was forced to. It's not the RV doesn't have enough spaces for them all to sleep inside, but it is what it is.
Makoto was out from the RV first, and then proceed to go to the nearest vending machine, visible from the RV. Ren, when he just get down from the tent, proceed to go towards his girlfriend.
"What you'll be having, Ren?" Makoto offered.
"Coffe milk sounds nice," Ren replied.
"Okay,"
They both proceed to seat at a nearest bench, not far from the statue of Date Masamune.
Ren then proceed to grab his girlfriend shoulder.
"Here, let me massage you." Ren said, while massaging Makoto stiff shoulder.
"That'd be great, thank you." Makoto smiled, this gesture of her boyfriend is really appreciated, since she drive the RV all the way from Tokyo to Sendai.
"It's kinda unlike you since you can't sleep like this, something bothering your mind?"
Taking a long sigh, Makoto then replied to his boyfriend concern.
"Ren, you know, with this kind of brainwashing method that keeps coming out of nowhere. Back then it was Palaces, and now Jail?"
She took a quick pause, then continues in an exasperated tone.
"You know I am striving to become an officer of the law, so many methods to do crime, I don't even know where to begin with. It'd be very challenging road. I kind of worry if I can do my job properly and …."
Makoto keep talking, sharing her insecurities with his boyfriend.
Ren keep massaging Makoto, staying by her side, listening to the thoughts that been disturbing her for a while.
"I'm sorry, was that too long ?" Makoto just realized she was talking too much.
"It's okay, I can hear you all day," Ren replied, in which he continues,
"You know, for soon-to-be an officer of the law, you already committed quite an offense, Makoto."
"Well, we ARE The Phan.."
Ren, not letting Makoto to finish her sentence, leaning towards his girlfriend, whispering to her ears.
"You stole my heart,"
"Aww come on, you,"
She said, looking flustered, elbowing her boyfriend in response.
"Ouch. Haha, alright my Queen, it's already late now, let's head back to the RV."
"Uhm, Ren… for tonight, can you, stay with me, a little longer?"
"Well, I'm not going anywhere, Makoto."
"I'll be taking the front seat to sleep. I'd be glad if you were to accompany me, though,"
"Sleep with you?" Ren said, in a teasing voice.
"Why do you have to phrase it like that? Geez, you made it sounds so wrong." Makoto said, her faces now is red.
Ren chuckled for abit, he then continues,
"But the guys supposed to sleep on the tent, on top of the RV." Ren said, reminding the rules that the group already agreed on when it comes to sleeping.
"Aww come on, let me be selfish once in a while, it's not like they don't know we are dating anyway, and you'll be staying with me, not surrounded by the girls."
"And..." Makoto stutters.
"Aaaandd?" Ren asked,
"It's not like we have our time since you've been back to Tokyo, too much happened we couldn't even have time for ourselves..."
Ren thought, her clingy-ness is somewhat understandable though, ever since he came back to Tokyo, they have to catch up so much with their group, and then the metaverse suddenly got back, and with it, the case that Phantom Thieves need to solve, and this time, they have to cooperate with the police, too.
"Ahaha sure, I'll stay by your side, Makoto. Now, let's head back,"
Ren offered his hands to his Queen. Walking hand in hand, side by side, they heading back to the RV.
There, all the Phantom Thieves already asleep. Makoto opened the front door slowly, making sure so she won't wake anyone.
Then, the Phantom Thieves power couple sit side-by-side. Makoto pulls a blanket from the dashboard of the van, then use it to cover them both.
"You comfortable Makoto? There's enough space if you wanna lie on the seat, though."
"There's not enough space if I we both are going to lie down, though."
"It's fine, you can put your head on my lap,"
"And you are going to sleep while sitting?"
Makoto asked, looking concerned, since sleeping on that kind of position sounds very uncomfortable.
"It's really okay, you'll need the extra comfort, since you will be driving, and you won't allow me to drive, even though I can drive."
"No. No license, no driving," Makoto said firmly.
"Alright, alright."
Makoto then put her head on Ren's lap. Ren, looking at his girlfriend, caressing her faces, and playing with her hair. Rubbing it softly.
"Good night, Makoto."
"Oh, and more thing, Ren."
Makoto, places her hand on Ren cheeks, leaning in, while pulling Ren face at the same time. Their lips met. Kissing his boyfriend softly, and then smiles.
"I love you, Ren Amamiya,"
"I love you too, Makoto Niijima,"
While Ren sits on the drivers seat. Makoto sleeps on his lap. The two couple then doze off, under the moonlight of Sendai, at the seat of the RV.
In the morning...
"WAKEY WAKEY YOU LOVEY DOVEY LOVEBIRDS!"
Futaba wakes them up, in a playful, but loud voice.
"I wuv you, Wen Amamuuyiya," Ann folllowed, making fun of fheir love declaration last night.
"What the hell Ren, I thought us dude have to sleep outside of the Van!" Ryuji complained, just aware that one of the guys are missing from the tent.
"Bad Makoto, bad," Haru said, in a straight faces.
"As a punishment for violating the rules, I demand you to cook breakfast for all of us." Yusuke added.
"Oh uhm, hey guys, ehehe..." Makoto now sits, while rubbing her eyes, just woken up.
Ren, faced with a situation like this, he can only let out a small chuckle, the teasing and the jokes their friends thrown and him and his girlfriend.
Ren let out a yawn, and do some stretching.
"Alright then, I guess I'll cook. Makoto, please help me out okay." Ren said
"Oooh, oooh, a breakfast from Phantom Thieves mommy and daddy, this will be delicious. I want curry!" Futaba then added again, demanding her favorite food.
"Mom and dad, OOOH, I like the sound of that." Said Ann.
Hearing that, Makoto faces turns red, and then complaining,
"Hey, since when I start to become a mom,"
Everyone in the RV starts laughing altogether. That morning, they all eat breakfast together, and then, continuing their journey to the next destination, Hokkaido.
