A/N: Guess who is back? I hope you all didn't forget me. I really missed writing, so I just announced in Tumblr that I will write a one-shot for either KaiJul or KaneSal. Actually, during the lockdown I have changed pretty much well, but not completely either. And, KaiJul and KaneSal have become my two most favorite OTPs. I kinda like both the ships equally now xD
Oops, TyHil is my favorite too, not forgetting that. Don't pounce on me Simy di ^^'
So, I have been asked to write KaneSal because people are missing the couple so much I guess. Hahaha, then admit that I give life to the couple, believe it or not but that's the truth xD
Well, enough of talk. I will talk with you all in PMs.
Guilt-tripped~
Attention. She craved for it. For the past three months, nothing was running in her mind but attention. Attention from none, but her own husband. She felt very remorseful and neglected for these three months. She felt like she never existed to her husband. She does know about him. He is very studious, dedicated, focused and hardworking, thus without a doubt you can't expect such a man to be with her. But, he couldn't even spare a little bit of time, like he doesn't even talk properly with her. This has been going on and on for three months. He works from morning to night, comes home, eats, sleeps, wakes up the next morning, get ready and go for work and that's it! His mind was free of thoughts, but thoughts about his work just got fixated. This made him so mechanical. His wife was bound to see this happening. Yes, she saw this happening for three months. Boring, disinteresting, plain, and blunt and meanwhile, this felt very sad. Her heart was scarred.
Salima couldn't digest the fact that her husband could be neglecting her, like she was some sort of a stone for him, far beyond his sight. Salima couldn't help prevent herself from sobbing. She sniffed, wept all she could. She couldn't hold herself anymore. She can be pure, but how long could she endure this? How long could she live with a man who barely talks to her and don't give her the love she deserves? He never abused her, or ill-treated her. He has been too ignorant of her state that he doesn't do anything with her. This made her feel miserable.
The scarlet got up with a sluggish grace. Her eyes were dull and swollen. Before she got married, her parents did tell her that he would be too involved in his work. Why not? He is a Police officer after all. He is a born genius with an IQ of 200. This high level of intelligence is a blessing from heaven. So, he did divert towards such tactical field, giving his life and soul to the job, but he is soulless enough to ignore his wife.
She wiped her tears, but her cheeks couldn't get drier because tears couldn't refrain from leaving her diamond-black eyes. She sobbed. Did nothing but sobbed.
Much to her shock, she found someone spying her. Salima quickly turned her head and saw none, but her husband. Yes, her husband. At that instant, she felt guilt-tripped. Her husband has been watching her. Her eyes were widened. She panted with the final bit of her overflowing tears making her face wet. Those salty tears did stop and her face was turning dry gradually.
"You're home, this early?" asked Salima, as she shriveled.
"Yes, I had to deal with a very important case. This has been going on for three months and finally, it came to an end. Well, why were you crying for this whole time, Salima?" the blunette enquired her. He came close to his wife and held her shoulders out of concern. Salima was surprised for a moment. He'd touch her!
'He is touching me, out of gentleness….' She thought. His hands were sliding down a bit and they captured her arms. He felt her cap sleeves, but now he felt her arms which were warm and soothing.
"Salima, just tell me what happened to you?"
Her diamond pupils were fixated on his ocean blue ones.
"You were never like this. You are so weird, honey. You never bothered about me for three months because you are too studious that you were driven in your work. But, now all of a sudden you are holding me. This is strange."
Kane heaved a sigh and released his arms from her. Yes, he was guilt-tripped not only after she had the audacity to tell him, but he was guilt-tripped for three months.
"Please tell me Kane, why? You never took me out or had a comforting chat with me. Just tell me Kane."
"Just listen to me Salima. I never had the intentions of hurting you. I did say that I had to deal with a very serious case. It would have taken my life away, I mean throughout these months my life was at a risk. I neither talked with you nor had I a leisure time with you. My mind had no place for comfort. I was focused before this case could go out of hand. Thus, I took this smoothly. This did involve a goon of culprits who are insanely dangerous and unpredictable. That's why I was very concerned for you, and I'd never take you out for the sake of safety. Or I did talk properly with you because I want this to be over so that people are free from these culprits soon enough."
Salima's guilt escalated. She'd begin to cry, but Kane wiped her tears in a quick succession. He did know that she would cry again, so his hand reached her cheek.
"But Honey, why you didn't tell me a thing about this case…."
Kane responded, "Your father did tell me that you are prone to get panic attacks too often, so I refrained from telling this. If this was a normal case, I could have told you but this was very serious, involving criminal lawyers. Thus, I don't want the case to affect you even a bit, but… my ignorance did leave you remorseful, right?"
"You…. Care so much for me Kane."
"Why not, you are my wife after, all Salima."
She thought that he never cared for her at all, but internally, he was very concerned for her. This is called the "real deal love." He'd put her life over his's for all this while. He thought of not hurting her physically or mentally, but she was scarred and that made him guilty too. He'd never thought that she will be this melancholic.
"Salima, stop crying. It's my entire fault."
"No Kane, its mine."
"Mine."
"No, it's purely mine.
"However, forget it. Now that they all are over, we can be with each other from now on without any troubles."
Salima wiped her tears and smiled. Kane smiled back and held her soft hands.
"Come and sit for a while Sal."
Kane took her to the bed. Salima gently sat, closely followed by Kane. Her gazes were bent as her cheeks occupied crimson hue after crying, but it was mostly due to her love for her husband. Kane genuinely went close and looked at her in amusement. He asked her in a low-pitched yet gentle tone, "What's with that red face of yours, Salima?"
Her face turned redder. He cupped her chin and lifted her head up. Now they both were drawn deep into each other. Faces yearning for love, which they deserved.
"Just relax for some time. I will just come back in a moment."
Kane left the room. Salima heaved a sigh and laid her back against the headboard.
'I hope I and honey can have a smoother life from now on.'
The blunette just returned back with a small pink box. Salima anticipated when he approached her with a smile.
"What's that?" she asked.
Kane opened the box. There was nothing but, a silver chain with a small oval pendant, having a white diamond stone. She was delighted. Kane immediately took that and asked Salima to pull her hair for a while. She nodded her head and Kane gently attached the hook of the chain to one of the holes.
"This is not something extravagant Salima but, this is really precious. I really wonder whether you would like it…"
"No, I do love this. This looks simple but I love it," Salima nodded her head in reassurance.
"Salima, I honestly have no clue about your interests, so I just bought something which is simple yet appealing. I thought of not messing you up with buying something expensive before… um I'd know what you exactly like."
"No, I really love this. This is to give a fresh beginning to our life, honey." Kane immediately grabbed Salima for an embrace, and his maelstrom of emotions were flowing as tears. Salima smiled and cuddled her husband to his chest. He rubbed her shoulders out of love and affection. Her feigning innocence touched his heart deeply.
After a few moments of consolation, Salima asked, "Honey, don't get me wrong. If you were aware of the fact that you will be handling a serious case, why did our parents arrange for our wedding this earlier?"
"I thought the same, Salima. Your father wanted to get you married soon enough. I did ask him for some time, but he refused it. I did beg him for a few times, but he was so stubborn. He's either ask me to marry you earlier or just forget about it. So, um..." Kane scratched his head.
"So what?" Salima asked out of curiosity.
"I really couldn't refrain from marrying a woman... like you... Salima. I mean, I was touched by your gentleness right from the day I saw you so I..."
Salima's face turned completely red. She silently twiddled her fingers.
'Really? None other than my husband is my secret admirer.'
"Its not only because that you are beautiful Salima, you have the likeable personality too. I really couldn't refrain from marrying you."
Salima's gazes were down again.
"But... you could have got a better husband, right? Like, he would have given more attention to you. I was very selfish Salima, I am really sor-"
"No honey," Salima interrupted. "Falling in love for a person is never selfish. It means that your love for me is filled with loyalty. You were never selfish. Infact, I prayed to myself that you should love me and now, I feel that it's true." Salima nodded her head in reassurance. Kane smiled and pecked her forehead.
Throughout the day, the couple spent a lot of time with each other, more than even what they could imagine. They felt like they have reunited after so many obstacles which were a hindrance to their relationship, but now that they all have gone, they both can be inseparable forever.
A/N: I hope you all enjoyed this. I know it's a pretty shallow concept but I will continue to write complex stories once I get the hang of writing fics because I completely lost the flow. See, I couldn't even cross 2,000 words (Err I deleted 8 stories of mine because I felt that they weren't well written. Oops don't panic I will write more stories for replacement).
Well, so many of them wanted me to return back to FFN amidst exams so couldn't help it xD
