There will be updates for Cursed and Profiling Survival this week. I have wanted Barbara Gordon and Garcia to meet for a long time. Writing this story has been on my radar for a while, and finally decided to just post it.

Set after season fourteen. Garcia is aware that she is a TV character in another dimension. She contacts her friend, and discovers J.J.'s secret. The message causes the BAU to be sent to Barbara Gordon's dimension, where a war with the Joker breaks out. Other powers are at work, and Reid may find a new destiny.

I don't expect many people to know who anyone is in the first chapter. You can honestly wait until chapter two, when the POV switches if you want. I mainly want to show how Garcia learned J.J.'s confession.

When Hackers Meet

Sometimes members of the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit wondered how technical analyst Penelope Garcia is able to track down information so quickly. How she is able to hack into networks without being noticed and find the key piece of data that leads the team to finding the unsub just in time to save someone.

The same can be said of Barbara Gordon. Confined to a wheelchair, she is one of Batman's most trusted allies. She is a master strategist and is able to get her best associates to the right locations. Even with all her informational prowess, her friends and fellow heroes still wonder what other resources she might have that she refuses to talk about.

The answer crosses the barriers of reality. These are two women who live and breathe computer code. Sometimes they go digging into the deepest depths of the cyber information universe. And somewhere along the way they found each other.

At first, they were just two cyber hackers working late at night in their own timelines. They were both looking for random pieces of information that might help with their own "side jobs" that had little to with their regular responsibilities. They became aware they both had pieces of the same puzzle and decided to share and were able to find the answer. As a result, they decided to keep in touch by communicating in this pocket of cyber space to discuss data puzzles that no one else seemed to understand.

Over time they became comfortable enough to share more information about their identities to one another. "Baby Girl Hacker" and "Oracle" began to trust each other enough to share information relating to problems that involved less "net speak" and more physical world terms. It didn't take long for two genius hackers to come to the same conclusion: They were both from alternate realities.

Garcia was the one who figured it out first. In her version, "Oracle" was the code name for Barbara Gordon, the former Batgirl and now information coordinator for a team of mostly female vigilantes known as the Birds of Prey. In her reality this was a comic book series. Garcia was over the moon once Barbara confirmed that her suspicions were correct. But Garcia was also smart enough to keep this to herself. Who would honestly believe she could communicate to a comic book character?

It took Barbara a little longer to figure out where Garcia was from. Barbara didn't watch as much TV and it was until Dinah, The Black Canary "borrowed" one of her screens to watch a show featuring a woman wearing cutesy colorful jewelry surrounded by computer screens. It was an FBI drama about a team of profilers who tracked criminals with the help of a tech analyst based in Quantico. Barbara cursed herself for not figuring it out sooner. She decided to keep this information to herself also. She hated the idea of people learning that she sometimes sought help from a government of any universe.

Neither tried to think much about the fact that lived and worked in universes where they were considered fictional characters. They both reasoned that the world of computer codes and cyber navigation wasn't confined to one single dimension. The fact was that they were smartest tech analysts in their worlds and when they worked together, they helped people.

"Oh my god! J.J. loves Reid! That is one hell of a cliffhanger," Dinah said.

"I know," Helena said. "What are we supposed to do?"

"That doesn't seem fair," Dawn said. "J.J. is married with kids. She's not going to leave them for Reid."

"It sounds like the writers have run out of good ideas," Zinda said.

"As fun as that was," Barbara said. "We have work to do tonight. They guys were covering for us. Now we need to get back in the field."

"Yes mom," Dinah said. "I'll go take my frustrations out on some thugs."

"Word on the street, there is a new villain called the Murder Hornet," Helena said. "I'll check it out."

"I'm investigating a new racing gang," Zinda said.

"Remember you have to split your winnings," Barbara said.

"Seventy-thirty," she said with a wink.

"And I'm on a building patrol duty. The way I like it," Dawn said.

"Now fly my pretties," Barbara said.

"I'll get you, and Toto too," Dinah said she left.

Barbara went to the control room and loaded up screens. There was a messenger chat window blinking.

BGH: Tell me what J.J. confessed.

O: Nice to see you too, Penelope.

BGH: Reid and J.J. exchanged awkward looks throughout the wedding! I want to know what happened!

O: You know it is a pretty dumb plot device to make the video have no audio. I think you need a new showrunner.

BGH: This isn't funny Babs! My friends are hurting! Tell me what you know!

O: Run it through lipreading software! Leave me out of this.

BGH: I tried! J.J.'s mouth is at an odd angle. Just tell me!

O: No.

BGH: WHY NOT!?

O: Think for a moment of what this might do. You using information from an alternate reality to change the dynamics of yours.

BGH: I'm loading all the shot footage of the Birds of Prey movie to you right now.

O: DON'T!

BGH: TELL ME!

Barbara's screens began to fill with images of the movie. Candy-colored, misappropriated images of the team she built, now being led by a Harley Quin, Joker's lover.

O: GARCIA!

BGH: TELL ME!

Barbara couldn't take it anymore. The last image of Cassandra did her in.

O: J.J. confessed she loved Reid.

BGH: What!?

O: She loved him since the beginning. Now stop sending images of that damned movie!

The images vanished.

BGH: Thank you.

O: You're not welcome.

Garcia logged out. Barbara sat back in her wheelchair. What had she done?

Her building security log beeped: Teleportation request.

"Granted," she said as rubbed her forehead.

In a puff of smoke, Zatanna appeared.

"Barbara, I had a premonition, that something is coming from another dimension. I sense fear from them."

"I think the BAU is coming to Gotham," Barbara said.

"What?" Zatanna said.

"I'll explain over coffee," she said. "It's going to be a long night."
