"D-Do you have to leave?" Charlie asked.

"I don't have a choice," Maya replied. "As much as I wished to stay, I can't. Mom needs us."

"I know. I understand." Charlie stated full of frustration. "It's just... I don't think I'll get by without you. You're the only constant that I consider that I have. And now I need to start accepting the fact that you're not."

Maya bit her lips to stop herself from sobbing. She already gave up trying to stop her tears from falling because she can't. Not when she has to leave the only person that she loves outside her family.

She may be too young to take this between them as "love" but she knows that what they have is special. And when she leaves, she's not only living the place she has considered her home but also the connection she has with Charlie.

"I-I don't what to leave, Charlie. I don't!" And with that she let herself fall from the anguished and sadness, she felt from leaving. She hugged Charlie as tightly as he hugged her.

"I don't want to lose you." She muttered.

"I do too, Maya. Me too." He whispered.

And that night they slept in the one place they considered their own. The very place they promised to be each other's best friends, the very place that started everything between them, and now the very place that they said their goodbyes from one another.

They don't know when they will see each other or if they will ever see each other again. They didn't say any promises because they both know that this last meeting might be the very last meeting that they will have from one another. The last meeting that both of them will cherish with their whole existence.

After 10 Years

"He's married," Maya stated lifelessly. "Ha! I actually should have expected it. It has been so many years. It shouldn't be surprising that he already loves someone."

Someone that isn't me.

"Maya, I know you haven't forgotten what you had with Charlie. But Charlie seems happy. You can't condemn him from moving on and finding a new person to love. He deserves to be happy. You too, Maya. Move on and be happy." Mira consoles her.

I don't think I'll ever move on from him. I can't even let myself forget what I feel about him. I can't let go. I don't want to let go. But I love him too much to even try to destroy something he's so happy about. If he's happy then I'll just push myself to be happy for him. Though, I don't think I can let myself stay here in Forks while he's building his own family with another girl.

"I think, I'll take Professor Hilton's offer to roam around the Asian countries. Maybe, that'll help me from doing something stupid that I'll just regret in the end." Maya notified her older sister.

"Do that. I'll handle everything for now. The family will understand so don't worry."

Maya hugged her sister trying to find comfort and letting herself feel that she's not alone. That Mira's still there for her.

"Thank you, Mir."

"Always, my little Maya."

After 10 years

"Are you sure you're ready to go back? You don't have to if you don't want to. I can go there alone." Mira asked for the 5th time ever since Maya told her that she'll go back to Forks with her.

"Mir, I'm sure. So sure. So stop pestering me and start packing your stuff because I'm also sure that I'm not going to help you with that." Maya answered.

"Awe. Of course, you'll help me. You love me too much not to." Mira said with confidence before she kissed me on my cheeks.

"Eww...Mir!" Maya exclaimed making Mira laugh.

"Love you!"

"Hate you."

After Mira left Maya in her room she continued packing her clothes and other stuff that she'll be taking back with her in Forks.

All of their things here will be transported back to Forks. Yes, it'll be just the two of them who's going back to Forks but because Mom and Dad have their own house in Miami now if both of us leave the house will just be empty. So, it's better to just take everything with them.

While taking out some boxes under her bed something falls out from those boxes that made her stop moving. It was a charm bracelet. The charm bracelet that Charlie gave her when we were 8 years old. It only has 10 charms in it. There are two letters M and C and an ampersand between them. M stands for Maya and C stands for Charlie. There's also a little camera in there that represents how much she loves taking pictures. A little passport, a plane, and a globe represent how much she yearned to travel. The star and moon that both Charlie and she adored ever since they started to love camping. And lastly, a little treehouse that represents the treehouse they built in the woods. The treehouse that they consider their hiding place when both of them just want to escape the noises and people around them.

So, this is where she put it. She thought she lost it. She was so sad when she couldn't find it. After she found out that Charlie got married she took it off and never knew where she put it.

And that's when thoughts about Charlie appeared in her mind again. She's going to see him. Not only him but the family that he built with his wife.
