Chapter 1: A Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

"What a wonderful day it is on this beach! I wonder why Sonic never comes to Wave Ocean?"

Silver the Hedgehog was enjoying a relaxing hot day on the premier coast of Soleanna, Wave Ocean. Soleanna was known for its striking medieval architecture (Castle Town), luscious forests dotted with ruins (Kingdom Valley), its accordion players…

…and in an alternate timeline, a blue hedgehog slamming his face into rocks because he had to "speed things up."

But we don't talk about that timeline, instead let's focus on the white-furred hedgehog relaxing on the beach.

Silver was just relaxing when he hears a strange sound. This sound was like someone unzipping a zipper. He didn't know it at the time, but this is the telltale sign that a certain someone has just traveled through space and is really close to you.

Silver feels the heavy footfalls of this creature, until it appears from behind a rock formation a few hundred feet from where Silver was sitting.

The creature was at least seven feet tall, its body slender. It was mainly white, with many pink lines wrapping around its body. Its eyes where red in a sea of black, just above a defined mouth with incredibly sharp teeth looming inside. Atop its head was a fin, which extended down its back into split into two wings. Its hands and arms were quite small, with large orbs jutting out of them. It had thick legs and small feet, and it also had a tail.

It hadn't noticed Silver yet, and Silver didn't want to be noticed by this powerful looking creature. He tried his best to stay hidden.

"What is that thing? If it notices me, it is surely going to eat me," whispered the frightened hedgehog.

That small whisper caused the creature to turn its head, and teleport right to Silver, causing him to scream in fright.

"Nonononoo! Don't eat me!"

The creature tilted its head in confusion. "Now, why would I do that?" it asked in a deep and powerful voice.

Silver was taken aback by the creature's demeanor. "Uh…"

The creature interrupted, "Do not worry about it. You just have the wrong impression of me." They stuck out their small hand, "They call me Palkia, what is your name?"

"My name is Silver, Silver the Hedgehog." Silver shook Palkia's hand. Even though his hand was larger than Palkia's, he could feel the great power that emanated from their body. It is as if Palkia was a god or something.

"So um, what brings you here?"

"ME? I was just travelling through random space-rifts that I created, and it brought me here."

"Wait? Space-rifts? So, you teleported here?"

"No, space-rifts. I tore through space itself to bridge a quick and easy gap between two locations."

"How can you do that? Tearing through space requires an insane amount of energy!"

"Tearing through space is easy for me, because I'm the God of Space itself!"

"YOU'RE A GOD?!"

"I should have revealed that earlier."

Silver's mind was churning with thoughts about this once-in-a-lifetime event. I'm standing right next to a god right now. I don't want to get them pissed off at me. Silver was mainly worried on the god's views towards him. These may cause the god to just erase you from existence if you get on their bad side.

"So, you're a god? I've never heard of Palkia before."

"That's because I'm from a different world, the Pokémon world."

Silver was quick to put the pieces together. "Does that make you one of those Pokémon."

Palkia nodded. "Precisely. And that loops the conversation back around like a paradox my brother created. What brings you here to this beach?"

"Just enjoying this fine weather."

Palkia turned its gaze to the Mobian sun. "I guess you could say that. Say, want to join me on some sort of journey or something?"

Silver had to put a lot of thought in his response. Me, traveling with the God of Space from another reality? I don't have any plans for today. I worry about where Palkia will take me. What if it is someplace dangerous? Or maybe somewhere better than this beach?

Palkia interrupted Silver's thoughts. "Have you made up your mind? I have all day."

Silver came to the conclusion that this offer was not one to be passed up. "Yes, I will join you."

And so one worrying hedgehog and one god of space with a boastful personality set off through a spatial rift to an unknown place.
