School days, Time Travel and Unimpressed Nannies

Summary: The Doctor comes back like he said he would and takes Amelia to travel time and space like he promised. There was just one problem their typically late for school days and Amelia, nanny does not approval. (one-shot.)

The Doctor comes back like he said he would.

He still isn't too sure about what the voice behind the crack in Amelia room meant when it said Prison Zero has escape. Clearly, nothing good and so he takes the child far away from that scary room with that scary crack where there are no voices talking about Prison Zero and he focus on traveling instead.

They travel like he said he would. Taking her all over the galaxy, wherever she wants to and whenever. He admits looking after a kid is a bit of trouble because he tended to worry about his friends on a regularly basic. Now, he was worrying about a child and yes, River he knows it is a bad idea.

"You've taken a child with you to travel around the galaxy," River said. Soon after he catches her as she was floating in space.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Will I, made a promise."

"He was late though," Amelia said.

"Really, how long?"

"Five hours."

The Doctor tried not to winch. He's still trying to get the TARDIS to land on time.

He knows River is teasing because she has a book about his whole life. Surely, that book mention little Amelia Pond.

He takes Amelia home every now and again because unlike before she is a child. She needed to get along with human kids for a change, not aliens, human. So, he takes her back to her village and ended up meeting Rory. The kid hair is far too long and covering up his eyes, he's also a little bit slow and not really someone the Doctor approvals. However, little Amelia is friends with Rory and so the Doctor goes along with it.

"Are you really a Doctor?" Rory asked.

"Yes," he paused. "Will no. Sort of, kind of. I'm not a medical Doctor if that's what is you mean."

"If you're not a medical one then, what are you?"

He opened up his mouth and close it again mind, working overtime.

"I'm the Doctor."

Yes, let's just go along with that. Beside it normally work with both alien and human a-like. It's not working on a child though.

"I don't think you are," Rory said. "Although Amelia tells me that you are she says you're a funny man with a blue box. I'm Rory by the way. I'm going to be a Doctor one day. A real Doctor."

He can't help, but wonder if he is being told of by a kid.

"I'm sure you do just fine as a Doctor," he said.

Amelia mentioned that she has another friend to, but is currently suspend. Something about breaking glass, showing up late on time and stealing buss. Her friend won't be back at school until another two days and her nanny disapproves of the relationship. Something about bad influence, speaking of bad influence the Doctor had never been told that he was one.

"What sort strange man appears in the middle of the night in the garden. Expecting a child to cook him things only to waste the food she cooks," the nanny said.

The Doctor goes pale because he's been doing pretty good so far at avoiding the nanny. Amelia didn't like her nanny too much and the Doctor can't blame her.

"Will you see…

"And, another thing you destroyed the garden shed."

"Yes, about that…"

"Then you drop her of here and then she comes home speaking stories of vampires…"

"There alien vampires," Amelia corrected. As she plays with her toy blue box.

"And, statutes…"

"Alien statues," Amelia corrected.

"You get my point. Not to mention she is always later for school now. You say you're a time traveller."

"I am," the Doctor said proudly.

"Then why don't you bring her to school on time."

She never wanted to go to school and the TARDIS seemed to be Amelia, partner in crime because they always end up late.

"I'm still getting used to the new TARDIS," he answers honestly.

The nanny gives him a disapproval look.

"Will if you can't get her on time then she won't be going on anymore trips for a week."

"You can't do that," Amelia said.

"Will she sort of can she is," he stops himself mid-sentence because he is being stare down by two women.

The Doctor tries to blend into the wall.

"Get her to school on time and then you can keep going on this weird alien stuff that she goes on about," the nanny said. "But I'm warning you one wrong move and I'll make you regret it."

Blending into the wall didn't help after all.

So, the Doctor tires to get her to school.

He wakes her up makes her eat breakfast and even though she protested at every turn and sometimes they need to save the world. For the most part he does get her on time until her friend Rory comes along and then they had to deal with all those clones the pair ended up missing half of their day. Just don't tell Amelia, nanny. She was one scary woman and the Doctor had met a lot of scary women, but Amelia, nanny was the scariest and he didn't want to deal with another lecture about getting Amelia on time.
