This is what makes Makomo one of the most hilarious characters in the anime/manga(in my opinion, anyway). Enjoy.
Makomo had the funny habit of answering in the most vague or off-topic manner.
She guided Tanjiro in training. He would sometimes ask, "Where do you come from?"
She'd reply with her favorite phrase: "Sabito and I care about Urokotaki very much,"
"That's...not what I asked..."
"Makomo, is there really nothing else for you, Sabito, and Urokotaki to teach me? I still feel like I need more improvement,"
"There are other children watching you as well,"
"Th-Th-That's so creepy!"
"I've seen that Sabito has that wooden stick, but do you have a sword?" Tanjiro asked. "And did you use any Breaths?"
"Sabito has already sliced his boulder. He trained very hard. You should too,"
"I know, he already told me about slicing his boulder and I can tell he trained hard, but that's not what I asked..."
To put it simply, if Tanjiro would ask for any information about her or Sabito, she wouldn't answer accurately.
But Tanjiro did eventually find something out about her.
"I know who you are now!" Tanjiro said one day.
"Oh, really?"
"You're someone who answers questions in the most vague way as possible,"
Makomo nodded. "I care about Urokotaki very much,"
"Gah! Nevermind!"
