UNIT HQ in the year 2007

A month... a month has passed ever since the death of the timelord named the Master. His rain of terror brought death and suffering to everyone on Earth. But one person suffered a lot more than others. His name is Jason Connor, the UNIT soldier who used to be a member of the Torchwood back in 2006 when the Daleks and Cybermen invaded. After the battle, Jason resigned from Torchwood.

But shortly after his resignation, the UNIT contacted him and offered him a job as one of their soldiers. And of course, Jason accepted the offer and joined the UNIT. But when his career in the UNIT barely started, the Master launched the Toclafane invasion that killed thousands of innocent people.

As Jason was walking in the hallway, he could still remember what happened when the Toclafane invasion happened and what he did afterward.

Flashback begins

When the Toclafanes started attacking everywhere on Earth, Jason and his sister Julia were running in the terraced area trying to find a place to hide from the invaders. The people in the street were running in panic but the Toclafanes were approaching fast.

"They're coming!" Julia yelled in fear.

"Don't worry! I'll get us to safety!" Jason said.

Julia wished she could believe her brother but the situation looked very bad. They ran for a minute until they found an army truck next to what looked like a shelter the UNIT made in case of emergency.

"There! We can hide in the shelter!" Jason said.

He and his sister ran to the shelter's entrance but they couldn't open it because it was locked with a security lock.

"It's locked. We need security codes," Julia said.

Jason was still new in the UNIT so he didn't have security codes. He ran to the truck and began searching it. It took a minute until he found an L85A2 assault rifle (with SUSAT scope), a couple of magazines, and what looked like a file. He opened it and sighed in relief because the file had the codes they needed. Jason quickly grabbed the file and gave it to Julia.

"Here, the codes are on the red page," Jason said.

"Thanks," Julia said as she took the file.

She began putting the codes into the panel while Jason readied his assault rifle. At first, they seemed to be safe until a couple of Toclafanes spotted them and flew towards them.

"Hurry Up, Julia! They spotted us!" Jason said as he started firing at the Toclafanes.

"I'm working as fast as I can!" Julia said.

She kept putting codes into the panel while Jason gave her cover fire. He was able to shoot down the attacking Toclafanes but it caught the attention of the others and they began flying towards them.

"Now's there a whole swarm of them coming!" Jason yelled.

"Almos... got it!" Julia said as she got the door open.

"Go go go," Jason said as he kept firing.

When they were inside the shelter, Jason tried to close the doors but they didn't. He pressed the button many times but nothing happened.

"Dammit! The doors won't close," Jason said.

He opened the panel and tried to reset the wires but it was going slowly and the Toclafanes were getting closer. Julia looked outside and knew that resetting the wires was going to take too long, the only quickest way was to close the doors from outside the shelter.

While Jason was busy resetting the wires, Julia quickly grabbed his assault rifle and ran outside. Jason noticed this and stopped what he was doing.

"Julia! What are you doing?" Jason asked.

"You have always protected me, Jason. Now it is my turn to protect you," Julia said as she pressed her hand on the control panel.

"Julia, please! Don't do this!" Jason begged.

"Have a good and happy life, Jason. Fall in love, marry, have children. No matter what happens to me, grant me this last wish. Live!"

After she said her final words to her twin brother, Julia pressed the panel and the doors of the shelter closed. Jason ran to the doors and tried to get them open but he couldn't. He could hear the gunfire coming from outside for a second until he heard cries of agony and then, nothing.

When Jason realized that his sister was gone, his anger took over him and he hit his fists at the door many times and cried.

"No! No! Julia!" Jason shouted.

His sister was gone and it was all thanks to the murderous alien who became their prime minister.

"I will kill you, Master! I swear It! I... will... kill you!" Jason vowed.

Flashback ends

It was a painful day and from there, a painful year. The Master ruled the Earth and had most of the human race under his control through his satellite system. But Jason survived the slaughter and lived on. The problem was that he couldn't let go of his anger and couldn't let the Master get away with murdering his sister.

So, Jason went into hiding but he didn't do it to run away from the Master and his Toclafanes, he did it to use whatever time he had left to kill the Master to save the Earth and the human race.

But of course, it wasn't as easy as it sounded. Jason had to be always on the move to stay ahead of the Master and the Toclafanes. He also had to make plans to Infiltrate the Valiant and take whatever he needed to complete his task.

During that year of running and planning, there were times Jason thought of giving up but the memories about his sister kept him going. He also knew that his sister wanted him to have a happy life but how could he have that if the Master was terrorizing the world and enslaving humanity like a tyrant.

No matter what he did, Jason couldn't let go of his hatred towards the Master. He had to get his revenge and a week ago... he got it.

Flashback begins

After the Toclafanes were destroyed (by sending them to the sun) and most of what the Master did reversed, Jack grabbed the Master and brought him to others on the Valiant's bridge.

"So, what do we do with this one?" Jack asked.

"We kill him," Clive said.

"We execute him," Tish said.

"No, that's not a solution," the Doctor told them.

Even though the Master may deserve death or something far worse, the Doctor still thought that he should take the only other timelord he had left with him. But before the doctor could speak further, Francine raised her gun at the Master.

"Oh, I think so," Francine said as she held her gun at the Master.

Everyone was a little shocked (Martha mostly) because Francine wasn't a killer.

"Because, all those things, they still happened. Because of him. I saw them," Francine said.

"Go on, do it," the Master said urging Francine to shoot him.

She tried to shoot him but she couldn't because she hesitated. The doctor approached her and asked her to put the gun down.

"Francine, you're better than him," the Doctor said.

Francine slowly put the gun down and began to cry, the Doctor pulled her into a hug to comfort her.

"You still haven't answered the question. What happens to me?" The Master asked.

"You're my responsibility from now on. You're the only timelord left in the existence," the Doctor said.

This of course made everyone in the room think that was the Doctor crazy. There was no way that he could forgive the Master for everything he did just because he was the only other timelord alive.

"But you can't trust him," Jack said seriously.

"No, the only safe place for him is the TARDIS," the Doctor said.

"You mean you're gonna just... keep me?" The Master asked.

"Hmhmm, that's what I have to do," the Doctor said.

While they were talking, they didn't notice that someone sneaked into the room. The stranger took his knife and approached the Master's wife. When he was close enough, he covered her mouth and stabbed her right into her heart without anyone noticing. After the Master's wife was dead, the stranger hid her body and stayed in the shadows.

"It's time to change. Maybe I've been wandering for too long. Now I have someone to take care of," the Doctor said as he looked at the Master.

But as soon as he said it, a knife with a pulse charge hit on the Master's chest. Everyone looked who it was and saw that it was Jason who threw it. After that, he pressed the button on the detonator and the pulse charge on the knife exploded. As the result, the Master was disintegrated into orange particles of energy (like in Halo 4).

"No!" the Doctor yelled as he tried to reach for the Master but it was too late.

"What happened? What did you do to him?" Martha asked.

"I put a small pulse charge on the knife. It released a powerful pulse of ionized particles that disintegrated him," Jason explained.

It was a cruel fate but the Master deserved it after the horrors and atrocities he committed against Earth and the human race. The Doctor looked at Jason for a moment before he charged at him but Jack stopped him by grabbing hold of him.

"Whoa! Easy now, Doctor," Jack said trying to calm the Doctor down but it didn't really help.

"You killed him!" The Doctor shouted.

"I had no choice," Jason said calmly.

"There is always a choice and you made the worst one," the Doctor said out of anger.

"Killing him was for the best. Now no one else will suffer in his hands," Jason protested against the Doctor.

"It's not that simple. You can't go out there and kill everyone you think deserves to die," the Doctor protested back.

"He murdered my sister! He had to pay for it!" Jason shouted.

"Revenge won't bring your sister back from the dead!" The Doctor shouted back.

"Please! Stop it!" Martha shouted.

Luckily her shout made both Jason and Doctor stop their argument.

"Please, fighting each other is not what we're supposed to do," Martha said.

"He killed the only other time lord and now I'm alone again," the Doctor said.

"I know he did and you may be the last of your kind but you're not alone," Martha said.

"I'm the last timelord in the universe. How am I not alone?" The Doctor asked.

"Because you have us. We may not be timelords but we're your family," Martha said.

The Doctor didn't say anything after Martha told him that. While it was true that he was the last of his kind, he did have friends and family even though they weren't the same species. He eventually calmed down and Jack let him go. But the Doctor was still looking at Jason with anger.

"You didn't have to kill him," the Doctor said.

"Yes, I did," Jason said.

"He was the only other time lord I had left and you killed him," the Doctor said.

"Keeping him alive was too dangerous," Jason said.

"That is not your decision to make," the Doctor said.

"And it's yours because you're a timelord?" Jason asked.

"When it concerns other time lords, yes," the Doctor said.

Jason had enough of Doctor's morals and ideals and decided to give him a piece of his own mind.

"What makes you think you can make decisions for us or what is best for us?" Jason asked which Doctor by surprise.

"What? I'm trying to protect your people and you complain? The Doctor said.

"You let the Master come here with your TARDIS and allow him to terrorize Earth and its people," Jason accused.

This shocked everyone including the Doctor that Jason was blaming him for allowing the Master to come to Earth.

"How is what the Master did my fault?" The Doctor asked.

"You could have stopped him back at the end of the universe but instead you tried to talk him to join you which he completely rejected. If you would have topped him instead of trying to soften him up, my sister would still be alive!"

After Jason's last shout, everything on the bridge went quiet. No one dared to speak and no one even dared to move. Even the Doctor stayed perfectly still while processing what Jason just said and accused him of.

The Doctor just couldn't believe that a simple human in front of him hold him partly responsible for what the Master did. Jason's words made the Doctor remember his days in the time war and what he did in the war. Somehow when Jason showed his pain, the Doctor could feel his pain because losing someone you loved was something the Doctor knew very well and what it was like.

Flashback ends

After that fateful day and the Master's demise, the world leaders decided to give the UNIT a lot more funding so they could build a defense system against all alien threats and have an effective military and strike force to deal with alien infiltrators and forces on Earth. After this, Jason returned to the UNIT and was promoted to lieutenant which gave him a right to lead teams and the UNIT forces on the battlefield. He was also given a place in the UNIT special forces that gave him access to the UNIT's experimental technologies the scientists developed to help soldiers in combat and to detect alien threats.

Even though Jason killed the Master, saved the world, and avenged his sister's death, he still felt empty. It was almost like everything he ever did to avenge his sister's death was meaningless, as it was not enough. Like he had to do more, a lot more.

"What is this feeling? Why do I feel a sudden need to kill more bad people and save the innocents?" Jason asked himself.

"Perhaps it's a need to kill evil people like the Master and save innocent lives. And also to right the wrongs in the universe."

Jason felt like he just got a heart attack as a result of a sudden voice behind him. But luckily it only lasted for a second and then turned to see who it was. When Jason turned to the person who spoke to him, he recognized him as Colonel Alan Mace who was the commander of the UNIT division Jason was in.

"Colonel Mace, sir," Jason saluted.

"At ease, at ease," Mace said.

Jason put his hand down and relax before speaking again.

"If I may ask, sir. What are you doing here?" Jason asked.

"I was looking for you," Mace said.

"Why? Do you need me for something?" Jason asked.

"As a matter of fact, I do," Mace said.

He asked Jason to follow him and they headed to the HQ's research lab where the UNIT was experimenting on the new technologies they created based on the alien technologies they were able to salvage from battles and dead aliens.

Jason couldn't help but admire how much the UNIT was able to create in a short time. But what caught his attention was the device that looked like some sort of ring (kind of like stargate from the Stargate series).

"What is that thing?" Jason asked.

"That, lieutenant, is an interdimensional transport device," Mace said.

"What does it do, sir?" Jason asked.

"It was designed to take people to parallel universes and alternate realities," Mace explained.

Jason couldn't believe what he just heard. A device that can take people to other realities and universes felt so unreal but it was real. Jason was amazed by the UNIT's creation but soon he also got worried.

"Does the Doctor know about this?" Jason asked.

"No. The UNIT and the UN felt that it wouldn't be wise to inform the Doctor about the existence of this device," Mace said.

"You're worried that he might forbid you using this device or destroy it," Jason said.

"Something like that," Mace confirmed.

They kept staring at the device until Jason spoke again.

"So, what is the reason you brought me here exactly?" Jason asked.

"We have already tested the device and decided to send a team," Mace said.

"You want me to lead it?" Jason asked.

"Yes, but not only because of your rank or reputation but also because of your extraordinary skills as a soldier and tactician," Mace said.

"But there must be someone more qualified for this mission," Jason said.

"There is no one else. You're the best candidate we have," Mace said.

Jason knew that he couldn't refuse this so he gladly accepted Colonel Mace's proposal.

"Alright, sir. I'm in," Jason said.

"That's good to hear, lieutenant. But before I give you the details, there's something else you need to see," Mace said.

He took Jason to another part of the lab where the scientists were making some kind of new equipment for their best soldiers. When Mace told asked one of the scientists to show Jason his new tools, the scientist took them from the table and showed them to Jason.

One of them looked like a black wrist computer with a blue screen while was some sort of hand device (kind of like a Goa'uld healing device from the Stargate series except it's black and the crystal in the center is blue).

What are those?" Jason asked.

"These are your new tools. A time bracelet and a storage device," Mace said.

"What they do?" Jason asked.

"The storage device can store any weapons and technological equipment and beam them in the wearer's hands when they think about them. The time bracelet on the other hand can teleport its wearer from place to place. It also can take the wearer to alternate realities, parallel universes, and travel in time," Mace explained.

Jason was absolutely stunned and amazed that the colonel chose him to be the wearer of these two new amazing tools. The scientist gave Jason the new tools and he took a closer look at them. They were based on alien technologies but were human-made. Jason was truly impressed that he was given the honor to use the time bracelet and the storage device.

"Now that I have shown you your new tools, I'd like to show you the rest regarding your mission," Mace said.

Jason nodded and gave the tools back to the scientist before joining the colonel. They walked to what looked like a control room where all the navigation systems and computers were located and connected to the interdimensional transport device.

"If you don't mind me asking, sir? But why are we in the control room?" Jason asked.

"Because here we have the data about your possible destinations," Mace said.

He took Jason to the main computer that showed them two destinations, there were more but the technicians were still encoding them into the computers and data drives. One of the destinations looked like it was similar to the Middle age except it had dragons in it while the other seemed to take place to the age of the Vikings.

"Are these the parallel Earths you want me to go, sir?" Jason asked.

"Yes, but it will be a simple recon mission to these parallel Earths. We also want you and your team to get data about these places so we can set outposts in those places," Mace said.

Jason was a little surprised that the UNIT wanted to set up outposts in these parallel Earths even though they seemed to be dangerous.

"You want me and my team to find perfect locations for outposts?" Jason asked.

"Yes. The reason why we want to set up outposts is that our scientists want to explore and study these Earths while others want to get their hands on the resources these worlds have," Mace explained.

Jason wasn't sure it was such a good idea but he understood why the UNIT and the UN wanted to set the outposts. But there was also another question, was there something else the UNIT wanted Jason to do.

"Is there something else you want me to do?" Jason asked.

"Nothing gets past you I see. We also want you to be our first, time agent," Mace said.

"Time agent?" Jason asked.

"Yes, it means that you go to parallel Earths and alternate realities to perform reconnaissance. You will also try to solve conflicts the locals can't solve on their own," Mace explained further.

Jason couldn't believe what he just heard. The UNIT wanted him to travel in time and space just like the Doctor and solve the problems and conflicts but in his own way. Jason wasn't sure if he was ready for that kind of responsibility but he could think about it while doing the recon mission.

"Can I think about it, sir?" Jason asked.

"Of course," Mace said.

"Thank you, sir," Jason thanked.

"But I'm afraid that you'll have to go to that recon mission on one of the parallel Earths now," Mace said.

"One of them?" Jason asked.

"Yes, but you can choose which one," Mace said.

Jason and the colonel walked to the main computer where the two destinations were. It was a difficult choice for Jason because both parallel Earths were interesting but for now, he had to go only one of them.

At first, Jason thought that he should go to where the Vikings still ruled the North. But then he turned to the place where were dragons and many factions that fought for power and some kind of Iron Throne.

It was a difficult choice but in the end, Jason chose the Earth where the dragons and the Iron Throne were located.

"I'll take that one," Jason said pointing at the world he chose.

"Very well. You'll go and gear up while I'll assemble your team and make the preparations for the device," Mace said.

Jason saluted before leaving the control room and heading to the UNIT HQ's barracks. Even though this mission sounded interesting, something inside Jason told him that he and his team were going to one of the most dangerous and violent places in time and space.

Note: this story will be a small multi-crossover but it will mostly take place in the Doctor Who and Game of Thrones series.
