"He saw them-her walking toward a weird portal they had suddenly opened up. 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?' he had yelled louder than he had expected. Afterall these were his enemies; he had lived make them disappear of the face of the earth. She only glanced back and gave a small smile, 'it's safer this way' she had said before nodding to her sister. The green nodded back gave the blue one a thumbs up and jumped in even as his brother gave a yell. The blue then too, nodded to her sister and gave a small wave before skipping in. His younger brother had sunk to his knees, but he wasn't even paying attention, why were they affecting them like this?! They should have been laughing! Celebrating, but no, he just watched as she strode in. 'BLOSSOM!'"
That memory, That STUPID memory had been playing in his head since it was so common he could chalk it up on a day planner! That was the day his foes disappeared. He stared at his brothers; Boomer had recovered but he always cried to remember it. Butch on the other hand was almost the same except he had gotten more and more violent without knowing why. As for himself, he kept to him, his brothers and his friends. Not much difference in all but… they could never forget that day. It was like it was haunting him.
He tried to push the thought away while rechecking his supplies for a meeting with the Punks and Rights (who were the ones who held them back that one day). so, imagine his surprise when Butch had suddenly pushed him and screamed "LOOK OUT!" before jumping back himself. A monster was attacking the city again. After THEY disappeared, the police usually took over while other chemical X superbeings decided to help occasionally. (and yeah, they did do it out of pure annoyance, your point?) he must have been stunned by the impact of the push because he just sat there while the monster practically walked up to him. He stared up at, it even as it raised its hand, even as his brothers yelled at him to move. He was frozen in place.
Until she came. (he thought it was a girl, still trying to recollect the past moments) he stared at her and tried to move his mouth to yell at her to move, even though she came out of nowhere. She simply stood and stared up before shooting a hand up. He suddenly felt a wave of cold and closed his eyes feeling tiny, shards, (of something) brush by. When everyone opened their eyes, they saw a mere girl, probably a teen standing at the foot of a massive ice point that had knocked the monster only a couple inches back.
His brothers saw her come out of nowhere and was stunned. Then 2 more came from behind and they saw similarities between them. Same shaped faces with big eyes, only difference is the eye and hair color and style.
Brick suddenly felt self-aware and saw the monster snapping out of its own trance and preparing for a punch while the girl collapsed onto her knees just as it punched the tip of the ice.
He braced for impact but after about 5 minutes, he opened his eyes to see a huge shield and another girl emanating it from something in front of her. She looked tough but the impact from the ice breaking looked like it was forcing her back inch by inch. She grimaced and clenched her teeth as Boomer yelled "RUN!". A third girl flew and picked up the first while Brick soared away staring after them. "Watch out!" Butch yelled pushing the girl with the shield and him out of the way as the monster broke the shield. "You didn't need to do that!" said the second girl while trying to dust themselves off. The third girl flew forward again and the one Butch saved was about to call out but the third had just created chains out of… "is that water?" Boomer stared as she secured the monster down.
"Not bad baby sis" said the girl Butch saved floating towards the one with the chains. "Thanks" she nodded and made a motion to punch. The other girl nodded back and readied one herself. They went at the same time and sent the monster flying and landing somewhere in the ocean. "ooh just missed" said the second girl referring to the fact it hadn't flown all the way to Monster Island. But she hardened again when she saw everyone's eyes on her.
Everything seemed to stop as everyone stared at the 3 girls who seemed to appear out of nowhere. No one was more surprised than the 3 Ruffs, who still stared as the girl who created the shield flew down to the first girl that the third one placed on a building. (confusing much?)
The girl held the first in her hand then proceeded to shake her. "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT!?" she screamed and continued shaking even as the third one tried to pry them apart. They heard a loud clicking sound and turned to see the whole police force surrounding them. "WHO ARE YOU? STATE YOUR NAMES AND EXPLAIN WHAT JUST HAPPENED" said a policeman from a helicopter with a megaphone. The second girl face- palmed and rushed in with a hard cold look. She landed in the center while the police had all targets on her. Up close, (and without as much shock and adrenaline) Brick saw the girl like how his brothers saw them. Basic attire, but because of the dark hair and strong will she looked and acted too close to someone familiar. He heard his brothers land behind him and heard Butch give a gasp and growl. His brother hated the reminder of his green-eyed foe and this girl was almost imitating her. Mocking her, almost begging Butch for an attack without knowing. (of course, it wasn't her fault… well okay maybe it could be)
When she looked up, he saw harsh black eyes before seeing a dark shadowlike thing enlarging below them. "I really hate to do this" he heard her say before snapping her fingers and suddenly he felt his energy draining. He saw through the corner of his eye Boomer collapsing to his knees and Butch looking like he was gonna puke while the shadowlike thing she conjured stretched over to the police. He saw everyone else almost wilting just like him except faster and looking more serious and paler. Then he heard a shout "DON'T!" and saw that the first girl was in the same clothing as the second one but in pink grasping the edge of the building, she and the third one was at. The green girl ignored her, but the Ruffs felt worse and worse. "SNAP OUT OF IT" the pink girl screamed, and the green girl snapped out of her strange trance and stared up at the first. Brick almost saw a weird connection between them before the third one interrupted
"Let's go?" said the third girl in blue, then her and the pink girl floated beside the green one who he heard, mutter an apology before stepping back. The blue girl made a motion with her hands and a mist-like wave washed over them. Brick felt his energy returning but just studied the three girls. The policeman returned to their defensive stands and the girls seemed to want to run but the pink girl stepped forward. "We surrender" she said, and her sisters stared in disbelief but didn't argue.
"STATE YOUR NAMES AND WE'LL TAKE YOU INTO CUSTODY!" said the policeman. "uh Bubbles Utonium" said the blue girl nervously and Boomer's eyes blurred. Then the green girl crossed her arms but said "Buttercup Utonium" grumpily (since she didn't think this was a good idea) and Butch froze. "Blossom Utonium" said the final girl and Brick felt numb in disbelief. Seems like the police did as well for a moment before they went right up to them and made a motion to follow them to the police center. The girls did without a fight but when they passed the Ruffs, they gave their counterpart a side glance which none of them missed before continuing their way.
Brick wasn't sure why, but something had felt off about her glance. He searched his brain and checked his memory to why it seemed wrong. Then it hit him, he thought it was his old foe, but her glance showed grey eyes. His foe had bright bubblegum pink eyes that never changed just like his blood red ones. Hers were but a neutral gray, still an unusual eye color but not like the girl he knew. Yet he couldn't shake the feeling that…it was her. Meanwhile his brothers were thinking the same thing. The girl Butch saved looked just like Buttercup except a couple years older, and she had deep black eyes instead of the neon green that was way lighter than his forest ones like he was used to. With Boomer, he thought the powers of the water girl matched his nemesis except she had dark brown eyes while she had a baby blue eye color to match his ocean blue ones.
The Ruffs had no idea how long they stood there but snapped back to reality when the Punks and Rights flew up to them. "Oi idiots! What's with the faces?" said Brute snapping her fingers. Butch pushed her away and stared at the direction the police left. "Hey Boom, my man, why do you look like your about to cry?" asked Bash putting his hands on Boomer's shoulders. "Tsk, mind telling us what happened before we got here before we start with the question? We just heard about a monster attack and that something weird happened but couldn't get any details." said Berserk keeping her level head.
She shot a glance at Brick, "whatever it is must be bad if even Brick looks sickening." She deducted. (little does she know there's a different reason for that). "I won't complain because I want an explanation," said Blake. "WE want an explanation" said Berserk putting an arm on his shoulder. "Mind giving us one?" she asked.
So, they did, they emphasized the parts that included the girls but even without their not-so-subtle hints, the Rights and Punks immediately had a suspicion. "you don't think it's…" Breaker trailed off "but, it's impossible! They were gone for almost 6 years! And you all said they had different eye colors! It can't be them!" argued Brat. Bash argued back "But who else could they be?! It's not like superhumans are a common thing!" The bad girl and the good boy reds had quieted. "it doesn't make sense! Why would they come back now?!" continued Brat ranting excuses that even she wasn't believing. "it's them" said Boomer "It HAS to be," said Butch. "but…" Brute tried "No" Brick interrupted "their right, we're right" he said choosing to say what everyone suspected, what everyone knew. "the Powerpuffs are back".
