This is a Murauders era fic and is set in the Murauders fifth year
Mackenzie (but mostly referred to as Mack) is James' twin sister
Mack has medium, wavy brown hair, stormy blue eyes, is 5'7"
Even though Mack and James are twins, I wanted them to look different from each other so James looks like Fleamont and Mack looks like Euphemia
This will be a Sirius x OC but a slow burn because great things take time
Mostly, this will follow the actual story line but there are some little things that will be modified
Fabian and Gideon Prewett will be only one year above the Murauders and Frank Longbottom will be a fifth year with them

I woke up on September first to four, very immature teenage boys laughing outside of my door
They are annoying prats but they are my annoying prats
All of a sudden they all barge into my room
"Oi! Ever heard of knocking?!"
"Good morning to you too little sister!"
"James take your pack of idiots and get out of my room" I say, pointing to the door
"My dear favorite sister-"
"-Only sister" I roll my eyes at my brothers antics
"Mum has sent me to wake you up since we have to be leaving in a couple of hours for school"
"Well I'm up, now leave"
I get out of bed and starts pushing James and Sirius out of the door, knowing that Remus and Peter will have to common sense to leave on their own
"I have to get change and get ready"
"All right mates, this is where I part with you" Sirius salutes to the other boys
"If you think you have a chance of being anywhere near me without clothes on, you are very mistaken"
I push Sirius out of my room and shut the door in his face before he can say anything else
I can hear James yelling at Sirius through my door
"Pads! She's my sister! You can't go making jokes like that or I will hex you into next week!"
"I was just joking Prongs don't get your knickers in a twist! Plus it's not my fault your sister is super hot- Oi! That hurt James! Ow stop hitting me!"
I shake my head and laugh as they head downstairs for breakfast
I change into her favorite pair of black denim jeans that hug my arse rather famously, a tight fitting Queen shirt, a leather jacket, and Doc Martens
I grab my aviators and puts them on my head
When I reach the bottom of the stairs, the boys are already seated at the table and eating breakfast
I walk over to my parents and kiss them both on the cheek
"Mum, Dad"
"Good morning, sweetie"
"Favorite #1, Favorite #2, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum" I addressed the boys
"Wait- who is Favorite #1?" James asks
"Obviously me" Sirius and James say at the same time
"Actually, sorry to break it to you, but it's Remus"
Sirius and James just gape at me
"Then who's Favorite #2?" Sirius asks
"Me" James and Sirius say together
"Merlin, you two are more bloody related than James and Mack" Remus mutters next to me
"Actually it's Pete, but nice try"
"How the bloody hell are Remus and Peter your favorites?!" James demands
"Wait- that means we Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, mate" Sirius tells James with an overly dramatic amount of disbelief
"Hey!" James and Sirius both yell at the same time
"Well boys, she's not wrong" Fleamont says not looking up from the Daily Prophet
"Oi! Also why does Mack get a 'Good morning, sweetie' and I get 'James be more like your sister and Remus and try not to get into too much trouble this school year'"
Everyone laughs at James' whining
Remus and I share a smirk both knowing well that we cause just as much trouble at school as the others, we just don't get caught
"Well my darling brother, it is quite obvious that Remus and I are the favorites... I mean both Remus' mum and Pete's mum love me the most too so I wouldn't be so surprised"
There is a few moments of silence until James speaks up again
"Really?! No one has any arguments to say otherwise?!"
Everyone just laughs again and James huffs in his seat
"It's true though... Ow! Prongs why are you hitting me... Mum always says how much she loves Mack" Remus says
"Well, Jamie, if it makes you feel any better, Burgy hates almost as much as she hates Sirius but I take pride in that fact"
I catch Sirius grinning at me and I grin back
I grab the other half of the paper out of James hands and some coffee
"Oi!"
"Yes?"
"I was reading that!"
"Well maybe next time you should be paying more attention and stop thinking about my best friends breasts at the breakfast table" I say without looking up from the paper
Sirius falls out of his chair, laughing so hard that he is crying
Peter and Remus are both trying to contain their laughs but failing miserably
Even Mum and Dad are smiling a little bit
"I- I wasn't- I- erm-" James stutters
"Yeah sure, whatever you say"
"Mack, dear-"
"Don't use such language at the table, especially this early in the morning, and pointed at your poor brother" We all finish for her, even Dad
"Well, it seems like I don't even have to tell you"
"Oh Rem! By the way I have that book for you!"
"Oh thanks Mack!"
"Nerd" Sirius mutters into his coffee
"Man-whore" I mutter into mine as well
"What- I am not-"
"Sirius, you have slept with every single one of my friends except Lily and Alice... You. Are. A. Man-whore."
"Well it's not my fault you are friends with such hot girls"
Sirius smirks and I pretend to be hurt by his words
"A-Are you saying that I'm not hot?" I say faking my tears
"Wh-what of course not! Y-You are plenty hot! Oh god she's crying what do I do?!"
My sobs immediately stop and Sirius is looking at me like I have two heads
"Oh that was just too easy!"
The boys all start laughing at Sirius and James falls out of his chair and starts rolling around on the floor
"Sirius for being the man-whore that you are, you need to learn something's about the female population..."
"One. Crocodile tears, it makes it too easy for a girl to manipulate a guy. It makes them uncomfortable and squirm. Two. Stop being an arse and maybe just maybe girls won't manipulate you."
"Oh and close your mouth, I know I'm breathtakingly hot, smart, funny-"
"-humble too" James grumbles
"-but you might catch some flies" I say ignoring James' comment
For the first time in his life, Sirius Black is silent
I put my dishes in the sink and grab my trunk from my room
"James, did you pack your trunk?!" I yell from upstairs
"Shit, shit, shit..." I hear James mumble from downstairs
I smirk and enter James' room which looks like a tornado tore through it about 10 times
I get James' trunk from his closet and start packing his books and school supplies but I leave the clothes to him because I don't know what he wants to bring
He walks in with the boys closely behind and tackles me in a bear hug
"Jamie I know I'm the best sister ever but you are crushing me" I manage to get out
"Sorry sis, you know how much I love you right?"
"Yeah Jamie, I know. Oh and by the way I packed everything except your clothes because I wasn't sure what you wan-"
"Mackenzie Rose Potter, you are the best sister ever!"
"I know" I shoot back and grin
I stalk out of the room as James frantically grabs clothes and shoves them in his trunk
When the boys finally come downstairs we are ready to head to King's Cross
We go through the threshold between platforms 9 and 10 and the Hogwarts Express is in view
"We love you boys so much and of course our favorite Mack! Don't get into too much trouble and try not to drag your poor sister and Remus into trouble boys! James, Sirius, I mean it-" Euphemia lectures to us
"Boys, Mack, have fun and we will see you all at Christmas" Fleamont cuts in
James, Sirius, and I hug and kiss our parents goodbye and we get on the train
We head to our compartment but found some firsties in there so we kicked them out
"Don't you think that was a little mean?" Remus asks us
We all burst out laughing, including Remus
"Oh Moons, always with the conscience"
"Well I always try at least once every year" He shrugs
I'm sitting in between Sirius and James
Remus and Peter are sitting across from us
We just laugh and talk for awhile until Marlene barges into our compartment
She looks really out of breath
"Hey Marls! What's wrong?!"
"Lily...problem...crying...help me...only wants you" Marlene says between breaths
"Yeah, yeah okay I'm coming!"
I grab my robes out of my trunk, above Remus and Peter
What I didn't know was that Sirius was not so sneakily staring at my arse
"Hey Moons, try to keep the hexing down to a minimum until I get back okay?"
He nods and I run out of the room with Marlene
When we get there, Lily is crying and Alice is comforting her
"Hey Lils- what's up?" I ask hesitantly
Lily sees me and throws herself at me and I almost fall back
"Hey Lils- what's going on? What happened?"
We sit down and I hold her while she cries
Marlene and Alice sit across from us, sharing worried looks
Lily stops crying and hugs me super tight
"Oh Mack, I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too!"
"So what happened? I thought Marls was going to go into cardiac arrest from running so fast to find me"
"Hey! I am not that out of shape!"
"No, you definitely are not"
I look up and see my prats standing in the doorway
"Sirius, get you, your man-whorish ways, and big head out of here before I hex you myself"
The girls laugh at what I said and Sirius looks annoyed
"Lily-flower! What's wrong?!"
"POTTER! YOU ARROGANT TOERAG! GET OUT OF HERE!"
Sirius leaves the compartment so he can go laugh without having to deal with James' wrath up close
"Hey Jamie, I love you but I think that Lily needs the better Potter sibling right now"
Lily is already back to crying and mostly because of my idiot brother
Remus hands me some chocolate and drags James with him and Peter follows
"Thank you" I mouth to Remus
He smiles and starts dragging James by his ear
"Ow! Moony! Hey- stop! I'm going, I'm going, dear Merlin what did I ever do to you! Not the hair, not the hair!"
"H-How d-do you deal w-with Potter?" Lily asks me
"Well Lils when you are a twin, and especially with James, who loves so fiercely, it's hard not to love him to death no matter how much I want to smack him upside the head" I say with a laugh
"Oh-" Lily says lamely
"Are you ready to tell me what happened?"
"Well Sev- I mean Snape- started to hang around Avery and Mulciber, so when I confronted him about it he got really defensive and told me that he didn't want to be associated with a filthy mudblood anymore"
"Oh, I am going to kill him, he won't be know what hit him, I'll-"
Lily dissolved into more tears
"Oh Lils I'm so sorry, he doesn't deserve you anyway"
I wipe Lily's tears and hug her again
"We should probably go change and before I forget Remus gave me chocolate to give to you"
We go change and Lily starts to feel a little bit better
We get to the castle and sit through the sorting
There were only a few Gryffindors so I didn't really care about it much
Dumbledore delivered his classic welcome speech and let the feast begin
I somehow convinced Lily to sit with my brother and his friends
I gave James a few glares to make sure he avoided making Lily more upset
Someone cleared their throat behind me and when I turned it was Evan Rosier and Catherine (Cat) Jacobs
"Hey guys! Oh I missed you!"
I hugged them both, completely aware of everyone's eyes on us
"You know those are Slytherins right?!" A firstie asks me
"Oh hon you've got a lot to learn"
I give them an apologetic look and ignore the stares
"So, how is my favorite and only Gryffindor friend?" Cat asks me
"Well seeing as I'm sitting with these idiots, it could be better" I say pointing to the boys
"Hey, we are right here!" I hear James from somewhere behind me
"Yes, thank you Captain Obvious, I will alert the media"
The boys are sniggering at James as I turn my attention back to my friends
"So Evan, how are your delightful parents these days, being blood-purist assholes as usual?" I say this and cover the firsties ears that was sitting near me
"Oh you know, the normal routine of 'Evan if show signs of being a blood traitor then you will be disowned' or 'Evan you will be on the right side of this war if you like it or not' and my personal favorite 'Evan you are such a disappointment to this family, how could even think to refuse the Dark Lord' so nothing out of the ordinary"
He smiles sheepishly at me and I pull him into a hug
"Oh Ev, I am so so sorry"
"It's ok, really, it wasn't that bad this summer"
"Ev come on- hold on, go to your table and I'll be over there in a second"
"Mack you really don't have to do this-" Cat tries to tell me
"Shut up and I'll be there in a second"
I jump up on the table and look at everyone around me
"Oi! Listen up!"
"Mack, what are you doing?!" James asks me
"Shut up" I say in a sing-song voice
"What is your problem? Have you never seen a Slytherin and a Gryffindor talk to each other like human beings before?! It's called house unity! You all should try it sometime! Those people are two of my best friends and yeah maybe they play dirty at quidditch but they are good people! You shouldn't judge them by what house they are in! So sod off when I'm talking to my friends! Thank you!" I bow and sit back down on the bench
"Well said Ms. Potter, well said. I couldn't have said it better myself" Dumbledore praised me with his blue eyes twinkling
I turn back to my food and pick up my plate when James quickly stops me
"Mack! What in Merlin's name was that?!"
"I was defending my friends, James"
"They are Slytherins for Merlin's sake!"
"Oh for the love of- James get it through your big head that not everyone is the same as their house or even their parents. I mean look at Sirius and Regulus-sorry Pads- one of them was able to get out and the other one wasn't. Right now Evan is trying to get out and you know what, he deserves it because he is a great person!"
"..."
"Yeah I usually have that affect on people. Anyway, I'm going to sit at their table tonight. Lils are you going to be okay here because say the word and I will stay..."
"It's okay Mack, go ahead. I'll be okay plus I can sit with Alice and Marls. Also don't listen to your toerag of a brother, what you are doing is really brave and I support you no matter what"
"Thanks Lils"
"Mack-"
"What James, what do you want me to say?! I can't even look at you right now and I can't even see Remus because your big head is in the way"
"Kenz-"
I turn at the sound of my childhood nickname
"Oh sod off, James!" I turn and flip him off
"MS. POTTER! DETENTION WITH ME, NEXT SUNDAY!"
"Oh come on Minnie! You know how much I love our time together but have you met my brother?! His ego is so big sometimes I think he won't fit through doors! Can I just have this one?"
"...Yes, Ms. Potter, but just this once"
The boys are all gaping at me, they have never once gotten out of detention with Minnie, no matter how much they beg
"Boys did you hear that? I just got out of detention with Minnie! Oh this is good, today is my day! Suck it boys, I'm Minnie's favorite!"
"Ms. Potter"
"Sorry Minnie, but we all know it's true"
I see Minnie slightly smile and I head to the Slytherin table
"Mack-"
"I did have to Ev, so suck it up buttercup"
"But-"
"Evan! Progress!" Cat yelled at him
"I know, I know" He continued to eat his food grumpily
When we finish dinner, I meet back up with the girls and my favorite prats are following behind us
"Hey Lils, how was dinner?"
"Good, luckily your arrogant toerag of a brother didn't bother me that much"
"I'm glad" I say laughing
"I am right here you know!"
"We know" Lily and I say at the same time
Suddenly an arm is draped around my shoulders that can only belong to the one, the only, Sirius Orion Black
"Ugh, what do you want Pads?"
"Why so Sirius all of a sudden?"
Everyone is laughing but I just stare at him, unamused
"Really? That's the best you can do?"
"I am hurt" He says clutching his heart
"Yeah, yeah, all that was hurt was your ego" I roll my eyes
"Well at least I have better hair than you" He says slyly
"Are we really getting into this? Okay fine...My arse is far better than yours"
He audibly gasped
"You take that back!"
"Never! Plus Marls can vouch for me..."
"She's right Black, she has a better arse than you"
"Marlene McKinnon! Did our shag in that one broom closet than one time mean nothing to you?!"
"Clearly it didn't mean much to you either if you can't even remember what broom closet it was" She snarks back
Everyone just laughs
"Oh Lily, we have Prefect duties!" Remus says and drags her off
"Oh right! Bye guys!"
When we reach the common room Frank and Benjy are waiting for us
I give Benjy a hug and hit Frank for not writing to me at all over the summer holiday
"I'm sorry!"
"That is no excuse, Frank! After all we've been through, all the nights I have spent in your dorm room, in your bed! I can not believe that you would do this to me!"
Lily and Remus who are with the first years are staring at us very amused and explaining to the firsties that this happens quite a lot and they should get used to it
Our other friends are practically rolling on the floor laughing
Everyone else who doesn't know us, is staring at us in shock and concern
"At least Benjy had the decency to write to me!"
"Oh so you were having an affair with him!" Frank shouts back, playing along
"I can't do this anymore...I love you Frank but this is over!"
"How could you, I love you!"
"Well then why were you cheating on me, with Alice!"
Everyone gasps and looks at Alice, who is looking quite red at the moment
"Guys, come on, do you have to do this every time we come back from a break!" Alice demands
"Yes" Frank and I say simultaneously
I should give a little back story, my prats and Frank, who at this point is an honorary prat, all share a dorm so since I hang out with the boys most of the time, I spend a lot of time in their dorm room and poor Frank has had to endure me being there all the time and occasionally falling asleep in his bed when he wasn't there when I was too tired to go to my own and you might be wondering why I am not dating Frank, well the reason is Alice, they have been dating since third year so whenever we do things like this, we drag her into them too
I hug Frank and punch him again, this time without the theatrics
Everyone is now ignoring us and going back to their conversations
Remus and Lily walk to us shaking their heads but smiling all the less
All of a sudden a little firstie is tapping my arm
"Hi, what's your name?" I ask the little girl in front of me
"Lucy Prewett"
"Well Lucy it's very nice to meet you, I'm Mackenzie Potter but you can call me Mack and you see those idiots behind me?"
"Yeah..."
"That's my brother James, Sirius, Peter, Frank, Benjy and you've met Remus already right?"
"Yeah"
"Well if you need anything you can go to Remus or Lily but if you don't want to get into trouble just find me and I'll help ok?"
"Okay!"
"Mack! Stop being a bad influence on first years!"
"That my dear Lucy, as you know is my best friend Lily, she's kinda a stick in the mud"
James sniggers at this and Lily smacks him on the back of his head
"I am not a stick in the mud!"
"That is Marlene and Alice, now did you want to ask me something?" I ask her
"No, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry your boyfriend is a prick"
I burst out laughing
"Frank, I think that firstie just said you were a prick!" James guffaws
"Well Lucy, he isn't my boyfriend, we were just joking, but you are right about him being a prick" I tell her laughing
"Oh ok, wait are you the seeker for Gryffindor?" She asks excitedly
"Yeah, why?"
"Well my brothers say you are really good and they think that you are cute, but Fab especially"
I throw my head back laughing
"Wait Fabian and Gideon right? That sounds like them"
She nods and laughs with me
"Well Lucy it was great meeting you but I'm afraid my dear brother will be dead in a moment if I don't save him from Lily's wrath"
"Thanks Mack!"
"No problem, Luce!"
I turn back to my brother and our friends and they are all staring at me
"What" I ask and sit down next to Sirius on the couch who's staring at me with something I've never really seen in his eyes before, almost like endearment
"You were so good with her" Lily says in awe
"Yeah, well James and I got cousins popping out every five minutes so it's kinda hard to not be good with kids"
James laughs at my statement fully knowing that it's true as does everyone else
"They aren't kidding, every time we are home, there is a new baby that is shoved into my arms" Sirius scoffs
Everyone just laughs at his complaining
"What?! I'm being serious!"
"Did you really just make that joke again?" I ask him
"What joke?"
Then he laughs
"I didn't even realize it that time"
"Merlin help me" Remus and I mutter at the same time
James looks at us and laughs
At that moment Lucy comes running down the stairs and coming straight towards me
"Hey Luce, what's wrong?" I ask while she's pulling me off the couch by my arm
"Bloody hell, you are stronger than you look"
"Mack!"
"What?!"
"You can't say that in front of her!"
"She's related to the twins!"
Lily was about to reply but decided against it because she knows I'm right
"Whatever" she grumbles as I am about to be dragged up the stairs
"Woah, woah, woah, kid, what's going on?"
"No one in my dorm believes that I met you!"
"Okay, so you need me to prove some brainless little slags wrong?"
"Mack!"
"Sorry, not sorry Lils!"
"Yes!" Lucy exclaims dragging me
"Okay, still need my arms though Luce" I say laughing
She drags me up the stairs and pulls my into her dorm
"Well hello firsties, I'm Mack..."
The four other girls are just staring at me with wide eyes and gaping mouths
I hear the sniggering of 6 people that I shouldn't be hearing right now
"Oh for Merlin's sake! You aren't supposed to be up here!" I shout at the boys
"We wanted to see their faces when they met the infamous Mack Potter, Seeker extraordinaire" Sirius says laughing
The girls have moved their attention from me to the boys that are currently standing in their doorway
"Sirius, you are going to make their faces freeze up like that" I tell him laughing at the firsties drooling at the sight of Sirius
"Oi! What about me? James Potter, Gryffindor Captain and Chaser"
The girls haven't moved their eyes from Sirius and he huffs back down the stairs but clearly forgot that he couldn't just walk down and ended up landing on his arse with a thump
I could hear the girls laughing at him from here
"Good Godric mate, you broke them!" Frank exclaims
I push the boys out of the room and down the stairs, now slide except I let Remus wait so we could walk down since the full moon is in a couple of days
"Anyway, Lucy here is in fact friends with me and my group of idiots so if you would please in the near future leave her alone or I will be forced to tell her brothers"
They all gulp and look at me with scared but amazed eyes
I laugh and take Remus' hand
"Luce, you coming down with us?"
"Yeah!" She nods excitedly
I walk down with Remus on my right and Lucy on my left
"How was the way down, idiots?" I asked them all as Remus went to read by the fire
"Why did Moony get an exception?!" Sirius asks incredulously
"Because, Moons isn't feeling too well these days but it will be okay by next week" I tell him, pointedly
All of the boys share a look, minus Benjy because he and the girls have no idea what the real reason for Remus' constant sickness
At that moment, the twins come waltzing into the Common Room
"Well, well, well, if it isn't our little sis!" Gideon says and tackles Lucy into a hug
She laughs and I smile at her with her brothers, it reminds me a lot of James and I
I can tell he is thinking the same thing when I look at him because we have the sad but loving look on our faces
I turn back to the twins and Lucy
"Well Lucy here tells me that one of thinks that- what was it again Lucy?"
"That Fab thinks you're cute!"
"Right, now I remember, thanks Luce"
Fabian looks white as a sheet and Gideon is laughing at him
"I think the actual words were smoking hot" Gideon stage-whispers to me
I look at Fabian and laugh
He's somehow the brightest shade of red but behind pale at the same time
"It's okay Fab, I don't blame you" I pat his left check and kiss his right maki my him go wide eyed
"I'm-erm-going to bed" Fabian runs up the stairs
Gideon and I look at each other and laugh
Later, it's only me, the prats, and Lucy who fell asleep on Sirius
I tried to convince her to go to bed but instead she plopped down between Sirius and I on one of the couches
I sent Gideon upstairs to get some rest once Lucy fell asleep and told him I would take her upstairs
"Gideon go upstairs or I will forcefully remove you!"
That was a little over an hour ago and I now had to convince the other boys to go up too
Sirius however was fast asleep with Lucy still curled up next to him and I couldn't help but smile
I pick Lucy up and carry her bridal style up the stairs and tuck her in her bed
I quietly sneak out and head back downstairs so I can at least cover Sirius with a blanket
When I get back downstairs though, he seems to have woken up from the lack of warmth next to him
"Hey sleepyhead"
"Hey- where's Luce?"
"I just carried her upstairs"
"Did I really fall asleep?"
"Yep. You're lucky that you weren't drooling in Lucy's hair or she might've killed you"
I glance at the piano that is in the corner of the Common Room
I convinced Minnie to let me have a piano in the Common Room in third year and she reluctantly agreed
I take out my wand and set a silencing charm around the Common Room
"What are you doing?" Sirius asks me
"Playing"
"Playing what?"
"A song"
"What song?"
"I guess you'll have to see"
"That's no fun"
I start playing the into to "You're My Best Friend" by Queen
Sirius starts laughing
"What? It seemed appropriate plus it's Queen"
"I'm not judging"
I don't sing because even though the title of the song is appropriate to our relationship the words give off a totally different vibe
"Are you not going to sing?"
"Nope." I say and pop the "p"
"Why not?"
"Why so many questions?"
"Why no answers?"
"Because...I've got a better arse"
He barks out a laugh and I smirk at him
"Well if Marlene said it, then it must be true"
"Damn straight"
I finish the song and close the piano
"Going to bed so soon"
"Yes well some of us like to sleep"
"I like to sleep, just not the way you do"
"Ugh, Your such a pervert!"
"I wasn't talking about that, get your mind out of the gutter Potter"
We both cringed at his use of my last name
"How'd that feel"
"What?"
"Sounding like Lily"
He laughed and shot me a teasing glare
"Well, it didn't feel great"
"Yeah, maybe no addressing me by my last name"
"It sounded weird coming out of my mouth"
"Yeah, it only sounds right when Lily is insulting James"
"Agreed"
I get up to stretch and head upstairs but Sirius grabs my wrist
"What?"
He pulls me into a hug
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing- just Reg, I'm worried about him after I left home"
"And that required a hug?"
"The hug was more of a thank you for taking my mind off of my shit for a while"
"Well, you're welcome to a hug anytime"
"I'm going to hold you to that"
"Okay"
I laugh and he lets me go
"Goodnight Pads"
"Goodnight Kenz"
