(The timeline is slightly different to the show but the main show but follows the story. Lorelai had slept with Christopher the night of the ultimatum but never dated or married him- very short one-stop).

Luke's

The diner had just closed for the evening and Luke was cleaning the counter tops, he was day dreaming about nothing in particular when his phone began to ring.

"Luke's diner" he answered, "Hi Luke, it's Miss Patty. I am not sure if I should be calling or not but Lorelai is sat in the park and she has been for a couple of hours. She looks like she's been crying...when I checked on her she said she was ok, but she looks really bad honey, I'm not sure why I'm calling you but maybe you could...you know...?" Miss Patty told him cautiously. "Erm...thanks Miss Patty. I will go and speak to her...I think" he replied.

Luke immediately put down his cloth and got his coat on. Although they weren't together anymore and weren't exactly friends he still cared deeply for her. He tentatively walked to the park...

Lorelai could hear someone approaching and she knew it was Luke. She could always tell when he was near. She looked up at him and he could see her eyes were red and puffy from crying. "Come to see my breakdown in the park 2.0?" she asked referring to her first park breakdown when she asked him for 30,000.

"Lorelai, are you ok?" he asked with concern,

"No" she answered without expanding,

"What's wrong? Can I help?"

"No you can't help."

"Is it Rory?" she shook her head, "your parents?" again she shook her head, "The inn?" once again she shook her head. Luke was getting frustrated with her but was trying not to show it.

"Do you want to come to the diner and get some coffee?" He asked. Lorelai was shocked at his suggestion, she hadn't been into the diner for months, she looked at him and nodded. They both walked to the diner in silence. Luke went straight to making a fresh pot of coffee, whilst Lorelai watched him. Once the coffee was ready Luke placed it into Lorelai's usual cup, she was surprised but slightly happy that he remembered which cup was hers.

Luke was the first to break the silence..."Lorelai, please tell me what's wrong..." Luke begged.

"Do you know what today's date is?" she asked him,

"Erm...June...erm...3rd?" he answered,

"Yes it's June 3rd..."

"Ok...what's wrong with June 3rd?"

Lorelai started to cry again, she was furious with Luke and she yelled "oh my god are you for real Luke? You really don't get it do you? Today was supposed to be our wedding day! Our wedding day...the day I was supposed to become Lorelai Danes".

"Oh shit Lorelai, I'm sorry I didn't realise..."

"Nope that was your problem you never realised or cared about June 3rd. Once April came into your life..."

He interrupted her..."Don't make this about April",

"It is about April. From what I've heard April seems to be a pretty awesome kid but do you mean to tell me if you hadn't found out about her then we still wouldn't have got married?"

"Well...no I guess"

"We would have been married today Luke. None of this is April's fault, I know that- it's your fault, it's Anna's fault and it's my fault but it is about April".

"Lorelai, I'm sorry. I'm sorry about everything..."

"Blanket apology...sounds about right..." she scoffed,

"I'm sorry for not telling you about April and for not letting you be part of April's life, I was worried that Anna would stop me seeing her and I was worried that April...well that she'd like you better than me..."

"Luke..."

"And I'm sorry that I pushed you away. I was wrong, I know I was..."

"What time is it Luke?"

"Erm...10:45pm" he answered with a slightly confused look.

"10:45pm...right now I would have been dancing in my pretty dress with our beautiful girls, our daughters and you would be watching us with that special look on your face from across the room, smiling...and it would be have been perfect Luke. I would have finally got what I wanted...our middle... you would have come up to me and asked how long until we could be alone...we would probably have been making love soon...our first time as a married couple.."

"Lorelai, we can still have that..."

Lorelai was completely taken aback "I'm sorry...what?"

"I still want that...I still want you...despite our issues, despite what happened with April, with Christopher I still want you...I still love you".

"I love you too Luke. I never stopped loving you".
