Chapter 1: In The Eyes Of Zekrom!
*WARNING THE FOLLOWING STORY IS MY OWN HEADCANON WICH HAVE ASH AS HOW HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE, POST DIAMOND AND PEARL, THERE WON'T BE MUCH ROMANCE, HOWEVER ASH FUTURE WILL SEE HIM IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH MULTIPLE GIRLS, SO YEAH ASH WILL HAVE AN HAREM DEAL WITH IT! ALSO NO YOU WON'T SEE THE PROTAGONIST OF THE GAMES, THEY ARE A SEPARATED UNIVERSE SO THEY DON'T EXIST. THERE WILL BE DIFFERENCES WITH THE ANIME EVEN AT KALOS ALTHOUGH IT WILL NOT SHOW MANY CHANGES. THIS IS A REWRITING DON'T EXPECT TO HAVE ASH ALWAYS WINNING AND EXPECT LOTS OF LORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND ALSO WORLD BUILDING, ASH WILL STILL PRESERVE HIS CHILDISH NATURE, IN FACT SOME CHAPTER WILL NOT FEATURE IT DIRECTLY, BUT MENTION THIS SIDE OF HIM FROM HIS TRAVELING COMPANION IRIS, CILAN AND SOME OF THE OTHER THAT ARE A PART OF THE ANIMEVERSE PROSPECTIVE, THE BATTLE CLUB WILL BE MORE FEATURED, THERE WILL BE WORLD BULDING WITH CHAPTERS DEDICATED TO OTHER PEAPLE OR LEGENDARY POKÉMON, ASH WILL FEATURE SOME MORE CAPTURE, AND THE UNOVA LEAGUE MIGHT END UP A BIT DIFFERENTLY, MAYBE WHO KNOWS?*
The Pokémon World! A mysterious yet familiar world, filled with magical creatures of all kind called Pokémon!
*Pokémon are seen flying across the globe, with forests, lakes, rivers, grassy and flowered plains, mountains, canyons, deserts, islands, villages, small towns and even big massive city, the seas and oceans that divide the lands of this massive and beatyfull planets*
Some live inside caves, hidden from the eyes and the lights of the day, coming out only in the darkness of the night, with only the low light of the moon and the stars to welcome them, others live inside of forests where they can hide better their nests, and not get spotted by their natual enemies. Others roam the lands while some live the various plains, swamps, and even using their mystical powers creating their own small habitat and defending it. Some even live only outside in the unknown to the eyes on man, with only a few blessed managing to see them, but it doesn't mean that everyone live only in such places, no others live under the water of lakes, rivers, seas, oceans even in their most dept part, a few live even inside of volcanoes! But this world isn't filled only with Pokémon, no in this world there is also another known species that lives it, humans! Humanity and Pokémon lived together since the beginning of the known history, and the relationship between the two species changed during the passage of times, for the worst, but also for the better... In the current era Humans after a rouge time period filled with wars among them, changed everything to avoid the same mistakes to happen again... Organizations that worked for the benefical future of the world came to be, this ones known as the International Police, the Jenny Regional Police Injection wich plans on making sure that in the various land specific trained and out of ordinary womans ends up working to bring Justice against criminals, and also the various Pokémon League Federations, born with the purpose to subtitute the government of some of the region wich had agreed to. 4 of this region, racently 5 after a new one appeared from gaining indipendence are known as, Sinnoh, Hoenn, Jotho, The Orange Archipelago, and Kanto home of the protagonist of our story, a young Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town with the dream of becoming a Pokémon Master! Known and loved by many in the 5 region, he traveled with friends and gained rivals, showed great hidden potential as a battler and more, symbol of improvment through time and hard work, he also managed to earn an important title in a small yet important and powerfull Kingdom wich our hero managed to create also a solid friendly relationship with it's royalty Rota, where our hero keeps his title for the second consecutive year, but this little story will be told later on in the future as it happened between the end of his journey through Sinnoh and the beginning of our Story, wich will happen beyond the common to him, in a distant land only recently opened internationally after the war that afflicted the world...
It's been a few weeks since our hero Ash Ketchum came back from his travels at Sinnoh and his separation with his most trusted traveling companion and brother figure Brock. (as the guy decided to become a Pokémon Doctor) Our Kanto native and his partner and best friend Pikachu were currently on the Ranch owned by the regional professor Samuel Oak, the 2 were currently saying goodbye to one of our hero friend called Tracey, as he and his mother Delia were about to leave the region with Oak for meeting another researcher Aurea Juniper in a land unfamiliar for the two Ketchum. Our hero and the duo of adult were now seen on a plane as Ash was watching outside of the window with his partner.
Ash: "I wonder what kind of Pokémon we will meet that we never saw! Can you feel it Pikachu this is so exciting!"
Pikachu replied with enthusiasm to his trainer leaving the two adults chuckling, same for the rest of the peaple in the plane wich however were agreeing to, indeed it was exciting and a great step toward the future, aside however from a trio in black coat that were almost entirely hidden from everyone...
???: "What a surprise the twerp and his Pikachu are here as well..."
???: "That definitly is an unplanned good twist of events, we might finally be able to take it and give it to the boss."
???: "Keep it quiet, we must move silently we are going in enemy territory with a goal, and knowing the twerp he will probably jump into our operations."
The trio nodded ending their whispered conversation...
Oak however was another story, he felt not excited, but nervous...
Oak: 'This is it... After so long, finally they opened up... However, I wonder what will change, Unova is really... Different... Ash I don't know if you will even be able to like it here, but I sure hope that the new Pokémon that lives here can bring back that spirit of yours, since...'
The professor thought while remembering an event prior to this, an event that left our hero devasted... Despite the price peaple gived him to achieve something no one was able to, Ash was not anymore as positive as before, gritting his teeth he was glad to hear that Cynthia the Sinnoh champion was able to defend her title against "him", but Ash... He was literally depressed for the first days, but it could still be seen sometime even recently that Ash was still down, after all who wouldn't, he was one of the favourites, probably one of the strongest trainer that took part in it, and he was indeed the strongest considering to have been the only one to defeat the guy Pokémon, and strike that, to defeat 2 despite losing, this literally made peaple realize just how strong the guy was, his real level of skills, sure he probably wouldn't have won against Cynthia, Oak knew that, but he would have put up one hell off a show... Oak sighed at the memories of one of the most important torunment Ash took part in, and where he was at his peak: The Lily of the Valley conference... Oak looked and saw that Ash was indeed thrilled by the prospect of meeting new Pokémon, the professor smiled in relief a fresh start away from Kanto was probably what Ash needed the most, it was cruel toward the boy mother probably, but Ash needed to step out of this state and Oak knew that events would have made it that way.
As they finally entered the Unova territory Ash saw a flock of Pokémon that he never saw flying coordinated, this immediately sparking his traveler spirit for Pikachu amusement, but suddenly Ash felt something weird making him jump a bit catching his partner attention.
Ash: "Hey buddy, did you feel that?"
Pikachu looked at him raising an eyebrow in confusion before gesturing that he hadn't felt anything, Ash looked puzzled at this before shrugging it off, maybe it was nothing... But unknown to them high in the sky black cloud of storms formed and inside it at the center a golden orb pulsed generating a lot of energy as later on in the center of it instead of the orb there was a black figure of a big black dragon Pokémon that looked down at the airplane that was now descending toward the landing strips...
As Ash Delia and Oak finally came out of the plane, Ash immediately breathed the air, still having the weird feeling that something was going on, something that put him on edge... Suddenly Pikachu ears perked up as he felt something, same happened to Ash as the two immediately dashed toward the pier leaving Delia and Oak calling as they saw the 2 separating from them. As Ash and Pikachu arrived at the edge of a pier close to a control tower for the airplanes they looked at the storm that was approaching releasing lots of electricity on the sea, Ash noticed the water Pokémon agitation as he felt something in himself clicking he was about to rise a hand, when however he and Pikachu were forced to jump away and dodge some sort of mechanical tool, Ash looked up and...
Ash: "Oh no you gotta be kidding me, HERE TO YOU 3!?"
???: "Twerp, you should always know that we 3 will forever be on you and Pikachu back."
Said a female voice.
???: "That's right twerp, so I suggest to give up, this time around we will take Pikachu to the boss."
Said another voice, but this one had a weird accent.
???: "Although we have to admit your presence here was quite a lucky shot."
Said this time a male... As Ash begun to clearly growl with Pikachu wich released spark of electricity.
Ash: "Team Rocket!"
???: "Oh look James, the twerp is angry..."
James: "You know what they say Jessie, 'anger is the first reaction toward who you fear'."
???: "Come on guys we need to focus on this golden occasion."
Ash was clearly unsettled, he did not know why, usually those 3 weren't a problem... But now everything screamed at him to take them down, and he was happy to do so, so with anger and worry filling him now Ash had only 2 thing to do... He just hoped that he could do the second one as well.
Ash: "PIKACHU THUNDERBOLT!"
Pikachu jumped in the air and gather electricity...
Pikachu: "PIKAAAA-CHUUUU!!!"
And later he released it toward the trio, wich didn't move, the moment the attack striked them dust rised, Ash thought it was over, but a mechanical arm jolted toward Pikachu.
Ash: "DODGE WITH QUICK ATTACK!"
Ash shouted in a sudden panic as Pikachu complied and swiftly dodged, as the dust was gone the 3 stood there with what seemed an Umbrella.
???: "You tried twerp, but now that we have this promotion we won't fail our boss any longer, your Pikachu is ours."
Ash growled in annoyance, as he was about to shout a comand however the storm was immediatly on top of them blinding everyone while Pikachu assumed a defenisve stence and started to charge up electricity.
James: "Hey Meowth wasn't it supposed to be a sunny spring day here and not a stormed Shamauti island apocalypse day!?"
Meowth: "To be fair with the twerp around this should have been forseen."
Ash tension was at immense level, as he looked up however he noticed the silhouette of a Pokémon and blu eyes with white dots in them that clearly spoke how the Pokémon was staring at him, he noticed how the white dots moved toward Team Rocket Ash could assume to be the pupil. Later on Team Rocket found themself striked by a puwerfull electric attack, they tried tp use their device but it instantly exploded, as the three vanished after the explosion in an immense cloud of smoke.
Delia : "ASH, PIKACHU!"
As the duo arrived they noticed that Ash and Pikachu were at the center of the storm, and they weren't the only one to arrive, as now member of a Tv Crew appeared, there were also a woman with a green outfit that seemed to be of the police forces.
???: "WE NOW SPEAK FROM OUR FIRST UNOVA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, WERE A SUDDEN INEXPLICABLE STORM APPEARED, A BOY AND A POKÉMON NOT NATIVE OF THE REGION ARE APPARENTLY STUCK IN THE VERY CORE OF IT, CONTINOUS THUNDERBOLTS SEEMED TO HAVE COMPLETELY BLOCKED EVERY POSSIBLE ESCAPING WAY FROM IT!"
Somewhere in the region the news were being broadcasted, immediately catching the attention of many peaple, not everyone but many, in particular of an old lady with some tribal clothing was now watching everything with wide eyes.
???: "It's... How? Could it be..."
The elder breathed and looked up.
???: "It's already the time isn't it... The years went by so fast... I hope she will grown up up like in the vision in his care, even if I find it hard she is still immature and has a lot to learn."
Meanwhile a woman in a jeep was driving toward the area now even faster as she noticed the storm, worries written on her face.
Ash was staring at the eyes of the Pokémon that was clearly staring back at him, the whole area was surrounded by electricity now, he felt extremely agitated by the presence, he wanted to relax a bit, but he was now facing a Pokémon, and Ash had a clear thought in mind, this Pokémon was a Legendary Pokémon, Ash could tell it, he could feel it in his whole body, especially the pressure, Pikachu decided he had enough of this silence and immediately released an extremely powerfull thunderbolt toward the Pokémon, however it did no damage instead the Pokémon roared a roar that was similar to an explosive thunder releasing more electricity and creating shockwaves, Ash and Pikachu were able if barely to hold themself, but everyone else clearly could not, strong winds camed with the roar and the shockwaves, as then the Pokémon released an attack toward Pikachu.
Light, only a pure blinding light that was all that everyone knew, a yelp from Pikachu could be heard, as a shockwave pushed everyone more back causing an explosion.
Delia: "NO ASH!"
Delia shouted in worry, when the light finally vanished all that could be seen was the presence of a lot of cracked Protect, Light Screen, Safeguard and Acqua Ring moves, Ash was surrounded by Pokémon that clearly came out of the water and were standing protectively in front of him and Pikachu, the storm clouds were gone and so was the Pokémon, Pikachu was bruised, sweating and clearly tired, but overall he was fine making Ash sighing in relief, even the pier was only barely damaged for mere luck. The Pokémon jumped back in the water not before some of them used a move that seemed to be healing Pikachu, after healing him they vanished, leaving everyone confused at what happened, aside from Delia that now was choking Ash to death in one of the tightest hug ever made, or probably she was using the move Constrict, Oak was speechless of what happened while he reached for Ash and Delia, the woman that was presenting the news was saying things no one was taking in mind, the officer now with the help of the Pokémon with her forced everyone to step back...
Ash: "M-mom p-please I c-can't b-breath!"
Ash said as now Delia released him from the crushing hug making him taking so many deep breath, that it seemed he was almost choking himself again with them.
Delia: "Ash sweetie what happened?"
Ash froze at the question, now finally able to think clearly and with the sweet air that he was breathing again, what was he supposed to do? Luckly for once even he wasn't sure of what happened after all he was bad at lying.
Ash: "I don't know, there was a Pokémon I never saw at the middle of the storm and that was creating it, it was weird, I really don't know."
Delia froze, a Pokémon was able to create such a storm!? Her face now had dread written everywere, why did it appear? What did it wanted with her son?
Oak: "A Pokémon? Are you sure about that Ash?"
Ash nodded at Oak, as later the officer and the Pokémon reached them.
???: "Excuse me sir."
The trio jumped a bit as they looked at the source of the voice.
Ash: "Oh Officer Jenny what's up?"
The officer one of the many Jenny spreaded in the Pokémon world immediately asked.
U.A. (Unova Airport) Jenny: "You said that it was a Pokémon that was creating the storm, will you be able to describe it?"
Ash crossed his arms and closed his eyes in thought with Pikachu now place on his shoulder resting.
Ash: "I'm not sure, it was hard to see it, but i remember clearly blu eyes and what seemed to be white pupils, it's shape seemed to be almost dragonlike."
The officer hummed and nodded in understanding...
U.A. Jenny: 'A dragonlike Pokémon, never heard of one able to do so here at Unova...'
"Well then thanks for your cooperation Mr Ketchum."
Ash blinked in surprise, as Oak was clearly intrigued to know that the Pokémon was apparently a dragonlike one, he thinked of a Dragonite, but the species didn' t have such eyes, even if Shiny, and weren't able to generate such power either, the Legendary bird Zapdos was out of the question, but this made him realize it, no common Pokémon could create such a powerfull storm, especially Dragon types Pokémon, it also rolled out of the question the legends that he knew of that supposedly could do such storm, but didn't have eyes like the one Ash saw... It was clear for the professor, a Legendary pokémon that he did not have knowledge of decided to apparently assault both Ash and Pikachu, Delia was trying in every way to pretend that the event instead did not have anything to do with legendary.
Ash: "Hold on how do you know me? And why the need of such formalities?"
Jenny looked at him streight in the eyes as she left a little almost invisible smirk.
U.A. Jenny: "For the first one Mr Ketchum, we have your profile, you are well known in every region among us, mainly for your cooperation in helping out against criminals of every kind and contributing to justice, many young officer and also in training Jenny knows of you, some value you as a role model and tend to train their Pokémon for battle inspired by you. For the second it's the protocols I know it must be different from the informality you've had in the other regions, but even if here things are different remember that we Jenny are always going to be your ally don't esitate to report to us, it will be a pleasure working with you. If we find any information, about the Pokémon we will contact you, Have a good day sir."
Delia was visibly shaken, she knew her son traveling meant that he might have to deal with danger, but this it's not something she liked, and wanted to hear about so many times she tried to ignore most of this, although now she had an explanation on why Pallet became apparently a point for gathering young officers in training. The officer went away followed by her Pokémon.
Ash: "Etto... Didn't know that I would have had such an impact on the officers..."
Ash said rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment as now Oak chuckled.
Oak: "Well Ash you can't expect to not be noticed, especially from them, considering that they also knows of your titles of Orange Island Champion and of your status as Technical Kanto Frontier Brain."
Ash and Pikachu looked at him with wide eyes...
Ash: "R-really? But from what you told me Unova had bridge almost totally broken with every other region in the world."
Oak: "Indeed it is true that, but the officers Jenny are an International Project part of the agreement that Unova had to accept after the war they caused, that and also the fall of the monarchy giving the power to the Pokémon League, although most of the region left all closed and a Small Kingdom here was allowed indipendence as it proclaimed itself against the war. Plus cause of this same agreement they were also forced to give to other regional champions and Elite 4 privileges."
Delia sighed she tend to forget that Ash is actually an active Champion of a recently indipendent region, it's been 2 years since the Orange Island became their own region, she still remembered when The president of the Pokémon league championships of Kanto, Jotho, Hoenn and Sinnoh made his appearance at her house, this caused Ash to have two citizenship, one at Kanto his homeland and one at the Orange Island since his role his Active, and the only reason he can act this freely it's beacouse he is too young for the position.
Ash listened to it, there were a lot of things that he did not know, well his fault for not listening at school, he knew of the existence of a war, he just did not know Unova started it, considering that for a lot of year the regions were all closed to themself was an explanation, the tension that a war bring... Ash did not know what it was for first hand, but he knew from Rota how brute one was, and he could understand the tension, trainers couldn't move as freely bewteen Kanto, Jotho, Hoenn and Sinnoh, supposedly for fears, Ash cursed internally he could not understand why doing such a thing, but he could see peaple doing them, he might not be the smartest around, but he is definitly no fool either, he knew how bad humanity could be and how low they could get, in his mind a woman with a Salamance appeared as anger was filling him, the woman he did not heard of ever again after the cataclysm happening in the Sinnoh region...
Oak: "Well is better if we go, probably Juniper will arrive soon to take us."
As Oak said mother and son agreed and begun to head toward their destination, meanwhile our familiar trio of criminals was seen hidden under the shadow of a forest nearby the airport.
James: "We were lucky to have this jetpacks, or we wouldn't have been able to escape alive from that Pokémon, whatever it was."
Jessie: "Yeah... Meowth what do you think it was? Any data from the database?"
The talking Meowth shook his head in a negative way.
Meowth: "No nothing, there were no data about it. Especially considering it was to hard to see."
There were sigh of frustration.
Jessie: "That power, it felt stronger than every electric attack I ever felt, even stronger than the one from Zapdos..."
James: "A probable major legend then, great… Why am I not surprised?"
Meowth: "Beacouse it's the twerp we are talking about, he has legends always on his back... Or actually he is always on their back... I mean come on it's obvious that we survived only beacouse the writers loves us and so do our spectators and fans."
The trio hummed looking directly at you... Yes you who are reading, they always know.
Jessie: "Look is better if we avoid the twerp and keep going with the orders, tell me what you want, but we already know that messing with major legends is always a bad thing to do, let's avoid trouble it was already enough experiencing that Team Galactic guy dying for the hand of Dialga and Palkia..."
Meowth: "And let's not forget that hell of a world! I still can't stand being close to anything reflective!"
The trio shivered and gulped remembering those events as they decided to get as far away from Ash as possible and keep going with whatever they were planning.
A couples of minutes passed by and now we see our beloved protagonist and co, waiting outside the airport close to the road, as now Oak could finally ask something.
Oak: "Ash my boy, I have a question..."
Ash was watching in awe with eyes filled with stars the Pokémon of the region with his trusted partner Pikachu, his mother chuckling softly, no metter what Ash was always going to be this way, it was also funny to see how some Pokémon in the wild were eyeing them curiously, especially Pikachu, our hero hearing the prof immediately answered.
Ash: "Sure professor... What is it?"
Oak: "It's something that it has been in my head from sometime, but till you came back from Sinnoh It became more pressing for me... Why does water type Pokémon seem to obey blindly to you, even wild one or the one that belong to other trainers, they seem to look at you differently since you, May, Max and Brock were in the end of your journey at Kanto."
Ash expression became kind of empty, something Oak noted, Delia seemed to not have noticed it, well not surprising the professor thought, there were a lot of times that Delia proved to him that she wasn't good enough at reading her son face anymore, and not only her, but also an old friend and traveling companion of Ash seemed to be ignoring things about him on purpose, saddening indeed Ash changed a lot more than what he let anyone see, probably Brock, May, Max, Tracey and Dawn close friends and traveling companions of Ash actually knows this, sure he still had that childishness in himself, something that Oak noted Ash was clearly holding onto.
Ash: "You know professor, most water type are like grass type, they tend to be less dangerous and more protective, maybe they just thought the attack could have harmed a small colony hidden around."
Ash replied with a shrug, true it made sense Oak knew this, it was especially thanks to his traveling to Kanto that Ash learned how water type tend to live in colony and are really protective of those, still even if Delia probably wasn't keen to admit it to herself, Ash was clearly being a bit deceptive, but the professor decided to not press at all, Ash had contact with Pokémon in daily biases even wild ones, the flock and the Guardian of Route 1 at Kanto were a proof of it, they tended to bring to him small harmed Pokémon of all kind, and the wild Pokémon of the city were more peacefull, he Just thought that maybe some migrating Pokémon could have told story about our hero to other Pokémon in the wild even at Unova, after all Ash became a beacon for them, and Pallet became quickly abitated by a lot of wild Pokémon that were bonding greatly with the peaple of the small town, it was so different from when everything just begun, the professor thought in nostalgy, this is what he and plenty other professors were trying to achieve... This is what the Pokémon Rangers were striving to make peaple understand, they did not notice a figure hurriedly walking toward them as they were immersed in their small conversation...
???: "Is everyone okay here!?"
The trio jumped a bit at the sudden voice and turned around, the source was a lithe woman with white skin, green eyes, poofy honey-colored hair wearing a pale greenish-blue lab coat and a white blouse, along with a short green skirt and athletic white shoes with red stripes, and red rectangular earrings in both of her ears appeared asked...
Oak: "Oh! Professor Juniper, yes everyone seems to be fine..."
The woman turned out to be Aurea Juniper sighed in relief as she now was close to Oak and Delia, while Ash and Pikachu eyed her with curiosity, as the woman noticed him she immediately went star eyed and snatched Pikachu away from his spot on Ash shoulder cowing at the cuteness of the electric mouse...
Juniper: "I can't believe I'm really seeing a Pikachu! They aren't found in Unova at all!"
Pikachu: "Piika... {Nooo look I wouldn't have guessed... It's not like everyone has been looking at us weirdly since our arrival!"}
Pikachu answered in his own linguage clearly feeling unconfortable, he usually wouldn't mind, but considering that literally every Unovan has been looking at them with look of disgust for some of them, other intrigue and curiosity, the mouse was sure of one thing, thing that even Ash was sure as hell agreed with... They weren't in the same line with the region, at least with the peaple, the Pokémon so far seemed to be the same thing, considering that all the water type Pokémon still behaved like normal...
Ash: "Ehm... Sorry for interrupt, but Pikachu is clearly unconfortable right now..."
The woman stopped as now she noticed Ash and the look on Pikachu face, before flashing a little blush of embarassment allowing freedom to the electric mouse that hopped back to Ash immediately.
Juniper: "Sorry, it's just that Pikachu aren't Pokémon that lives in the wildlife of the region, so seeing one just got me a bit excited..."
Ash laughed
Ash: "Yeah I can understand, I feel like this when I see most of the Pokémon that I didn't see in my journey, I used to act like this, but it's better be careful, a Pokémon might attack you... If you would have met Pikachu when we started traveling probably you would have received a Thundershock as a greeting hahahhaah!"
Pikachu sunked a bit in shame as he remembered the beginning of their adventure, while Ash merely scratached the back of his head in comfort.
Oak: "True, Pikachu wasn't really a friendly Pokémon..."
Oak thought with a sweat drop remembering when he captured the mouse Pokémon, Pikachu used to strike everything at sight, as now the mouse was in even more shame...
Juniper: "Oh..."
Juniper replied shivering a bit at the idea, but quickly recollected.
Juniper: "So you most be the Trainer Oak informed would come with him, and you... *points at Delia* you most be his mother right?"
Delia and Ash nodded.
Ash: "You can bet on it, I'm Ash Ketchum, and as you already learned he is my best buddy Pikachu."
Pikachu: "Pika! {Heya, just so you know, I'm hungry so when we arrive don't worry about all the ketchup in your possession to disappear!}
Delia: "I'm Delia, it's a pleasure to meet you miss Juniper."
Juniper: "The pleasure is mine, considering Oak has been talking really good about your son Ash quite a lot."
Juniper said in a bit of a cheer while Ash and Pikachu gived a pokerface at Oak.
Ash: "Really~? Etto~ I'm starting to think you are brugging with the other professors about me..."
Oak chuckled nervously with a sweat drop causing Delia to giggle.
Oak: "Blunt as always eh my boy?"
Delia: "All his mother."
Delia said giggling as Ash shrugged snickering, Juniper chuckled.
*Ash personality used to be of a really sussy guy, who roasted peaple pretty much at the perfect occasions, just look at the original series before BW ruined Ash character.*
Juniper: "Well we should get going to the lab, we can keep our talk along the way and once we arrive."
The trio sheepishly nodded as they headed with Juniper where her car was, peaple were eyeing them, and it didn't go unnotice, Ash felt clearly a tension in the air, he decided to shrug it off, but to not forget the look most of the older peaple were having, and also some younger ones, there was a look of hypocrisy, something that tickled him in a wrong way, that smug look that seemed to say they were superior for apparently no reason that he could understand made his inside burn with a familia sense of anger, on the other hand Delia close to Ash felt really frustrated, those peaple made her somehow not feel intimidated, but with a big desire to punch them, Oak and Juniper simply sighed in annoyabce and pity... As now they were on the young female professor car and were on the road there could be noticed the lack of tension and Ash was the first to speak.
Ash: "Well talk about bad impression..."
Pikachu: "Pika... {Yeah, what was up with them anyway!?}"
Ash: "Yeah, what's up with those peaple?"
Oak and Delia exhanged some glances, Ash clearly had no clue about this sort of things, after all no one was like this where he traveled...
Juniper: "Sorry about that, you see most of the Unovan don't really like Kantonian, or well anyone that isn't Unovan..."
Ash was extremely confused, aside from Pikachu, the Pokémon knew about this in a sense, there were Pokémon that were like this toward any human, and without considering the forever expanding hatred between the Zangoose and the Seviper...
Ash: "What do You mean?"
Oak sighed.
Oak: "Ash, you know about the relationship that the Zangoose and the Seviper have right?"
Ash at first closed his eyes in thought than however he opened them, remembering a certain event that happened at Sinnoh with some of his companion and a Seviper with some Zangoose, not just any Seviper, but the one of Team Rocket, he remembered hearing from Meowth and Dawn PokéDex how the 2 species were in eternal conflict, but he also remembered hearing something only Meowth said, how there was hatred between the 2 species, how they just wanted the other one gone for good for no reason other than hatred... He felt sick, there was no way humans were like this to wasn't it? For once Ash wished to not hear anything else, but he still nodded as Oak sighed and give an apologetic look at our protagonist wich had his eyed a bit low trying to hide the dread he felt.
Oak: "Unfortunately we humans have that to, most of the time never as intense like it, but other times instead it is... This was the reason that such an orrendous event happened..."
Ash felt sick, he literally felt sick, he felt both disgusted and ashemed, but most of all, furious... He couldn't understand why, why thinking like this? Why acting like this? Why doing this?
Ash: "Why? Why would peaple be like this, why would they do this... I mean I know that there are bad peaple, but I can't understand why! What is the point?"
Delia was try to comfort her son, she hoped to never have to let him know of this, the fact that Unova was finally allowing free travels with Kanto, Jotho, Hoenn and Sinnoh was great, it give her hope that things changed after so long, but she was wrong, sure there were some that did, but things weren't probably good yet...
Juniper: "Arrogance... The arrogance of thinking themselves as superior to someone else, that's what caused such things... And that is something that we all have no matter what, it's up to us to control it..."
Ash paled, and gulped memories of the first part of his journey was playing inside his head, how he acted… Arrongance, being arrogant could bring to this... Ash wasn't shaking, but he couldn't help, but feel an immense quantity of guilt in his chest, the start of his journey when he traveled with Misty and Brock, now more then ever he felt worse for being arrogant, and also was extremely glad to have met them, to have had them by his side no matter what for so long, and especially for helping him grow...
Oak: "*Cough* Of course, arrogance isn't something so lightly to defie, it's normal, but that is why the concept of traveling became extremely more pressed, main reason the Pokémon leagues and other institutions came to be, to forge the new generation and shape them so that the mistakes of the past could be avoided, by learning from a travel one could understand better himself and the world, unfortunately it isn't working like everyone hoped it would, but it is working, and you Ash my boy are a clear proof of it, although you never really were one to have a problem like this at the start, if else many kids should have been like you since the beginning."
Ash sighed with his chest still heavy, silence fell on the car as he looked toward the forest, absentmindly patting Pikachu, suddenly he noticed some deerlike Pokémon running close to the trees on the side of the road, immediately aweeing at the Pokémon Ash tried to reach for a PokéDex, internally cursing remembering he didn't have one updated with the data of the Unovan Pokémon...
Ash: "What Pokémon are those?"
Oak looked where Ash pointed grinning, a way to change the subject, perfect there was no need to think about such things.
Oak: "Oh these are Deerlings."
Ash looked at the roaming Pokémon Pikachu now on his shoulder with the same curiosity, causing the group to chuckle.
Juniper: "You know Ash, Deerlings are really fascinating Pokémon, they have something that hasn't been registered anywhere, they change aspect with the seasons."
Ash turned immediately toward Juniper Pikachu jaw dropped, Delia surprised as well, with Oak intrigued.
Ash: "Really!?"
Delia: "I didn't know a Pokémon could do that..."
Juniper chuckled.
Juniper: "Indeed, it's really fascinating, we don't know the reason behind this yet, that's why there is a research field now open on the effect the season have on Pokémon, Deerling and it's evolutionary line are the main subject for that, they are a key for a lot of mysteries if I have to say."
Ash didn't really understand most of the things she meant, but indeed it was amazing, he thought to know a lot about Pokémon and everytime he thinks that, something new appears and he is back at square zero, he started to wonder what other Pokémon lived there, what they were capable of doing, how was the region and all...
Ash now looked at his surrounding a small as they arrived in a small town
Juniper: "Welcome to Nuvema Town, here is where my family laboratory is located and where Trainers can receive their starter and also the PokéDex."
The town was small and different from Pallet, Ash hometown, for starter it seemed to be like nothing he was in most of the region he traveled on, it was more urban, less nature, it made him feel a bit, intimidated, he tried to avoid catching attention by having Pikachu hidden on his lap, but then the weird feeling he felt before landing to Unova reappeared...
The car stopped and now Ash noticed they arrived at their destination.
Juniper: "And here we are everyone, welcome to the Unova Pokémon Lab, where trainers start their journey and leave their extra Pokémon."
As the trio came out of the car with Juniper, watched the lab, Ash noticing the lack of enough space on the backyard had a clear idea in his mind, however Pikachu suddenly released some spark catching their attention as the group looked at him.
Ash: "Pikachu, you okay buddy? That spark felt anormal."
Pikachu: "Pika... Pika! {Ehm... Not sure, it did felt strange though... But i'm Ok so no worries!}"
Pikachu answered checking himself before shouting like nothing was wrong.
Ash: "Ehm, no Pikachu I'll have you checked up, can't risk anything like at Hoenn..."
Pikachu flinched, but nodded Ash got extremely weary of his Pokémon health after what happened to Pikachu beacouse of Team Rocket, the trio looked perplexed at them, especially Oak and Delia, while Juniper tried to see what could be wrong.
Juniper: "Well Ash I can offer a check up, like you said better not risk anything, come in."
Ash nodded, 10 minutes passed, as now Pikachu was attached at some machines with some wires on a small bed, and saying that he felt uncomfortable was an understatement...
Pikachu: "Pikachu... {I. Hate. This... It's so damn uncomfortable...}"
Oak and Juniper were looking with some assistents of the latest at various schreen, Ash doing the same, but not understanding a thing about them...
Ash: "What those the things in these schreens mean?"
Oak looked to be a bit struggling, at reading whatever it was, unlike Juniper and her assistents.
Oak: "Well this is new also for me, but from what I can understand it's all about the Pokémon health, and it's stats, it reports everything... Although i think that for the last part it isn't accurate to be so analythical about Pokémon, that's why I don't use most of these, main reason for Elm, Birch and Rowan as well, it's not accurate, Pokémon are lifeforms that's why battle simulators are useless."
Ash nodded, while the assistents clearly shifted in a bit of frustration, and one of them decided to speak.
Assistent: "With all due respect Mr Oak, but this data are all extremely usefull and accurate, our trainers showed that they are corrects, and therefore the true core of battling, usefull to use at the advantage of everyone, and battle simulators are as well, so everyone can be ready to defeat every gym leader."
Ash expression morphed in one of surprise, but also smug.
Ash: "Than your Gym leaders most be really though uh?"
Now the man had a smug look while Oak looked at Ash taken a back.
Assistent: "See Mr, even this kid over here recognize the truth."
Ash snickered as now Oak detected what the trainer meant, Ash was being sarcastic, and also everyone else noticed it, only the poor guy didn't.
Ash: "You know, for a smart man, you're not the brightest one around if you can't even see sarcasm when it's under your nose."
Oak chuckled, Delia giggled with Juniper, the man was totally red in his face now, as Ash smirked at him smugly, even the other assistent where snickering at the situation.
Assistent: "You little..."
Ash: "If I had a pokédollar for everytime I see someone failing miserably beacouse of such wrong institutions of Pokémon training and battles I would probably be the richest man in the world. I don't doubt that the Gym Leader might be strong and all, but if they really rely only on such things than they are fools."
Ash said without losing his snicker, Delia and Juniper watched with a sweatdrop.
Juniper: "I take he had bad experience with schools uh?"
Delia nodded
Delia: "Yeah, especially Pokémon Trainers school, from what I know he only considers Professor Rowan Summer Accademy something good, but for the rest he considers every istitutions of this kind pointless and useless, the Pokémon Tech of Kanto a clear example, don't know what caused this massive hatred toward these institutions to begin with..."
Juniper nodded, and sighed watching how one of the oldest assistent was now humiliating himself...
Assistent: "Of course you would say that, I don't know why I was expecting a kid to understand."
Oak: "And yet this very same 'Kid' has traveled across 4 region 5 if we take in consideration the Orange Island being indipendent now, and partecipated in more tournament than I can count, winning almost all of them..."
Assistent: "Oh yeah yeah, as if the trainers of those region could be even considered trainers."
Now that was the worst thing he could say, as now even his colleagues facepalmed at him, Oak was frustrated, but Ash... Ash was pissed now.
Ash: "This is what you think uh? Well then... Professor Oak?"
The kantonian professor wich was now focusing on Ash noticed something, yes he was angry, but there was also something else in his face, competitiveness, Ash has been triggered and now there was one thing that he wanted and this made Oak smirk, since his lost at Sinnoh Ash seemed less motived to battle, now yes he still hasn't gotten yet his battle spirits, but now Ash was indeed ready to take on a challenge, the one to prove that the trainers that weren't from Unova were indeed to be called trainers.
Oak: "Yes my boy, what is it?"
Ash: "Can you give me a PokéDex with all the data about Unova and it's Pokémon?"
Everyone else was taked a back by the request, as now they could understand what was on our hero mind.
Oak: "Well I can't, but I'm sure that Aurea here would be glad to have someone gather data for her about Unova and it's Pokémon, of course if she won't mind sharing them with me as well."
Ash nodded and turned toward the Unovan professor.
Ash: "So can I have one professor Juniper?"
Juniper took a few seconds to process the request, and grinned.
Juniper: "Sure thing!"
Assistent: "But Professor, these are for the new trainers!"
Juniper: "Please we have plenty of them, and they are for every trainer that has a raccomandation from us professors, now go back to check on everything that is anormal about Pikachu."
The assistent flinched and nodded.
Juniper: "Well then, Ash follow me, i'll give you your new PokéDex, and also to see 2 of the Unova starters!"
Ash nodded, but looked perplexed.
Ash: "Only 2?"
Juniper: "Yes, unluckly a couple of days ago a new trainer came and chosed the grass starter, I'm currently waiting for the arrival of the new ones from the Pokémon league."
Ash nodded
Ash: "I see, so just like at Hoenn there was the place where members of the Unova League Institution breeded and took care of the Mudkip destined for the new trainers!"
Juniper: "Oh so you are already informed about this, good! It actually counts for every starter Pokémon of Unova and the rest of the world, with well probably some exceptions."
Ash nodded as Oak intercepted
Oak: "And the Charicific Valley is one of the exception since Liza give me and the Kanto League Institution the Charmanders.
Ash: "Well it makes sense, a place full of Charizards that gives the Charmanders."
Oak nodded.
Oak: "Without considering as You know that not everyone start their journey coming to the regional professor, either you are raccomanded or you pass an exam, and not everyone receive a PokéDex as well, not even most of those who pass the exame get's it."
Delia hearing this however looked at the professor in curiosity.
Delia: "Then why did you picked up Ash, even if you barely knew him and he showed to lack pretty much all the necessary things for such a task? Sorry sweety."
Ash laughed.
Ash: "No worries, I was really reeeaaaally bad, in many ways, so none taken. Ahahah!"
Oak, grew a bit nervous, while Ash glanced at him, hiding a little snicker, knowing exactly why.
Oak: "You see... Pokémon acted just differently with him when he was really young, and I also had a feeling that there was a lot of potential in him, so I just trusted it..."
Said the professor rubbing the back of his head.
Oak: "Well now shouldn't you go and prepare for traveling again Ash? Your PokéDex won't be waiting forever."
Ash chuckled.
Ash: "Sure thing, professor! Hey buddy stay patient ok? Be back soon!"
Pikachu sighed and nodded managing a thumbs up muttering his uncomfortability under his breath.
As Ash and Juniper left the room, Oak and the assistent got back to look at the data...
Oak: "Mmh... These data are weird, can we call the Nurse Joy at Viridian city, she should have the most recent info..."
The assistent nodded, as now Oak had a really bad feeling looking at Pikachu...
Oak: 'I hope I' m wrong... But if I'm not, this time around it will be like you're really starting back from scratch Ash.'
As Oak thought ended and after a couple of minutes, we now see our hero and Professor Juniper on a room, wich at the right of the entrance door had some tables a glass doorstep that leaded on a small garden outside, while straight ahead from the door inside of said room there were 2 couch, a desk and a small library, on the desk there was a computer and other thing that belonged to the professor...
Juniper was now in front of Ash on the right area of the room (wich from our trainer point of view seemed to be almost part of an home), behind her there was the table, and on top of it 2 little blall with an half red and the other white, both devided by a black line with a white button, this small balls are known as Poké Ball, special tools that Pokémon trainer get at the start of their journey and that can also buy later on the various store, this spherical objects are specifically made to catch Pokémon and they exist since more than 400 years, but less than 700 changing and evolving through the years till they became a standard, even in the present days no one knows exactly what was the real first type of Poké Ball. With the PokéBall on the table there were also 3 device, one seemed like a watch, but for Ash own judgment could very much have been a sort of Pokétch, thinking about the watcher that he saw at Sinnoh made some memories of that journey he had there surface, twisting a bit his chest with nostalgy, but also a realization, Ash was alone for good this time, Brock wasn't going to join him out of nowhere and it actually made him feel conflicted, on one side he started to feel excited he could test himself and see how far he has come thanks to him, but on the other side he couldn't help but feel extremely worried, sure Brock forced him to learn a minimum how to cook for both him and his Pokémon, luck wanted that he was a fast learner, however he was now truly alone, no peaple to help him, Ash would be lying if he said that he didn't overused a lot Brock for many things, except directions, breaking a myth Ash had a pretty great sense of orientation, in fact he was better than Brock on that, considering that he spent a lot more time in contact with the wild and nature, remembering at the start of the journey when Brock and Misty gived him the fault for getting lost, make him feeling even more unamused toward the 2, Brock might have apologized, but Misty, she didn't even called him back after he got back to Kanto, sure she might have been busy with the Gym, but she definitly was making it hard for Ash and his uncanny ability of overthinking things. Ash hushed away his thought deciding that he did not have time to waste on such small details, he had to keep moving forward.
Juniper: "Ok Ash... Ready to meet our two starters?"
Ash nodded
Ash: "Sure!"
Juniper took 1 of the 2 Balls and lunched it on the air, from it a small quadrupedal mammalian piglet like Pokémon appeared. Its plump body, which gets fatter towards its rump, is mainly a bright fiery orange color, Its ears, forehead, backside, tail, and the tips of its front feet are black. It has long ears, large eyes with black pupils, and a distinctly pig-like pink nose with two large nostrils. It also has a short yellow stripe extending vertically across the front of its face, just above its nose, and a short curly tail with a round red orb at the tip.
???: "TEPIG!"
Ash kneeled down and smiled at the Pokémon, as he started to pet him, needless to say to Pokémon eyes got shiny at the gentleness of Ash touch and immediately begun to jump in excitement.
Ash: "Hahaha look at you, filled with a lot of energy, you most be a fire type right?"
On cue the Pokémon immediatly perked up excited and snorted an attack made of little embers straight in Ash face, making Juniper pale in worry, but Ash was higly unafflicted in fact he shaked it off and had no damage on his face as he laughed.
Ash: "HAHAHA Nice ember! You definitly have what it takes to be a battler, but you need to work hard to get stronger, I hope that whoever is going to be your trainer it's gonna take good care of you, and that you also take good care of them!"
Tepig eyes were swelling with joy and pride, as he chanted another ember excited.
Ash: "So who's the ne- ehm... Professor Juniper are you alright?"
Ash asked the professor that was basically freaking out.
Juniper: "Me all...right? YOU JUST GOT ATTACKED BY A FIRE ATTACK AND SHAKED IT OFF WITHOUT ANY RIPERCUSSION!!!"
Ash sweatdropped, and rubbed the back of his head.
Ash: "Oh, that... Eheh well I've always been like this, plus I have a Charizard that literally use flamethrower on me everytime he has an opportunity to do so... Normally fire type snort flames toward someone to show off their strength, especially pridefull warriors, it's rare for them to have a different behaviour, and trying to block it would only make the Pokémon more conflicted with himself and also lose trust toward you."
Juniper flinched and blinked at Ash than at the starter that was nodding and snorting amber in a very passionate way, but in her mind there was just one thing...
Juniper: 'How is it, possible!? There are humans that showed to have ability to resist some pokémon moves, but never to be totally unafflicted by it, especially fire type moves!'
Juniper was staring at Ash in disbelief, and also started then to process what was just told her, she did not know what to think of this information, between it being cool or totally against the laws of nature, she sighed now intrigued by this uncanny ability that our Kantonian had, remembering to have read something related to it on some ancients scripts with someone important to her...
Juniper: "Ok, sorry for yelling, i wasn't expecting it..."
Ash chuckled nervously and embarassed waving the thing off as no problem, after all it wasn't the first time a thing like that happened to him.
Juniper: "Well then, Ash coming back to the starters you are correct, this one is Tepig the fire type starter of the Unova region, now proceeding to the other one..."
Juniper took the other Poké Ball, and launched it, the moment it opened a bipedal, mammalian sea otter-like Pokémon with furs covering its entire body wich different in base of the body part, white fur on its face and arms, light-blue fur on its chubby torso and a dark blue tail, feet and ears. It also has a tan-colored scallop shell attached to its stomach.
???: "Oshawott!"
The Pokémon came out trying to look cool by moving around the scallop in a very swordlike way, trying to impress everyone, but he only left Tepig with a sweat drop.
Juniper: "This one is the water starter Oshawott, the scallop that he uses is a special tool called scalchop that his species is able to regrow in case it get lost."
Ash kneeled toward the water type and began to pet him leaving him star eyed.
Ash: "Wow, you're really cute Oshawott, and also extremely dedicated I know that you can become stronger than ever, I wish i could be the trainer that has the luck to train you."
Oshawott started to blush and rub the back of his head embarassed, but in reality, he was crying inside of both joy and sadness as this guy wasn't a trainer here for him, but was actually the only one who saw that he had potential...
Juniper looked at Oshawott a bit saddened.
Juniper: "Unfortunately it isn't the case, as you know here at Unova everyone base their choices out of the data of the starter, and this Oshawott unluckly has the lowest ones and had been rejected by everyone..."
Ash widened his eyes as now Oshawott sitted on the ground having tears falling down from his eyes...
Ash: "Than the data are wrong, and also the opinions of the rookie are as meaningless as said data, every Pokémon has an hidden potential that can come out only with good training and dedication. Oshawott don't ever believe on those who tell you otherwise, I know that there is a lot you can give and that when the day will come you are going to stand on top!"
The water starter was looking at Ash with tears coming out of his eyes in a comical yet cute way, as now the starter became a overdramatic crying mess leaving Ash and Tepig sweat dropping , with the latter patting Oshawott on his shoulder.
Juniper found herself blinking in surprise, but nonetheless she smiled...
Juniper: 'If only there were more trainers thinking the same way you do Ash, but unfortunately they are really a few... Still, i really hope that you are right about Oshawott, this one has been refused by a lot of trainer...'
Juniper coughed to gain Ash attention as Now he had Oshawott placed on his head misteriously without any sign of crying, for Ash surprise.
Now our hero having his attention back to Juniper, noticed the woman had on her hand now a small device.
Juniper: "Here is your new PokéDex, but first can you give me your old one?"
Ash perplexed nodded, taking out from his pockets another small device handling it to the professor, after pressing 2 button the PokéDex had some weird lights beeping activated as a voice came out from Ash old PokéDex.
SinnohDex: "Information transfer process initiated, from Model Aurora constructed by Nanakamado Rowan and Samuel Oak begun... Waiting please..."
*Note, at the beginning of the anime for how the PokéDex was implied in the anime, it was more than a simple encyclopedia and had in fact an IA installed within it, in my fiction that concpet doesn't get lost, in fact the IA it's different with every PokéDex in base of the owner, the SinnohDex model name Aurora is inspire by Aurora the Roman goddes of dawn, considering Sinnoh being considered the place where all the world was created since the existence of Mt. Coronet I decided this inspiration by the Concept of the dawn of the world, the beginning or also origin. There might be in a one shot series about the various IA that Ash had with the various PokéDex and what they thought of him.*
Ash blinked, he always had Oak or another professor taking and do everything so he did not know that this happened, when he left for Sinnoh, Oak asked Ash to give back the PokéDex since later on he would have got a new one there, he never first hand saw the process of informations transfer with his own eyes, but what he heard next was enough to make his blood chill with existential dread, as now Ash was praying in his head everything was just a bad dream fruit of a wild Darkrai...
UnovaDex: "Information Transfer process completed successfully, the user Ash Ketchum is once again under the care of the model Dexter, for my own disgrace considering how reckless he is..."
Aurora(SinnohDex): "Agreed, the level of danger that this child met with me was worse than being around 10 Absol..."
Ash had now a thick mark, while Juniper blinked...
Ash: "Come on, It wasn't so bad at Sinnoh, and it's good to be with You again Dexter... I didn't hope to not have you and your unnecessary comments around anymore, not at all..."
Dexter: "Alas, it seems that your level of sarcasm have finally reached a decent number, so you did learn something around me... I don't know if being proud or not since you apparently learned more around lesser IAs."
Aurora(SinnohDex): "To some degrees I agree Sinnoh was a positive experience for me, but do I have to remind you of everything that has happened, I have a log that could take an entire day to be listed at voice."
Juniper: "Ash, do i need to worry?"
Ash: "Nope, they are just over exaggerating everything."
Dexter: "From my experience, being around this disaster magnet is all but a good experience, it's a miracle that I the greatest PokéDex IA haven't gotten destroyed."
Aurora(SinnohDex): "Aw come on, you're being just your usual over dramatic self-centered narcisistic self with a superiority complex here... I believe the biggest miracle is how Ash managed to resist the urge to throw you into a Machamp."
Dexter: "He was too much committed to being beated up by his angry Primeape and roasted alive by his over-sized flying fire lizard."
Aurora(SinnohDex): "Why am I not surprised that he managed to make a Primeape his mortal enemy?"
Dexter: "Why should you be surprised?"
Aurora(SinnohDex): "Touché... Moving on I would like to make a personal request to be transfered into a device and follow Ash to be able to attain to my task of following his progress and reporting them to Nanakamado Rowan."
Juniper still trying to process everything with Ash that was clearly frustrated while the starter were extremely confused, she breathed in and out...
Juniper: "Sure there are 2 Device that I still have to give him, so I'll connect you there, but Ash in that case needs to keep it's old dex for keeping the data, but I'll explain better in a moment, why would Rowan be so interested on him, the last one that gained his interest was Sycamore years ago, and even then Rowan had no interest on anyone else other than him..."
Dexter: "Alas that is something that I would like to know as well, there is mathematically no point on checking this idiot."
Ash nerves were being tickled to much for his own liking.
Ash: "Tepig will you do me a favor and burn that piece of metal till it can't talk anymore?"
Dexter shouted immediately afterward.
Dexter: "Don't you even dare, I am a masterpiece of technology stay away from me with your flames!"
Tepig and Juniper sweat dropped while Oshawott and Ash were laughing wholeheartedly even Aurora the SinnohDex was giggling.
Aurora(SinnohDex): "Back to the important things, after the surprisingly high grade that Ash gained in Rowan Summer Accademy the professor took interest in Ash, especially after he showed to have some knowledge about physics."
Dexter: "WHAT-!? Bzztt-"
Suddenly the PokéDex after shouting ended up turning itself off as now Juniper noticed that the calor was increasing immediately putting it somewhere as now steam came out of it.
Juniper: "It almost short circuited..."
Everyone sweat dropped at Dexter reaction.
AshAurora(SinnohDex): "Same old Dexter, he never change..."
The two said unison as Ash had a pokerface...
Ash: "So... I'm without a PokéDex now?"
Juniper shook her head negatively.
Juniper: "No, don't worry, the PokéDex have been built recently with a safe system that activates in case of short-circuit like you're seeing now, but it is to much complicated for one that isn't expert in technology, so I won't bother to explain it."
Ash nodded relieved that he still had a PokéDex, even if it was Dexter...
Juniper: "Well, I'm surprised, do you really know about physics?"
Ash rubbed the back of his head.
Ash: "Well apparently, I didn't even know until it was told me that it was physics, and even so I can't really explain it at words, it's just so complicated..."
Juniper hummed...
Juniper: 'Having some form of knowledge, but being unable to explain it becaouse to complex to do so, considering what Delia said it doesn't surprise me, it was rare for someone to not come back and restart school after competing and living has a trainer, actually it still is, even if there are those who kept up being a trainer they did started a normal study camp, usually a lot of trainers just gived up unable to keep the pressure, or weren't made for being trainers... Well it's something that you can learn with time, if you learned apparently about physics...'
*For those who might Ask, Ash does indeed shows during the whole DP anime to do know physics without realizing it, in fact Pokémon moves can be considered a part of the Pokémon world that only a physicist could study since the moves functions following the principle of Energy and other conditions that enter within the field of physics, in the anime 2 confirmed Physicist in fact are Newton Graceland, and Tonio the latest in fact studies literally how the forms of energies moves and works in his lab at Alamos, while Newton created the artificial method to enter the distortion world that he is studying... Also Kukui could be considered a physicist since he studies Pokémon moves in the game. So before anyone of you start to say crap about Ash, remember that this fiction is made of: One to have the original Ash who showed traits of growing from the original series, were Ash literally demonstrated to know physics by creating moves like the counter-shield and Ice acqua jet, that no to be perfect they don't require just spinning around, they require the right spinning force to works, and also the right amount of energy for the moves to be used, Dawn was able to replicate it out of the fact that the Pokémon who uses them are just like Pikachu, similar weight and height, this allowed them to replicate it with ease, if the Pokémon was another one it would have been harder, plus it was left implied that Ash had spent a lot of time and patience to perfectionate such moves, so don't fucking count the Ash we saw in the latest 2 generations of the anime, wich are just cancership and proof of incompetence that the anime director and writer have.*
Juniper was having the SinnohDex and doing something with 2 device, as a couple of minutes passed she had finished, and now handled the first one to Ash, to him it actually was fairly familiar, it reminded him of the Pokétch, maybe this was a new version-
Juniper: "This Ash, is the Xtransceiver"
Nervermind it wasn't definitly a Pokétch...
Ash: "Cross-transceiver?"
*Despite being spelled Xtransceiver, it's pronounced Cross-transceiver, for those who don't remember or don't know*
Juniper: "this special device was made for allowing easy communication with everyone that lives inside the Unova region, meaning that it's like a phone, the ones wich allow us to do videocalls."
Ash: "Wow, that's amazing!"
Juniper chuckled.
Juniper: "Yes and not only that, you see this one is a new version that me and a friend are finishing building, that's why I gived it to you, since I can't move from my lab, you can keep it, but in exchange since it needs to be finished you have to take it to her, I also installed Aurora your SinnohDex IA into It."
Ash watched in awe as now he equipped the Xtransceiver, it immediately turned on, revealing the time and date.
Juniper: "While this one is the Map of the region."
At Ash was handled the second device, as he opened it noticed just how big the region was, feeling already extremely excited, although he noticed that a location at the core of the region was treated differently, the map almost looked like it had no info about it, the place was called Kingdom of the Vale... As Ash read it his mind instantly clicked remembering what Oak told him, Ash connected it to be the same kingdom.
*Considering in the Movie was left unclear the position in wich the Kingdom of the vale is, I decided to put it at the place of the Entralink.*
Juniper: "So remember Ash, go to my friend so that the Xtransceiver can be ultimated, her name is Fennel she live in Striaton city, where she has her small lab, for your luck there is also a gym there."
Ash nodded.
Ash: "Got it! Thanks for all of this, you shouldn't have really..."
Said Ash embarassed.
Juniper: "Don't worry Ash, only the better experience for a future Pokémon Master!"
Said Juniper grinning, she recalled Tepig, but as she was about to do the same to Oshawot one of her assistents arrived.
Assident: "Professor Juniper, both you and Ash are needed to be present, it's about the Pikachu."
This caused the professor to get intrigued, but Ash was now washed with pure concern for his partner life, Oshawott was different however, he was just confused, who was Pikachu, why was this guy concerned, and most of all, what the heck was even a Pikachu?
-Outside of the Lab-
A golden orb appeared high in the sky, temporal clouds formed surrounding it, than in a blink of an eye the same dragonical figure Ash saw appeared, the Pokémon gazed at the laboratory as now from within its eyes we can see it's able to see the inside, he could see the peaple, but in a different way, their body seemed to be on fire with some form of energy, but among them all 2 figures were brighter and one of the two was like a wild undomable crystal blu flame.
-Inside the lab-
Ash with Oshawott on one of his shoulder, and Juniper were now back in the room where Oak, Delia and the assistents were...
Ash: "WHAT!?"
Ash shouted as Pikachu was now on his knees cuddled on himself with tears of despair.
Oak: "You hard me right Ash, by comparing the two information and looking in the right place there are no doubts, Pikachu lost his ability to use electric types move and not only that, but his physical also was afflicted, it's like Pikachu out of nowhere lost almost all the ability he learned, in other words... This time around the two of you will really starts from scratch."
Ash had an horrified look...
Ash: "Everything we worked so hard to achieve... Years... YEARS OF TRAINING AND LEARNING TOGETHER GONE!"
Pikachu rised and begun to try hard to generate an electric move, he tried to use Thunderbolt... Nothing happened... He tried again... Nothing happened... Pikachu was panting now as he collassed on his knees and dramatically shouted at the sky.
Pikachu: "PIKAPIKAAAAA!!!!! {FFUU*!!!!!!}
Ash: "How did this happen?!?"
The assistent could only shrug, Juniper was in disbelief, it was impossible, a Pokémon couldn't lose out of nowhere it's abilities... Couldn't it right?
Oak: "... I don't know, for a Pokémon to lose the capacity of using an element it's rare, it can grew weaker if not trained for long, that's sure and you know that, but naturally a Pokémon rarely lose the ability to use an element, in other word a type unless he can't use that type to begin with-"
Ash was gritting his teeth, but something clicked on his mind, an event happened at Sinnoh wich involved a Pokémon that he befriended...
Ash: "Wait a second... That's actually impossible!"
The presents were confused by Ash statements, even Pikachu who perked up at hearing this, why would this be impossible?
Oak: "Ash, my boy what are you talking about, there have been proof that it can happen."
Ash: "Wich is why I'm stating that it is impossible, the energy of the Pokémon type are directly connected to the soul of a Pokémon, if for some reason a Pokémon lose even just one of these energies the Pokémon can't survive unless it's a legendary, and even than not all the legendary can survive such a thing!"
Oak blinked at Ash, and stared at him, same the other assistent, even Delia.
Aurora(SinnohDex): "I can confirm what the user Ash Ketchum is saying, from the data gathered in the Sinnoh region it has been proved that loosing the energy to a Pokémon causes it to die based on it's species, especially if totally deproved from the ability to generate such energy."
The IA talked through the Xtransceiver stated, as now everyone had eyes wide open and started to talk among themselves.
Assistent: "This is groundbreaking! A discovery of such a thing why has it not yet been published!?"
The IA did not answer, as now Oak had a clear idea of why the silence, it involved something that was supposed to stay secret...
Oak: "Forget that, we have a better question that need to be answered, what is exactly happening than? We need to look better into it... Ash when was last time Pikachu used electric types moves?"
Ash assumed immediately a thoughtful expression.
Ash: "It was right at the pair, Team Rocket followed us yet again to try and steal Pikachu, so you know the deal..."
Oak and Delia nodded as now however everyone else was confused.
Juniper: "Team Rocket? Never heard of them."
Oak: "They're a criminal organization active in Kanto and Jotho wich steal Pokémon and has an entire business on it, currently 3 of the most idiot member of said groud stalks Ash since he begun his journey to steal his Pokémon and always failing..."
At Oak summary everyone froze from Unova froze with dread, but ironically even Ash felt a bit of dread by the presence of the trio here, something about them was different, and Ash doesn't like it.
Oak: "Wait, when we arrived Team Rocket wasn't around so-"
Assistent: "THIS IS SERIOUS THE POLICE HAS BEEN WARNED RIGHT!?"
Oak blinked and even Delia did so...
Oak: "If it's the trio we are talking about, there is nothing to worry, they have proved time and time again to not have been worthy the waste of time, they aren't a problem, unlike the rest of the organization, but don't worry I'll warn the officers after we finish here... Anyway I presume you blasted them off like the usual?"
For once Ash found himself not believing what he was thinking, but this time around for Ash confusion the trio didn't felt like a nuisance, but like a real problem, something he had to keep eyes on, wich meant only one thing, Ash couldn't allow to let them do what they wanted, but for now he decided to let them be, maybe he was wrong, but his experience at Sinnoh, made him extremely more weary, especially beacouse something else has been on his mind, and it has been eating causing him a lot of worry... No he had to focus on the present, Ash breathed as now he had a clear picture of the events at the pier...
Ash: "No i didn't blast them off, it was that Pokémon-"
As Ash was talking about the event he froze... The Pokémon...
The storm was now high in the sky above the laboratory, out of the sight, the Pokémon in it breathed... *
That Pokémon-
The Pokémon assumed a stance...*
Ash started to pant, what was happening, he felt weak all of a sudden, without considering that now he could hear only one thing-
-Somewhere else at Unova in a laboratory...-
???: 'This data... Nuvema town? First the airport now there? Mmmh better check it out...'
We found ourselves in a room with only one scientist that begun to press some buttons on what looked like a big control panel, as in the space a satellite was seen adjusting itself and pointing what looked like the lent of a telescop down on a determined position, while the scientist now was jaw dropping, on the big screen several complicated thing appeared...
???: "O. My. God... This is... Impossible, how there can be an infinite amount of electric energy? And this flows, they don't make sense! No natural phenomenon can cause this, even the reports of Thunderous pale in comparations to this ones!"
Suddenly in his screen various notes appeared, as now the scientist was pale...
???: "other similar energy signatures!? One in the desert, 2 are inside the Kingdom of the Vale, one in the Giant Chasm and also one at Mistralton!? T-this is... I need to tell everyone about th-..."
Suddently a melody played out, peacefull quiet, as the scientist in the room fell asleep while the grate of the ventilation ducts was being removed, a figure wearing black clothes was now inside the room, with him there was a small plant like Pokémon similar to a bulb, the man had soundproof headphones and recalled the Pokémon into a weird looking ball, he got close to the panel and took out from a pocket a cubic device, he pressed a button, the device activate slamming tendrill inside the control pannel, as suddenly the immagine in the screen after glitching out was substituted by a big R.
???: 'Perfect, we are in... What a lucky shot, we can take control of the satellite like this...'
The man started to press buttons as well, as now several files named Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus appeared, but he did not stop there not at all, the man had now a mini computer turned on connected with the cubic device, after a bit he pressed the keyboard he smirked, he took his time to look at the screen and the informations with it...
???: 'This was unexpected, but definitly not unwonted, Infinite types of energy in this locations uh? Mmmh the boss will be glad to know... So we will have more chance to take over the world.'
After a bit the man managed to achieve what he wanted and coming back in his foot, he left the room leaving it unscathed like no one was there to begin with, but he did not noticed that in the room a small invisible device filmed everything...
-Middle of the ocean-
We found ourselves in an unknown location, the room had just a desk with a computer and a chair, a library filled woth books, sitted on tha chair looking at the computer in the dex a Man with blond eyes wearing black clothes was doing something... Suddenly a door opened and now another man, younger entered...
???: "Ah Colress, I hope everything is proceeding as planned..."
The man said polintly at the other one, wich wear a white lab coats, have glasses and was holding a Tablet.
Colress: "Yes everything is proceeding as planned with our plans, but unluckly we have found a big hole in our plan."
The man stiffed, and glared at what looked like a scientist.
???: "Explain yourself."
Colress: "Perhaps you should watch it yourself..."
On the monitor of the Man appeared the image of what was happening inside the the laboratory, the intrusion by the man wearing black clothes, the big R appearing in the screen wich made him wide his eyes and gritting his teeth in both concern and fury, but was pleased to hear about the Infinite energies and their locations...
???: 'I see... So you finally decided to come here Giovanni... Well then let's make things clear... Unova and this world belongs to me.' "Colress I've seen enough. You can go, but keep an eyes on that grunt."
The man nodded.
Coolress: "I'm already on work, old friend."
As Colress said this he left leaving this unknown figure smirking...
-outside in the same unknown place-
Coolress now was face to face with another man in the open sky, this one had different black clothes and a weird coat-of-arms of a P.
Coolress: "Listen up, you have to play it carefully, there has been a breach and now we have ourselves a new enemy, tell the sages to be carefull, and that you will send them more informations about the places where to act, play it safely don't let Him know."
The other man nodded as he left, Coolress smiled, he was alone and the breeze was nice, he then turned his head down to his tablet, looking at an image of our hero...
Colress: 'Ash Ketchum, I can' t wait to test you out myself, let's see if you really are up to your fame.'
The man smiled as now it was seen in the tablet the events playing against our team rocket trio, revealing that Coolress had been spying Ash as he could see what was happening inside of Nuvema...
-Somewhere else-
The schreen had footage playing about league battles, but this ones were particular, they were Ash battle, a Man smiled as he watched Ash and his Pokémon while drinking some coffee...
???: 'Ash... Yes you would be perfect, i just have to find a way to make you come to me... You will be humanity new ruler in Utopia.'
-Back to the lab-
Delia was holding Ash with Oak, our hero was was holding his chest and head, Pikachu and Oshawott extremely worried, the assistent were in panic...
Ash couldn't hear anything, his mind seemed to be on fire and so his chest, suddenly sounds of thunder were heard, the lab was being surrounded by the storm caused by the unknown Pokémon, our hero kept feeling the weird continuous heartbeat in his head leaving him confused, Pikachu than begun to get surrounded by electricity, several explosing thunders were heard... Not to far away a young girl saw the events...
???: "What's going on over there!?"
It was sudden everything that could be seen was that the electronics equipment was literally exploding, the entire room was surrounded by electricity in general, Pikachu was twitching of clear distress and pain, Ash instead started to feel better, but what he saw was different from what he expected, it was like everything was covered in mist, but he clearly wasn't anymore in the lab, he saw ahead of him what looked like a lake and a weird gray tree with black and white flowers right in the middle of it, the sky too was weird, in fact there was the moon... Ok it was normal it's just the moon... If it wasn't that one it was still day, two that the moon was literally there with the sun at the same time, without considering that someone the stars could be seen as well! Ash tried to move but he couldn't, he tried again... Still no use, it was than that he noticed a figure coming out of the mist, it was a man, but his clothes were on an era that Ash could only collegate with the capital of the Rota kingdom, ancient and somehow regals, the man had black hair and white eyes, he was now close to Ash, his body was almost not even totally existing as some part of it were literally made out of the same gray mist wich was everywhere...
???: "So..."
Ash eyes widened, he was talking as he moved his arm with an extended palm almost trying to touch our hero.
???: "Zekrom chosed you... May your Ideals be strong enough young one, we will meet again when the time will come."
As the man said that everything faded to black as our hero apparently passed out...
Who is this mysterious Zekrom? What does he want with Ash? Who was the man that talked to him? What did he meant? Who is Colress and what does he wants with Ash? And expecially who are the peaple that are moving in the shadows, and what is their plan? Will Pikachu be ok? And especially, what has Unova stored for our trainer? Find it out as the Journey to become a Pokémon Master continue.
