Lion the Cat

Summary: Cat's weren't meant to live as long as Tony Stark's cat did. Her long lifespan was because she was a human in her past life. Or, the one where Tony Stark has a cat. (OC reborn as a cat) (One-shot)

Whenever the question of how old Stark cat comes up and the answer was given it was always shock to the people who hear it. Granted, house cats do live a long life compared to the street cats, but not as long as Tony Stark, cat Lion had lived for.

Tony had known his cat since he started MIT. She had followed him around the building. No, he didn't give her any food, or even any water and even tried to shoo her of more than once, but the cat was always there. The tabby cat never left Tony side and Tony ended up finding himself calling it Lion.

Nobody really too sure on why his cat hadn't died, but Lion is still very much alive, extremely protective and depending on who you asked extremely dangerously.

So, yes Tony Stark has a cat that has not fallen of the perch, nor did she looked like she was ready to die any time soon. And, no he isn't going to let science do their research on her to find out why she hadn't died yet. They're going to have to fight Iron man if they dare wanted to go near that cat with so much of a needle.

Beside they would never find the answer they're looking for.

Only Lion has her theories on the matter and that simply due to reincarnation. She was once a human after all, now do you mind. She has to get back to cleaning her fur and maybe ask Happy for some extra treats. No, Tony she does not need to go on a diet.

Obadiah walk through the halls of Stark tower. At least he tried to because everywhere he put his foot there was a dumb cat toy in his way.

He's almost tripped three times, nearly twisted his ankle and was downright furious. Can't Tony pick up after her?

Why is it when Obadiah was around did, the cat toys magical get all over the place. Ms. Potts had told him once that Lion was a very neat cat and didn't leave her toys around for people to trip over.

So, why was it just him having to walk through the maze of cat toys in every direction?

"Meow."

He's never hated an animal in his life, but he did not at all like Lion and once Tony was gone, he's going to remove that stupid cat. If she does have nine more lives than he would just remove her again.

At least she was just walking by him and not causing trouble. Tony didn't believe him last time when she tripped him on purpose.

"Sir, do watch out…"

It was far too late because Obadiah ended up on the cold hard floor, tripping over a cat bowl.

He swears that cat bowl was not there a second gone.

"Meow."

Lion now sat on his head before walking on his back and he held back a scream when he felt the cat claws sinking into him.

Why does he get a feeling that cat holds a grudge against him? Is this because he forgot to feed her when Tony was away that one week? Even his godson wanted nothing to do with him afterwards.

Happy attempt to hold the cat still, but she moved out of his way jumped on his head and out the car.

She wasn't even meant to be in the car in the first place.

"Boss, Lion followed me by mistake."

"Meow."

Lion strolled up to Tony and rubbed herself on his legs while making it to the plane. Tried to at least before Tony pulled her back.

"Sorry, Lion you have to stay here. Afghanistan is no place for a cat."

"Meow," she sounded almost sad.

"I'll be back before you know it. Happy got the cat crate?"

Normally they would never place Lion in the crate, but during these moments they have to because there's no doubt, she would be on that plane following him.

"No, boss."

Tony passed her too Happy.

"Keep an extra eye on her then." Rhodey said. "Or, she, find a way to Tones. She always does."

"Not always Rhodey."

"Meow," Lion said. Almost as if she had even admitted that she did.

One time she ended up on the other side of the country just to find him.

"Don't worry Miss. Boss, sir be back before you know," Happy said trying to calm down the cat.

"Meow," Lion said sadly watching them go.

Tony went missing and Lion indeed noticed. She waited at the door, waiting for Tony and almost tried to escape more than once.

It indeed made the headline.

Cat proves to be just as loyal as dogs.

Cat waiting for her human. Will Tony Stark ever return?

One day she did get out.

And, that's how Rhodey found himself looking for his best friend with a cat.

"I don't know who's worse," Rhodey said. "You or Tones."

She purred.

"Oh, no. You don't get to be like that with me. I am not falling for your mind tricks."

She kept purring.

Rhodey sighed and scratched her behind the ear.

"Fine, you win this round."

"Meow."

She must be good luck because it was the same day where Rhodey actually found Tony Stark. He was also a bit insult that Lion got more attention.

Cats like music.

Maybe not all of them, but Lion did because as Tony Stark is trying to test his Iron man suit. Lion is headbanging her head to ACDC.

Tony lost control of his suit. Lion duck out of the way and then proceed to headbang. Not at all worried about Tony trying not to run into her with an iron suit.

Look out for that wall! And, the car, crap the glass window. Why did he test run this thing in a room filled with objects?

When Obadiah got Tony Stark paralyzer and was ready to ripped out his heart he had forgotten about Lion.

It was only for a second, but that second was far too long because the next thing he knows a tabby cat is clawing out his eyes.

He's screaming and trying to get the beast of him and by the time Rhodey arrived to help Tony. The damn cat was still ripping out his eyes before he finally ended up slipping on a food dish.

As he hit the floor, he heard that beast hissed, before it was suddenly purring no doubt to Tony.

Obadiah was not a cat person.

Pepper couldn't believe that Tony told the world that he was Iron man and no Lion she can't pet you at the moment this is an import moment in history. And, no Happy don't give her those treats she meant to be on a diet.

Phil has a problem.

It isn't too much of a problem just a little problem.

"Is that Stark cat?" Clint asked.

"Meow," the cat said.

It was looking at Phil for food, but he didn't have food, but that wasn't the problem.

The problem was when Phil went to question Tony about his time in Afghanistan, he accidently brought Tony Stark, cat back to base with him.

He swears he didn't mean to bring her back with him.

"Maybe if we ship her of in a box Stark won't notice she missing," Agent Hill said.

"Meow."

She purred against Clint leg.

Huh, go figure the cat likes Clint.

Clint don't pat it and he, pats her.

"Can someone explain to me why Iron man is threatening to blow up this base?" Fury asked as he and Natasha walked in.

"Phil stole his cat," Clint said pointing the blame to Phil.

He didn't steal it.

He just didn't see it.

Fury turned to glance at the cat.

"Meow."

The computers around them started to glitch and Tony Stark was suddenly on all of the screens.

"I'm not saying I won't blow you all up. Will actually I am, but here's the thing if someone stole Lion do step up now before I either a, blow up the whole base, or b steal all your information and there's a lot of information on here. It would be a shame if someone used it to blackmail or worse, delete it."

"Meow."

Phil has never known the base to be under attack because of a cat. It was safe to say the cat was quickly passed over back to Stark with a note attached to her, explaining how she followed one of their Agents to the base. No, they didn't steal it.

During Stark Expo where Tony is doing his show, he should've known better not to leave Lion behind because naturally she'll come and find him.

"It's great to be back!" he said to the audience who cheered.

Lion hopped on the stage and meow, standing in front of Iron man proudly.

Show of.

Ivan Vanko was more of a bird person.

He didn't really like cats, but Lion wasn't too bad.

She was a fairly cute tabby cat and the oldest in the world.

He isn't too sure how she's not dead yet, since Stark had her since he was at MIT, but it does not matter because she likes stretches behind the ear.

Her fur is very soft and well looked after.

Stark might be a murderer, but at least he treats animals correctly.

"Ah, hello? Aren't you trying to kill me?" Iron man asked.

Ivan did just stop a whole race after all to kill Iron man, but he got distracted simply because of this lovely cat.

"You're a very wise creature aren't you."

"Meow," she said with a purr.

"Um, boss, do we arrest him?" Stark body guard asked.

Ivan Vanko wasn't too happy about being placed in jail later that day because he wanted to pat Lion some more.

Thinking about the cat made him miss his bird.

He likes his bird.

He wanted his bird with him.

Why didn't he take his bird with him?

"Is anyone even listening to this case at all?" Senator Stern asked.

Stark was no doubt drunk or passed out asleep, maybe both while all eyes had turned on Lion who took the spotlight far too seriously.

Showing of her good side to the press.

"If it helps, I'm listening sir," Rhodey said.

"I thought cats weren't even allowed inside the building." Hammer said.

There not, but much like her human Lion wasn't going to listen to rules.

When Natasha worked undercover at Stark tower, she found herself staring at a cat.

"Meow."

Lion tail flipped back and forth and then it stopped. She walked towards Natasha rubbing herself on the woman and purring.

"I just don't understand why she didn't attack Ivan," Happy voice was heard coming down the hall.

"I don't know, maybe he isn't too much of a threat."

"Boss he came at you with golden whips."

"Meow," Lion said.

Leaving Natasha behind and running of to find Stark.

Did that meant Tony Stark was able to join the team simply because he actually cared about a cat? Natasha might need to redo her report.

Tony didn't throw a big part when he was dying. He was just happy to spend time with Lion who enjoyed the attention. He knows she senses something is wrong and he tried to tell her that everything would be okay. Until he ended up making a new element and saving himself in the process. At least he knows for a fact that he would be okay from then on.

"Meow."

Yeah, yeah, he knows dinner time.

Hammer not even too sure how that cat ended up in his building. Also is that said cat holding a USB.

Maybe it was actually some sort of AI.

It could possibly be it was Stark cat after all because there is no way that it's possible for a cat to hold a USB in her mouth.

Then it dawned on him.

That cat had all of Hammer plans and data.

Stark could destroy him if he got his hands on that cat.

"Stop that cat!"

His body guards leaped into action, but so did Lion. She leaped away from them, jumping on their heads or even scratching out their eyes.

All of his guards we're soon on the ground. Furious at the outcome he attacks, but stop Ivan Vanko was in his way looking very upset with Hammer.

All while Lion strolled out of the building with his plans.

"Heh, Ivan, you wouldn't hurt me, would you?"

The face on Ivan only promised pain.

"Meow."

Loki blinked and looked down to see a cat standing before him.

"I'm busy here."

He's busy sending fear to all these humans. Then he paused because he felt something behind him. Turning around he found himself looking at Iron man.

"Oh, the cat yours, isn't she?"

Thus, a God ended up behind glass walls inside of SHIELD.

Bruce didn't want to harm the cat and telling her to shoo was like telling Stark to shoo. Near impossible.

"Cat treats," Tony offered. "She would love you even more if you give her one."

Tony tossed Lion a treat who happily ate it.

Bruce frowned because neither Stark's we're understanding that he could harm them and they need to stay far away from him as possible.

No, Tony stop passing him cat treats.

Steve isn't too sure what he did wrong to upset the cat.

She wouldn't eat anything he gave him.

Hissed at him, nearly bit his finger of.

And, now he found himself alone with that said cat.

"Where's Stark?" he asked Natasha who walked into the room.

"With Banner. Why?"

He didn't want to be left alone with this cat.

Lion hissed at him.

"What did you do to set her of?" Natasha asked.

"I'm not too sure."

The next thing he knew he was being chased by Stark crazy cat and using his shield to block her from ripping out his eyes.

Stark wasn't too happy about his cat being stressed when he came back.

Lion stress?

Steve was the one that was stressed.

The damn thing almost killed him.

She hissed at him.

Steve will not denial or confirmed that he jumped when she did.

Thor decided he like Lion.

She was small, but brave, strong and graceful and cute.

Very, very cute.

He will admit he was shock to learn that Stark had her during his teenager's years and he will admit that sounded of since cat's don't live that long at least mortal cat's, don't.

"Meow."

She was cute though.

Thor wonders if he could give her a treat. His eyes light up when Stark passed him a bag of cat treats.

Phil saw Loki stepping forward ready to kill him and yeah, he knows he had to fake his death so the team can work together, but really Lion stood right behind Loki and all he needed to do was push the God with his hand.

That said Gold fell backwards tripping over Lion and went out the window.

"Meow."

"We make a pretty good team."

She purred.

The only time Captain America ever worked with Lion was during the battle of New York.

Captain America almost got surrounded by the aliens until Lion was heard letting out a loud hissed tackling one down, then tackle the next and another. All while hissing, meowing loudly and holding her own.

"Stark, your cat a pretty good fighter," Captain America said.

"What? What do you mean she fighting? She not meant to be fighting."

In the background Steve was sure she was ripping out the alien eyes.

"You mean you didn't know she was out here?"

"No, she wasn't meant to be here."

"Meow."

Steve turned to see Lion looking like an angel with all the dead or knocked out aliens around her.

He was wrong about Stark then maybe the man did have a heart if he was still packing about his cat being on a battle field.

Now, if only Lion would stop staring at him like that.

When Tony fell, he fell, but Hulk caught him letting him land on the ground. Only problem he wasn't waking up and Lion looked terribly upset. Natasha had gotten to know the cat during her time working undercover.

Most of the time the animal never left Stark side and now she looked very old as she meowed and purred around the fallen Stark.

What plans did Stark have for the cat after his death?

Surely, it must've been something because the cat clearly couldn't be left alone after such a heartbreaking lost, but then the light on his chest started to flicker and Stark eyes opened.

"Please tell me nobody kissed me."

Lion brighten and purred.

"Hey, bud. Missed you too."

"Now, for my brother."

They arrived at Stark tower with Lion walking on Loki digging her claws into the God causing the God to winch every time.

"It feels like knives. I'll come peacefully if you stop this evil thing from attacking me."

Loki face winkled in pain as Lion dug all of her claws into his spine.

"Meow."

Ultron was a threat. That much was clear.

He was robot and in highlight not the best project Tony had ever worked on so with the team all ready and suit up to go with two new members added they we're ready to go into battle to face Ultron. Only problem.

The robot step on Lion tail.

Lion did not like this.

Her fur shot right up her teeth out she hissed and even the robot knew he had done something wrong before anyone could move the cat was suddenly in the robot face.

"Argh!"

It was almost sad to see a powerful robot-like Ultron being beaten up by a cat.

"Should we help him?" Quicksilver asked actually concerned.

Lion was not given up she used her tiny paws to bring powerful punches.

"He was trying to destroy everything," Steve said. Steve also winched when Ultron screamed for Steve understood that pain.

It turned out robots can indeed feel pain at least when a cat is attacking them.

"You know. I have never met anyone dumb enough to step on Lion tail," Tony said sounding most disappoint in his own creation.

Ultron was on the ground at this point slowly being torn apart.

Tony decided that the Hulk should not be seeing this. He covered the green creature eyes and by the end of the afternoon Ultron was nothing more than bits and bolts with Lion sitting on top of the mess, casually cleaning her paw.

"Meow."

Note to self don't step on her tail.

During the civil war where the teams are facing one another, glaring down ready to attack does the sound of a cat brought fear into Captain America heart.

"Rhodey, I thought she was in the tower."

"Tones, I swear she was."

"Lion must've followed you Mr. Stark," Spiderman noted.

Lion leaped over them and with a perfect landing she landed right on top of Captain America face, ripping out his hair.

"Argh."

The shield dropped to the ground and the great America hero running around trying his best to get the cat of his head. Even Bucky decided to stay back not wanting anything to do with this.

"Rogers, don't you dare hurt her," Iron man said.

"Seriously, that's what your worried about Stark she trying to send me blind. Argh!"

She hissed using her claws and her teeth. Iron man flew to Captain America trying to get his beloved cat of the man not wanting Lion to get hurt at all.

"You know. I expected this to be a bit more epic," Quicksilver said.

"Don't you dare hurt her," Iron man was heard again.

"Get the demon of me."

"She not a demon."

Lion let out another hissed.

"This is why you do not mess with cats," Black Panther said.

Captain America finally got the cat of his face only to find himself stepping on Lion tail.

Lion hissed and Iron man sent a blast of energy at the hero, freeing the cat.

"We can all agree that Cap deserved that one. Can't we?" Falcon asked.

The heroes nodded their head as Iron man picked up his cat.

"Oh, you poor thing. Did that mean all Roger harm you?"

"Meow," Lion said sadly showing of her ruined fur.

Bucky made sure his old friend was still breathing. Steve was just in pain. They should take him to the hospital for that.

"Does anyone want pizza?" Spiderman asked.

It was safe to say that all the heroes decided that food was a better idea then fighting one another. Steve was taken to the hospital while Lion was taken to the vet. It's actually a fairly normal sight for the vet to see a Tony Stark sitting in the waiting room, while wearing his iron suit with a cat on his lap.

Afterwards, Phil may or may not be the one who was behind sending Lion to the people behind the Sokovia Accords. The accords we're soon forgotten about after Lion torn them to shreds and yes Happy you can give Lion a few treats today. Just a few, no Happy not the whole bag.

"You are not from this world are you," Doctor Strange said.

The tabby in front of him held her chew toy in her mouth. She bit down onto it and it made a squeak.

"I could send you back."

The toy let out another yelp.

"I supposed you won't want to go back would you."

Lion saw a laser on the ground dropped the toy and went after it all while Spiderman was the cause of the cat sudden action.

Thanos was ready. He was finally ready. He was going to snap.

"Meow."

He paused.

He wondered how a cat got here.

"Meow."

Thanos frowned only for his eyes to widen in fear as the cat leaped up and attack him sending him blind as she leashed her claws into his eyes and somehow, he lost the in the battle only to lose. He was left on the ground in pain while the cat took the gauntlet into her mouth, returning home.

"Is that the gauntlet we had all been talking about?" Phil asked pointing to the gauntlet in the cat mouth.

She placed it right in front of Tony Stark. A normal cat would bring their owner a mouse or a sparrow, no not Tony's she had to bring one of the most powerful, weapon at his feet, looking up at him with big eyes begging for treats.

"So, what happened to Thanos?" Quill asked.

"Meow," Lion said sweetly.

"I have a good idea," Steve said with fear.

The cat didn't at all seem to care about the heroes around her more focus on the laser that Spiderman brought out, allowing her to try and catch the curse moving light.
