I'M BACK!
I'm so excited to start with the second story in my X-Strike Chronicles Series! If you haven't read the prequel, X-Strike Chronicles: United, go to my profile and you can start reading it there. If you haven't read it, this story won't make sense. If you have, then sit back and read! This story will be way different from the original movie, because the original was really bad. Along with insertin my OC into the story, I will be making major changes, like not killing Cyclops and Professor X and havin Rogue take the mutant cure and The Phoenix being part of Jean's X gene. (See what I did there? Jean's Gene. Say it out loud and you'll realize what I mean.
Summary: Takes place during Xmen the Last Stand. Recuperating from the events of Alkali Lake and trying to find out about his past, Kyle (OC) finds himself caught in a love triangle... or square. Meanwhile, A mutant cure has been developed, and Magneto and the Brotherhood are trying to stop the humans from releasing it to the public. On top of that, Jean is alive, Professor X is on the brink of death, and Kyle realizes that the X-Men will never be the same again. Why? Because the Phoenix Force has arrived.
Kyle: LETS START THE CHAPTER ALREADY!"
Me: Ok, ok, I'll start.
Chapter One: Mental Mutations
A mix of tears and sweat dotted Warren Worthington III's face. Wincing, he tried to cut something off of the center of his back. His father Warren Worthington II came down the hallway of his large building looking for his son.
"He's spent a long time in the private bathroom," Mr. Worthington II thought. He knocked on the door.
The shirtless Warren froze, nearly dropping the knife.
"Warren! Is everything alright?" Mr. Worthington asked. "What's going on in there?"
"Nothing! I'm coming out!" Warren cried, hissing in pain.
"You've been in there a long time. Open the door."
Warren panicked. He stopped cutting his back to turn around to face the mirror, where numerous tools Warren tried to use littered in and around the sink. Bloody napkins flanked the knives also.
"One." Mr. Worthington warned.
"ONE SECOND!" Warren shouted, frantically scooping up the scissors and knives into a small container. He panicked more, seeing feathers- his feathers, littering the floor.
"Open this door!" Worthington II said in a sterner voice. Warren continued to frantically put away the tools. "One." His father said again, stalling. He heard the clinking of metal on the other side of the door. The businessman tried to open the door, but the door was locked.
"OPEN THIS DOOR!" Warren Worthington the Second yelled. Warren was running out of time. He threw the container of blades into the trash just as his father broke open the door. Mr. Worthington gaped at his shirtless son, the feathers and blood on the floor and sink, and the knives in the trash.
Young Warren began to tear up, knowing that his father had finally found out.
"Not you too." Mr. Worthington gasped. He looked at the mirror to his son's back to see two bloody and feathered slits on his son's back, that jutted out slightly. His son was growing wings.
X-Men the Last Stand: Bathroom Titles play
BAM
BA-da-da-da da. DA DA DA DA DA
Just kidding I'm not going to sing it.
BOOM!
The city was up in flames, and various lasers zipped through the sky. Storm aka Ororo Munroe flew dodging the lasers and landed on the ground looking at the carnage around her. Nightcrawler aka Kurt Wagner teleported beside her.
"Where's Kyle?" He asked.
An explosion blew up beside Rogue. She and Peter Rasputin, aka Colossus, dove behind a car. Using her powers, she absorbed some of Peter's powers, and both of their bodies were coated with metal and a chunk of gravel ricocheted off them and into Logan's face. Logan, who was not wearing a uniform like his comrades, was wearing a jacket with jeans as his face healed from the gravel.
"The world's in flames and you're just gonna sit there?" Logan asked in a deep voice. "Let's go."
Peter and Rogue leapt up and followed Logan.
Bobby Drake aka Iceman and Kitty Pryde aka Shadowcat leaped over debris as they dodged the flames. A missile flew towards them, so Bobby shot a beam of ice, slowing down the torpedo as it bounced off the ground. Bobby smirked as he turned to face Kitty. Kitty saw another torpedo behind him.
"Bobby!" Kitty shouted. She grabbed him, and they phased through the missile as it went through them and exploded a few yards away. Kyle, aka X-Strike, slid off a destroyed car and landed on the ground to see Bobby and Kitty together. A pang of envy went through the mutant boy as he stared at Bobby and Kitty. Kyle was okay that Bobby and Kitty were friends, even when Rogue was Bobby's girlfriend, and Kyle and Kitty had a... complicated relationship. Kitty wasn't Kyle's girlfriend, so he had no right to be jealous of any boy she was-
BAM!
A car plummeted through the air, smashing into Kyle's head, knocking him into the gravel as the car rolled over him. If it wasn't for Kyle's adamantium-coated skeleton and his healing factor, Kyle would have been good as dead. Kurt teleported in front of him, helping his friend up.
"X-Strike is down," Peter said into his communication earbud.
"That's not fair!" Kyle said as his wounds healed. "I'm not dead." Rogue glanced at Kyle, then at Bobby and Kitty who were thanking each other. She had a pang of jealousy, seeing Kitty that close to Bobby. Another pang hit her. Because of Rogue's deadly powers, she couldn't make any physical contact with anyone-including Bobby. Sometimes she felt like Bobby would dump her for Kitty since Kitty could make physical contact without draining the life out of anyone. Glaring at the two, she ran after Peter. Logan laid against the car that hit Kyle, trying to light his cigar in the flames. Storm dove for cover behind the same car.
"They're gonna get killed out there." Storm said. "Kyle's down."
"Yeah, I know." Logan sighed. "They're not ready."
"Logan," Storm said as two beams of light shone near them.
"Don't get your panties in a bunch-" Logan ranted. Storm grabbed him and flew behind a wall as the car blew up. Logan groaned.
"That was my last cigar," Logan mumbled.
"Logan!" Storm cried again. Logan nonchalantly walked past a camper that flew through the air, exploding beside him.
"It's getting closer!" Rogue cried as Logan turned to see two beams of light, close together like eyes, shine towards him. Nightcrawler teleported behind him.
"C'mon, let's keep moving!" Storm shouted.
"Hey Tin Man, Come here," Logan said, ignoring Storm. "How's your throwing arm?" He asked, unsheathing his claws.
"Logan, we work together as a team." Storm explained.
"Yeah, good luck with that," Logan retorted. "Throw me NOW!" Logan told Peter.
"Damn it, Logan we work together as a-" Storm started to say. A slash was heard, and the bright lights disappeared as the giant head of a robot crashed into the ground. Kyle walked from behind it, with his claws unsheathed and a smirk on his face.
"Damn it, Kyle, we work together as a-" Storm started to say, but stopped.
"I wanted to do that," Logan grumbled. "Class dismissed." Storm scowled at him and then nodded to Kyle before leading the team away from the robot head. Slowly, the wreckage around them and the robot head turned light blue before faded away, revealing the blue dome-shaped room they were in.
"Nice save." Someone complimented Kyle, but he zoned out to look at Kitty, before following his team.
"Simulation complete." An artificial voice said from a speaker.
The doors with an X logo on them opened and Storm walked out, with the X-men and their new recruits.
"What the hell was that?" Storm blurted out, removing her combat gloves.
"Danger room session," Logan answered sarcastically.
"You know what I mean," Storm retorted. "Look, you can't just change the rules when you feel like it. I'm trying to teach them something,"
"I taught them something," Logan argued,
"It was a defensive exercise," Storm pointed out.
"Yeah, the best defense is a good offense. Or is it another way around?" Logan questioned. Ororo stopped Logan, and the other X-men walked past them.
"This isn't a game, Logan," Storm said.
"Well, you sure fooled me," Logan retorted. "I'm just a sub. If you have a problem, talk to Scott." Cyclops, aka Scott Summers, was still mourning the death of his beloved, Jean Grey, who had sacrificed herself to save them. He wasn't able to teach any classes, and Logan had to fill in for him for the day's Danger Room session. Storm frowned at him, before following after the others.
"Nice save back there," Kurt told Kyle as the younger X-Men walked down the halls to the training rooms.
"Thanks, but I messed up. I got hit by a car." Kyle answered.
"Hah. Yeah, that was funny." Bobby joked.
"Yeah, Very funny." Kyle retorted. "I guess I was just distracted."
"By what?" Kitty asked. "By who?"
"You."
"Am I distracting?" Kitty asked, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
"Did you just flirt with me?" Kyle asked after a few seconds.
"No." She quickly answered.
Kyle noticed that Rogue was unusually quiet. She had been more quiet than usual, ever since Alkali. She wasn't the only one. Cyclops was still traumatized from being mind-controlled, and mostly from the death of his girlfriend, Jean who had sacrificed herself to save them all from dying.
"Why wasn't Cyclops here today?" Kitty asked, changing the subject.
"Scott!"
Cyclops winced. He was lying on his bed, fully dressed, but felt like he didn't have enough energy to do anything, which is why he couldn't make it to teach the day's Danger Room session. He kept having dreams and visions of Jean calling out his name.
"Jean." Scott whispered.
"Scott."
Cyclops glanced around the room.
"Scott...Scott...Scott…"
Was he going crazy?
"Are you okay?" Bobby asked Rogue as they had already changed out of their X-uniforms into normal clothes.
"I'm fine."
"Well, you don't seem fine. You seem like you're avoiding me. I mean, something's wrong."
"What's wrong is that I can't touch my boyfriend without killin' him." Rogue retorted. "Other than that, I'm wonderful."
"Hey," Bobby stopped her as she walked down the hall. "I don't think that's fair. Have I ever put any pressure on you?"
"You're a guy, Bobby, Your minds only on one thing," Rogue argued.
Kyle was a couple of feet behind them, but with his super-hearing, he could hear every word they said. Something was wrong with Rogue. Suddenly the door to Scott's room opened, and Cyclops stormed out.
"Hey Scott, they were looking for you downstairs," Logan told Cyclops. "You didn't show."
"Why do you care?" Scott retorted.
"Well for starters, I had to cover your butt," Logan answered back.
"I didn't ask you too."
"No, you didn't. The professor did. I was just passing through."
"So pass through, Logan."
"Hey look," Logan said, blocking Scott who had a backpack over his shoulder. "I know how you feel."
"Don't."
"When Jean died-"
"I said don't." Scott retorted.
"Maybe it's time for us to move on," Logan suggested.
"Not everyone heals as fast as you do, Logan." Scott retorted coldly before turning around to leave the X-Mansion. Kyle ran up to him.
" Mr. Scott where are you going?" Kyle asked.
Scott sighed to face him. "I have to go."
"Where?"
"Alkali. I'm going to look for Jean."
Kyle looked at him questioningly. "Um, are you ok?"
"I'm not crazy, I just don't have to explain to you," Scott answered coldly before marching away onto his motorbike and then drove away. Kyle watched him until he could no longer see him anymore.
"Everybody's changing," Kyle murmured. Bobby and Kitty suddenly were attracted to each other. Rogue was jealous of them. Scott was mean and confused. It was like everyone's personalities were mutating. And Kyle himself was always distracted. Kyle cringed, but silently named these changes in personalities "Mental Mutations." Saddened Scott. Keen Kitty. Roguely Rogue. Rule-Bending Logan. Mind-boggling Bobby. He could probably make a career in this.
Ok. That chapter was bad. But at least I included Nightcrawler in it. The chapters will get even better, trust me. It looks like Kyle and Kitty's relationship was getting better until Bobby interfered. Updates will be every saturday.
ALMOST FORGOT! Here's your teasers:
"You wouldn't want to miss another joke, especially if it's about you."
"What is distracting you, Kyle?"
"Scott's a changed man, He took Jean's death so hard. Yes things are better out there, But you-"
"I AM THE PHOENIX!"
