Wind whipped past Izuku Midoriya's freckled face, the expression upon him set in pure determination. His eyes sparked with the light of a saviour as his curly green hair ruffled in the wind, as he watched the gigantic zero pointer robot he had just attacked sail into the distance from his first ever super strength punch.

That… was One For All? He finally had a quirk come in?! That was amazing-

Then came the pain. The screaming, agonizing pain rushing through his legs and left arm, causing him to let out a pained roar of shock, looking down to see he'd broken all but one of his limbs.

Then he started to plummet, rapidly approaching the ground.

Shoot shoot shoot! What did he do, what did he do?! He couldn't just suspend himself in the air-

With a sudden jolt, it felt as though his body was grabbed from the waist as he began to bob up and down, his stomach twisting as he looked down and saw he was still high up in the air, near the top of the buildings.

…Was this another part of One For All? Since when could All Might float?!

He tried to turn, only to flip and get disoriented as he blinked, looking around. 'What the… Focus, Izuku! You can ask All Might later! I need to grab onto something before whatever this is stops and I die!'

He looked around and noticed a pole sticking out one of the buildings. Maybe he could grab it and shimmy into the building?! He just needed to reach out and grab it!

Another surprise waited for him however, as he raised his arm there was a sudden explosion of black from his arms and his confusion grew even more as several odd whips of sorts suddenly grabbed the wall.

Then the floating ended and Izuku went wide eyed as he was suddenly yanked right forward, smacking face first off the concrete and falling backwards to his death once more, now semi-unconscious too boot.

The only thing he was aware of, other the pain in his limbs, was the stabbing pains in his head, that felt like they were screaming at him to do something.

Well that and the weird smells... So many odd scents in the air, he'd never smelt before. Was he hallucinating? Was that what was happening-

His thoughts were interrupted by a sudden pain to the side of his head as a loud slapping sound resounded throughout the area. His eyes snapped open as he felt the hand connecting with him before his momentum stopped once more as he floated slowly, as if gravity had left him.

Then it came back just as suddenly, causing him to land harshly on the ground and let out a groan of pain. At least he wasn't dead. What was that?

He looked up to see the brown haired girl he had been trying to save from the gigantic robot sighing in relief. Had she saved him with her zero gravity quirk? He should thank her later… once his head stopped spinning and she didn't look as ill.

And when she wasn't throwing up onto the sidewalk. They'd both prefer talking when that wasn't happening. He didn't want to smell the Mochi and Tango she had on the way here.

Wait… How did he know that's what that was? Mm… he could figure out later, after a nap. A nap sounded good… Maybe the pain would be gone when he woke up…

"Young Midoriya?" Izuku looked over to see his mentor All Might walking into the U.A. Infirmary making him blink in surprise.

"All Might? What are you doing here?" He questioned confused, tilting his head curiously. A part of his heart sank knowing this likely meant his mentor saw him completely fail the practical exam he had come to take part in, that All Might had been training him for.

Yet he got not a single point.

"I called in a favour with Nezu to view the exam, I wanted to keep an eye on you." The skinny blond pro hero waved his question off, pulling up a chair and sitting down, keeping an eye on the nurse and making sure she was out of hearing distance before he turned to Izuku. "I suppose it was for the best considering the confusing events that transpired at the end."

"Oh, r-right. Do you know what that was about?" He frowns. "I can't work out what that was. I've never seen you use anything like those powers in all your fights and I know for a fact neither floating nor tendrils are part of my family's quirk tree." He frowned and inspected his hand, confused. All Might sighed.

"You are certain that the first power felt like floating?"

"Definitely." He looked up surprised. "Do you know what it was?"

"…My own mentor, her name was Nana Shimura. She taught me many things I so proudly now stand for these days, but I can tell you more about that later, for the moment what's important… Young Midoriya, her quirk was Float. It allowed her to take to the skies and suspend herself in the sky, and with One For All she was capable of what was more or less flight." He explained, sighing and clasping his hands together. "I do not know what those before her were capable of, but if I were to take a guess? One of them quite likely had some form of tendril quirk."

"…Are you saying that I'm using the old users quirks as well as One For All?" Izuku's jaw dropped as All Might sighed and nodded.

"I cannot confirm it yet, but I think it is a distinct possibility. Don't ask me how, I'm just as lost as you are, my boy." The blond scratched the back of his head, frowning. "I don't even know what advice to give you beyond the power aspects that I am familiar with."

"Oh yeah! My bones… they…" Izuku winced as he looked down at the appendages in question. "Did that happen to you the first time you used One For All?"

"My bones breaking? No, I've never had such an issue, however I also recall my old teacher mentioning that I was something of a natural with the power. I also had more ah… surface area to work with then you and less power to contain." He rambled on, rubbing his chin. "My point is, there was more for you to deal with and while this is a setback we can work from here. What was it like using One For All?"

"Like a bunch of broken bones, rushing wind and fear of a messy splatty death on the pavement." The curly haired teenager deadpanned, making All Might laugh slightly.

"I mean the actual feeling of calling upon it, the rush inside. You're a glass of water right now, except you have more water in you then you can physically contain. It's overflowing, and the glass is cracking whenever you try to actually do anything with One For All. Over time, you'll mould your body though, you'll mould it into something more suited to containing that overflow, and soon you'll be operating like me." All Might gave him a kind smile and a thumbs up. "Likely even better than me, if we can manage to find a way to handle these other powers you have on hand. We can spend some time working on that later."

"We… We can? You don't want it back?" Izuku looked up shocked and All Might frowned in confusion. "I m-messed up the exam! I didn't get a single point, I failed you c-completely and-"

"Hang on young man." The pro held up a hand. "U.A. is your dream. That is why I agreed to help you train for it. Never did I state however that you would only retain your quirk if you got in. If you had chosen to go anywhere else, I still would support you. I choose you as my successor for the person you are, flaws and all, and U.A. has no need to be part of that."

"It…. I…" Izuku looked down.

"U.A. was for you, my boy, not for One For All. Remember that." He informed his successor, standing and ruffling his hair slightly. "Now, if anyone asks I was never here and never told you this… don't count yourself out before the letter comes out. You never know what secrets U.A. might be hiding."

With that, the man turned and left a confused but hopeful and excited successor behind, his smile turning to a frown as he headed for the principal's office, the mystery of these events far beyond him.

Sometime earlier

"P-Please, it's all I have left to give my daughter!" A brown haired man cowered, mouth dry as he was forcibly held against a wall by a more muscular and meaner looking bald man. "It's h-her birthday in a few weeks and-"

"Tough shit." The bald man spat, holding up a hand as it began to spark with electricity, making him grin. "Give me my money. Now. Or do you want the venue for her birthday to be the crematorium?"

The man went pale as two others, a large and rotund man with a comb over and a lankier man with long dark purple hair cackled at the sight, taking the change handed to them.

"Don't hold out now." The bald man grinned, making his hand spark again. "You don't want to risk angering me, do you? After a-UGH!"

The bald villain's entire body was thrown to the ground, making him grunt and shake his head as he looked up to see a girl with pinkish-red eyes and long orange hair in a ponytail, in a massive pink bow, helping set the victim he had been terrorizing down. She wore a white shirt with a golden heart on the chest, with sleeves that were striped alternating between a dark wine red and a lighter fruity pink. On her lower half she wore a blue skirt with a slight triangle cut at the hem in the centre. She had white socks and red sneakers that instead of using ties used mini bows, being slips-ons.

Looking to either side, the villain growled as he saw the two other men also standing up and clutching their heads in confusion, before he noticed something. "My money!"

"You mean his money." The girl spoke, making them look up and see she wore a determined expression as she took on a fighting stance. "Just because you tried to steal it doesn't make it yours, you know. Besides, I'm pretty sure you have to succeed at stealing it before you can even pretend that it is."

"You have no idea what kinda mistake you just made, you little brat." He growled as he rose up, electricity sparking off him on all sides as his two lackeys groaned before also taking on rough fighting stances, the lankier man throwing both his arms down as they turned into blades. "Some no name isn't gonna be the one to take down ME!"

"The name's Hyper Blossom!" She clenched a fist, before grinning. "And we'll just see about that one, Sparky! I got this mister, you just get out of here."

"And leave a child to fight?!" He sputtered and she deadpanned before turning and appearing behind the electric villain in an instant, grabbing his collar and throwing him backwards before effortlessly blocking a blade strike from the lanky lackey, casually holding the blade down with her bare arm.

"Trust me, I'm more capable than you think." She assured him, before throwing her arm down forcing the villain to stumble back, creating an open she took full advantage of by delivering one easy knockout blow that knocked the lackey out. She grinned to herself before hearing an unsettling slapping of flesh that made her look up to see the rotund lackey bouncing off the walls like a pinball, before coming right at her. Without a thought she jumped up into the air and suddenly started flying, easily dodging the villain and floating back down to see him come back for a rebound, letting her giggle as she lined up an easy shout and drove him into the ground with a single solid kick. "I'd say piece of cake but I've eaten cakes tougher than this."

"You bitch!" The electric villain snarled as he came back in, throwing punch after punch which she easily dodged, avoiding the sparks in the process.

"Now now! That language is just unnecessary!" She scolded, before yelping and ducking under a haymaker, making her grumble before noticing how the sparks followed his hand.

"Fuck you!" He tried to come in for a roundhouse kick only for her to grab the leg, spinning him around while using only one hand, and throw him into a nearby dumpster. "Ugh… Gonna… Get you a spot in the crematorium…"

"One, you need to get more material. Two, fitting place to land. Three…" She grinned, rushing in so fast she was naught more than a pink blur of energy, before she barrelled into him hard enough to knock him over, where upon she grabbed sheets from the garbage sticking out she had noticed earlier and used her speed to tie them around both his hands before he could fight back. "The sparks keep following your hands, and you aren't throwing any ranged attacks."

He roared and tried to sweep her legs but she planted herself firmly into the ground, making him howl with pain instead when he felt as though he had kicked steel. "So if I had to guess, I'd say you can only create sparks that stick to your body, nothing else. Good for intimidation and maybe a little extra oomph to your punches, but not much else. Oh, and for the record? This is a leg sweep."

She dropped to the ground, taking his legs out from under him with ease and knocking him out when his head hit the concrete. She clapped her hands together twice as she became a pink energy trail for another moment, quickly tying all three villains together and walking out the alley just in time to avoid the sirens, hurrying away from the scene.

"And I didn't even get his name." The ginger chuckled to herself, rolling her eyes at the classic villain antics before feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket. "Huh?"

Confused, she took it out and slowed down, seeing it was a text, one of many she had apparently missed from the same person.

"Karou? What's got her so worried-"

Karou Mastubara: MOMOKO WHERE TF ARE YOU!? THE EXAM IS ON IN LIKE, THREE MINUTES! YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE! – Now

'Momoko' paled as her arm shook before she quickly stuffed her phone into her pocket in a panic and began running much faster, jumping into the sky once out of sight and blasting off as fast she could towards the massive hill outside the city that had the most prestigious school in all of Japan sat atop it. U.A. High, the school of her dreams, the place she wanted to attend with her best friends to help others and make up for their past.

The place where she could not believe she had entirely forgotten about until just now with her patrols! Oh god Karou was going to kill her! If she didn't kill herself beating herself up first, that was! How could she be so stupid to forget one of the most important exams of her life?!

"Where is she?!" Karou Mastubara stomped around angrily, wearing a yellow t-shirt with a small zip on the collar that went down to the top of her chest, dark green shorts and forest green sneakers that zipped up in the middle and had white soles and toe-endings. On her wrists she wore orange armbands and had a half-white, half-green baseball cap resting on her head. She had spiky navy hair and green eyes.

"I'm sure she'll make it… at the last second. I mean it's an even bigger dream for her then for us." Miyako Gotokuji, a blue-eyed blonde girl with small twin drills as her hairstyle frowned, however her nervous expression gave away she was just as worried as Karou. She wore a white button-up dress shirt with a navy tie, a blue plaid skirt with white frills and white socks with black dress shoes. She was clutching an octopus plushie to her chest and nervously stroking its head.

"HERE! I'M HERE!" They both jumped and turned to see Momoko Akatsutsumi rushing towards them, waving her arms frantically until she reached them, clutching her legs and panting as she groaned. "I'm here…. Sorry…"

"Sorry?! Where the hell were you?!" Karou hissed as she hurried up to her, instinctively reaching out and fixing her bow before grabbing her arm and dragging her alone. Miyako yelped and quickly hurried out her seat, putting her plushie into her bag before rushing to be just behind the other two girls. "We've got like a minute left to get in there!"

"I got sidetracked with something important!" Momoko said snippily, standing up straight and patting herself down more thoroughly, pouting as she readjusted the bow again. "And I've told you not to touch my bow!"

"This is the thing we've been training for all year! What's more important-" Karou froze, before gritting her teeth and glaring at the redhead, hissing quietly. "You went out doing vigilante stuff again didn't you!?"

"Shh! Don't mention that! Not in here of all places!" Momoko panicked, covering her mouth and looking around and sighing in relief when she saw no one. "And… Okay yeah I was patrolling."

"Seriously?!" Karou took the hand down with an eye twitching. "How many times have I told you-"

"You're not the boss of me, Karou!" Momoko bit back before Karou could say anything, before stopping and sighing. "What was I supposed to do, let an innocent man get robbed?"

"No, but you shouldn't go looking for trouble for no good reason! And I'm the one saying it!" Karou sighed before putting an arm around Momoko's neck, turning her around out of sight. "Look, I get it, you like heroes, but Miyako needs us and you putting yourself in danger willingly every five seconds doesn't really help us be there for her or her feel any better."

"…You know it's usually me who has to remind you to be careful around Miyako." Momoko giggled, making the navy-haired girl roll her eyes and grin light-heartedly.

"Yeah well, only when you don't turn that stupid smart brain into yours into just a stupid brain." She noogied her lightly, making her yelp before breaking her grip and making Karou laugh.

"Jerk."

"Girls!" Miyako whined and the both turned before sighing, pulling the blonde girl into a three-way hug and grinning. "You know I don't like fighting…"

"We're sorry, Miyako." Momoko apologized, Karou nodding in agreement before sighing.

"And yeah, we know. You know you're gonna have to fight in the practical exam though, right?" She asked and Miyako whined, hugging her stomach. Both other girls sighed, Karou putting a hand on her head. "You can't wimp out of it, Mi."

"Matsubara!" Momoko scolded with her best mom voice only for the girl in the yellow shirt to shrug.

"What? She can't!" Karou said defensively, holding up her hands. "We gotta get in together and we don't know if we'll be placed together or not."

"...She could be more tactful but she's right, Miyako." Momoko sighed, before smiling at the girl. "But look on the bright side, it's just robots. Even before we… you know, we could have taken them with Powerpuff! Just get the switches and you're fine!"

"I guess, but I'm just a support girl… I'm not..." Miyako trailed off, making her older counterparts sigh before she blushed as Karou ruffled her hair and Momoko spoke up.

"Miyako, you're a powerpuff! You're Bubbles!" She said, waving her hands wildly, gesticulating as she said so. "You've got this for sure! Me and Karou know you do! Right?"

"Yeah! So kick some tin can butt for us, alright?" Karou said with a smirk as she pulled her hand away. Miyako paused, before her face became determined and she nodded.

"A-Alright! I can do that! One question though, when did we go from fighting robots to tin cans?" She asked innocently, making the other two pause before facepalming and chuckling.

"Never change, Mi." Momoko said, before yelping as she saw the clock. "But hurry up! We gotta get in now!"

"Oh crap! Right, let's go! Time for you to show us up on another test, Momoko!" Karou teased, making said girl roll her eyes good naturedly as they all headed into the room and hurried to their seats at the back.

They thought they'd gotten in completely without incident at first, as one tall blue haired teen chewed out another green haired one for muttering, one who Momoko immediately quietly cooed about being super cute, making Miyako giggle quietly and Karou roll her eyes. "Every time you see a guy…"

"And you three in the back!" The blue haired one snapped up towards them, making them all jump and straighten up. "Are you taking this even less seriously then him?! You were completely late and you are talking as well instead of paying attention! Shameful behaviour for anyone who wants to be a student of such an exemplary school!"

"Hey!" Momoko whined and frowned as Miyako flinched, but Karou was the one with the most adverse reaction, putting her hand on the desk and standing up.

"Who asked you, blue!?" She growled. Momoko hissed at her.

"Karou!"

"I am merely-"

"Okay that's enough little listeners! I'm totally not digging this track, ya feel me?" Present Mic, a blond pro hero with large spiky hair and a leather outfit in stylized orange shades peered over them with just enough of a stern look to get them to settle down, Iida sitting down with a frown while Karou huffed and crossed her arms. "Now I get what you're putting down listener, but I was just getting to that one. The fourth robot, the zero-pointer, is exactly that, ya dig? Zero points, zero point to fighting! I'd recommend trying to avoid it and aiming for the top of the charts! Now, how about a chant for good luck?! Say it with me! PLUS ULTRA!"

"Plus Ultra!" a single feminine voice spoke with him, all eyes turning to see Miyako holding her hand in the air, before noticing only she had done it making her let out a small eep as her face turned bright red and she hid it with her hands, almost toppling backwards in her seat.

"That little listener gets it! Thank you! Now, your battle centres are on your cards like I said. Just go to them and get as many points as you can!" Present Mic cheered, the students all rising to go to the centres, Momoko helping Miyako up on the way.

"Ready powerpuffs?" Momoko asked quietly with a grin.

"Born ready!" Karou grinned back.

"As I'll ever be, I guess." Miyako sighed nervously, with a small smile.

"Remember Karou, you gotta take them down fast and then move on. You're there for points, not for fighting. No fighting the other examinee's either."

"I know!" She rolled her eyes with a groan. "I know!"

Karou cracked her neck as she stared at the gate ahead of her, the battle centre she had been assigned to being some suburb area that went up a hill, having about five levels to it with many quaint looking homes. She chuckled quietly to herself. 'Wonder if the professor would ever move into a house like these? Probably not…'

The gates swung open suddenly and most of the participants froze as Present Mic started shouting go. Karou didn't however, blasting off in a trail of green in an instant, quickly weaving corner after corner until she paused in the air, floating off the ground and grinning as she found a cluster. "Alright!"

She rushed them, ducking under an attempted slow punch from one and grabbing it, twirling it around rapidly and beating the rest of its robotic friends into pieces with the body before throwing it up and flying right through one side and out the other causing it to explode violently as she got the high ground being able to see another chunk down below.

With a grin she took a deep breath before aiming as her eyes turned pure red and fired off lasers from either one that, with a simple turn of her head, she managed to make them slice in half two different clusters of six robots across two different streets.

She came flying down to the ground and zipped past street after street, continuing this process for the most part of flying through or using lasers on robot clusters she found while flying around, although when she paused at one point to decide on her next direction a three pointer whipped her with its tail while she was distracted, smashing her into a wall and making her shake her head before she punched the tail away with a bare hand causing the tail to explode into pieces.

Karou used the opportunity to her advantage flying forward and turning away from the robot to one of the panels, firing a laser at the metal inside and making it rebound back into the robot before flying ahead while ignoring the explosion, a massive grin on her face. 'Whoo! Don't get to cut loose like this often!'

Her good mood didn't drop either as she continued her rapid robotic rampage, turning metal to scrap with ease until eventually, she heard shouting and panicking making her pause in confusion and set back on the ground. "Huh? Whats going-"

She felt the ground beneath her feet rumbling and whipped around in an instant, going wide eyed as she saw the towering behemoth that was apparently a zero pointer. "That… That's gotta be like…. Thirty feet…. THAT'S SO COOL!"

She grinned manically as she blasted forward and rose into the sky to eye level with the robot, clenching her fists in excitement. "Oh man! You may not be worth any points to my exam score but for my pride, I can't wait to-"

BOOM!

She yelled as a second destroyed zero pointer came hurtling in at speed, crashing right into the one she had been about to take on and destroying it in an instant, making her eye twitch.

"…What… The frick?! Oh come on!" She let out an annoyed yell as she used her laser eyes on a random cluster she spotted below, making it explode into pieces before the exam was declared over, making her groan and float back down to the entrance with a twitching eye. 'If I find out who did that I'm gonna get some revenge… somehow….'

With that thought she stuffed her hands in her pocket and stalked out of the exam, not cheering up until she found her other friends and they managed to compare scores.

Suffice to say, when a week had passed and they saw the three letters from U.A. come in addressed to them, they weren't that surprised by the message within.

"You have been accepted into U.A. High! Well done, my girl!" All Might's pre-recorded hologram informed them as they all looked in with massive grins at the last of their three holograms, letting him finish up his message. "You, as well as your sisters, will be in class 1-A! I cannot wait to see you all in class!"

"God this feels great." Momoko sighed as she sat back, Karou nodding and Miyako beaming as they expected the hologram to end, however they were instead in for a surprise.

"Oh! One more matter I must tell you about!" The recording continued, making them look back in surprise. "We noticed during the footage the three of you have displayed some varied powers, yet we also saw your quirk registers being listed as the same power! The principal naturally did some research and discovered that you do indeed possess the ability to manifest your quirks as separate powers, something very impressive! We would ask that you come see him first before class however, as he has an important proposition based on this for you three. I can't say much now but I can tell you it would be for both your own benefit and the benefit of another student in class who has had an… interesting if unfortunate quirk awakening during the exam. Well, I have to go deal with the next… oh god, thirty…. Of these. Toodles!"

The hologram ended the three girls stared at each other in surprise with slightly agape mouths, none knowing what to say. Until eventually, Momoko managed a nervous laugh.

"Well, uh… We're in?"
