A/N…. I need to get out of the habit of starting stories and not finishing them…hehe.. But I couldn't get this out of my mind after I had a Bensaro related dream… I can't be the only one who has had SVU related dreams, right?
Enjoy!
Up until this very moment, and seeing him face to face after years of loose contact, she had dreamed of it.
Literally, waking up drenched in sweat, dreams.
And there he was, his eyes intently locked on hers with a small smirk growing.
They both had suspicions that they would run into each other at the Police conference, and they had talked a few times prior to her flying out to San Diego, but she couldn't wrap her mind around the sight of him. The black tie, and the perfectly fitted suit…. She wanted that tie elsewhere.
"Olivia." He breathed out her name and pulled her into his arms.
It was comforting, almost like coming home. She wrapped her arms around his torso and breathed in his cologne and felt like she could melt in that moment.
"Nicholas Amaro…" She said in a whisper that he could only hear and it sent chills down his spine.
He gently pulled away from the hug and held her at her hips and took the sight of her body in and twirled her, which earned a laugh from the brunette.
"How is it even 4 years later, you are the most beautiful woman in the world?" He grinned and pulled her into a hug again. "That dress…Wow." He laughed and twirled her around again and kissed her cheek.
It had been 4 years, and it had been 4 years too long. The day Nick told Olivia that he was leaving for California, she was devastated. And he knew it. There had always been unspoken feelings between the two, and both of them were too shy in the moment to admit it. And then he told her. The night before he was catching a flight, he had to tell her, and he was afraid of what she might say, but he couldn't leave without telling her how he felt.
"I'm crazy about you Olivia, and I always have been."
They were sitting in her living room, just staring at each other. It was silent for a moment, but it wasn't that weird type of "I'm in love with you and I don't think you love me that way", silence.
"Nick….I….we…" She stumbled over her words and tried to form a sentence. "You and I…. We work really well together…and I was too afraid to ever say anything… Because you're married and I respect Maria, and wouldn't want to be the other woman….Again" She laughed a little at the last sentence.
It was unspoken, between her and Elliot. God, she was stupid for being so in love with him, and she knew he had feelings. And it might have just happened, but then Kathy got pregnant again and she had to pull herself away from that.
Nick smiled a little and cupped her chin in his hand and she leaned into it. "You're not the other woman, Olivia. Maria and I…. We've been done for a long time now. It hasn't been working… No amount of counseling or talking will help us." He looked at her and before he knew it, her lips crashed into his.
"And how is it you're still the most sexiest man I've laid my eyes on?" She whispered into his ear again and he instantly felt his dick throbbed.
"A public function, and you still know how to get me going, huh?" Nick laughed and walked over to the bar with Olivia.
"Well, you weaseled your way into my bed and then left me 4 years ago, remember?" Olivia smirked and ordered two whiskeys.
"Ahh, if I remember, you kissed me and got me into your own bed." He laughed and put his hand on the small of her back and gently dug his nails into her, and a groan escaped her mouth quietly. "Is that why you got us whiskey, to hope it would happen again?" He smirked and took a sip.
Olivia smiled and rolled her eyes and looked at him and sighed. "I really missed you Nick." She spoke and leaned her head on his shoulder and looked around the crowd of people. "I don't think they would miss us, huh?" She whispered into his ear, then took a sip of her drink.
Nick smirked and bit his lower lip and glanced around and then back at the brunette. "I, uh, have to make a speech, and I really hope you stick around. I think I can make it worth your while."
Olivia smirked and walked back to her table and glanced back at him, hunger in her eyes.
As promised, he made it worth her while, over and over.
"I love you, Nick." Olivia laid her head against his bare chest and closed her eyes.
"I love you too, Olivia Benson." He smiled and nuzzled his face into her hair and kissed her head.
End.
