Author guy "Yo! What's up! Bringing you guys something new this time around. Just a little idea I had for a one shot. Let me know if you guys like it and if I should make more. Hope you guys enjoy!"
A single green jacket covered the shoulders of Izuku Midoriya as he prepared for a day out at the mall. Clouds had began to roll in and there wasn't a very high chance of a storms but it was always better to be prepared than soaked.
Izuku checked his pockets "Wallet, keys and phone. Yup, looks like I'm good"
Izuku exited his room and waved hi to some of his classmates as he made his way out the building.
Izuku was more or less going to the mall as an excuse, he didn't really need anything but he needed a bit of change from all the drama of school and figured going to the mall and whatever places he found along the way might help.
Sadly, he blazed through all the places he wanted to see pretty fast. He was surprised at the lack of All Might merchandise at first but... It made sense. Since the former number one hero retired, fans have been purchasing all her merch with the idea it will gain monetary value very quick.
Sadly though, this just meant Izuku lost interest in most of the stores he liked. With a dejected look and a sigh he began to walk to the food court. On his way however, he noticed an arcade that had quite a few All Might games, well... If this was the only thing to cure the future hero's fanboy itch. So be it.
Izuku practically marched into the arcade looking for anything All Might that wasn't being used. After nearly three minutes if pacing around the place he found an All Might Pinball game! Izuku was finally smiling a bit and put in a quarter to start the game.
Izuku enjoyed getting another ball as the machine would occasionally yell out one of the hero's catchphrases. Izuku was playing for a solid ten minutes and was close to breaking the high score! He hadn't realized it yet but a crowd was forming around him , watching with baited breath to see if the record would be broken.
Murmers were being made if he could really do it! He was down to one pinball and was slowly getting stressed out from all the attention. However during his stress I hadn't realized it but "WOOOOOO" The croud behind him went into a frenzy as he only then realized he surpassed the high score! He only made it a little further before he lost his last ball but it still felt really good.
The crowd slowly disapated but the still congratulated him on his skills before they left. A tap was then felt in his shoulder "So! You're the new chp huh?" He knew that voice, but could it really be them?
Izuku turned around in a frightened state to see the one and only Mina Ashido was behind him. Izuku was nearly sent into a panic attack
"A-Ashido! What are y-you doing here?" Izuku managed to stutter out
Mina had a big smile on her face "Having fun and playing games! I see you just best my high score, by the way~"
Izuku was a bit surprised "Y-You were the high score before me?"
Mina giggled and made a cute "Mhm!" sound "Pretty cool right! I used to play that one a lot, but now I play games like mario kart, DDR, c'mon lemme show you!" She extended a light pink hand out to him but he was immediately red faced
"A-Are you sure you w-want to be seen with me?" Izuku said embarrassingly
Mina chuckled "What, just because your a champ now you think your something big? Hehehe"
"N-No, not like that! I just... Don't want to embarrass you..." Izuku said while looking at his shoes in shame.
Mina light karate chopped him on the head "Now why would I be embarrassed to hang out with you? I think we don't hang out enough!"
"O-Or at all" Izuku added
"So let's fix that! You and me hangin out today at the arcade, c'mon Midori!" Mina cheered as she punched her fist in the air to punctuate her last sentence.
Izuku blushed a little at being called Midori, but decided why not. He was here anyways and who knows? Maybe this was the distraction he needed.
"I-If it's okay with you, Ashido" he said with confidence dropping by the second
"Yaaaay!" Mina grabbed his wrist and made sure to take him to every single game she enjoyed. Mario Kart, Air hockey, ski ball, and shooting games. She took him all over the arcade and was happily to notice he was becoming visibly happier each game.
"Phew! That took a while huh?" Mina stretched her limbs clearly preparing for something
Izuku smiled and looked at her curiously "Yeah it did but uhhh what are you stretching for Ashido?"
Mina smirked "Because we have one final game to play. Dance Dance Revolution~!" She pointed to the game in an overenthusiastic manner
Once she stepped into one of the danceplates she noticed Izuku stayed still. "What's wrong, Midori?"
Izuku snapped to attention "Oh! Uhh you can play this one, I'm no good at dancing" he waved off his embrassment
Mina however was having none of it and grabbed his arm "C'mon! We played every other game together, let's do this one too!" She was tugging on him slightly
Izuku had to do his best to resist her, it's not that he wasn't a good dancer, it's that he couldn't dance to save his life! He especially didn't want to embarrass himself after he his unexpected high score moment earlier! ... But those eyes. The black sclera drawing him in like a vacuum into the void when he was then smacked with a golden pupil like the sun coming into view. A slow blush creeped onto his face, unlike his other blushes, this one was of realization. Realization that Mina had the best eyes he'd seen.
Little did he know that he had been nodding off as Mina smiled in glee, taking his nods as a yes. "Sweet! Come here!"
Once she started dragging him, he snapped back to reality and was freaking out as he realized what just happened.
Both teens stood ready as Mina picked an easier song for him to start on. As Mina hit the start button and took off into a dimensional groove the likes of which no one had ever seen!
Midoriya was trying to simply step on the pads in the right order. He did fine at first but once he messed up once it was over, he looked like a cross between Mr Roboto and a flailing fish.
As they both finished Mina's screen showed the word "PERFECT" while Izuku's showed a ratio of misses to hits. It didn't help that the misses were 3 times more than the hits.
"Awww don't worry Midori! You just gotta loosen up, think of it like a fight. Someone's shooting at your feet and you gotta dodge!" Mina brought her fists to get chest in inspiration
Izuku tried to connect the dots she showed him and nodded "Okay Ashido... One more try"
"WOOOO!" Both teens looked behind them to see a crowd had gathered to watch Mina's performance and now they were cheering over the rematch. Mostly to see Ashido dance again.
Mina looked to Izuku "I know you can do it. Just focus, Midori~"
Izuku blushed but they turned to the screen as Mina turned the next song on. As soon as it began to play, Mina once again was off to the races on a breakdance spree.
Izuku struggled at first but once he incorporated battle tactics and dodging manuvers to his style, he did MUCH better.
As the game finished he saw another "PERFECT" on Mina's screen and a "GREAT" on his. The crowd burst with cheers as Izuku and Mina shared a laugh together in joy of Izuku's progress.
Later, just outside the mall, both teens walked under the cloudy night sky back to the dorms.
Mina yawned as she stretched "What a day! Been a long time since I had that much fun!"
Izuku smiled at her "Same. Thank you so much, Ashido!" He bowed to her
Mina raised an eyebrow "Why are you thanking me? Your the one who did all the cool stuff. I'm just happy I made a new friend"
Izuku nearly tripped "N-New... Friend? Ashido, we're... friends now?"
Mina smiled warmly "Yup! So no more Ashido! My friends call me Mina!"
Izuku was trying not to blush and failing miserably "M-M-Mina? I'll ... I'll try... M-Mina"
She merely chuckled and put a hand on his shoulder. "You'll get used to it Midori"
Izuku was about to freak out at her nickname for him until he felt a raindrop through his shirt. He decided to look up and noticed what looked like rain clouds coming in. They didn't look too bad but it certainly wasn't fun to get sick from being out in the rain.
"Hey, Come on Led foot!" Mina yelled at Izuku about 12 ft in front of him. "It's gonna be a while until we get back to the dorms so let's get a move on before I get soaked!" She continued to walk with a smile as the rain started to come in more.
Izuku was a bit worried "Wait! Ashi- I mean Mina! You didn't bring a jacket with you?" He says catching up to her.
Mina rubbed the back of her head "Nah... I didn't think it would rain but I'll be fi-" before she could finish her sentence. Izuku had taken off his jacket and offered it out to her
"Here. Wear this." Izuku stated
Mina was slightly taken aback "It's okay Midori. I don't need it hehe". Suddenly the rain began to pour down on them and it nearly soaked Mina until she snatched Izuku's jacket, which was a bit too big, and put it on. "Nevermind hehe... Thanks Midori~" she looked at him thankfully then looked concerned "Wait, what about you?"
Izuku blushed so much that the rain on his face turned to steam. "I... I have an idea but it's..."
Mina tilted her head in confusion.
Halfway back to the dorms, Mina was on the receiving end of a piggyback ride curtousy of Izuku Midoriya who was jogging through the rain. Izuku had informed her that they could get there faster if he carried her, his high tops were slip resistant so he could jog through the rain and she wouldn't have to worry about skipping in her flats. Mina chose for him to carry her like this so she could unzip the jacket and cover him from most of the rain.
It was very apparent as they blazed through the rain that both of them had constructed a very well made plan. However, Mina was only now realizing how much of an absolute hunk Izuku was. As she held onto his shoulders, she could feel his muscles working to balance out the added weight of Ashido. And feeling his strong hands on her thighs was enough to get her to blush a light lavender.
Izuku wasn't faring and better though, having to grab Mina's thighs was already a lot, but feeling her chest on his back and her breath on his neck was beginning to make him overheat.
Izuku finally stopped at a nearby store. The store was closed but fortunately there was an awning that shielded them from the utter down pour of rain.
Izuku had his hands on his knees catching his breath.
"Sorry..." Mina said, almost as a whisper
Izuku turned to her confused
"I didn't know I'd... Be that heavy..." Mina said, now clearly embarrassed
Izuku quickly stood up "N-No, Ashi... Mina, it wasn't that. It was something else... Your um... Chest was pressing into my back... Sorry"
Mina was wide eyed at him and he feared she would slap him so he closed his eyes waiting for it... But it never came. Instead he looked back up to see her giving him happy smirk.
"You really are a great guy, Izuku" Mina said softly. Izuku was surprised to hear his first name but... It didn't make him blush surprisingly enough. "You're going to make some girl really happy one day." She looked out at the rainfall.
"You're strong, bold, sensitive, good at arcade games hehe... and then there's that heroic heart to wrap it all in a neat bow." Mina chuckled. "Maybe one day, I'll find a guy like that." She kept watching the rainfall until suddenly she felt those same string hands from before gently grab her hand.
She turned to her hand then looked at him. He gave her a smile worth more than any words he could have said. The two embraced this moment for a bit longer as she laid her head on his shoulder, trying not to stab him with her horns.
About 10 minutes later, they were back to their positions, running through the rain... with no blushes in sight.
They finally made it to the porch of the dorms and trued to dry themselves off as much as they could. Izuku kicking the extra water off his shoes and wiping them on the wood floor while Mina shook furiously to get the rain off.
Finally , once they were dry enough they smiled to each other as Izuku opened the door for her and she gave a playful bow to him while still in his jacket.
Mina looked to her fellow classmates and waved to them while skipping to her room.
Izuku was then left there "Sorry guys we got caught in the rain hehe". Todoroki and Uraraka were the first to pummel him with questions about where he was. Uraraka, however, didn't feel comfortable addressing the green jacket on Mina earlier.
Meanwhile Mina sat on her chair in her room, practically using his jacket as pajamas as she drifted into a nap mumbling. "Hmmm... My Midori~"
