Tenno Planetary Orbiter
A lone figure sat, staring silently at the moon that loomed over her orbiter. The swirling vortex behind her helmet's faceplate twitched in agitation. She had just succeeded in pulling the elusive satellite out of the void, causing more of that unstable realm to seep into the normal one.
In any other context, that would have been considered a failed mission. She hadn't heard a word from either Ordis, or the Lotus since the act, making it seem more plausible that she had. If she could have frowned, she believed she would have been doing so.
She wasn't used to the silence, having grown accustomed to the almost constant chatter. She almost considered trying to converse with a Grineer soldier. Even when aware of the fact she knew they would sooner shoot at her then fulfill her need for conversation.
However, the silence that bothered her the most was the one in her own head.
Ever since she had returned to her Orbiter, and after the Stalker Frame attacked her, she felt empty. She couldn't quite put a finger on what it was. Ignoring the jagged scar that went from her stomach to her shoulder, she wasn't missing any parts.
And even that was healing.
Lowering her gaze, she looked down to her hand, flexing her fingers. A small bubble of magnetic force popped into existence, however it crackled weakly as compared to what it used to be. Letting out a low groan, she quickly clenched her fist and the bubble fizzled out.
Her powers also had stopped working properly since that day, and it made her feel worthless.
She was supposed to be a weapon of the Lotus, but now she couldn't even do her job effectively.
Shaking her head she quickly stood and turned towards the open ramp that sat behind the navigation controls. She then slowly made her way down the ramp, ignoring the stiffness in her limbs.
Once more she found herself at the device that was often used to put her back together. Activating the Arsenal, she initiated the scanners and remained motionless as the arms opened up. They then rotated around her as a white light slowly moved over her.
After several moments of silence, the arms quickly returned to their slots and the display blinked on. Quickly reading the results, she again groaned as it gave her the answers it had been since that day.
There was nothing wrong with her.
The sound of crunching metal snapped her out of her daze. Looking towards the source of the noise, she found her fist wrist deep in the Arsenal. The machine sputtered as sparks spilled onto the floor as she quickly pulled her hand from the new hole.
She just knew that Ordis was going to give her an earful about that later. If he finally decided to actually speak to her again.
Deciding that she needed to distance herself from the Arsenal, she quickly descended deeper into the Orbiter. Almost as if on instinct, she found herself standing before a door with the Lotus' emblem on the lock.
Before the mission on Lua, this door had never opened, she had often asked Ordis what was behind the door. He offered no answers that satisfied her curiosity, which bothered her to no end.
However, following her return, the door had opened, and it was now the impromptu room of her new passenger. The only thing she had managed to retrieve from the moon before she had to escape.
This person, a young girl, had been sealed inside a massive cryopod. Lotus had ordered her to get the girl to safety. However she had been practically leaking void energies, which had made it difficult to rescue her. Her body had practically shut down being so close to what was essentially a fountain of void.
Following bringing the girl back to the Orbiter, Lotus had sealed the girl inside the room. She remembered being more surprised about actually seeing the woman than the fact that the door now opened.
Gaze lowering towards the lock, she slowly placed a hand on the center of the mechanism. The door still wouldn't open for her, no matter how much she tried forcing her way in. She wanted to know how the girl was doing. She had only been conscious for a few moments while she carried her back to the Lander.
Hitting her helmet against the door she groaned in frustration, she needed to know that the girl was alright. Aside from the painful silence, it was the only thing on her mind.
Pulling herself away from the door, she turned and started heading back towards navigation. Again she needed to try and get her mind off of the girl, off of the silence.
There was a Corpus fleet nearby, and they would easily keep her mind off of her problems.
At least they actually talked.
However, as she was about to ascend the ramp to the upper level, she heard a deep hiss. Her head snapped around to the door, shocked to see it slowly opening. Pausing in her movement, she stared at the opening, wondering if she was seeing things.
Curiosity taking hold of her, she quickly returned to the door. Peering into the room she was met by the sight of a large machine in the back to the room, surrounded by white tree roots.
"Mag…?"
At the sudden noise she flinched backward, surprised that someone had actually spoken. When the shock faded, instincts took hold as she lowered into a fighting stance. Slowly entering the room, she examined her surroundings, trying to locate who had spoken.
Ever since Stalker had gotten onto her ship, she was not going to get caught off guard again.
Moving closer to the unknown machine, she began considering that whoever had spoken could be hiding behind said machine. However, another shrill hiss caused her to stop in her advance.
Turning in the direction of the hiss, she was stunned to see the machine beginning to move. The device's front slowly split apart. She began worrying that her presence had caused something to go wrong. There was still much about the Orbiter that she wasn't allowed to know.
Staying still she watch as the machine continued to move. The sides slid away and back into the floor as the front seemed to buckle. Another hiss filled the room as the front of the machine then split open. When everything was open, she was met with a the sight of the girl sitting on a metallic chair.
The girl had pale skin and white hair that slowly faded into blue, both of which were in direct contrast with her black bodysuit. The girl looked like she was sleeping, so she carefully moved towards the machine. However, when the girl fidgeted as if she was having a bad dream, she threw all caution to the wind as instincts took over.
Stopping before the girl, she knelt down and gently placed a hand onto the girl's head. Carefully prodding the girl she attempted to find what was wrong. The girl's body was rather thin, and she felt like she had to hold herself back to prevent hurting her.
"Mag?"
Flinching at the voice, Mag slowly shifted her focus towards the girl's face. Twin emerald orbs stared into the vortex as the girl gave her a tired smile. The girl then slowly lifted an arm from the chair and placed it against her cheek.
A warmth swept through Mag's frame, causing her to flinch uncontrollably. The girl watched her reaction, and let out a quiet giggle as she watched Mag attempt to collect herself.
"Good morning, Mag."
Mag really didn't understand why, but she really enjoyed hearing that.
I hope you enjoyed!
My friend recently introduced me to Warframe, and I instantly fell in love with Mag. She also let me make an Operator, so that is what I based this Operator on.
I know this seems like an abrupt stopping point, but I don't know how long I want this story to be. So, I stopped it there for now.
Oh, I'm sorry, but I don't know much about Warframe, just what my friend told me about. So, if there is anything wrong, I apologize.
This would have been up on Friday, but I didn't have access to my computer.
Again, I hope you enjoyed.
Have a nice day!
