NOTE: This is a strip for my YouTube Special I'm making. You can read it as I don't mind. The reason I'm making this one here is because I can read it on my 3Ds (Yes, I'm reading off that.) during the recording. Please just skip this one, unless you want to spoil yourself, which I don't blame you.
Part 1
ARG... This was the name of game that was play in real life. In fact, the name stands for Alternative Reality Game. For years this dark trend was popular, giving people a fun look in horror and/or mystery. However, now in days it's a conversy to the bone and many are afraid of it. This begs the question; what happened? Well, let's us start by talking about ARG's Timeline.
Part 2
1999- It's starts with Blair Witch Project. A movie that started the ARG horror.
2008- The SCP was born; a ARG web series
2009- Liamas with Hats, the first ARG video series, was born.
2010- 11 years later, Creepypasa started popping up. They're funny, yet creepy Fanfics made with some ARG elements.
2011- ARG blew up in popularity with some classics like Don't Hug me I'm Scared and Alantutorial.
2014- Poppy came to be... however things begain to change... with the Slenderman stabbing (Which was two girls believing that Slender was real and tried to kill another girl...
2017- Then three years later, it truly started to change with a spilt between the ARG fandom by them cutting of Fanfics amd head cannons (We touch on this later). Two new ARGs was made... but had problems. Catghost had development Hell and Local 58 had to many copycats. Due to this... problems began to happen.
2019- Like clockwork things hits the fan as as Nexpo (A known ARG speaker) stop talking about ARGs and started talking about dark subjects. Poppy also changed, turning into the thing that her ARG was talking about: Trashy Stars. Also, an unfortunate face showed up to ruin the ARG format. This person was Nathan Barnatt a.k.a Dad as he calls himself.
2020- This video series quickly started the 'Unfiction' series, which Night Mind (another ARG Speaker) started to promote. This causes more confusing the ARG and that's just the frosting of the cake as Nexpo tried to start a war with YouTube. This was because YouTube mess up with a man name Max who posted a warning video for parents. (P.S. Yes, I WON'T go into details. Go look it up yourself because I'm talking about that crap.) Then it got worse with I am Sophie, really showing why Coppa happened FAST. Finally.. at the end of this year, Nexpo lost it when a person know as Rabbit Hole was stocking him. He literally took things to extremes.
With that... let's talk about what happened.
Part 3
The first thing that happened was simple and is the biggest problem was fear. Parents was scared that there kids will become killers and/or kill themselves. People worry about the mental heath was going to join a cult. I wish I would make this up.. but I'm not.
The second problem was no doubt the removal of Fans. As you just saw, Night Mind really made the ARG fandom HATE the Fanfics Writers. It's funny.. because Creepypasa, which was a BUCH of Fanfics, was the true start to ARG on the web. It's sad to because most Fanfic writers don't even CARE about ARGs. However, the ARG fans didn't care and began Labeling them has 'GameJackers'. That's not all as they also began attacking criticisms. So Five Nights at Freddy's ain't scary? Point proveded. A thing to note is that these ARG people will harass you to death. A big example is when a channel known as 'Fishing in Space', was getting attack for showcasing his opinion on Nexpo Vs. R.H. and they're where NASTY. They ultimately started saying he was horny and wanting to bone R.H. Now I don't know he deleted it on himself, he did it for me because I've or YouTube deletes it... but his video was gone. Because there's no Freedom of Speech, many dropped out.
This was worsened by Nathan, who used his influence to lie about many people who've NOTHING to do with his ARG. He's also political, which is ALWAYS a bad move. Due to this, became more like a cult leader...
Finally, it was due to many being confused on what to believe. Keep in mind that they began changing the rules on how an ARG works. They also began spilting in with the Unfiction bullshit.
Part 4
There's is hope however. GPReed is making a very well ARG. So is Mikey Lugo. Creepypasa has been getting more aware, with Slenderman just got a movie. However, it will take time. What's needs to be done is to allow everyones options. No one should be shut up. What's also needs to be done is to fix the blurred from stories to Cults and/or harm. It's just stories, NOT REAL.
