Prologue
In the darkness of the temple, a small figure clad in white prayed. Its linen cloak was covering most of its body, revealing only blonde threads that escaped from the hood and two joined hands. One was made of flesh and spotted a golden bracelet. The other was artificial, a crude prosthetic made of bronze and wood.
"Lord of the sky, celestial dragon, whatever your name is, please, answer my call…"
Answer my call, answer my call, answer my call, mighty dragon. Tears fell on the cold stone flood. A scepter of sycamore, ivory and gold was lying in front of the figure, the end shaped like a Djed, the spine of Osiris.
"Lord of the sky, celestial dragon, answer my call…"
Green light flooded the temple. The young priest raised his head, revealing two purple eyes red from crying and a black and blonde spiked mane. Two long bangs were falling on his chest from the side, and his skin was tanned by the Egyptian sun.
In the sky, a dragon of green energy appeared. Its name came to the mind of the young priest.

The Viridian Dragon of Fate
No word was spoken between dragon and mortal. There was no need for it. Instead, the viridian dragon touched the priest with its claw and his soul rose to meet the being as his body fell back, dead. In the sky, the pair looked at one another. In a swift move, the Viridian Dragon caressed the priest's arm with its tail and breathed, sending the soul to be reborn.
In the abandoned temple, the priest's body glowed brightly, morphing into a draconic form. When the light faded, where there had been a body now stood an immaculate humanoid dragon, with horns shaped like a hat and a left arm made of white wood and silver. The dragon looked down. The scepter of ivory and acacia was still on the ground. Casting a glance at the Viridian Dragon, he took the scepter and flew away.
So... a few years ago, I started a story called Crimson Destiny, which I gave up after a while. Several years, a lot of world-building and expending and general development later, here is the result: a complete universe. Viridian Destiny is the first series, divided in several books, each covering one arc of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series. This time, I hope I will stay firmly in that fandom and be able to properly develop that saga.
So, without further ado, enjoy.
