{Song: "The Verge" by Owl City ft. Aloe Blacc}
Standing up in the twilight of the evening, I look out towards the horizon, the end of the new day that will soon bring about a new one. Turning back to the party behind me, I reflect on everything I've done to get to this moment, and the people I've met along the way.
I see Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, the two characters that started me on my writing journey. The two of them discuss their next heroic mission, and I remember the encouragement I got from the people I meet to keep their story going. While I may not go back to the Zootopia Heroic Universe, I'll never forget how it got me started on my journey.
Next to them, I see Karasu and Shen, along with the rest of the Tao Go. What had started as a simple what if story became something greater, and even brought me some new friends. I see Shen laughing alongside a nervous fox, though they smile at the joke as well, with Karasu giving a nod to a beetle. Grey and Alex were two of my biggest supporters for Kung Fu Panda, and while Alex may have moved on from writing, the two of us will always support each other.
Revali stands by himself, but that's no surprise. Just as he turns to leave, another Rito stops him, a smile on her face as they start to talk. I still have plans for the Champion of the Rito, and one day I hope to show them to the world so they can understand how much Revali means to me as a character.
Rocket and Lylla sit a table together, with their daughter Shocket situated between them. The family of Half-Worlders is another story I'm surprised got as much support as it did. Of course, Shocket isn't going to let me leave her story hanging, though. This summer, her story is going to really get going!
Spyro and Cynder sit across from Rocket and Lylla. As much as I love the two dragons, it can be hard for me to write about them sometimes. I guess that's what happens when you love a character that much. I will give them a full story someday, though for now I'll let them have a time of peace and happiness. They truly deserve it.
Next, I see Gabriel introducing Jasiri to Jet and Wave, the hyena excited to meet new friends from other worlds. The Disney community has been super supportive of me, and though the Kingdom Hearts fans have mostly been silent, I hope that those that do find my story will enjoy it as well. Jet gives me a look, and I hope up my hands and laugh. It may be a while before I get back to their story, but I promise that the Babylon Rogues will get their own spotlight in the future.
I see my Pokémon Trainers all conversing together, talking about where their next destination will be. Azakael has been a supporter of me for years, even outside of writing. If I look closely, I can even see a certain trio of Rowlett, Froakie, and Xurkitree standing closer to the back of the crowd, a reminder of the people I encouraged to write as well. This Pokémon journey is one that will continue.
Finally, I see characters that I have yet to write, but ones that I have learned from: Lena le Strange converses the dark arts with Fumikage Tokoyami and Morgana, Alopex and Mao Mao are comparing their own views of justice, Beerus and Juno sample the many foods on the table, and many other characters just enjoy the party.
"Well then, kitten, aren't you going to join the festivities?" asked Samantha, the cat hoping up to perch on my shoulder.
"Yeah, this party is for you," added Octavia Goetia, the owl girl coming to stand by my side.
I smiled at both of them, excited for the new adventure the three of us would share together in near future. "Of course. I'm on the verge of the rest of my life tonight, so how about we go see where it takes us?"
I hold to my dragon necklace, and we finally join in the celebration.
Author's Note
Today is a big day for me in the real world: I'm graduating college with a degree in English Creative Writing, and a minor in Latin. I'll be one of the top students in my class, with both Honors and being nominated for the President's List. More importantly, this starts a new turn in my life as the beginning of a new era of writing.
When I first started writing fan fiction back in 2017, I had just gotten my new laptop and started college. On a whim, I decided to stop just reading fan fiction and write my own. That's how I got started on stories like "Zootopia Heroic Universe" and "Phoenix of Yin, Dragon of Yang." Since then, I've written over 20 stories, met so many people on this website, and learned more as a writer so that I may one day write my own feature novel.
Now then, just because I've started a new chapter in my life doesn't mean I'm going away any time soon! I've still got to finish my current stories, but I wanted to pay tribute to what I've done before and what I want to do in the future. That ending scene is a bit of a tease for the story I'm going to write once with "Challenge of the Sorcerer's Arena."
I want to give a big thank you to everyone that's supported me for almost four years now. It's been great getting to have small conversations with all of you!
As for the future, be on the lookout for more stories and maybe even a few more surprises. Until then, this is The Dragon Saver, wishing you all love, protection, and most of all, hope for a future that grows brighter every day.
