Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story. This one for Korra. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Avatar, Nick, Michael Dante DiMartino, and Bryan Konietzko do.

When Kuvira made her call for unity? It made many people fly to her banner, many out of the need for money.

Zhang had joined for a sense of purpose and to defend the Earth Kingdom. He knew very well that the 'Earth Empire' grew in number every day. There were more people who wanted to join Kuvira's banner.

It made Zhang giddy to know that more people would end up working with the Great Uniter.

"You ever wonder how things got so bad to get to here?" Zhang heard from one of the soldiers as the Sergeant shrugged.

"Because of chaos from the death of the Earth Queen." Zhang put in as he walked next to one of the soldiers. "I can't believe we let her run the kingdom into the ground." Zhang put in while looking to the other soldier.

"She was the queen; she'd send the Dai Li after anyone who didn't fall in line." The other said to which Zhang chuckled.

Kuvira had assigned the first wave of her soldiers based on their skill with Earth bending. Zhang heard that she would make something more final when time went on.

"She was also a sociopath who put the kingdom in that position." Zhang responded and cracked his hands. "If it wasn't for her? Maybe we wouldn't have fallen apart so fast. Hey, when did you join the army?" Zhang questioned and crossed his arms.

"Oh, like a day or so ago." The other soldier put in which caused Zhang to pat him on the shoulder.

"Well, I would get settled in." Zhang added and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "I signed up the first day she announced recruitments. Long as we get some order back home? I feel like anything would be better than that." Zhang stated and got a hum from the soldier.

Zhang knew better then to ask how many members their movement had. They were gaining steam with every single day. It wouldn't matter if they started out small.

"Have you met the boss in person?" The other soldier questioned which caused Zhang to nod. "Really? What's she like?" The other soldier asked which caused Zhang to hum.

"It's not easy to talk about commander Kuvira." Zhang responded and crossed his arms. "She's not around every day unless she wants to talk to one of us. I don't know what she's planning to do yet… But she did stop a riot that cleared things up. Got her a lot of support when she did that." Zhang put in and sighed.

Zhang couldn't understand what Kuvira's next move was, however. He was a soldier; it wasn't his place to question things more than anything else.

Kuvira was still the commander of their operation which meant they'd report to her when today was done. Zhang was hopeful that things would get better when the day was done. It would make things seem more hopeful to report to the commander.

"Oh… Well hopefully we get to relax and take things easy when we head to the next city." The soldier put in which caused Zhang to blink at this.

Zhang didn't know they had plans so soon. It seemed that Kuvira wanted to move fast and hard. Zhang hummed and blinked before nodding slowly.

"Well… Thank you for informing me of that." Zhang slowly stated before cracking his fingers and looking to the side and hummed with amusement.

The two soldiers continued to walk slowly through the barracks. They were tired and wished to get some sleep when it got to it. Soldiers like them couldn't act with sleep to fuel them.

Zhang could only wonder what would their leader would do when it came up to her next step. If they didn't want to get killed? They'd have to make people stop fighting and accept that Kuvira could lead them to their victory sooner or later.

Still? If Zhang had understood how things would be when it came down to it.

He had a duty to handle, and he would serve it in the end as it gave them a sense of safety.

"We should talk to the commander and make sure she's ok." Zhang pointed out.

Phew. First chapter done! I want to point out that Zhang will be playing a bigger role in season 4 and such. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show Zhang talking and bonding more with Kuvira or such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
