Rise of the Alphas
*Disclaimer: This story takes place in an alternate universe where both franchises live amongst each other.*
Prologue
Isla de Mara. A mexican island filled with people, and home Monarch outpost 56, an active volcano. The volcano is in stable condition, but unknown to the public could blow at any moment. On one day, the Volcano did become unstable. After a series of earthquakes in the area, all speculated to be linked to global warming. Monarch evacuated the premises knowing what was coming. The volcano had been sealed shut, keeping the demon out. But now, he was ready. The ground trembles, the lid starting to burst as the final few helicopters take off. The people of Isla de Mara panic as the Titan sirens sound. They rush to save themselves. As then the lid bursts completely, smoke pours out into the sky, and a huge, dark, silhouette peers from the haze. Standing at around 200ft tall, the monster is blanketed by a dark cloud, hiding his appearance from the people below. As the smoke starts to clear, the beak of the creature becomes visible, and then its humongous wings, stretching out far out, at least 800ft long, covering the sky with a dark shadow. The dust settled, and stood before the entire World, Rodan, The Fire Demon.
Gipsy pilots Raleigh Becket and Mako Mori closed the breach in 2025, and they became heroes, icons. They were immortalized in history. While the Gipsey Danger fell, a replica was made. Not Gipsy Avenger. This was the real Gipsy, including all the features of the original, and even extra jet boosters, that were added because of the battle with Otachi. Gipsy was stored away, only few knew about its existence and it was only made for extreme emergencies. Raleigh said he would never fight in one again, after they closed the breach.
Act 1
Rodan took to the sky, as he swept over the city below the great volcano, using his destructive shockwave as the buildings all were torn apart. Rodan flew over the city and out to sea, being followed by multiple fighter jets, Rodan did a barrel roll, destroying the jets as he did once before. He then clapped his wings together in his sonic boom, the fighters exploded. The ones that were farther away lost all power and fell into the ocean, some of those pilots were able to eject and make it out alive. The city of Isla de Mara, left in ruins lost all its power.
The Pan Pacific Defense Corps were immediately informed about this incident by Monarch, they hesitated to release any Jaegers as they thought Apex might release their beast. But they were holding out too. They took action and deployed two Jaegers to handle it. Gipsey Avenger, and Scrapper. The two headed into battle with Scraper riding on the shoulders of Avenger. They reached Rodans location off the coast of Isla de Mara, Rodan was Nowhere to be seen. Rodan swooped down from the clouds and screeched as he picked Scrapper up with its giant talons, and brought Scrapper up into the fog. Rodan then drove his clawed feet through Scrappers chest and ripped the top of scrappers head, leaving Kai, the pilot, to be face to face with the mighty titan. Kai was scared, she was struggling to unstrap herself from her cockpit, Rodan peered at her and checked her out. Then without any more hesitation ripped her out of the jaeger, crushing her and tossing her into the air, then catching her limp body in his mouth. He dropped the dismantled body of Scrapper and dove back down to deal with the much larger and stronger Jaeger.
Gipsey Avenger was waiting below, looking and calling for Scrapper. Then the small jaeger fell before them, crushed, the two pilots knew what had happened, their beloved friend Kai, was dead. Jacob Pentecost and Nathan Lambert, the two pilots stared at each other, Jacob starting to tear up, "We gotta kill him, now!" he said. As just then, Rodan dropped down, screeching at them as he charged them. He was able to sink his talons into Avengers chest. But the giant jaeger acted quickly, sending a right hook straight into the face of Rodan, knocking him off them and into the water. Rodan tried to fly up when Avenger drew its sword, and took a swing into the ocean. Rodan was able to squirm out of the way and take off into the air. Avenger opened up and fired three missiles at Rodan. They all hit and Rodan didn't even flinch. He turned around and fired his own Uranium heat ray, shooting straight through Avengers chest. The jaeger was in critical condition, they tried to regain balance when Rodan used his sonic boom again, knocking the gipsey offline and crushing it up like a pop can. Avenger tipped over, falling into the ocean, and with its chest wound it started to flood. The two pilots climbed out of the crumbled up metal machine and made their way onto the outside of it. Rodan swooped back around and flew over them. His destructive shockwave hit them. Sending them flying into the ocean at such a high rate, it killed Jacob upon impact, and Nathan having survived it, was crushed as Gipsey Avenger slammed into him. Forcing him under it and he drowned, as he couldn't find his way back to the surface. Rodan flew around and back atop the Volcano as he called out with a roar, warning anyone else who dared to test him.
Act 2
When the PPDC heard of the recent events they knew they were out of options. They knew that if they kept sending in basic Jaegers they were just gonna keep on getting killed. So they did what they needed to do, this was an extreme emergency. Mako Mori was still working with the PPDC, so she was alerted first, she agreed but on one term, Raleigh must fight alongside her. The PPDC was unaware of his whereabouts, but Mako thought she knew where he'd be.
Mako traveled to the city of Anchorage, Alaska. She went to the shoreline, the beach frozen over with a layer of ice and snow. One small cabin stood just off the water. Mako approached the cabin, and knocked on the door. "Go away," a voice said from inside the cabin. "My name is Mako Mori, I'm from the PPDC," said Mako. The door creaked open, "Mako?" said the voice. The door swung open, Raleigh Becket stood before her. "I know why you've come, and I'm not helping," he said. "You know what's happening, we need your help," Mako replied. " You know why I live up here. My brother died here, and everyday I look out to the sea, hoping he will come back. Every day." said Raleigh. "He isn't coming back, and I'm sorry about that, but if we don't help, more people will lose their lives, and more families will mourn. You know Gipsy is out there, we must go and fight, for Yancy, and for Stacker." Mako said with a tear in her eye. Raleigh looked up at Mako, "One more time, one more fight, lets go kill that son of a bitch". Raleigh and Mako headed to go get Gipsy, and face off with Rodan. Raleigh contacted Tendo Choi, an old shatterdome technician and good friend of theirs, he could lead them to Gipsy. After a brief phone call Raleigh returned to Mako with a place to meet Choi, they got in a helicopter to meet with him.
Back in Isla de Mara, Rodan sat atop his throne, peering down at the demolished city below him. He was king now, no one to rival him, no Ghidorah, no Alphas. Rodan was the only one left, at least the only one who wasn't dormant.
Raleigh and Mako were able to meet with Tendo. They made small talk as Tendo told them where Gipsy was stored and the two went to head off to find Gipsy. Tendo added that he would like to join them, after all they're going to need someone to guild them. So now the three of them headed off to Hong Kong. When they arrived they were at the old shatterdome, it was rundown now, as it had been abandoned by the PPDC after they built a new facility in China. Tendo wasted no time entering as Raleigh and Mako followed closely. Instead of going up and into the shatterdome, Tendo took the elevator down. They traveled far down into the facility, when they reached the bottom, the automatic lights activated and all systems came back online. This part of the facility looked brand new, neither Raleigh or Mako knew about this area, They all walked through the facility and made their way to the glass window at the back. When they got there they stared in shock, as what stood before them was a 300ft tall giant, painted navy blue and with a single power thruster in its chest. It was Gipsy Danger.
Act 3
New and improved the Jaeger had never looked better, it was fitted with all new weapon systems and even some brand new gadgets. Raleigh and Mako suited up with help from Tendo, they got inside the giant Jaeger and Tendo hopped back on the mic from the control room. They were ready for a fight. Gipsy shot up through the roof and when it got back to the surface it was moved out the giant doors and out onto the ocean. All the systems still worked, but this Jaeger had new systems and it would take a while for these pilots to learn the controls. They entered the drift, their memories merging again. They saw each other's memories from right after they split, Raleigh's downfall, and Mako's grief. When they exited they felt like they just caught up after all those years, they both felt better and more confident about the fight, they were ready. With the neural handshake complete they were deployed. Gipsey Danger back and ready to fight. They got back their skills with ease, picking up into a run through the water. They did a weapons test as they tested out the sword, plasma caster and then the new jet boosters. As they tried it out, it went out of control and surging into the sea, head first. Gipsey arose and shook the water off. Military grade choppers now surrounded them, they hooked to Gipsy and picked it up, towing it to Isla de Mara. With Tendo still able to talk and communicate with them. The fire demon stood tall on his throne, the military took charges at him with missiles but they acted like nerf bullets to Rodan. Then, he sensed it, a threat, a fight worthy of his time. Rodan took to the skys to go on a hunt, to truly claim himself as king. He was going for Gipsy.
"Watch out, Rodans on the move, drop Gipsy, and get ready for a fight!" Said Tendo, as he watched Rodan leave the volcano from a live news feed. The chopper squad dropped Gipsy and made a retreat so as to not get caught in the battle. When Gipsy landed in the water they were ready to fight. "I've lost sight of him guys, hang in there, be ready for his attack". Tendo called out to them. Rodan was up above the clouds, undetectable from Gipsy, until he dove down for an attack. Rodan swooped down and drove its talons into the back of the Jaeger, Gipsy used their new articulately hips and spun their chest around and delivered a hard right hook to Rodans face, knocking the beast off. Rodan flew up and around them now coming for a blow to their front side. Gypsies hips swung back around and grabbed him by the neck, choking him and then slamming him down under the water, drowning him. But Rodan fought back by wrapping giant wings around Gipsy and pulling it into the water as well, falling on top of Rodan. Then Rodan drove his beak through the visor of Gipsy, shattering half of it and causing water to pour in. Then he pushed the mech aside and struggled but was able to climb out of the water and fly up. Gipsy surfaced fairly quickly, Mako had been knocked unconscious, so Raleigh had to take control himself. Rodan came swooping in but Gipsy was able to deflect Rodan with a punch to the face, then summoning the sword. Raleigh knew he would only have one chance to kill it. Rodan came in for another pass by this time using his uranium heat ray, blowing away part of Gipsies leg. Raleigh screamed in pain as he struggled to pull the mech up as Rodan then grabbed Gipsy and picked them up, bringing them up above the clouds. Raleigh swiped with the sword but was out of range. He retracted it and fighting through the pain drew out his plasma caster, charging it up and firing it, blowing a huge hole out of Rodans wing and sending him plummeting into the ocean. Rodan fell limp, he had been defeated. Gipsy also fell but Raleigh had been here before, and now he had rocket boosters. He tried to use them again as he fell, to avoid hitting so hard. He was able to ignite them just before landing and it made for a semi smooth landing. As helicopters flew all around them, Gipsy was a hero again. But Raleigh started losing consciousness as a single pilot cannot control a Jaeger himself. He made it to the coast of Hong Kong, where he colapassed. Gipsy smashed against the sandy shore. Ambulances and emergency personnel rushed to the scene, getting both pilots out of the Jaeger and on their way to the hospital. Back in sea Rodan layed. His body remained limp and his tongue was out of his mouth, boats approached him to drag him back to land. But as they were hooking themselves on to him he awoke, screeching as he picked himself up, flying up and dragging the boats with him. He shot up into the sky with a sonic boom. Causing all the helicopters and boats in the area to explode. He screeched put again as he soared through the sky on his way back to his home.
Act 4
The world stood in shock. Their greatest hero had failed them, evil had taken over. Rodan was king. Gypsies mechanical body was picked up and brought back to the new shatterdome in China, the training facility run by the PPDC. They also raided the old location, finding Tendo. They imprisoned him in the China shatterdome.
Days passed, and Rodan had caused more damage, spreading his reign of terror to the mainland. Decimating parts of Mexico and the US before the military chased him off. The PPDC were out of hope, all their Jaegers had been destroyed, the only one they had left was Gipsy, and she was still being repaired. Mako had been able to leave the hospital but Raleigh was still unconscious, despite him being completely healed, he just wouldn't wake up. Mako pleaded that they must let her and Raleigh fight again, but the PPDC denied her request. Instead they were planning to put two new pilots in the suit and hope they could kill Rodan. Mako was furious as she knew that only her and Raleigh could defeat the fire demon.
So she took matters into her own hands. That night she broke Tendo out of prison by using her high level of security to transfer him out of his cell. But she never brought him to another cell, together they went to the hospital only to find out Raleigh was in good enough condition to leave. But someone had been drugging him to keep him asleep, faking it and making it seem he was in a coma. So Mako and Tendo took Raelighs body, put sunglasses on him, and threw him in a wheelchair. They pushed the chair throughout the hallways, people giving them odd looks as Raleigh's head kept slumping over. Finally a nurse caught on to what was happening and a swarm of guards started to chase them down. They took off running down the hallway, speeding through the exit and they booked it into their car, stuffing Raleigh into a seat and taking off, leaving the wheelchair sitting alone in the parking lot. As they drove to the shatterdome they tried to get Raleigh to wake up, they tried pouring water over his head, didnt work, Tendo suggested smacking him awake but that wasn't going to work. So Mako gave him a kiss on the cheek and he finally woke up. When Raleigh came to, he was confused, but after Mako filled him in on what happened, he was ready to finish the fight. They were able to get in again due to Makos high ranking, and they made it to hanger 34, where Gipsy had been stored. She had been fixed up, and given all new swords and repaired boosters. Raleigh and Mako suited up for a battle, knowing that if they failed again, millions would die, and they would become criminals.
Tendo was able to distract the security just long enough for Gipsy to be released. As the giant mech was being released the security and employees caught on to what was happening, so they shut down all systems, lucky for The two pilots Gipsy ran off its own power source. But still the doors shut on the hanger closing them in. "Stand down, and get out of the Jaeger", came through the intercom. Raleigh replied back "You wish, open the doors, or I'll make a new one". "You had your chance", said the voice back. Then Raleigh acted quickly and he engaged his plasma caster, and blew a hole through the door. Then Gipsy ran forward and pried the door open, running out into the raining night. Once Gipsy got free the pilots initiated the neural handshake, once it was complete, they were ready to fight. By now helicopters were swarming Gipsy, but they didnt stop Gipsy from going to Rodan. As they picked up speed Gipsy jumped up into the air, and burst off using its new thrusters, now the pilots were able to control it. They could now fly and become Rodans equal. They arrived at Isla de Mara, Rodan peered down at them, with a cocky look on his face, he was ready to destroy them. Gipsy didn't back down showing no fear and even made a beat down gesture.
Rodan let out a loud voice as he flew down into battle. As he drew closer he led with his talons, Gipsy caught the giant creature and slammed him onto the ground. Gipsy then stomped on Rodans chest and Raleigh engaged his plasma caster again. He charged it up and right when he went to shoot it Rodan shot a heat ray at Gipsy. Burning off its hand sending Raleigh into immense pain. Rodan caped Gipsy with his wings and tossed Gipsy to the ground then Rodan got on his feet, as did Gipsy. They had a brief stare down before Rodan shot up into the air, Gipsy jumped and boosted up alongside him. Gipsy, now missing its hand, engaged its sword, so he could still use a weapon. When Rodan noticed they were following him he used his sonic boom. But before he could fully complete the attack Gipsy grabbed onto Rodans wing and pulled down below them. Gipsy then reversed its thrusters and kicked Rodan down, slamming him against the ground again. This time sending a huge shockwave throughout the planet. Shaking so far down into the earth it could even be felt at the bottom of the Ocean, enough of a bang to wake a giant.
Gipsy flew down and tried to stab Rodan with its sword. But Rodan dodged the attack and instead drove one of his claws into Gypsies shoulders. Gipsy used its chest reactor to blow Rodan flying back, slamming into the volcano. Mako then opened up her plasma caster and without hesitation blew three holes through Rodans wings. He screeched out in pain, then he reacted by using his uranium heat beam, blasting Gipsy back, and sending it into the water. Rodan attempted to fly away but upon tyring failed and crashed back down on the ruins of the city. Gipsy got back up and went to finish Rodan. As they approached him Mako re-engaged her plasma caster, aiming right at Rodans head. She fired but Rodan used his wing to block the shot, creating another large hole in his wing. Rodan then stabbed Gipsy with his clawed hand straight through Gypsies face. The attack hit Raleigh and tore off his lower leg. He dropped to the floor as Gipsy started to glitch out and Mako was losing control. Rodan rose up and watched as Gipsy slowly fell on one knee, as he heated up his fire breath to albretorate Gipsy. A giant figure came out of the water behind Gipsy. A four hundred feet tall figure, jagged spikes ran down his back, he walked with confidence, as his massive tail dragged behind him. It was Godzilla. He stared down Rodan, and snarled at him, and stood tall as the Alpha titan. Rodans emotion quickly changed into panic, he hissed back at the giant lizard. But he knew he was no match for the King of the Monsters. Rodan gave in, climbing back atop his volcano and going back into hibernation. Letting one more screech out before Godzilla cut him off by letting out a roar of his own. As Rodan was gone, Godzilla looked down at Gipsy, as he towered over the mech. He looked deep inside the half shattered gold visor, before turning back out to sea. Swimming away and vanishing into the abyss that is the ocean. Gipsy fell, Mako carried Raeligh out, as he desperately clung onto life. As medical vehicles approached they took him away rushing him to the hospital. Mako was picked up by the PPDC, who thanked her for her service but terminated her for stealing Gipsy, and using her power to break out a prisoner and steal someone from the hospital. Raleigh received years on house arrest, as did Tendo. But that's the price you pay for being a hero.
Back on Isla de Mara, Monarch sealed off the volcano, and set back up their outpost. The people and government began to rebuild their city. And Rodan lay, still awake, in the belly of the volcano, anger brewed in him, he had been filled with rage and needed to seek revenge. But he also needed time to get stronger, and he was willing to wait.
