Marinette's POV

"Great, it's raining." I think to myself. I had forgotten my umbrella and although the walk to my house from the school wasn't a terribly long one, it was long enough that I'd be soaked when I got home.

"Hey." I hear a familiar voice. Adrien… I huff and look away. I hear a slight sigh and then the opening of his umbrella.

"I just wanted you to know that I was only trying to take the chewing gum off your seat. I swear." He says.

I look into his green eyes and his facial expression makes it seem like he's being genuine. He continues, "I've never been to school before. I've never had friends. It's all sorta," he pauses, "new to me." He gives my a small smile.

"Should I believe him." I ponder. "He seems to be being sincere."

Adrien then turns around and moves the umbrella forward to shield me from the rain. He gives me a smile, that even I must admit, was a beautiful one. Despite my negative feelings towards him even I could admit… he was a very handsome.I reach out to grab the umbrella but pause. "Wait… this is probably all part of his plan. Chloe is probably in on it too, gain my trust and then humiliate me. He almost had me there with that damn smile but I am not falling for it." I pull away.

"No." Adrien's smile fades. "You almost had me fooled there but I won't fall for you tricks."

"Tricks?" He tilts his head confusingly.

"Yes! You're all buddy buddy with Chloe who has been tormenting me since kindergarten, no way I'm going to be your friend. You may be able to fool everyone else but not me!"

"But Marinette-" He starts to say.

"Just leave me alone!" I shout. I clutch my backpack tighter and begin running home. Surprise surprise, by the time I get home, I'm soaked. I walk through the door, my parents look at me surprised.

"Marinette did the you forget your umbrella?" Dad asks.

"Yeah…" I reply

"Well you should go upstairs and change or else you'll catch a cold." Mom adds.

Okay…" I say as a head upstairs. I change into some dryer comfy clothes and flop onto my bed.

"Marinette… don't you think you might have overreacted? What if Adrien was being sincere?" Tikki flies near my face to ask.

"I just can't trust him Tikki. I have to be on my toes. I mustn't be swayed by his good looks." I grumble.

Tikki rolls her eyes and sighs. "Whatever you say." She gives a small chuckle.

"Starting the new school year and I already have to watch out for super villains and a pretty boy." I groan. "Well at least I have a new best friend and an amazing Kwami to get me through the year." I smile before drifting off to sleep.
