Came up with this a little while back and finally put it out. Hoped you enjoyed this little one-shot.
Ozpin's coffee dilemma:
'Remnant. A land that while swallowed by darkness. Still shows that even the brightest of light can shine in the overwhelming darkness' Ozpin monologues. Looking out the window from his tower and sipping his coffee.
"Ah, honey sands definitely hit the spot" Ozpin sighed in bliss. They made the brand honey sands in Vacuo. It was his favorite. 'While it may not be a kind place, their coffee blends are to die for' while mentally going over his duties for today.
*Beep beep beep*
Turning back to his desk, he gently placed the mug to the side before grabbing his scroll. Looking at the id and seeing none other than Glynda's name.
"Hmm. I wonder if the students have caused another dust explosion. Maybe port brought another Grimm onto campus," Oz mumbled before hitting accept call.
"Glynda you look exquisite today, what seems to be the issue?" he asked in faux concern.
"Ozpin, I've received some reports that you should know," she said while mentally eye-rolling. "A horde of Grimm have attacked near Vacou. It seems they have hit the settlement of Green Hills" she finished.
At this news, Ozpin froze with his skin pale and his breath light. Green Hills was the place of a manufacturer for his favorite brand.
"That is most distressing. Do they require extra help in quelling the Grimm?" he inquired.
"No, they stopped the Grimm from doing too much damage to the settlement. Though in the reports the Green hills coffee factory was burnt to the ground," she added, unaware of his inner turmoil.
"I see. Thank you Glynda is that all? He asked knuckles, gripping his cane.
"No headmaster that is all" she replied with him nodding and ending the call.
Quickly walking to the other side of his office. Ozpin checked his cabinets to see how much of the honey sand he had left. To his dismay, he was out.
"No, this is fine. I'm sure they will repair the factory before too long," he mumbled with a smile.
He didn't need to worry things would return to normal...right?
5 days later:
Five long unholy days had passed since the destruction of the green hills coffee factory. Each day felt like an eternity without his sweet ambrosia to calm his nerves. This week has been the worst so far.
Starting off was the council. They were pushing a new bill that would further incite the fanus population. The bill proposed more exploitation of fanus workers. He'd sat there and fought them for hours to make them see how idiotic this idea was. Thankfully, after three hours they agreed to toss it and move on from the subject.
The second was Glynda nagging him about ignoring paperwork. A faux immortal could only handle so much paperwork before snapping. How Good witch seemed to enjoy this accursed paperwork he would never know.
The third was Ironwood and his insistent need to bring the full might of Atlas everywhere. Why he thought to bring twenty-five battleships to the opening of a new junior hunter academy. Especially in Mistral, a place that hates any outside interference.
Last, and most annoyingly, were Green hills. It seems they had the idea to switch from coffee to herbal teas. He couldn't stand the mud leaf water. Not that he'd say it in front of Glynda. That was a good way to be tossed out a window.
He was losing his nerve. Never had he been so long without his godly drink. Once again he found himself interrupted by the beeping of his scroll. Looking at the Id, he saw one dusty crow.
"Qrow, you have something to report?" he asked with a raised brow. They sent Qrow out towards the Grimm lands a lot. As it was a place that bandits and other unsavory people flocked.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do" he replied sipping from his flask. "I looked into the attack on Green hills. Seems one of the queen's servants was spotted in the area." He said before sending an image to his scroll.
Clicking on it, he saw Tyrian, one of Salem's most trusted and dangerous followers. Seeing this brought a twitch to his eye and anger in his blood.
"Is that so? Thank you Qrow was there anything else?" he asked to receive a no. Shutting off his scroll, he closed his eyes and counted to ten.
'It's fine. It's fine. Be at peace.' He chanted repeatedly.
A ding sound was heard, and the opening of the elevator signaled Glynda Goodwitch's arrival.
"Ozpin, I've received the report from the council. They've accepted James' offer for Atlesian's help. He's bringing the fleet here" she said unaware of the headmasters growing anger.
"Surely our help would be easier," he said to which she shook her head.
"Apparently that they don't require our help and that we should focus on our academics," Glynda replied.
Ozpin trembled with anger. The bastards were getting back at him for the bill, no doubt. "Thank you Glynda you may go." He said with a fake smile and waited for her to leave before slamming his cane on his desk.
He soon heard a beep from his other scroll. Looking over it was a message from Salem. 'No doubt she would tell me to surrender. Before babbling on about evil and darkness.' Oz let out a long sigh. By the brothers did he need a drink.
Opening the scroll, he noticed it wasn't a video call. Only a picture with a few words under it. Clicking it, he saw none other than his favorite brand of tea being burned. Salem standing in the background with a smirk. The text reading a shame Green hills no longer makes Coffee must be the work of a god.
The scroll was crushed in his hand. She's gone too far this time, attack me, but how dare she attack coffee!
Stomping to the elevator, he was going to end this once and for all.
Location: Land of darkness, Evernight castle.
Salem had outdone herself this time. No doubt Ozma was curled up into a ball somewhere, crying his heart out. His obsession with the drink being one of his weaknesses.
'I'll never understand how he can stand that heart-attack-inducing sludge. Tea is so much better in taste.' she thought, sipping her new Green Hills tea.
She soon heard an enormous boom from outside the castle. Tyrian eventually came running into the throne room. Lipping and with a great deal of fear.
"My goddess, you must flee. The wizard has gone insane, he is no longer a man. He is a demon." Tyran shouted as he bowed before her.
'Wizard then that means-' her thoughts interrupted when the doors to her throne room exploded. There standing in the ruined hallway was Ozpin. In his possession were the four relics.
"Foul demon, how dare you. I shall smite you from this plane once and for all," he sneered, raising the sword of destruction.
In all of this one thought popped into Salem's mind 'Maybe I went far' before a blast from the sword rocked the castle.
