He screams in rage, sparks flying behind him. She was the reason he was here. She was the reason he wanted to become a hero. To save her. Everything he ever did, it was for her.
And he couldn't save her this time.
(Come meet your baby sister Nya!)
Since that moment, everything he ever did was to make sure she would be okay.
He looks out over the ocean. He falls to his knees, still screaming. The sun was causing the sand to blaze, but nothing was hot enough to burn his fiery rage.
Eventually those screams turn into cries.
"Nya..." he repeats, over and over until it even sounds strange to say her name.
This was her destiny to choose. He knew this. He knew she did this to save her family.
But she was the only family he really ever had.
(Father always said the world works in mysterious ways)
Still, he refuses to believe the world could ever let this happen.
He cries again.
"Maybe someday we can defy destiny. I just...I need you. You can't be gone forever!"
He inches closer to the water. There is now a slight breeze.
"I would do anything to get you back, Nya."
The tide is now getting higher. He finds himself touching a bit of water.
It was always his greatest fear, and it was something he could never explain. Maybe it was fate trying to warn him.
Yet, he doesn't feel afraid.
He can't be afraid of her, he is supposed to protect her.
"Nya..." he repeats, at the ocean, to her.
"Nya, wherever you are, whatever you become, I will always be here to protect you."
He swears he hears a voice, a voice that does not need protecting anymore, it the voice's job to be the protector now.
He is a day closer to accepting this. Every day, he will get closer.
And someday, she will be able to put out the burning flames of his rage, all to protect him.

"Kai!" his brother has caught up to him.
He feels guilty that he opposed their love for so long.
"Kai, this isn't what she would have wanted for you."
"How do you know?" he snaps, leaving the ocean's gaze. "You've only known her for a few years, not her whole life!"
Jay steps back. He is not mad at Kai. Nobody is thinking clearly right now.
Kai stands there, silently. He begins to cry again.
"She loved you so much, Kai." Jay says.
"When we were planning our..." Jay stops. He looks down.
"When we talked about what a wedding would be like, she wanted you to give her away. She wanted you to sing. She wanted you to be by her side on what..." Jay stops again.
"On what would have been one of the been days of our life"
Kai hears his voice break.
"It is true that I didn't know her the same as you did. But I love her, as you do."
"And maybe..."
Kai notices Jay is still wearing his yin-yang pin.
"And maybe it's best that we...we don't turn on each other. we don't split up. it will never be the same without her, but we can't lose you too...after Zane, we were all miserable. None of us knew how to cope."
Kai remembers Nya crying to him, during that time, about how much she missed the team.
"It's what she would have wanted." Kai repeats.
Jay walks towards the shore, next to him.
"Water conducts lightning, you know. Sometimes I like to think that she guides me that way."
They stand by the ocean together until sunset.
