They chase her down alleys and over buildings, she couldn't shake their shouts "Thief!" She's fast but she wasn't as quiet as her old teammate Why did Blake have to get sick!

Her knees ached, she banged on the corner she turned to tight, adrenaline spurred her onward.

"Terrorist!"

Well that's super harsh! Ruby thought. The mission was to take back a stolen item, which she did. Unfortunately she was heard in the shadows. Footsteps louder now in front of her, They must have cut me off! She was close to civilians and if she ran into the crowd the criminals might shoot at them too. She reached for her scythe, she was going to have to fight her way out.

A hand snatches her into an alley. Half lit and broken lightbulbs. The footsteps getting louder.

She recognized him.

Even without the neck scarf, the bowler hat, hard makeup. Five years later she knew those Emerald eyes and obnoxious smirk anywhere.

"Well Well Little Red." He was unbuttoning his trademark white suit jacket. Tossed it over her shoulders.

"What are you-"

He picked up by the hips and pushed her against the wall. "Wrap your legs around me and I'll try not to vomit in your mouth." Roman's brows furrowed as he looked at her lips, debating if he'd rather die.

"He went that way!" The shouts were terrifyingly close.

She huffed, her thighs tight around his waist. Fingers in messing his perfect orange hair and she pulled him into a kiss. It was gentle and his lips were soft as her own. She still wanted to die. The heavy footsteps stopped in the alley. Roman's heart rate spiked and he pressed harder into her as if to squeeze them further into the darkness. Ruby, feeling heat coil through her, made a little squeak in the back of her throat. Roman's lip's parted to chuckle and she stole that laugh away with her tongue. He moaned softly, they began a subtle dance and clung to each other far longer than they needed to. Finally they broke apart and Ruby was back on her feet.

She looked away, "Um thanks." She patted her pockets, and checked her wallet for Lien, everything was still there.

He smiled amused, he briefly touched his mouth, his eyes ran over her body.

She glared at him, "Don't you think about it."

"You used tongue." he wanted more of that.

"You just pinned me to a wall!" Her cheeks flushed because she didn't want him to back away.

"If you don't want to stop, I could do it again." He leaned over her tracing a finger down her cheek. Those silver eyes really were lovely.

She gasped

He looked unimpressed, "Red, I literally just did, is it really that shocking?"

"I'll tell Neo." She crossed her arms.

He laughed at her petulance. "You couldn't even if you wanted to."

"Please where do you think she goes on Sundays."

"She always brings me back ice cream."

"We get ice cream and cookies together."

"You two are friends?"

"It took a few stabbings, but yeah besties. She's even planning my 21st birthday."

He pressed his palm to his forehead and pulled out his cigar from his coat she was still wearing.

She bit her lip and snatched the cigar away from him. He raised his brow.

Embarrassed, "My house isn't far and I don't want my bed to smell like smoke." She hugged his coat tighter about her.
He could only stare at her.

She batted her lashes at him, "Torchwick, I hear a criminal hangs out here. Why don't you stick with a huntress tonight?"

"Well if you want to protect me, maybe you should have this back." He handed her the folded Crescent Rose.

She glared at him, "I'm taking you to a hotel."

He chuckled, "Probably for the best, so I can have my cigar then?"

"No."

From a nearby rooftop Blake and Neo high fived.
