A perfectly manicured finger tapped anxiously on the mahogany desk. It created a simple, but slightly irritating rhythm in the silent room. The owner of the finger decided that they were tired of the tapping, so they twirled around in their desk chair to look out the large window in their office.

From the window, the person had an impressive view of Toronto. She glanced around at all of the tall buildings in view. Each one holding their own plethora of stressed workers. But those workers at least didn't have their jobs currently at risk.

They chuckled to themself; not out of humor, but out of bitterness. "You really outdid yourself Miranda. You finally get a promotion, thinking it'll change your life for the better, but it only makes it a million times more stressful."

Mirana rubbed her temples. She was stressed and she could feel a headache coming on. She needed an aspirin.

All of a sudden, there was a knock on her office door. Speaking of headaches…

"Come in." Miranda called out, spinning herself back around to view her guest.

The door swung open, revealing a middle-aged man with spiffy black hair, a 5 o'clock shadow, and a smirk that spelled nothing but trouble.

"Hello McLean." Miranda greeted, exasperated. She was definitely not too keen on her visitor.

"Sup Randy!" Chris greeted. The host took a seat in a chair on the opposite side of Miranda's desk from her, and made himself comfortable. "Heard ya needed to see me."

Oh was that headache coming quickly. Miranda sat up straighter and pulled her blazer down slightly. She took a deep breath before responding. "Yes, I did. I'll get straight to the point."

Miranda stood up and looked out of the window again while putting her arms behind her back. "So, you may or may not have heard, but the network has been experiencing a lot of financial issues. We haven't been able to capture audiences the past couple years, and if this trajectory continues we will go bankrupt pretty soon."

"Well that's too bad." Chris said, though his words were less sincere, and more to mock Miranda. "But I'm not sure what this has to do with me." He gave a shit-eating grin. "I mean last time I was here, I was told by you specifically that the network wants nothing to do with me anymore."

A scowl formed on Miranda's face. She turned back to Chris and sent a small glare. "I am aware." She sat back down in her chair and slumped down. Chris saw how exhausted she looked. He almost felt a shred of sympathy. But he quickly squashed it. Seeing others in misery gave him nothing but joy!

"Truth is, as much as I hate to admit it, Total Drama was the biggest ratings giant this company had." Miranda told him. "Despite the multiple lawsuits that had to be settled, Total Drama brought the network a shit ton of money."

"That is until the network canceled it." Chris said, crossing his arms.

"I'm aware." Miranda hated this. Hated having to grovel to Chris McLean of all people, but she needed to do it. Too much was at stake not to. "But... we were wanting to ask you if you would be interested in renewing the show for another season."

Silence filled the room for a couple moments. Miranda gulped. While she knew Chris adored his show, she also knew he wasn't too happy with how things had been left off between him and the network. And especially with her.

It felt like forever before she got a response out of the host. And, well, it wasn't what she was expecting.

Chris burst out into laughter. He laughed and laughed, holding his stomach.

Miranda felt a mix of sadness and anger. She felt humiliated having Chris sit here and laugh in her face.

A couple more moments passed of Chris's laughter before he settled down. Wiping a tear from his eye Chris sat up a little bit and smirked at Miranda. "Y'know I have to point out how funny it is that the network was so quick to drop me, but now you guys are coming crawling back to me."

Miranda was starting to have enough of this. This was the most humiliated she has ever felt in her life. "Look, do you have an answer?" She snapped.

"Whoa brah, might want to cool that attitude down a bit." Chris told her. "I mean the entire network is resting on what I choose to do."

A sigh escaped from Miranda's lips. "Would showing you the budget we would give you help with your decision?"

The host was slightly caught off guard by this. "The budget?" Admittedly he was curious now that she brought it up. "What would be the deal on that?"

Pushing back from her desk slightly, Miranda opened a drawer to her right and pulled out a manila folder. She laid it on the desk and pushed it towards Chris. "This is the budget we're willing to give you for this season if you're willing to do it."

Chris raised an eyebrow and took the folder. He opened it and glanced at the number. All of a sudden, his eyes bugged out. "What!? That much!?"

"Yes." Miranda responded. "As I said, the network is desperate. You're our last hope Chris."

Chris took one last look at the budget before looking back to Miranda. "You got a deal."

Guess who can't stay away from SYOCs? This bitch! Lmao, but yeah I've been getting an itch to do another SYOC, especially after the great ones I'm currently in and ones that are hopefully gonna start. So yeah, Now I'm gonna give a disclaimer. As some of y'all know I'm a messy bitch when it comes to updating. So, please do be patient with me. But this time I'm going to really try and make a goal for myself. I'm going to try and post at least one chapter every month. I don't wanna be like Total Syoc island where there were sometimes a year between updates. But, please try and be patient with me. I may take a while to update, but I'm a stubborn ho and I will finish this SYOC.

But yeah, so far my SYOCs have been pretty vanilla with just being set on an Island, so I wanted to try something new and something that's hopefully original! I've got some ideas on how this'll work out so I'm pretty excited! Now of course there's gotta be some rules. I love messy queens, but some structure is needed when submitting.

-You can submit as many OCs as you'd like, but I'll only accept 2 at max per person. My current plan is to have 14 contestants, but I'm flexible and I could maybe add some more slots if I get a lot of good OCs.

-It's gotta be Quality over quantity henny. Really try and think about and put detail into your OC. Though, I will say the biggest point for me is how well the OC can blend with the cast. The only SYOC I didn't complete had amazing OCs imo, but the synergy between them wasn't the strongest and it was hard to write them.

-OCs will only be accepted through private messaging. Sorry guests, but it's a lot easier to keep track of the OCs that way. Not to mention I don't want to spike the reviews with just submissions. Also, please title the pm "TDTF App." Makes it easier for me to keep track.

-You must use the application provided. You're allowed to add things if you'd like, but all the info on my app is what I personally need in order to write your OC. The app will be at the bottom of my profile so you'll be able to easily copy and paste it.

-Please don't submit anyone from Total SYOC Island. As much as I loved all those OCs, I think it's too soon for me to rewrite any of them.

-Have fun with it! That's what SYOCs are for anyway. There's no need to get upset over your OC not getting accepted or them getting eliminated. Some people need to be early outs, and that's okay.

But yeah! That's it. I'm gonna take a bit to actually choose the OCs as I really want to get the best cast that I can use. I'm excited to be writing a SYOC again, and I'm super excited to see what types of OCs I'll get! Until next time, I'll be sitting alone in the VIP. ~MG
