Sunday brunch at The Burrow was a weekly event that people made sure to turn up to. Molly Weasley always made a spread of everything. It was the place where you never left feeling hungry or lacking laughter.
It was a normal Sunday but when the regal owl flew through the window. Everyone knew something was wrong.
''Whose the letter for mum'' Ginny asked staring worriedly at her mother.
Molly untied the the envelope and everyone watched as the owl took off not expecting a reply.
'' Harry dear, it's for you'' she passed the letter to him and watched the confusion in his eyes as he stared at the penmanship on the envelope.
He turned the letter over and in the bottom right corner, a small inscription read C.B solicitors. He pulled the letter out expecting it was sent to the wrong person. That confusion was immediately dissipated when he read the contents of the letter. It read,
Mr Potter,
I was asked to deliver this letter to you by a client of mine at the time of their death. So inside of the envelope is a letter to you from a friend.
I just want to say I'm so very sorry for your loss and if you want to go through their possessions just owl me back at my work address.
Many thanks,
Curtis Backbore
C.B solicitors
He glanced up at everyone staring at him. After reading the letter aloud, he still couldn't think of anyone who died.
'' I'm not sure, who… I just don't know'' he exclaimed pushing his unruly hair away from his forehead.
''why don't you open the other letter, that should give you some answers'' Mr Weasley advised.
Harry nodded and opened the second letter.
''Dear Mr Harry James Potter''
