*TWO SHOT*

Daichi Sawamura was a mature boy, he had always been alone, his parents busy with their jobs, but they both sent massive cheques his way and paid all bills that he had while living on his own. He had no siblings and was quite lonely. He would have bought a dog, but he was not home long enough to take care of one. Unless he could get one already trained, but that was wishful thinking.

When Daichi was ten, he realized his mother was not his mother, he was son of a mortal man and a goddess. The goddess was named Minerva and she was the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. He had only learned of it because of a trip to America, and he had been attacked by monsters. Not knowing what was happening a few demigods had helped him. He had killed many monsters with the Romans at Camp Jupiter.

Though Himura Sawamura wasn't his birth mother she had been very kind and treated him as a son, knowing that gods were tricky beings and that her husband hadn't meant to stray. The two of them were over sea's managing only to come home, well to his home for the winter holidays.

So, after he had learned he was a demigod, he trained for two years over summer at Camp Jupiter, learning about Ancient Rome, and a bit of the Greeks, though it was considered bad luck to ever run into a Graecus.

Now that Daichi was starting the second year of middle school, he denied the camp invite and decided to focus on Volleyball, a sport where he could let loose the ADHD he had tightly controlled over the years. He was lucky he never received dyslexia, as most first-generation demigods were known to receive. With all his practicing Daichi managed to become the Captain of his team for two years.

Line Break

It was a break before Daichi would start High school, he was at the beach, not many people were there on this gloomy day, but Daichi for some reason had an urge to go, and like any good demigod he learned to trust his instincts because they rarely led him wrong.

He was glad he had gone because there he saw a teen with black hair, and a sword in hand fighting monsters. At first Daichi hadn't wanted to believe it, because the sword wasn't Imperial Gold, of Rome. But a strange bronze colour, leaf shaped and if he squinted right, he saw Greek letters running down the blade.

The boy was fighting at least thirty monsters, waving his sword expertly around, and waving his hand, and the water did his bidding.

The water part kind of freaked him out, because when he had spent his time at Camp Jupiter, none of the kids had been water deity children. They were considered bad luck.

Using reflexes, he wasn't able to show off due to its abnormality, Daichi took the necklace he always wore off and watched as his trust golden sword named: Starshatter. With the element of surprise, he helped his fellow demigod to kill the monsters, he had a few scratches on himself and he frowned. Hopefully that didn't scar.

"Thanks," the foreign boy said in English, he held out a small piece of Ambrosia that Daichi thankfully ate and both of them watched as wounds healed and only the tears on their clothes remained. "Know anywhere good to eat?" the boy asked switching to perfect Japanese that made Daichi pause.

"I do," he said calmly.

"My name is Percy Jackson, what's yours?" the green eyes stared deeply into his.

"Daichi Sawamura, son of Minerva, who's your godly parent?"

A small smirk graced that tanned face.

"From Camp Jupiter I guess?" with a small nod Percy pulled out a cap lid and put it on the tip of his sword and it shrunk into a ball point pen. "Well, my father is Poseidon, Neptune if you want the Latin name, now let's eat. Killing monsters makes me hungry,"

Daichi decided to ignore the weird feeling of being with an actual Greek demigod, apparently, they weren't supposed to be alive. So, deciding to befriend one wouldn't be too bad.

Leading the Greek to his favourite café, Sunshine Café, he ordered his usual late with an American style ham and cheddar sandwich. Percy also ordered the sandwich, but two footlongs and a cold mocha late.

Both said thanks to their respective gods and began to eat. Despite being a male and into a lot of sports Daichi was always surprised when people said that a lot of boys had a pitiless stomach. The boy scarfed down both sandwiches in no time, finished the drink and just asked for water for the rest of the time they spent their.

-LINE BREAK-

Percy whistled for his Pegasus, the famous Blackjack and watched as he saw Daichi smile and pet his friends head right between the eyes.

Tell him to scratch behind my ears. Blackjack hummed and crunched on the sugar cubes Percy had taken from the café. The grey eyed white-haired cashier had just starred at him as he packed a handful of cubes into a little brown bag.

Percy relayed what his friend said and Daichi smirked before doing what he said and 'Jack made a humming noise but sounded like a snort to non-Speakers.

"I'll take you to yours, ill rests with Blackjack in the fields, then I'm finding an apartment."

"Nonsense, you can stay at my place, my parents are never home, and I wouldn't mind the company, plus you're a fellow demigod." Daichi argued hands on his hips and stared down his companion who smiled.

"Know any good local high schools?" Percy asked once Daichi gave direction to his place and Percy said Blackjack was glad it was a farm. So, he could show off to the regular horses that he had wings and that he was the Princes personal ride.

"I'm going to be a first year at Karasuno High School, its about 5 miles or so, not to far of a walk, and I'm going to join the volleyball team." Daichi said and unlocked his house door.

"My parents are over seas, so I live alone, they pay for all my bills, I get an allowance and I'm okay, a bit lonely…." Daichi paused then looked at the green-eyed teen. "I know we just met, but you stay at my place and you don't need to pay rent," Daichi said and watched as those sea green eyes went wide.

"Really? You would take a stranger in?" he asked.

"Its polite and in a way, we are family," Daichi argued.

"okay,"

Line Break

Percy and Daichi learned about each other, Percy was older, his birthday was on August 18th, and Daichi's was on December 31st. they both were going into high school. Daichi also learned that when Percy had been 12, he'd been kidnapped and dragged all around the globe. His mother had gone to Hades in the Underworld, and he went to save her. Found out his mentor was a crazy person trying to raise a new Titan era. He had gone on many quests to save the world, ended a Titan war with the help of Greek gods, and not to long after that had amnesia, and saved the world once again by killing the giants and Gaea who tried to destroy herself. Daichi also learned that the gods had flashed him to Japan and told him that he would start his new life in Japan.

With the help of the mist, and a neat trick he hadn't told anyone about, he and travelled Japan trying to find the right place. He had happened to run into a hoard of monsters. Percy had been taking a break when he had been ambushed, Monsters attacking from all directions. It was only due to fast reflexes and hard training that had saved him, that was when Daichi had come and helped the demigod kill the monsters. And here they were.

He had also taken the demigod with him to his school's orientation day for the first years, there they had bumped into a silver haired boy who had dropped his papers. Daichi knelt to pick the papers up while Percy apologized. Daichi saw that the boys name was Sugawara Koushi, he was a first year and was going to join the Volleyball club.

"You play Volleyball too?" Daichi asked and handed over the papers with both hands on the edges.

"Thank you!" Sugawara-kun said and bowed as well. "Yes, I play setter, but I will take any position available," Sugawara-kun said.

"I play setter too," Percy said. "I'm Percy, I'm the transfer student."

"Ah, so cool!" Sugawara said. "I'm Sugawara Koushi," he bowed. "Call me Suga or Koushi."

"I'm Daichi Sawarma," he bowed.

Laughing Sugawara-kun said to just call him Suga, since it was already confusing, his and the silver haired boys name sounded familiar. So, in return they agreed to call Sugawara-kun, Suga, and him Daichi. It was easier. Percy also said they could call him Jackson or Percy, but not Perseus since he hated that. Percy had also said he had asked his mom why she had named him that, but he had said she only smiled and shook her head.

Now that their names were set, they went into the gym to hand in their application letters for the Karasuno Volleyball club. Percy also wandered off to join another club. Curious Daichi asked what club. "Swim Club," Percy replied and Daichi understood. Being a son of Poseidon, he was naturally drawn to water, and had ever since he could remember always been on the swim club.

Later that week they met Asahi Azumane, he had his flight delayed and had been in Canada when the new term had started and had taken a couple of days to get his sleep routine back from the different time zones. They had all been slightly scared, since he had frightening look on his face and had chin length hair. A few weeks after they got to know Asahi it became apparent; he was a wimpy strong looking guy. He was tall for his age and already had hints of a beard growing, and people mistook him for an adult, bully, or a Yakuza and it saddened him. He just wanted to be normal teenage boy.

Once the four first years got to know the teen, they became friends, and on a whim just to show they could be wild, the first years got tattoos. The tattoo was simple, a small black crow and for some reason Percy said that they should add 'Fly' underneath it. All of them, even Percy had been puzzled on why he had wanted/said that. But not in disagreement, all four of them got tattoos that cost 75 dollars each.

Over the days Daichi got to see that Karasuno had really fallen hard, no schools wanted to play them, even though they were good, though they had no coach. Their captain was their coach.

Fallen crows indeed.

Then and their Daichi decided he would be a captain, that he would bring them to The Nationals before he graduated. That night as Percy cooked an American meal, Daichi stormed up a planning regime. If the current third and second years had already given up on the sport, he loved…. He would bring it up.

When official Volleyball practice was over the next day Daichi declared he wanted to do extra practice, the others had all been surprised, but his fellow first years all agreed that they wanted to stay for personal practice.

The Captain had nodded and handed over the keys, he told them to not over work themselves.

For the rest of their first year Daichi and his trio of friends would play two on two matches. Sometimes he got his childhood best friend and a few of his volleyball friends to play together at the local gym with the other gym members.

Daichi could see growth in his friends Asahi was now learning how to jump serve, one of the local former Karasuno Volleyball players was teaching it too him. Suga learned to toss better by Percy, who had spent years playing beach volleyball. And was good at all positions. And him, his receives were getting better, he also decided to learn a bit of all the positions because he wanted to be Captain later, he would need to know all positions encase he was needed.

A café opened near them a few month ago and the Volleyball Squad, as Percy said they were made it to the café every Friday to get their drinks.

Mocha Latte for Percy

Iced Coffee for Suga

Apple Juice for Asahi

And a Black Americano with an extra shot of expresso.

All of them had grimaced at his drink, but he didn't care, when in Italy he had learned to love coffee.

Line Break

When it was the current third years that graduated, winter was finished and Spring had come, and the new year started. Daichi, Suga, Asahi and Percy were now second years. Over the summer Percy had gone to Atlantis and Daichi tended to his farm. They both kept up a nice training schedule to keep fit for sports, though Percy had joined a local Miyagi Swim club, so he also tended to be at the pool a lot. He had races in the summer and was now at the Summer National Swimming in Tokyo.

Now that Daichi was Captain, he decided to take on the role like the previous captain, to be both coach and Captain. They did get this adviser person, but he didn't give a crap about volleyball, he just came to make sure they were all their then left.

He made them do drills, before the first years would get to them.

There was five of them, Enoshita, Narita, Kinoshita, Tanaka, and Nishinoya.

Daichi smiled, this was looking good, the current third years followed his lead, and he knew they could make it to nationals soon. There was something missing though.

With his team he worked them hard, but not to hard that they would hurt the next day, his planner filled with notes, and when he finally managed a few schools to do practice matches he was excited. Contained it to remain the calm, sturdy captain everyone needed.

Shimizu had managed to get the old Karasuno jerseys clean and fitted for the current boys to wear, so they didn't have to wear their Physical Educational Outfit. White shirt black shorts.

Now they had a jersey with a number on it. Daichi was number 1, the three third years number 2,3 and 12

Suga got 5,

Asahi got 6,

Percy got 7,

Tanaka got 8,

Ennoshita got 9,

Narita got 10,

Kinoshita got 11,

Nishinoya got 4,

Close to summer former Coach Ukai came back to coach, he had been ill and hadn't made it to the first semester of Daichi's second year of high school.

Coach Ukai worked them to their limit, until they had all puked. Making them run laps until they fell, making them serve and receive 100 times. A lot more different then Daichi's plans. It was bad, it made Enoshita, Kinoshita and Narita quit the team. Percy had been close to handing his own resignation to the team, due to the Swim Club. He had became the Captain despite being a first year last year, and a second year now. He had experience way further then any of them. Being a son of Poseidon and all had its benefits to this sport.

Percy and his team where currently away at Nationals Swimming Winter Competition that was always held in winter seasons, and for the summer it was National Summer Competition. He was busy with training and it conflicted with his volleyball ones sometimes.

Once Summer Swimming season was done for now, (outdoor pools/oceans) they had a break until winter came. Percy wasn't only in two clubs, but his personal one outside of school, the public Swim club. His practice and volleyball practice conflicted. Because of that Percy wasn't a regular on the team, but Percy was okay with that. As much as he liked playing Volleyball, he didn't really love it as much as he loved to swim.

But once summer season was over, Percy came to more practices and had even been on the match against Date tech. they had lost.

Asahi, their trusty Ace had lost so many spikes, to their Iron Wall. Crumbling his self esteem as as an ace. He had handed his resignation letter to Daichi and had ignored any attempt to talk to any of them. Nishinoya and Asahi had become great friends and Nishinoya had quit after Asahi had. Declaring it was his fault for not being able to pick up any of the blocked balls.

Daichi felt his heart break, his family and team were falling apart. It got slightly better when Kinoshita, Narita, and Ennoshita had returned, but they had lost their coach, and now he needed to plan. Winter was coming and Percy wouldn't be able to focus just on Volleyball anymore, due to the Winter Nationals coming up.

"We can do this," Daichi said and clenched his fist to his heart. "We will go to Nationals."

The next Inter High would be the spring one, and they would go. Suga as Vice Captain was equally determined, even as the former and now third years had cried, making them promise to make it to Nationals, and that they would fight with all they got. All of them promised and Percy was relived when he could finally focus on Volleyball. He loved swimming but he had, had his moment that would make him fall deeper and deeper in love with volleyball. It had been when he had managed to save a ball against Date tech. it hadn't been the winning point, but it had made him realize why he had played Beach Volleyball to begin with. Then had tried out for indoor volleyball when he had moved to Japan a year ago.

All of them and Shimizu had stood in front of the Karasuno gates. Daichi was excited to enter his last year of high school. He was excited and scared; this was his last year to bring them to nationals and he was prepared to give it his all. He had managed to convince the principle that they needed a Mentor with them all the time, as a coach and Daichi was surprised when the principle managed to do that. Hiring a teacher, Takeda- Sensi was a kind gentleman, he talked to each of them quietly and listened to what they would need. And now the first years would come, it was now time for the newbies start. For a week it would just be the second and third years, the new firsties would have orientation and then in three school days and two weekend days they would start school. On Monday.

They got two applicants this year, Kageyama Tobio and Hinata Shouyo.

Kageyama was a familiar name, that he recognized from that MiddleHigh he had gone to watch, while scouting for maybe teammates, and enemies, to see what he would have to fight. Kageyama had been crowned 'King of the Court' and was a demanding setter, he seemed scary, but Daichi wondered if it was only on the Court, and he also wondered if Kageyama was like Asahi and was a wimp when off the court.

Percy had also looked sad and had known something that Daichi didn't, but he never questioned what it was. The first day went bad, Shoyo and Kageyama had managed to knock over the vice principles toupee off and Daichi would've gotten upset even more if it wasn't for Percy.

Percy was mature in some parts, or he could be as chaotic as the second years. Suga was also a child at heart and did chaotic things, making Daichi trust Enoshita to be the Captain or the one in charge.

Percy pulled Hinata away and gave him a talking too, making the orange head duck in shame and him apologizing deeply with tears running down his face. The vice principle shuffled then knelt and spoke to the boy softly before helping a hiccupping Hinata up.

Percy also pushed Kageyama who bowed stoically and apologized.

Next day had the team practicing their spikes, and against wooden boards as blocks. That the person after hitting 5 spikes becomes the blocker, who hold the boards up, and the spiker tries to spike against the board. After hitting 5 sets they would become the blocker until they all rotated around. Once it was time for after school practice did the doors slide open wider and two people entered. One tall with glasses and blonde hair, he had headphones around his neck and the other was a black haired green streaked haired boy with freckles and light brown eyes stood.

"Sorry for interrupting practice," the freckled boy said bowing and the taller bowed his head. "We are here to hand in our sign up for a club activity form! Our flight had been delayed so we were late to get here and missed our first day."

Percy walked over and took the forms, handing it to Daichi with a smile.

"Come at 7am, we are having a 3x3 on Saturday with the other first years, to see what we need to work on." Daichi said and gave, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima a look. Both were tall.

Things were beginning to look good and that feeling Daichi had of somethings being off were slightly less. There was one more missing piece and Daichi knew it would fill up soon.

Percy, Suga and Daichi were sitting outside on a hay bale when Daichi leaned back, lifting his face to the setting sun.

"This year we are going to Nationals." He spoke.

"This year we are going to Nationals with a big boom," Suga agreed, and Percy hummed.

"Takeda ran into me earlier," Percy said and smiled. "We have a practice match with Sejoh next Tuesday."
