Hi everyone! This something super exciting that I'm trying as I normally don't delve into this type of genre, which would be horror. It won't be labeled as such but as suspense. So hopefully you all like it and constructive criticism is always welcome. I love getting feedback and learning. I don't own Power Rangers, only the OC's in the chapter so far. So without further ado, the Prologue.
Ollie is portrayed by Danny Jones
Ale is portrayed by Baron (TVP)
The world is much more vast than we realize. From the magnificent Roc in the sky to the mighty Kraken in the seas. Stories tell of human encounters with these creatures as well as creatures of the night and darkness. There are even some detailing encounters with creatures of the light. But there are stories untold or more like stories refused to be told. Stories so horrendous that merely thinking them is a crime. Wanting to forget the times when terror ran rampant but should these stories be forgotten? Or should they be told so history doesn't repeat itself? Well let me tell you the main story now, of a time when terror came both day and night. The air would wail carrying the remnants of what once was liveliness but now was nothing. Murk consumed the known world; human and supernatural alike were plagued by this illness. Some went mad while others went violent. While others… well they saw no point in life. Centuries passed and slowly the stories lessened as the darkness faded, none knowing why but grateful nonetheless. No one knew but one and he carried the secret with him until recently…
"I don't know why you needed me out here, Chief?" a voice groaned before huffing to a stop next to a tall fair skinned man. The man looked over and chuckled as the sunlight illuminated the freckles littering the man's skin.
"You'll be fine, Ale," the man said as he turned to look at a young man with long dreads pulled back in a ponytail on the back of his head. The young man, Ale, narrowed his brown eyes and he huffed again, running a fair skinned hand down his face.
"I don't know about that, Ollie," a voice giggled, "Ale doesn't get out much." Ale looked around as the man, Ollie, pointed to the ear piece in his ear. A growl erupted from Ale as he said,
"And whose fault is that, Vivi?" The voice, Vivi, just laughed before finishing,
"Sol and I found the entrance. And Ale, it was an accident. How was I to know that lycanthrope was mated." Ale growled and mumbled,
"You'd know better then me." Ollie chuckled as he moved ahead but not before a chill ran down his spine which caught Ale's attention and he looked back. The way they had climbed, all the beauty they had passed, was now shrouded in dense fog. Ale trotted the last bit of distance between he and Ollie as he said,
"Stay close to me. Something is very much aware we're here." As Ollie finished his statement he turned to look at Ale and smiled when he saw determination in his eyes. That was something he always admired in the man next to him, even if he was scared he wouldn't let it consume him. All Ale did was hum in response then gestured for Ollie to lead the way, garnering a chuckle from the man. The two skittered over the terrain toward their friends as Vivi came over the comm link.
"You two close? Things are looking… well they're not looking good seeing as we can't see anything." The reply died on Ollie's lips when an inhuman rasp carried through causing Ale to stiffen slightly before looking at Ollie, who had his eyes closed. Now is when it's safe to mention that Ollie may look human but definitely isn't. Ollie was about to speak again when the rasp came faster followed by chittering. Ale looked back quickly scanning then whipped his head back to Ollie, sending his dreads flying about.
"Run!" Ollie grunted before throwing Ale forward a bit and following him. Ale bounded over a rock to be grabbed quickly by Ollie and pulled into him. The man was about to ask when clicking joined the music. Ollie looked everywhere as the area grew murky. Acid churned as the hairs rose and the chittering turned into a symphony. Left, right… forward, backward; murk rolled as gangly hands reached out. Ale backed up a bit or would have if not for Ollie. Blood pumped rapidly as shallow breaths filled the air, short gasp and trembling hands gripped but failed. Blood pumping so loud yelling could not be heard only to meet the ground as searing heat and iridescent light filled the area. The ghostly symphony turned into pain as the blood pumped slower and the breathing evened. Howls cried through the air until they didn't. Air stilled as the moistness of the earth seeped in and the murkiness dissipated, exhales even to nothing.
