The end of the second war should of been the time of his life, but instead all he felt was irritation and exhaustion. The gods didn't take him saying no to godhood near as well this time around. Not only did they force him to accept it, the gods had informed him that he was going to be an Olympian. He had a few years to get accustomed to godhood, and his new life.
He was going to be summoned to Olympus in the morning to get his domains and his "bonus reward" as they called it. His father told him it was something to supposable get in on his good side, and that all the gods had chipped in.
Percy sighed and looked over at his girlfriend. The gods had done the same thing to her as well, they were forcing her to become a god and neither of them were looking forward to it. That was the only thing he was happy about in this whole situation, at least he didn't have to worry about them not being together. Zeus had informed them before they left that Annabeth was going to be his godly wife. Neither one of them had talked about it yet. But he just knew that if he was going to spend an eternity with anyone that he was happy it was going to be her.
Percy and his girlfriend would be staying at their parents temples tonight, and they were just walking around Olympus holding each others hand lost in their own thought until Percy decided to speak up.
"Hey Annabeth" "Hhmm" was the reply he got as his girlfriend continued to stare off at the temples and ruins that had finished being reconstructed since the war with Kronos and Olympus was closed off from the world. "What do you think about all of this?"
Annabeth turned to him and shook her head "Sorry what'd you say?"
I just smiled and shook my head, she does that a lot when she get to thinking about architecture. "I said what do you think of all this?"
Annabeth sighed " I don't know Percy, its a lot to take in. Not only are we becoming gods, but were also suppose to be getting married, your going to be an Olympian and neither one of us got a say in the matter. What I really want to know is how they got my mother to agree to this."
Percy was slightly taken aback by the fact that she wasn't as worried about the whole getting married thing. Sure they loved each other and he wanted to start a life with her. Go to college in New Rome, get a job and propose somewhere in that time span. But they were both 17 still and even though they had been dating for over a year they still only had spent a third of that time actually together during it. Eight months had been him kidnapped, asleep and on a quest to Canada while she was in camp half-blood. Another couple months of it had been on a quest to save everyone from mother earth. He figured that she would want to see were things go before jumping into marriage.
"Really that's what your more worried about?" Percy kind of stuttered out
"Well duh seaweed brain, whatever they did to get my mother to agree to me marrying you forever has to be important. I mean just think about it she HATES you, has said multiple times to stay away from me. And when they announced it at the meeting she didn't say a word, no argument no indignant shouting about not allowing her daughter to marry the sea spawn, nothing. And I want to know why."
Percy just shook his head "Well maybe you can find out tonight, you are staying at her palace so your bound to see her. Its getting late anyways and we have a long day tomorrow why don't I drop you off at your mothers palace and head to my dads and you can try to get some answers from her about it?"
Annabeth's eyes lit up at the idea of getting answers to her question. All of a sudden he was getting dragged in the direction of her mothers palace without another word to say. He knew she was exited at the prospect of getting answers but did she have to drag him their at that very moment. It felt like she was going to tear his arm out of the socket at this rate.
The next morning found Percy waking up to pounding on his dads palace door. Apparently Poseidon had one on Olympus for whenever he had guests and couldn't take them to Atlantis, or in Percy's case had to be up in the council room early in the morning.
Percy begrudgingly got out of bed and threw the palace door open. "Can I help you?" Percy asked with a yawn still trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes only to get pushed back as an irate daughter of Athena pushed past him complaining about stubborn mothers, and lazy boyfriends whatever that was about.
Percy shut the door and walked into the living room or what you would call the equivalent of that in a palace. "What's got you all upset this morning?"
Annabeth turned and glared at him. " My mother wouldn't tell me anything last night, all she said was I would find out today and to not worry about it. Then she told me to get some sleep and not to ask again. I tried to ask her again this morning but she was already gone, then I come to get my boyfriend to go to the council meeting that's in ten minutes only for him to still be asleep and the door locked. So turn around take a 1 minute shower get dressed and get your but out here before were late." She all but screamed at him.
Percy turned around and rushed back to his room not wanting to make his already pissed off girlfriend anymore pissed off at him. Five minutes later they walked out the door. Or more like Annabeth threw Percy out the door telling him to hurry his ass up.
They walked up to the doors of the Olympian council all traces of anger gone from Annabeth only nervousness was seen present on either of their faces. They were holding hands and Annabeth was biting her lip trying to get her emotions under control. They walked through the thrown room doors and noticed all the gods staring at them quietly. That was the weird part they were QUIET. The gods are never quiet, their always arguing, and yelling at each other.
As we came into the middle of the thrown room Annabeth felt a slight squeeze on her hand, she turned her head to look at her boyfriend to see him giving her a small smile. She barley heard him audibly whisper that everything would be okay and their was nothing to worry about. She gave him a small smile in return released his hand and they both bowed to Zeus, then turned and knelt at their parents feed.
Zeus stood from his thrown and his voice boomed " Rise demigods, today is the day you become gods. This is a great honor that hasn't been bestowed on any mortal hero in many centuries. All questions will be answered after the process is threw and you have received your domains. Now would the both of you step to the middle of the chambers." Before they could move Athena spoke up. " Just a word of warning this is going to be painful and you will most likely pass out from the pain. You should wake up in 15 minutes or so but prepare yourselves this wont be pleasant.
As they moved all the gods started to chant in an ancient language that Percy though was Greek but quickly realized it was something older, it almost felt ancient. Their hands started to glow and before either one of them knew their bodies were on fire. To Percy it felt exactly like when Kronos had cut him with is scythe and he'd bathed in the river Styx at the same time, like his mortality was getting pulled away from him and his body was melting away. He couldn't even make a sound the pain was so bad. The next thing he knew the world was going black and he was falling forward.
Percy woke up thirty minutes later feeling like he'd spent the last month under a sun tanner and been constantly run over by a freight train. He sat up with groan, the first thing he noticed when he opened his eyes was Annabeth sitting across the room in front of her mothers thrown in a chair drinking what he could only assume to be nectar. He heard someone clear their throat and looked to his left to see his dad Poseidon standing over him. He stuck his hand down to his son to pull him to his feet, and said the words that would forever change Percy's life.
"Welcome to godhood Perseus."
