There once was a girl who fell through the world. A world completely unlike her own, however, it must be known the girl went willingly.
For this young honest soul was born to live the life of a warrior. To protect those who couldn't protect themselves and banish the dark creatures were drawn to negative emotions. This part of her life was one she lived proudly, even with the power that shined from her eyes, that she used only when necessary. She also was blessed with the power to create portals that would send anything to the void. Including the creatures of Grimm.
Her tale reached far across the land Remnant that it eventually reached the ears of a famous young wizard known only as Oz. Whether or not this was a nickname to the man's real name no one knew, but he was a young man that possessed wisdom far beyond his years and was deemed a prodigy to fighting to creatures of Grimm using tactics and abilities no one else possessed that he was deemed a wizard too many.
So when the young girl came across the young wizard, she knew immediately who she was dealing with. But rather than asking for her name or giving his own, he presented to her a golden crown embedded with ruby jewels. The girl merely looked between the crown and the young wizard curious of the man's motives. The young wizard merely smiled.
"The crown will show you a possible future." He said. "To which you must make a choice."
"Why me?" She asked him, still eyeing the crown curiously.
"Some things require a simple...more honest soul." He answered vaguely, stretching out the crown towards her. She looked again between the two still a bit suspicious of the young wizard, but the curiosity of whether or not this crown had such an incredible ability got the better of her. She reached for the crown and placed it upon her head.
Immediately, she was transported to an eerie dark place with pools of black water surrounding her. She took a few steps back shocked at what she was seeing, but still curious of what else she would see. However, she then heard the familiar dark growls that came from the creatures of Grimm coming from above, she looked up to face the creatures but was struck with fear. Upon the cliff surrounded by the dark creatures was a tall woman whose skin was ghastly white. She was stroking one of the creature's fur as her glowing red eyes glared at the young girl paralyzing her to where she stood.
"The Grimm have a m-master?" The girl thought taking a step back ready to run.
The witch never said a word to the girl, instead she raised her hand signaling for the Grimm to attack. The girl raised her hands in a meek defense, scared to die…
But no harm came to her.
She was back with the young wizard gasping for air.
"What was that?" She asked the wizard as she threw the crown to the ground. Wanting to be rid of the horrible thing. It clattered to the ground, but it didn't break. Much to the girl's disappointment.
"It was merely a possible future." He answered calmly, picking up the crown and putting it back into his satchel. "I take it you saw her…"
"Wait a minute you know that the Grimm have a…" She couldn't even finish her sentence as the memories of the terrifying Witch came into her mind. She felt sick to her stomach as the fear sunk in again. Immediately she on the ground, hugging herself in a feeble attempt to stop her shaking. The young wizard knelt down grasping the young girl's shoulder.
"I know this is all too much to handle, but please I need your help." He asked.
"To do what?" She asked, looking up to the man regretting the question immediately. The wizard then explained everything to her, how he was a man who's walked the face of Remnant for centuries burdened by the gods above to stop the Grimm's master Salem. But in order to do that he would need the young girl's help.
The girl listened patiently but with each new discovery, she became even more fearful and yet was still curiously full of questions. Why did the world not know of the witch? How did the crown show her this possible future? Where their artifacts like it? And most importantly why her? Why was she burdened with this horrible choice?
When the man was finished he also told her he didn't expect her to accept nor deny immediately.
"Please think it over…" He begged. "I'll return tomorrow for your answer." And as mysterious as he came the young wizard left the young girl alone.
All night she thought of the choice before her and within each passing hour the more she wanted to flee from it, but where could she go? The man would eventually find her again and if he could find her, then the witch Salem could too, despite if the girl decided to face her or not. The hour of the wizard's return was almost upon her and still, the girl didn't know what to do.
But then an idea came into her mind...if she couldn't hide in Remnant, what if she tried to flee to another world? Where no one, not even this horrid choice would find her?
She never questioned where her portals sent the creatures of Grimm, she always assumed it was to a void. An Oblivion where everything that had been sucked in went to die. But what if all this time it was somewhere new? There would be Grimm, on account of her semblance, but that was something she could handle, eventually, there would be eventually none left! And best of all no young immortal wizard on a suicide mission. No witch who could control the dark creatures. It would be a risk, but it was one worth taking. Besides, there were plenty of other warriors such as herself who could handle this and she had no one who would miss her. She would simply fade into a fairytale.
Smiling, she raised her light pink hooded cloak over her head and summoned the power within her. In a burst of whitish pink petals, the black portal appeared from the ground swirling like a whirlpool, ready to be of use. As she readied to leap into the portal she heard a voice crying out to her. Taking a quick glance over her shoulder she saw the young wizard racing towards her.
"Wait!" He begged. "Please! Remnant needs you! I need you!"
The agony in his voice was almost enough to make her stay but almost wasn't enough. Without biding the man an apology she leaped into the portal, running away from Oz the Wizard.
