Then a man appeared from behind the remains of a stone archway in his early 40's, long brownish hair to his shoulders, short facial hair, blue eyes with black clothing with lighter edges jumped back as a young boy in his teens, tanish blonde hair, blue eyes, white clothing appeared as they clashed wooden swords.

"Not bad." The man said.
The boy then tries to jab his wooden sword towards his mentor, but he sidestepped as he stumbled. He continues clashing his sword, but soon his mentor quickly holds him back and held his wooden sword at his throat.
"But not good enough to live." His mentor said.
He then released him as he smiled and chuckled and walks off.

"Mind if I sit down?" The mentor asked. "I don't have your energy."
He then sat down on a small ledge as they continued clashing wooden swords.
"Fight with your head." The mentor laughed a bit.
The boy then raised his sword up and quickly strikes but his mentor blocks it, and then grabs hold of his shirt.
"Not your heart." He said.
He then slightly slapped him as below a hill, a man on a horse heads up a trail.
Soon, the mentor and the boy were at the top of the castle ruin as they clashed swords.
"Straight." The mentor said as they fought. "Better, Einon."
Einon continued clashing his wooden sword, but then his mentor quickly spun and held his wooden sword by the side of his chest.
"But you're still dead." His mentor said and laughed.
They continued practicing as they near a table and their 2 horses stood nearby as they were grazing.
"Purpose, not passion." Einon's mentor said.
Then the mentor grabs a pitcher and pours some water in a cup as Einon continues clashing. And he grabs the cup, and then Einion tries to make a strike as his mentor sidestepped again causing Einon to stumble forward and tripped and hits the ground.
"No one every found victory in the dirt." His mentor said.
Soon, the man on his horse rushed under the archway as he had blondish hair and a beard.
Einon then nears him.
"The peasants are revolting." Einon said.
"They've always been revoltin', Prince." He said. "But now they're rebellin'. King Freyne wants his son to witness his noble victory."
Einon turns to his mentor.
"There's nothing noble about crushing desperate men." He said.
"They're traitorous scum!" The man snapped. "The king commands! Bring him!"
He then heads off as the mentor stared and he then turns back to him.
"You can come, too, nursemaid." He said.
He then rides off.
Later, a number of men on their horses rode through the field, as the sound of pounding hooves echoed.
And another group has arrived on a hilltop and stood.
The group then charged as ahead of them was a barrier of sharpen carved logs as a number of villagers got ready. Many were armed with either pitchforks, shovels, anything they have, and one lit the barrier of logs on fire.
Soon, one horse was able to leap over a low section of the wall as it was the king as he slashed his sword at a villager as he dropped to the ground. And soon more of his knights leaped over.
Some of the knights and the king fought the villagers as others were behind a barricade of sharpen logs.
The king then saw a villager charging towards him with a sharpen stick. But he quickly slashed the stick cutting it in half, and then slashed his sword as him as he dropped dead.
"Die, you dog!" The king yelled.
Another villager tries to strike him with a shovel but missed, and the king strikes his sword at him.
They continued fighting as begin to move towards the village. And several bodies of the villagers lay dead on the ground.
Nearby, on the hilltop, Einon and his mentor arrived and watch the battle.
"I wish we were down there." Einon said almost desperate to join the fight.
"No, you don't." His mentor said.
"Yes, I do." Einon said and turns to him. "Just to see you in action, Bowen. Yours would be the finest blade on the field."
"My blade was not made for your father's slaughter." Bowen said watching the battle.
"He is my father, Bowen, and he is the king." Einon said he turns back to his mentor.
"Yes." Bowen said. "But when you are king, remember today and the difference between battle and butchery. And remember the Old Code." Einon turns back to the battle. "Then you'll be a greater king than your father."
They watched as the onslaught massacre continues and the king rode his horse further into the village.
"I promised, Knight... I will be greater." Einon said.
The massacre continues as the king continues further into the village slashing his sword at villager within reach.
984 A.D.
Freyne then heads across a bridge and placed his sword on the sheath, and then grabs a branch with a flame. And then he nears a hut and nears the flamed branch to the hay of the roof, and kit a few patches. He then rode off as the flame on the house grew, he then went over to another house and lit the hay-covered roof.
He then rode his horse over and nears another house.
Then, a villager appeared as he walks out.
"Freyne!" He called out.
Freyne then turns to him.
"Now, Hewe, now!" The villager yelled.
Then suddenly, more villagers rushed out of hiding from behind huts and under them as they charged towards the king.
Realizing that he has fallen into a trap, Freyne quickly rode his horse to get away. But soon the villagers were starting to cut-off every escape route.
On the hill, Einon saw his father in trouble.
"He's trapped." Einon said.
He then rushed off on his horse to help his father.
"Einon!" Bowen said trying to stop him.
He then chased after him.
"Einon!" Bowen yelled.
Meanwhile, Freyne was still cornered as he tries to fight his way out from the villagers. And soon tossed away the lit branch.
Einon rode his horse quickly through the massacre trying to get to him. Bowen tries to catch up to him, but a villager pushing a wagon blocks his path.
"Einon, no!" Bowen yelled.
Freyne continues tries to escape as he rode his horse, but then a villager knocks his sword from his hand.
Unarmed, the villagers now see their chance as he desperately tries to get away. But then, 1 villager grabs him and starts to pull him off the saddle of his horse. He soon falls off and the villagers started mauling him to death as others gathered waiting for their chance.
"Enough!" The first villager said stopping them. "Enough! The battle's out there!"
They then charged off to fight the knights as Einon watched from a hiding place of under a hut. As soon as they were gone, he got out of his hiding places and looks around as he heads to his father.
He then quickly rushed over to his fallen father only to discover he was too late. As he laid motionless and lifeless all battered.
"Father?" Einon said hoping he was alive.
Then, Einon turns to his father's crown, and attempts to take it. He removes the crown from his helmet, and then suddenly an arm grabs him as Einon saw that his father was still barely alive.
With remaining strength, Frenye tries to take his crown back as they fought.
"Die! It's mine!" Einon coldly said.
Einon pulls the crown away as Frenye drops to the ground completely lifeless.
Einon looks around, and then begins to leave with the crowd. He then saw the villagers rushed by as he watched.
Close by, another villager, a girl with blue eyes, and with a bucket on her head exits a flaming house. She coughed and then lost balance as then she fell off the balcony, and then hits Einon as stumbles forward and hits a wooden beam as a spike impales his chest.
Einon's eyes then widen in pain.
The girl soon recovered from the fall, and turns to Einon and quickly reaches and grabs a stake arming herself.
Einon soon pulls himself free from the spike, and groans in pain and held the wound.
The girl then saw him as she lowered the stake.
Einon saw his right hand covered in blood, and turns to her as he barely tries to stay on his feet.
The girl then removes the bucket from her head, revealing her reddish hair. Einon then weakly holds on to the beam.
Soon, Bowen was able get through the battle as he quickly rode his horse.
"Einon!" Bowen yelled as he rode across the bridge. "Einon!"
The girl watched as Bowen quickly got to the prince as Einon weakly held on to a branch barely standing now.
"I'm here, Einon!" Bowen said and quickly helps the boy on his horse. "I'm here, my King."
He then rushed off as the girl watched them leave, and the villagers flee as one knocked a bucket over. The girl looked down as she saw the water flow with blood.
Bowen quickly rode his horse back to the castle where Frenye once ruled.
In one of the castle's many rooms, the queen who was once Frenye's wife, and Einon's mother with blonde hair, blue eyes and a white dress was working at a desk.
Then a door was heard opening as she looked up and saw Brok enter the room with an unsettled look.
"Dead, madam." Brok said. "King Freyne, your husband, slain."
The queen then lowered her head.
"In here!" Bowen said.
Brok turns to the doorway as Bowen, a maid and a few servants quickly carried Einon into the room as he groans in pain.
"In here, on the bed." Bowen quickly said.
They quickly placed Einon on the bed as one servant had some tools to help try to close the wound.
"Get out!" The queen said. "Out! Out! Brok, out!"
The servants and maids leave the room.
"You stay, Bowen." The queen said.
Brok then leaves the room as the queen and Bowen then began to help Einon.
The queen then carefully lifts her son's tunic up as he groans in pain.
"Forgive me, Queen Aislinn." Bowen said with sorrow.
"There's nothing to forgive." Aislinn said grabbing a piece of clothe. "His father's tyranny brought him to this end."
Aislinn then placed the clothe on her son's chest as Einon yells in pain.
"He's beyond all help." Bowen said.
Aislinn then looked over to a shelf, and saw a few objects in the shape of dragons. She then turns back to Bowen.
"Not all." Aislinn said as if she knew what could heal her son.
Bowen then noticed the dragon objects on the shelf.
Before long, along with Brok and several other knights. They quickly headed down a trail through the forest.
"A knight is sworn to valor." Bowen said to Enion laying on a stretcher being carried trying to keep him awake.
"Sworn to valor." Einon said.
"His heart knows only virtue." Bowen said.
"Virtue."
"His blade defends the helpless." Bowen said. "His might upholds the weak."
Einon heavily breathes.
"You must stay awake, my son!" Aislinn said. "You must stay awake. Repeat the Code."
"The Code." Bowen said. "His might upholds the weak."
"H-His world speaks only truth." Einon said weakly.
"His wrath-"
"Undoes the wicked." He and Bowen said.
A pit of lava stood as flames rose from it, and another pool of lava stood as they enter deep inside a cave.
They continued deeper into the cave as a sound fills the cavern.
"Brok, stay there." Aislinn said.
They continued further into the cave.
"Lord! Great one!" Aislinn called out. "Your song is sad!"
"Are the stars shining tonight?" A voice asked that was deep, elderly and with a wise tone.
"No." Aislinn answered the figure. "No bright souls glitter in this darkness."
The knights then carefully placed Einon down on a flat rock.
Over with Brok, a low roar fills the cavern.
Then, emerging from behind a rock column came a figure.
"Leave us." Aislinn said to the knights as they leave. "Go."
Aislinn and Bowen stood by the weak boy as the figure in the shadows stood and watched.
"Aislinn, daughter of the Celts." The figure said.
"Whose people loved our kind and called you friend." Aislinn said.
"Ah, the king's son... cruel and full of trickery." The creature said as if he knew Einon very well. "Is this why you've come, dragonslayer's wife?" He said with a harsh tone.
"Dragonslayer's widow!" Aislinn stated correctly. "This boy is not his father. This knight here is his mentor. He has taught him the Old Code." She gestured to Bowen. "I need your help."
The creature then watched with wise eyes as Aislinn grabs the crown, and moves the blanket aside. Then she and Bowen gently moved aside his tunic as Einon pants heavily, and Aislinn carefully removes the clothe from his chest revealing the wound as a bit of bone was visible.
"The wound is deep." The creature said. "You know what you ask."
"I will teach him your ways." Aislinn said. "He will grow in your grace. He will grow just and good. I swear."
"No!" The creature protested firmly. "The boy must swear." As if he knew Einon too well. "Give me your sword, Knight."
"Your sword!" Aislinn said to Bowen.
Bowen then pulls his sword from it's sheath, and the creature took it.
"Do not be afraid." Aislinn said to her son as he heavily pants. "He can save you."
"Now listen to me, boy." The creature said sternly. "Swear that your father's blood lust and tyranny died with him." He held the sword over him. "Swear that you will live and rule with mercy. Come to me and learn the Once-ways. Now SWEAR!"
"I swear." Einon said weakly.
Then, Einon exhaled as his life fades away.
"Einon!" Bowen got to his side. "Einon!" He then turns to the creature. "HE'S DEAD!"
He then rushed over and grabs his sword from the creature's left hand as sparks flew from the sword being removed.
"Peace, Knight of the Old Code." The creature said. "Witness the wonders of an ancient glory."
Then, the creature did something unbelievably extraordinary.
He lifts up a scute scale near the base of his neck with his left hand, and then used his right thumb claw to pierce through the skin underneath. And then cuts opens a slash revealing a red glow. He then held his right hand out flat, and then, half of his own heart slid out and onto his hand as it continues beating.
Bowen and Aislinn watched as the creature lowered his hand down as the beating continues and the creature's hand nears Einon's wound on his chest.
Everyone remained silent for a few moments as Bowen watched with an unbelievably look.
The red brightness soon fades away as the wound on Einon's chest suddenly closed and the creature's hand moves away. And then Einon gasped as the creature has given him half of his own heart as the wound had a red glow.
Suddenly, a quick stream of flames hits the wound and rapidly heals the wound as a small smoke stood over the healed wound.
"Half my heart to make you whole." The creature said. "Its strength to purify your weakness. Live, and remember your oath."
Einon soon wakes up and he blinks a few times.
Aislinn stares at her son as a tear drops from her eyes.
Bowen was still stunned of what he saw and turns to the creature.
As even Brok had a stunned look.
Soon, the knights came back and lifted the stretcher off from the rock and carry Einon away. Then Aislinn kneels and bows her head down in thanks, and soon got up and leaves.
Bowen follows them but then turns back to the creature.
"I served the father only for the sake of the son." Bowen said. "All my hopes rest on him. Forgive a doubting fool. Call when you need of me. Ask what you will of me. My sword, my service are yours."
In the shadows, the creature can be seen as a large dragon who is probably nearly a hundred years old.
"Only remind him always of his vow... Knight of the Old Code." The dragon said.
Then, the dragon walks off vanishing within the depths of his cave.
Bowen stood for a moment and then walks off.
The group heads down the trail heading home.
"Brok." Einon said.
"Your Majesty?" Brok said rushing next to him.
"The Romans built this great fortress." Einon said eyeing the castle ruins nearby. "I will rebuild it, and mine will be greater."
Brok looked over to the castle ruins.
"It will take many men, my Lord, to rebuild this ruin." Brok said.
"Yes." Einon said. "Yes, it will."
They continued down the path.
Days later, a platform was built around a pond of water by a cliff as villagers were mining stone.
And Einon now back on his feet watches on his horse, and then looks over with a stern look as Brok arrived on his horse with 3 villagers cuffed to their necks and wrists in stockades. And one of them was the villager behind the trap for Freyne.
Einon approached them as Brok brought them to him.
"Not so rebellious now." Einon said.
"You should thank me, boy." The villager said glaring at him. "It was my stroke made you king."
Brok then brought out a dagger and approached him, and placed the blade over his throat.
"No, Brok, I want no martyrs." Einon said stopping him. "Death should be a release, not a punishment."
Brok brought his dagger away from the villager's neck and backs away.
"Look good, dog." Einon said. "I'm the last thing you'll ever see."
Brok then lifts up a blade with an orange-hot tip.
"Burn the insolence out of his eyes." Einon ordered.
Brok then approached him.
"No!" The villager desperately pleaded as 2 guards held him. "No! Not my eyes! No!"
Some distance away, in the nearby trees was the girl who injured Einon as she watched helplessly as the man was actually her father.
"Father!" She quietly cried and looked away.
Then pounding hooves of a galloping horse was heard, and a sword slashed cutting the ropes freeing the 3 villagers was Bowen.
"Run!" Bowen yelled.
The 3 villagers quickly removed the stockades off them and made a run for it.
And the girl saw them as they fought the guards as they ran. Brok quickly caught up to one attacking a guard, and stabs him in the back.
"How dare you defy me!" Einon angrily yelled at Bowen.
Bowen placed his sword in it's sheath. "Einon, you're unwell. You've been bewitched." He went up to him. "Look at this!" He gestured to the mining villagers. "It's madness! Remember the Code!"
"The king is above the Code!" Einon said dismissively reaching for his dagger.
Bowen quickly stops him and pulls him off his horse and pins him to the ground.
"Have you forgotten everything I taught you?" Bowen said. "No one is above the Code... especially the king."
Einon only narrowed his eyes in a glare.
Bowen then hugs him, and soon he got up and leaves.
Then Bowen rode off on his horse.
Soon, Bowen has returned to the dragon's cave.
"DRAGON, I LOVED THAT BOY, AND YOU CHANGED HIM!" Bowen angrily yelled. "YOU TRICKED ME, DRAGON! NO MATTER WHERE YOU FLY... NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO, I WILL FIND YOU! TODAY I MAKE A NEW VOW! I WILL SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE HUNTING YOU DOWN!"
Author's Note:
To be honest, I didn't know about DragonHeart till seeing a clip of DragonHeart: A New Beginning of Geoff and Drake meeting each other for the first time. And after seeing the first film, it soon got my interest.
I have read the 2 other crossover stories, which were more in the HTTYD verse. So I decided to bring up an actually story.
