Hello!

Welcome to the sequel of "Not Yours", if you have not read it, I recommend doing so, so you can see what events led upto this predicament that Marinette has found herself in. I wanted to explore what could possibly happen if Marinette was publicly known to be dating Chat Noir, and this is what I came up with.

I hope you enjoy, I do not have a rigid updating schedule as of yet, but I do have all the chapters planned out for this instalment.

Please let me know your thoughts on the situation our heroine has found herself unwittingly thrown into, I really hope you enjoy the chaos that is about to ensue!

Take it easy =D

'How the hell did this happen?'

Marinette was staring at her reflection in disbelief.

Olive green eyes stared back from where her ocean blue should have been.

Resting her head on the cool surface of the bathroom mirror, the no-longer-ravenette racked her brain for an answer as to how this could have transpired.

'Akuma, that is the only plausible explanation.'

One minute, Marinette had been walking along the corridor with Chloé and Alya, the next minute, she was stumbling in the opposite direction: her head pounding with blurry vision.

Now, her vision was no longer fuzzy, but Marinette was still unable to believe her eyes as the olive orbs of the one and only Lila Rossi stared back at her.

'This is a disaster!'

Staring at her clothing only confirmed her fears. Feeling the fabric of Lila's attire under her fingertips made her feel sick.

'What the fudge am I going to do?!'

The teen, now finding herself in the body of the most loathed girl in school, was without her friends, without her unmasked boyfriend, and without Tikki.

'Shit!' She grasped at her earlobes. 'No no no no NO!'

The only thing Marinette could think of, was trying to get to her friends and hope they would listen to the truth coming from the mouth of the school's most prolific liar. 'I'm doomed…' the young woman thumped her head against the cool mirror for good measure.

'I can't text them, because I don't know how to get into Lila's phone… even if I could, they've all blocked her number…. great~ just peachy!' She sighed as the bell sounded out, the ringing echoing through the girls' bathroom as Marinette tried to keep calm and think rationally. 'I know things, things that only I would know, how do I get them to listen to me?'

Approaching her friends would not be an option: there was no way they would give her the time of day in her current body. It had been two months since Lila had been suspended due to how she acted that day and her previous behaviour, and it had been seven weeks since the scheming Italian had returned. Apparently, you cannot get kicked out of school for being a liar who caused misery and mayhem for her fellow students; and apparently, with her mother being who she was, Dickhead-Damocles had been a bit more lenient on the pathological liar.

'How fitting her name is… Lie-la… it's like her mother foreseen what was going to happen!'

Rubbing the Italian's face, Marinette decided that if she was going to be stuck in this body, she may as well be comfortable. Taking out the hair ties, which held the brunette's hair in the form of sausages, 'seriously, what is with this style?' Marinette, then took a look at her attire, and tried to fathom how she could be less Lila…

The Parisian gulped, there was no way she could try and convince her friends to listen with just a change of appearance alone. Each and every one of her classmates given the fibbing female a wide berth after it came out about all the trouble she had caused; it was actually a wonder as to why Lila had not done anything sooner.

'Why does Hawkmoth always Akumatise Lila!?'

Then it struck Marinette:

This was a double hit!

No one else had it in for Marinette, and Marinette was a direct link to the heroes of Paris!

'Oh my Kwami, I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner…' she thought wryly to herself as olive eyes rolled in the mirror.

Lila hated Marinette, and Hawkmoth knew about her relationship with Chat Noir: everyone knew about their relationship, and it had been way too quiet recently on the Akuma front. With one or two Akumas in the weeks after it became common knowledge that Chat Noir had a civilian girlfriend, it just made sense that the villain was biding his time. 'He must have been waiting for the perfect moment to strike!' Only earlier that day, when Marinette, Alya, Chloé and Sabrina had been talking in the locker room, both the reporter and the socialite had practically called Lila out for being jealous of Marinette. At the time, the ravenette had known Lila's expression was too smug for it to have been a mere coincidence that she had appeared unexpectedly: the scheming con had been waiting for the right moment to strike!

Alya and Chloé's words echoed in Marinette's foreign ears:

"Why can't you just leave us be Lila, Marinette's been nice about it, but I'm getting sick of turning around and you loitering behind us!"

"You'll never be Marinette. No one will ever see you as anything more than what you are… a jealous nobody who makes up lies to gain sympathy! Don't even think that anything out of your mouth will ever be believed again!"

It had all been a setup! It must have been!

Marinette just had to work out how.

How had Lila managed to orchestrate this plan?

Was she in cahoots with Hawkmoth?

Where was the goddamn Akumatised object?

'Is it on me?'

Giving herself a pat down, Marinette soon realised that there was literally nothing on Lila's body apart from clothing.

'She's stashed it! She must have!'

With a new found determination, the Parisian teen in the Italian's body made her way to registration. Marinette was going to get to the bottom of this fiasco, ad prayed that a solution would appear at the right time.

Lila was in her element.

She had been studying Marinette ever since that wretched day, and was going to put all of her research to good use.

Gone were the days of stutter-nette, and the new way that Marinette held herself confidently, worked well for Lila: she just needed to make sure there was no mistakes on her part.

The Italian had put her plan into motion earlier by making sure to piss Chloé and Alya off enough to swear they would never believe anything to come out of her mouth again: and then Hawkmoth did his thing. After her suspension, and having to seriously grovel to her Mother to rescue her from expulsion, Lila had become one with a butterfly yet again. The moment that tainted vessel took over her being however, instead of immediately transforming, Hawkmoth simply spoke to the peeved off teen, and they had been having weekly briefings ever since.

Simply waiting for the opportune moment to strike.

Lila was quite proud of her input into the scheme that the villain had suggested, and if she got to take down not just Marinette, but the Parisian dream team too, all the hate she had been required to endure would have been worth it. Of course her mother had suggested she go to a different school, start anew and move on with her life, but Lila had unfinished business. There was no way in hell that she would leave and let them get the better of her. No, Lila had a score to settle, and the Italian was determined to win.

The new hero who had turned up had not been a puzzle either, as she had been able to deduce that it was Chloé behind the mask of the new addition. It had been pretty obvious, with the way she had defended Chat's pathetic girlfriend and highlighted how she was still in contact with him, that she was still a candidate for a Miraculous. However, that information had been kept close to her chest, Hawkmoth did not need to know as he had already failed where Lila was certain she could succeed.

Chloé was nothing special, and her emotions still got the better of her; 'she's even caused an Akuma since becoming a hero! Such bad choices the idiots have made…'

Lila smiled as Chloé linked the arm of the body she was in, and loved the fact that she had been able to infiltrate this clique of self-proclaimed do-gooders, bar Chloé, and was just waiting for the first opportunity to highlight just how idiotic they were… Toying with the pink ring on her finger, she smirked as Marinette's friends chatted animatedly around her, and Lila could not see how her plan could possibly fail. 'They ain't gonna know what's hit them until it's too late! his is almost too easy!'

When Marinette arrived in class inside Lila's body, she instantly knew what it was like to be invisible. No one paid her any attention, as everyone practically ignored the fact that she was there.

'This is so strange.'

She made her way up to her usual seat and then realised, at the last minute, that her body was already there. Like a deer in headlights, Marinette tried to quickly reboot, but the bitch that was occupying her body, drew attention to her presence.

"Can I help you, Lila?"

Marinette found her words caught in her throat as she became glued to the spot. Facing off against the Italian in her own body had her stunned to the point where all her previous determination had fizzled out: leaving her being to be replaced by sheer panic.

Marinette tried: "I, uh, you have-"

"What?" Alya scowled at her, "what has Marinette done now Lie-la?"

Chloé laughed menacingly, "she's been with us all day you imbecile, whatever you're trying to pull this time is easy to dispute."

Staring at her own blue eyes, which glinted with Lila's mirth, Marinette felt hopeless. 'At least I know they have my back I s'pose…' Feeling the body she was in beginning to shake, Marinette made her way to the back of the class and just hoped that one of her friends or Adrien would notice.

"I have no idea what that was about," Alya muttered sarcastically, "you'd think she would have buggered off after that stunt she pulled… I still can't believe Damocles let her off with a suspension after all the shit she did."

Lila felt smug, and caught herself before anyone noticed the smirk that threatened to show itself. "I'm sure she'll get the hint soon," she replied, keeping her tone in tune with how Marinette usually sounded, "let's not think about her anyway. She's not worth our time."

"You're right," Alya sighed as the boys finally entered the classroom.

The blonde nodded with a pleasant smile at who he thought was Marinette, and Nino gave his girlfriend a quick peck before they both took their seats. Lila smiled sweetly back, she had noticed how close Adrien and Marinette had become recently, and could not wait to put a spanner in the works however she could. 'The shit is really going to hit the fan!'

Marinette watched Adrien smile at her body and felt powerless to draw his attention to her. The girl stuck in Lila's form, had realised that no matter how she tried, it was pointless to confront the liar outright. She needed to convince her friends one by one, and Marinette needed to find someone, anyone, that could help her in this predicament. The teen knew that there would be severe consequences if Lila realised Adrien was her leather bound boyfriend, and was just glad that they had managed to keep up the pretense of just good friends in school.

This gave her time.

time was not something Marinette could spare when it came to the presence of Tikki however. The Parisian hero just hoped that her faithful Kwami had noticed something was awry, and was not actually asleep in the bottom of her purse after gorging on cookies.

As the distressed teen pondered further, Miss Bustier finally walked through the door, and Marinette could instantly see the solution to her problem.

Before Miss Bustier could start the lesson, Marinette raised her hand. "Miss Bustier," she called, hating the way her voice sounded, "could I speak with you for a moment please?"

The visible way that the educator tried to hide her annoyance at Lila's request would have been entertaining, if Marinette had not been in the liar's body. As the redhead nodded with a poorly hidden grimace, Marinette stood up from Lila's seat in the back of the class and cautiously made her way down the steps; ignoring the mutters of annoyance from her peers, who must have assumed that this was going to end up being another way that Lila tried to gain the attention of those around her. Unfortunately, Marinette's grace, or lack thereof, had transitioned over to Lila's body, causing her to trip on her way down and land right next to Adrien.

She instantly missed the way he would usually catch her, but refused to look at him as she was aware it would seem as though it was Lila who would wordlessly plead with him using her olive eyes.

Instead, the teen muttered to herself with a groan, "majorly clumsy, as always…"

Brushing herself off, Marinette could feel everyone's eyes on her as she refused to acknowledge her own bag slightly in the walkway and followed the teacher out into the corridor. She hoped this would work, as it was currently the only method Marinette could think of that would help her alert her Kitty and fellow heroes to the switch.

So... was that what you were expecting? Let me know and stay tuned for the next instalment!
