What happens when things from long ago are buried for a reason. Yet when some poor soul, or evil corporation, or evil person. Stumble along and exploit for their own personal gain? Some of you would be surprised and some of you wouldn't understand what was this mysterious event? Come now. Sit down in your most comfortable chair, grab a snack, grab your hot apple cider or hot chocolate. Let me tell you the story of what happened.
Twenty years earlier. There was this urban legend. A rather young who was a regular joe like you and me. He was the youngest of his family. He wasn't the social type. He never did any after-school activities, he didn't participate in school sports only in class he did. He knew everyone in his classmate's names. He was rather close to a few but we all knew what happened down the line.
When the time came for graduation he and his classmates all grew up with each other. Had to be separated for their own future that lies ahead of them. As you figured, did he go to his classmate's graduation parties? That answer is a no.
How did he progress his time off before starting off his freshman high school year? Honestly, he just lay low. But he did however find sections of books. Visual novels to be precise. He was open to a massive world of visual novels that help him understand. How to go through his high school years and experience so he won't make the same mistakes in novels that might punish him in the long run.
Highschool years have started for him. He improved his personality, improved his social life, and he learns skills that will help him in his future. Thanks for reading the novels. However, there was one thing in common. That found that special someone that we all seek.
For this person even with the novels and the changes that he experienced. He couldn't find love. Being a person who enjoys these types of novels. It's rather embarrassing and questionable. With that in the back of his mindset, it makes it hard for him to move on to the next step of life.
But that began to change in his last year of high school. During his high school journey rather emotionally and impactful events have happened within his family. His brother and sister have left the house and started living by themselves. Along with having relationships. While he was left alone struggling to find his lover. During this movement change, the family got sad and dark news. The family mother has stage four lung cancer. The news impacted everyone in his individual family and the relative's families.
It didn't help after the first semester of his final years of high school. His mother passed away on her own terms. With this devastating news, things were not in a pleasant time. The brother and sister took time but eventually accepted the fate and continued on. While father took some leads of absence from work to accept the fate and attend the psychology meeting to help his mentality.
The youngest took a month and a half off of school to process what has happened. He still did his schoolwork to keep up with the final grades. That determines if he graduates. Time has passed he gets the courage and willpower to return to school. With that action set and done. The fellow students and faculty gave their regards. They also have offered their emotional support. This went on for some time and round the final three months.
He was better than before his dad still attends the psychology meetings but has improved. While his brother and sister go on. But something on this day changes his life and his view of reality.
On a regular sunny day with the birds singing people are enjoying the weather. He gets up for the day, does regular life tasks, gets his backpack, supplies, and shoved off. During the day things start appearing out of nowhere both in the streets and highschool. Figures with a particular face have appeared. He bumps into each individual figure. Saying their names, all of them being shocked and running away. He gets confused and freaks out.
After the day he walked back but something was odd. A feeling of being watched and being followed. He looks around and then finds a figure that is not natural. A dark color all over, horns, and red demon eyes look deep in his soul. There were two actions one is to runaways and be hunted. Or two fight and have a chance to live.
He decides to fight and that action was a mistake the hellish figure runs toward him with blazing flames. He turns around and runs with his life. The hellish figure gets a burst of hell speed and gets closer, closer, and closer. He then trips on concrete. Turns around sees the hellish figure getting very close, and closer and closer. Until a huge bright light flashes for a few seconds. Then some girl voices started talking. How they should have not interfered but others are protesting. The bright light has disappeared. There in front were a couple of girls in shining armor and white snow wings.
He gets up in distress asking what they are, who they are, and what was that hellish figure. He then realized. What he sees is from what he experienced that day and knowing by their names.
They eventually told him. That when he moved on in his life. He simply moved on but something in the outer realms. As the two white wing figures 'say'. He then just fainted right on the spot. The white wing figures pick him up and head to his place.
He then wakes and sees himself back in his home believing that it was a dream. Think he just went home and took a nap from the day. Soon that wasn't the case the wing figures appeared but in regular clothing. The wing figures again explain what he saw was real and they were sent to protect him from this mysterious event.
So he accepted it and just talked with wing figures to catch up and understand how they got here. So they told him their side of the story and he was amazed. But also saw it was the night he then got up, said his goodnights and went off to sleep. The winged figures did as well.
Daybreak hit the skies waking him up. He gets up to make food for his guest. After all that both he and the wing figures. Got dressed and was ready to go with him in the final weeks of his semester. But in the sky, a portal of some kind appeared. Bring down 4 figures dressed in weird skimpy clothing. With the intrudes in close proximity. Force the two wing figures and himself to get in cover. However one of the intruders noticed him and a clash of fights broke out on who was going to win the prize.
After Hours of fighting both clash and attackers were on their last stands. While things might be looking in their favor. All of sudden a surprise attack on the defender was seduced putting him in a sleep state. The intrudes drag him then another portal has opened. Sucking them in while the defender's last effort lunged to the portal as well. Now a train of events happens. As the legend says.
*A book suddenly closes and dust spread around* "Cough Cough".
"Jeez, these old textbooks get so much dust. No wonder why this place is abandoned and letting natural elements wither these books away." Says a deep tone voice of a male.
"Come on Pheonix get what you need this place is falling apart and bad for my health." Says a softer tone male voice.
"Alright alright." The deep tone male salvages what he thinks is worth some money or trading material. He then gets out in the sunlight surrounded by a sand dune desert location. Of a marble building that assumes once was a library for a city, or village, or town at some point in time.
"Pheonix why did we have to go all way out here it an almost mid-day?" says the soft tone male
"Because Moose I wanted to see what this ruin was and wanted to see what things it had. You could have said no and say at home with your wife." says the deep-toned male whose name is Pheonix.
"I know but the wife gets too demanding on some of her days." says a soft-tone male named Moose.
"If you knew that why did you marry her then Moose."
"Cause I love her. You should try it sometime Pheonix. Besides being a bachelor in his twenties."
"Hey, my life I decide what I want you know that."
" Yeah, I do. Now Pheonix come let us get back home I don't want to be fired in the midday heat."
"Alright, Moose.
So both Pheonix and Moose grab their gear and start to make the 20 miles walk back home. A few hours later before midday sunlight hit its peak for the day. "Here we are back home Pheonix."
"Yup Dead Man's Ville. Home sweet home and a crime-infested one to boot."
"Hey don't say that. You love it here and it's also easy money to pay."
"Yeah, I know. OH DUCK!" I push Moose down and pull out my automatic pistol and kill the unlucky soul.
"Jeez! Thanks, Pheonix"
"No problem Moose now get back to your wife before you see her in a hospital bed again."
"Yeah. Cya you around Pheonix don't forget to send that body to the undertaker."
"Don't worry. Cya Moose" So I tip my hat to Moose and go to that unlucky soul and take him to the undertaker. I pick the body up and head to the town's undertaker. Where Law says " If weapons or shoots were drawn. You defend your life and claim the rewards of the fallen.
"Hey, Pheonix I see you got another fallen. Who drew this time. You?" Says a gravel tone male.
"Nope, not this time undertake. I was with Moose all day exploring ruins of the desert." Put the body on the table.
"Ah. Just salving the old world." The undertaker goes to body marks and hands me 150 gold.
"Yup." grabs the gold.
"I don't understand you Pheonix. Why go out in that barren landscape of the old world."
" Better than possibility being on that table of yours Undertaker." says sarcastically
"Yup. I understand that anyways cya next time Pheonix." says undertaker took the body to his backroom.
" Cya Undertaker." I walk out of the building ahead to my small home over on the hill.
I walk to my wood supply and chop some wood up. *Looks Up* Oh didn't see you there. *Looking like talking a ghost* Not a ghost You the reader. Jeez, normal book narration. Look, I know I'm being watched well in your case being read. I was the one telling that legend tale some years ago. Well, where I'm at yeah some years but this happened more years ago than you think. But the reason I said that *Chops wood* is because * Reach in my bag pulls an old decaying book.*
This book only recently appeared in this realm. Yeah, I know this is a different realm. It is one of my main reasons why I go on expeditions in the old-world to understand different realities. See *Chops another wood and place another* My realm if you are caught talking about this stuff you've been seen as madmen and easy bounty hunters. *Chops the wood* That is not how I roll. So another question you the reader might ask. "Do you know what is going to happen in this story?" To answer your question no I don't. I only know that I'm being watched and again in your case being read. *Picks another wood and chops* So cya later.
Sunset has approached the town of Dead Man's Valle. Then sounds of a bell ring to the entire town. Indicating that everyone is closing their windows and dowsing the lights. While on top of the small hill the light still shines.
Hey! About time you come back it is me again. Pheonix what is the reason why town folk here do close their windows and put out lights? Simply because at night where town stands sandstorms happen every night here. But for me, I'm on the hill so the sand doesn't reach this far up top.
You are wondering what about the legend story. Save you some time for all of it. Because the book is so old and exposed to elements, the rest of the pages are gone. No one really knows. Wait what that is in the distance. Go on, narrator.
From a far distance, a dim light is walking up on the hill. *Whoever it is must take some balls to come up in the nightly storm. Yeah, expect some foul language.* I grab my gun and pull it out.
"Pheonix?"
*Wait is that Moose?* "Moose what the hell you coming up my hill during the nightly sandstorms?"
"Oh! Sorry for that, I was on my way home from the saloon. I lost track of time and forgot how far home was. So I decided to come up here for the night. Is that fine with you?"
"No shit dumbass I don't want Kitten hounding me for not letting you say for the night and that you say at the saloon for god knows how long. Get your ass a chair and chill by the fire."
" Yeah, she would do that." Moose grabs a chair and sits across from me.
"So might I ask why you were at the salon for the whole day besides being with your wife?"
"Simply put I was on a heater. You no saying"
We both say "Once on heater say while it's going good."
"Yeah, I know that. So how much did you win?"
"25,000 Gold."
"HOLY HELL. But How!"
"I had 4 of kind Aces. In my hand, by luck, I was aiming for a full house ironically."
"Jeez. WAIT! From whom?"
"A group of guys with black hats and full facial goatee."
"OH GOD!"
"What!?"
"You playing against The Coyote Crew. The deadliest crew rising from the desert."
"OH GOD NO!"
"Yup If by luck you got 4 of a kind is rare and 4 Aces that might be accused of Cheating."
Moose has his hands covering his face with his hands "What I'm I going to do Pheonix!"
"Well, you are not going to like it but we have to go after the gang before they go after you and kill Kitten."
"GOD DAMN IT!" Moose gets up and kicks his chair to the ground. But picks it back up and sits on it.
"Ok. When is the day?" Moose says in a sad tone
"First, did you see where they went before the bells rang?"
"I saw they were heading straight from the town entrance."
"Ok, they had to stop somewhere close cause the storms were picking up." I pondered the location then came to me. "THE LIBRARY!"
"Wait for that ruined place early in the morning?"
"Yes! That makes sense because that was the only close place that was covered from Sandstrom. Get some shut-eye we leave at first light. We have to be on foot so rest what you can, we are going to need it."
"Alright. If you say so Pheonix."
I get up, put out the fire and gather my gear for the first light and close my eyes. The first light of the sun hits my hill. I wake up and wake Moose up. We split my gear with Moose and we started to head off while the sun was still rising. Few early morning hours went by and we arrived at the ruined library. And as I thought last night the gang horses are here and haven't left yet.
"Ready Moose" I whisper and pull my gun out.
"Ready as I can be Pheonix." He pulls his gun out "Your call"
I nod and we both aim our pistols and aim inside or run and fire a whole clip inside. *BANG BANG BANG* The bodies of the gang lay in the sand.
"Moose claims those horses down, we are going to need them to transfer the bodies back to town."
With no hesitation, Moose goes and easies the horses while I go back inside the ruins and pull the gang bodies out one by one. As doing so the blood of the gang went downhill from the sand and made indentation to the floor leaving a tunnel.
"Hey, Moose. Go ahead and head back to town with the bodies and leave a horse for me. I found something I rather explore while you go back. Cause Kitten might get worrisome."
"Alright, Pheonix. Please be careful I don't want to bring your dead ass body back to town." Saying in a worried tone.
"Don't worry. I will be alright go on now."
With that said and done Moose left-back to town. Leaving me alone out here. I head down the tunnel and enter an underground room. "What the hell is this. I guess more ruins of the old world." In that room, all I see are cobwebs and a small number of light openings. With sand building up. I pull out a lighter and make my own light.
"Whatever this is, it was supposed to be hidden from anyone who decided to enter this deep" "I see traps that were once operational but sand triggered by looks mostly all them." I slowly walked my way to a podium that was in the middle of a once shielded room. An odd object was on the podium. It looks like an old technology from an old world in the shape of a book. But with no pages and is flat.
I gently picked it up and tapped on the screen. It didn't work but it shows a symbol that somewhat looks like a battery. From what I read in old-world books. "Needs some type of power source." But all of a sudden the ruined building started to shake aggressively.
"SHIT!" I turned my back around and sprinted as fast as I could and got out of the tunnel before it collapsed on me.
"JEEZ FUCKING CHRIST THAT WAS CLOSE!" I say with adrenaline. Is then the once ruined library collapses under its own support.
"Well, there goes that ruin now let us get back to town." I get on the horse left behind for me from Moose and make my way home. I put this strange relic in my backpack. Once done so the screen of the relic is hit by the sun charging up the relic to its maximum power.
After a couple of hours. I arrived back at Dead Man's Ville. I see Moose brought the bodies to the undertaker and assumed he got a good payday. I turn my head to Moose's house and see him getting yelled at by Kitten.
"Poor him. He did win by luck and not to mention by a gang no other."
I walk my new horse to my home on the hill so it can relax. "There you go." Pats the horse. Then place that mysterious relic outside and I'm looking for my books I scavenged before the library collapsed.
The relic all of the sudden lights up. Broadcasting a single all over the desert.
"MAMM! You need to see this." shouts out a female soldier voice"
"Uhh... What is this time Sargent."
"Our radar has detected a relic in the Multiverse.
The female officer is looking over the center and is in shock and disbelief.
"It detected WHAT!" The officer shouts. She goes to the device and looks over the Sargent's shoulder.
"But how? What that location Sargent"
"According to our records. The location is a deserted desert location with villages and towns. Over ruins of cities that once stood in place. Mamm"
"That doesn't make any sense. Sargent gives me your findings in 15 minutes no later!"
"Yes, Mamm!" The female soldier started to get her information for her officer."
Fifteen minutes had gone by and the Sargent got her finds to her officer right on deadline. The Officer grabs the finds and goes to her higher-ups.
"MAJOR MUNAKATA! YOU NEED TO SEE THIS ITS URGENT" Shout Officer.
"Come in." Says an older male
"What makes this Urgent Officer Seri"
"This Major!" She puts the finding on Major Munakata's desk.
"Our radars have picked up a single from a relic in the multiverse"
With that said Major gets the same expression that she had in the command center.
"But that is impossible. Every device from…" the major goes quiet.
"From what? Major?" Ask Officer Seri
"Seri go lock the doors" She does so.
"What I'm going to say never leaves this room or tells no one else. Got that." She nods "Alright. From the first Multiverse War.
"The Multiverse War!? You were part of that war?"
"Haha! Part of war no I fought the war. I was a young captain fighting with former General Weismann. The War was none like wars I ever fought before."
"How come Major?"
"This war had us jumping into different realm after realm after realm. Trying to stop and fix the multiverse from falling apart and other chaos. Once the war was getting to an end. Me, General, and friend were off to the final battle. Once the battle was over. General Weismann destroyed every device from causing this war to happen again. But by the looks of one was kept hidden for these many many years."
"Wow Major. I have nothing to say to that. But now what do we need to do."
The Major walks to his desk and sits down.
"This is why this division was created. After that war, General created this to keep the multiverse from ever falling into that again. Send out our special forces and tell them to meet me in the war room."
"Yes, Major." She is dismissed by the major and grabs her soldiers.
Major grabs a cigarette and lights it. *puffs a smoke* "Ahh...Let's pray to God that there will not be another war. Unlikely but God no. *Puffs more*
At war room " Major here are finest special operators."
Seri steps to the side letting the major examine the selected few.
"Alright Officer you are dismissed"
Seri salutes the Major and heads back to the radar center. Major walks around the soldiers examining head to toe.
" Alright squad what you are about to see and be told will never this room or after missions are successful is that clear.
"YES SIR!" The squad shouts together.
"Alright. I will be your leading officer in this mission. I might be old but I assure you. You fine soldiers that I can do a lot more damage than you think. Now for the mission at hand.
Recent reports that we have gathered from our radar division have detected a mysterious relic. That can be a global threat to our world and many other worlds. This branch was created secretly to protect the multiverse. If you are still confused or just following your superior orders you are mistaken. The multiverse is a term used that is possibly realities beyond our own. This relic is key to other gateways and it needs to be destroyed and the hoster. IS THAT CLEAR!"
"YES SIR!" Shouts the men
"GOOD NOW GET YOUR GEAR AND MET ME AT THE VEHICLE HANGER. THAT AN ORDER!" Shouts general!
"YES SIR!"
"You're dismissed." General puts his hand by his head to salute. The soldiers follow as well and immediately go and get their gear.
At the vehicle hanger, the soldiers are standing with their gear by their boots. The general walks to them.
"Alright men. Where this relic located the world that it remains in is an entire desert. So expect the environment to be harsh. To counter these environmental measures and make them quick. We are giving heavily armored jeeps equipped with the latest and deadly technology. So pick up your gear, put it on and place it in the jeep we are moving out ASAP."
"Yes Sir." The men put on their gear and place their items in the jeep and get into seats. While the general takes the driver's seat and moves his hands. Giving the people in the hanger action to create a rift.
The rift was created. A violet inside, a dark blue in the shape of the ring, and back for the center. " Brace yourselves men we are entering the rift."
General moves the heavy jeep forward to the portal and enters it. Shaking the vehicle aggressively. A robotic voice says "Entering Realm in T-minus in 4...3...2...1." It shakes more and more than the shake stops.
"Men." The soldiers look out the small windows " Welcome to dimension-01015A. We are 35miles away from our objective. Closing the windows is going to get cooler in here and high tech."
The men close the windows and the vehicle pitch black but the steel walls start to change into fullscreen windows showing the outside. "Like I said men it's a desert but has relics of the old world that once stood before. Get a power nap in men. It is going to be 35 minutes before we get to the location.
So rest what you can or play cards it is up to you. Nothing much to see besides ruins, miles of sand, and some people walking around."
The men do what they are told while the general is driving the vehicle to Dead Man's Ville.
The relic is still broadcasting while I Am looking through my books. *I get a good amount of books I put outside while relaxing reading the books.*
"According to these few books, this relic is something from the medieval period." "I'm talking to you, reader."
"You need to pay attention sometimes. Jeez. So this relic from medieval times. It was created by a mage. He was aware of the multiverse. According to this text."
"The multiverse was called black magic and should be killed whoever found using it. Call that a means of containment or just plan brutality? Who knows it was a different and dark time history."
From a distance, the heavy machine jeep is getting closer.
"MEN! WAKE UP!
"YES SIR!
"We are just a few miles away so prepare for a surprise ambush. So suit up, gear up, and get your weapons armed. Tank ammunition loaded up firing in 3...2...1!"
*While reading* "Hmm, according to this book the relic was once found during a war. Some enemies of superpower issue an excavation dig on rumor ware about rel…."
All of sudden a massive explosion hits Dead Man Villi. Causing an aftershock shaking all the builds around and collapsing them.
"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL WAS THAT! * I get up covered in sand and my books are gone or possibly burned. I also grab a pair of binoculars and see a very heavy armed vehicle with heavy arteries come this way.*
"Fucking hell is this an invasion or some group of fucking mercenaries want to get a name for themselves. Well, whatever it is I'm not just standing around hoping not getting blown up."
*Gets my guns and suites up*
In the armored vehicle, the soldiers are waiting patiently. "SIR!"
"Yes, sergeant."
"Looks like we got the entire village's attention and looks like...RPG! Get the fuck down."
Everyone in the vehicle gets down and in cover while the RPGs hit tanks and cause the armor to flip and open wide open.
"Cough, Cough, Cough. Is everyone alright who injured who not."
Few men get up while others are killed by the medal impaled them.
"We alright sir but others didn't make it from the destruction."
"Alright. Men get up and get out who knows they might be on their way to here."
*The rest of the men get out of the vehicle and take cover from the ruin of the armored vehicle until. A bullet was shot directly in the head.*
"MAN DOWN, MAN DOWN!"
From afar I was sitting from edged with a sniper. "*laughs* God damn rookie. Know your environment in any situation."
*I aim at my scoop* "Who next. OH! Looks like the townspeople are gathering up and shooting at them. I don't need to do the heavy lift…"
*A bullet got close to my shoulder.* " FUCK!" *I get out of my place and get into cover.*
"SNIPER ON THE HILL!" One of the soldiers shouts and the General fires a bullet. " Tagged them but still mobile. Everyone, move, move!"
The men run as fast as they can toward the village and head straight to cover and kill some of the town's men."
"God damn who are these fuckers!" shouts a village men
Bullets fired "Whoever these people are they are skilled way beyond our…." The townsmen are killed.
"General where the relic." Shouts a soldier
* Munakata pulls the sensor ping pointing the direction* "It's over the hill. You are covering me lets go SARGENT!"
"Yes, Si…" The Sargent was shot dead at the spot
"FUCK! Seir comes in Seir!"
In another realm "OFFICER SERI!" shouts a soldier.
"WHAT!"
"Officer, it's the Major he is calling in distress."
"What are you waiting for then get him on my channel now!"
"YES, MAM!" The soldier is put Major on Officer Seri channel"
"WHAT GOING ON MAJOR!"
"OFFICER SERI ABOUT FUCKING TIME! MEN ARE DYING LEFT AND RIGHT AND RELIC IS CLOSE I NEED IMMEDIATE RIFT EXIL. WHEN I GET THE RELIC!"
"YES SIR!"
The Major is running to the hill where the relic is. He avoided shots and climbing the hill. He reached the top where my home is and my books.
"What the hell? Who is this stuff" Major walks to my books all about old world history?
"Whoever this home is, he was very interested in the past." A bullet shot misses him. "FUCK WHERE THE RELIC!" Out of sheer panic and fear of bullets hitting him he scored all my stuff and items on trying to find the location of this relic.
*Bullets are coming in faster and more of them he had no choice but to flip my table on the side just give him temporary cover* "SERI WHAT MY ETA ON MY EXVIL WE MAY NEED TO ABDOND THIS OP"
"ETA FEW MINUTES BETTER LOOK FOR THAT RELIC WHIT WHAT YOU HAVE MAJOR!"
"IM FUCKING TRING BUT THIS PLACE IS A MESS!" Bullets firing at multiple levels. Major is skim through what is left of my home and my items. Till he found an old golden color, with pictographs of some kind. The major with no hesitations grabs it.
"SERI I GOT THE RELIC WHERE MY."* A loud gunshot is heard and cutting of the major.
"MAJOR!? MAJOR! I NEED A SQUID IMMEDIATELY I'M GOING DOWN THERE!"
With no arguing Officer Seri gathers any kind of soldier and enters the rift.
"Cough. *blood spews out* Cough" The major falls on his knees and sees the rift forming he crawls his way there. With what is left of his strength.
A sound of music plays in the background "'So you wanna start a War'" "I must*Coughs more* I must get to the rift" *music gets louder* "'In the Age of Icons'" Major is slowing down.
At the foot of the rift, Officer Seri is about to appear. * Another gunshot is fired* Stopping the major "'So you wanna be immortal'" The major rolls overseeing the sun in his eyes. "'With a loaded Gun'" A shadowy figure approaches with his gun "'So you wanna start a War, War So, you wanna start a War'" The music gets even louder.
The rift is almost complete. Seri is almost there, the music grows "'Bang, shots fired, Pain is what you desire'" The shadow figure stops by the dying major and he bends down to him.
"'The pen is mightier than the sword. Then how did we get here, my God? (My God)'" "*coughs more* Who…*gasping for breath* Who.. are...You?" The major says before the rift is complete. "'Sail among liars Blame the deniers If history is dead and gone Then how did we get here, my God? (My God)'" The shadow figure shows his face and says "I'm Pheonix" The gunslinger puts his finger on the trigger.
"MAJOR!" The rift is done and officer Seri appears. Then * loud gunshot is fire*
"'So you wanna start a war In the age of icons So you wanna be immortal With a loaded gun'" The music ends. Pheonix grabs the relic from the dead major's body. Aiming the gun at Officer Seri. Till "PHEONIX BORN HAS RISEN" A very loud voice shouts those words above Pheonix.
