Nothing about Franny's feelings were right in any sense. They were family. She was her family.
To mature is to fade away;
the dancing, repeating days
Ever since childhood Franny's best friend has always been Billie. It was since childhood as well,
that Franny has had interesting feelings towards Billie, and now that they were family, these
feelings had only gotten weirder.
Look back again with nothing but eyes of sorrow
Did Franny see Billie as an in-law? Absolutely not.
Did she see Billie as her best friend? That's what Franny wants to think.
If I reach out a hand like this it seems like it will melt
Franny went to the train room, the place Billie hung out most in the house, with the intentions to
just check up on her.
My heart alone would fall through the air
There she was. Billie was sitting on top of her prized train with her legs crossed and her hands
in between them. She appeared to be daydreaming.
It's resounding
Flowing into the beyond
"Hey there." Franny calmly said, trying to get the attention of the brunette.
Billie heard this and looked her way.
Because you are already alone in the skies of the heavens
I am unable to touch your hand
Billie crawled to the edge of the train and jumped to the ground perfectly on her feet like a cat.
"Hey Franny. What's up?" Billie greeted her friend and relative
Blurring, if your figure turns out to be a lie
Will I be unable to do what is reflected in your eyes?
"I just wanted to see how you were doing." Franny said. "It looked like you were thinking about
something up there."
Lit-up shadows dyed my shoulders
"Was I? I didn't think you would notice." Billie chuckled, scratching the back of her head
"Yeah. Must've been deep if I was able to notice that." Franny giggled
Picture this sky again
"It-it was actually nothing to worry about."
Billie was starting to look uncomfortable from being questioned about her thoughts. This wasn't
normal for Billie since she always speaks what's on her mind.
"Are you sure?" Franny asked
"Yes. Nothing special."
Because this large world will shine brightly,
The small me will just vanish
Whatever Billie was thinking about, she didn't want to talk about it.
"It's just, you greatly impacted the music industry with your singing frogs."
"Yes, I can admit to that."
"Now look at me." Billie said "What have I done for society?"
If I keep my eyes shut like this, it seems like things will stop
"All I've done for this family was play with my trains." Billie sighed, "I don't think I'll ever be as
amazing and talented as you Franny."
Quietly, ticking time would pass
"But you are amazing, that's why I love you."
It's resounding
Being lost into the beyond
Franny didn't catch herself in time. Those three words were already out, and she couldn't take
them back. She only hoped that Billie wouldn't take those words as Franny intended them to be.
The you who is looking up at a sky where I do not exist
In that chest, what was left behind?
"Do you really think so?" Billie asked looking back at Franny
Dancing, things like these words and color-changing thoughts
Are they unable to do the things reflected in your eyes?
"I truly do." Franny said, smiling
Billie then wrapped her arms around Franny, giving her a tight hug.
Having shown dreams to a pale night
"I love you too." Billie muttered
Picture this sky again
The two of them both looked each other in the eyes, and dived in for a kiss. It was quite
unexpected of course, but nonetheless it was a sweet moment for both of them. The kiss was
soft, and had a pepperminty taste to it. It was wrong, but in that moment, both girls felt love for
eachother.
If the seasons will always keep passing
Looking back into faraway memories
The center of myself who nobody knows, I'll hide it
The moment they pulled away, all the tenderness of their kiss had ended, and both of them
realized what they had just done.
"No, this isn't going to work." Franny sighed
The world advances while knowing lies
Because I can't live on alone
"What's not going to work?" Billie asked
"Us…"
"I know that..."
I can hear it
Resounding into the beyond
Even if things had gone differently in the past, just the idea of Franny and Billie being together
didn't resonate well with either of them. There was a moment of awkward and uncomfortable
silence.
Because you are just one person in the skies of the heavens
You can't protect anything anymore
Franny was the first to break the silence.
"Even if we can't be together, thank you for being my best friend, Billie."

"I'm just glad to be there with you." Billie spoke softly

The two of them fell into a compassionate embrace once again. Though they'll never be lovers,
at least they were family, and family was all that mattered.
