A subtle thumping sound resonated throughout her skull. It was a powerful sound that she only recently became aware of. It was consistent, calming, pleasing to hear. She wriggled around within her confines, a sudden realization of the darkness that engulfed her. There was a permeating warmth above her, and an almost chilly sensation beneath her, something she found quite distasteful. She squirmed about, an odd sensation coiled around her. It felt new yet familiar, a bizarre presentation as she felt the substance move whenever she moved, following her, clawing at her.
It wasn't long before she became uncomfortable with her situation, her head moving towards the subtle heat from above. She felt something else bump against her nose, another sensation that she felt like she knew but couldn't recall. She continued to nuzzle at it, trying to rip past it to reach the delightful, radiating warmth.
Suddenly there was a vibrant wash of overwhelming light and heat, her eyes closing shut tightly as she drew her head back and away from the entirely new additions to her environment. She curled in on herself, trying to return to the darkness and failing. With time, the detestable brightness and the undesirable heat almost felt normal, comforting, leading her to open her eyes and take a peek through the hole that she had created.
Before doing anything else, she brought her nose up to the crevice of light and poked it through. She could feel a cool dampness on her muzzle as she flicked out her tongue, a strange array of tastes and scents flooding her senses. She sat and licked at the air for a while, studying her surroundings.
Once some instinctual presence informed her that wherever she was was safe, she pushed the rest of her head through the tear, liquid pouring out all around her as her eyes adjusted to the light. It was a calming warmth, delightfully running throughout her entire body.
She looked around at her surroundings as she noticed there was a reddish glow across everything in sight, including the many rounded objects that surrounded her that almost seemed to pulse with life. A curiosity grew inside her as she decided to explore, squeezing the rest of her body through the exit of her own once rounded home.
She let her tongue move in and out of her mouth, taking in her surroundings once again now that she could see. She crawled her way towards one of the pulsing objects, her eyes glittering with wonder. She climbed on top of it, feeling something wriggle about beneath the surface causing her to jostle a bit from the unsteady object. She leaned her head against the surface, listening for something, anything, only for a sudden, sharp object to protrude next to her head and startle her. She slipped off of the object as a little nose began to protrude followed by a forked tongue catching the air just as she had done moments before.
She turned away to explore one of the other objects, slithering across and crawling between many of them as she sought to view every corner of her new environment. As she moved about the enclosure, weaving in and out of the heated light and her tongue guiding her, she felt herself bump into something soft. She looked up to see what she had run into, assuming to find one of the round objects, only to spot something else entirely; a being with smooth, gentle scales that were hard to make out the true color of due to the reddish lighting from above. Furthermore, this creature had four thick limbs that lay on the ground and a tail that was long and elegant trailing far behind. The entity stared down at her with large, slit pupil eyes as it stuck out its own tongue just as she did. They each sniffed and tasted one another instinctually before parting ways to continue their own explorations.
Just as she was about to go another round of identifying all the areas in her enclosure, a loud, unnatural sound came from above before something massive came her way; a dark object that blotched out the warm radiating light from above and possessed an intimidating and somewhat threatening aura about it. She froze in place as the thing neared her, her eyes widened in terror as it wrapped around her with a gentle yet firm grasp to prevent her from escaping, pinning her limbs almost painfully to her sides. That gentle thumping sensation from the very beginning of her consciousness had sped up and it felt like it was in her throat in an incredibly unusual and frightful way. She wriggled about, horrified about what was happening without any knowledge of what could happen, just the tingling instinct in her stomach telling her to run, to flee, to escape immediately otherwise something terrible would happen.
Whatever was holding her had a softness to it unlike anything in the enclosure and a discomforting, pulsating heat that might have been tasteful from something smaller but was traumatizing from something much bigger than her. After attempting many times to crawl out of its grasp, she was face to face with something much bigger than her sibling from before. Instead of familiar scales there was something else there, a soft texture like that of whatever was holding her. The facial features were also unsettling with eyes about as big as her head, a massive, almost flat nose, and two large, rounded objects towards the sides. It was all so odd and off putting to her that she opened her jaws and released a hiss as loud as she could make it, trying to threaten the entity before her.
Instead of retreating, the being only got closer as it released a low, rumbling chuckle as if laughing at her attempt to appear intimidating. It then released another sound that was unintelligible, something that couldn't be identified on instinct alone. Right after these sounds were emitted, something else warm and fluffy grabbed both her head, pointing it straight upwards, and her tail, dragging it straight downwards, making for an incredibly uncomfortable situation for her as she was forcefully pulled in two different directions. Something else was brought out, long and slender just as she was and placed right up against her so that it rubbed uncomfortably, coldly, and almost with a sharp sensation against her scales. She attempted to squirm her way out of this even more than before as the situation became almost painful. It wasn't long before she was released by the two new objects not long after pinning her into that wretched position in the first place, her body feeling drained of all energy as she had struggled against it all the entire time.
After that fear filled situation had ended, she could feel a slight breeze whistle past her in an upwards direction as she was being placed back down within the enclosure. Once she was free, she slithered about in search for a place to hide even though she knew there would only be an open world around her. After a round about the environment, she finally settled down by one of the small, rounded objects almost as if to become hidden while knowing that she was still open to being spotted by whatever beings lurked above.
As she was sitting still, calming down after the wretched situation, she watched as each of her siblings were whisked out of the enclosure just as she had been. Some of them tried to crawl away, others hissed and nipped at the entities from above, while others froze in place. The stench of fear filled the enclosure, making her sick to her stomach as it heated up and felt like it was going to rise into her throat. She swiftly shut her eyes as if to try and block out all that she was sensing while shaking her head in discomfort, her mind fuzzy with terror.
It wasn't long before each of her siblings had gone through just what she had gone through until there was an uncomfortable calm that settled in the environment, the warm, consistent heat from above the only way to aid in settling everyone's nerves.
Once most everyone had settled down some, most went about exploring again or interacting with each other while others attempted to hide as she was. Every now and then, one of her siblings would come up in greeting, sniffing and licking at her in curiosity. She would have returned the greeting, but she was still far too stressed to bother as her stomach continued to ache with anxiety. Something was off and she wasn't sure what, all she knew was that if those things from before could get in once and disrupt the peace, they could surely do it again.
Just as she had thought, this peace did not last. Once each and every oblong object in the enclosure had been sliced open, deflated, and released its own slender, elongated beings, the entities from above returned. The things snatched up every last one of her siblings, this time not returning them to the enclosure. This made her panic as she attempted to find a better spot to hide, so that she didn't have to be pulled out of this little sanctuary, but there was nowhere to hide and she knew that. Her skin was crawling as she could feel the thumping return to her throat, her eyes wide and filled with horror and anxiety as a stabbing sensation entered her stomach, clawing at her innards. She could feel herself choking on her own shallow, rapid breathing as her mind raced without any idea as to what was to become of her.
She was swiftly swept up by the creatures the same way as before, though with a bit of a different interaction. While she wasn't pulled in two different directions, she wasn't returned to the warmth of the environment below either. Instead, something new and even more traumatizing than before was coming as her head was suddenly grabbed and held still against her will. The sensation felt tight as the feeling of dread settled over her, her mind blank from the adrenaline.
She did everything to squirm out of the grasp, even released a few fowl hisses in an attempt to intimidate her foe, only to have something massive and pointed slowly aimed towards her neck, the thumping sensation at full force as she felt like she was going to be sick with bile building up and stinging her throat. It gradually grew closer as all she could do was look on in horror as one of the objects from before held the new thing in place.
Eventually it reached her and pierced through her skin, forcing her to release an agonized, high pitched scream. It was the most pain she had ever felt in her life, a hot burning sensation that was also a cold burning sensation at the same time. She squirmed about in pain as she could feel something large, tough, and foreign enter beneath her skin, creating a small, uncomfortable, throbbing lump.
Her head was eventually released as she could suddenly feel air flowing quickly and coldly against her scales as she was taken away from the only place she knew. This enhanced her terror as she struggled to breathe, looking back at her sanctuary that she feared she would never see again. In replacement, she was brought to some place, though larger in size, that was not as welcoming. She was placed onto open, freezing cold flooring, something that immediately made her begin shivering as she curled in on herself to try and warm up.
It was all happening so fast and she couldn't keep up with it as her head felt light and she was drowning in her own blurred state. Once she realized that the entrance to her new environment was sealed shut as a loud thud indicated this, she began to weep as she gently touched the painful lump in the right side of her neck, too scared to scratch at it out of fear that it would be even more painful than it already was. Her tears slid warmly against her face as she wished for this same level of heat to pulse throughout her body, but she had no idea if she'd ever feel that again, if she'd ever feel safe again.
It wasn't long before she put her guard up, jumping at every little sound outside her cold, quiet, desolate environment, her mind racing and filled with only the single emotion of terror as her innards continued to twist and knot up inside her. She didn't trust nor get attached to anything around her as everything she knew before was swiftly ripped away from her unexpectedly and replaced with nothing but misery as she had been given pain and suffering.
As she continued to cry in fear and agony, her breathing shallow and hiccups escaping her lips every now and again, she tried distracting herself underneath the unnaturally bright white lighting from above by studying her scales; they were evenly spaced, oblong, and rounded in shape without any sort of patterning to them. She realized that they were also the warmest looking thing in this pure white environment as she noticed a subtly visible pale yellow against a white underbelly. She hugged her tail with her thick limbs, hoping some of the warm coloration on her scales would rub off and heat her up as tears continued to stream down her cheeks as she shut her eyes and fell into an unrestful slumber.
