What if Katniss had a twin? What if 3 people went to the 74th hunger games? Oaklen Everdeen is extremly shy, loves writting and is the polar opposite of her twin? What happens when she goes to the Hunger games?

1. The reaping

Spoiler alert: this goes through the hunger games story. Hopefully I can do all 3 books. So there WILL be spoilers. I might prevent certain deaths and stuff so not all of it is actually what happens but plenty is so if you haven't finished the trilogy just beware.

Oaklen Everdeen rolled over in bed to find that her sister Katniss was sitting up in bed. She looked over at the other bed and saw her mother and younger sister, Primrose, we call her Prim for short, asleep still. Most people slept in on reaping day. I tapped my sister and we silently communicated to get dressed quickly because Katniss wanted to go hunting this morning. Me and my sister aren't exactly what you would call normal. If somebody tries to move us or if we try to move us more then 10 feet away from each other we get pulled back towards each other. The doctors think if we were both held down in a way that we couldn't get pulled either one or both of us would die so we just stay together. The other thing that makes us different is we can talk to each other through our minds. Don't get me wrong, we can read minds or anything and we can't communicate with anyone just each other. It requires us to stare at each other in concentration, but since we're always together it's not the hard.

People assume we just are best friends who can't bare to be apart. Which is true. I don't think I could ever be without her even if I could and we are best friends but we don't like to go around saying. We've got magical powers!! Because then somebody might freak out.

Our dad died when we were 11 and ever since then Katniss has taken over feeding our family, I go with her too hunt but like Prim I can't kill animals. So I gather plants some times but most of the time I write. The way I entertain myself during those long days is I write. I write story's of all different kinds of things and sell them at the hob. Sometimes I sell them for someone else's story. Sometimes to buy food. So today I dressed quickly in an outfit for walking, grab my notebook that I write in and my favorite pen,then me and Katniss hurried outside. Nobody was outside yet, not even the flow of miners heading to the mines. It's reaping day, so most people try to sleep in even though most can't. We slip under the fence, grab Katnisses bow and arrow then hurry to the spot where we meet Gale Katnisses best friend. Katniss pulls out a piece of cheese Prims goat made. When Gale shows up the two of them talk and eat breakfast, I eat too. Then they start hunting. I follow behind for a few hours writing as I walk. Then we hurry out. They trade at the Hob and then we run home to dress up, for the reaping.

The reaping is a system where a boy and a girls name is drawn, they only choose kids ages 12-18. The kids are sent to The Hunger games. A game where 24 kids go in and only one come out. There are 12 districts in Panem and each provide two tributes. I was nervous as always about the reaping, especially because this is Prims first year in the reaping. Me and Katniss refused to let her get any tesserae but still. A tesserae is an extra entry in the reaping for a supply of oil and grain. Me and Katniss are legally one person so on our slips of paper it says Katniss and Oaklen Everdeen.

My mother puts out a blue lace dress and a matching one in yellow for me. Then she braids our hair to match and we head out. My best friend Madge Undersee runs over to me. She's the mayors daughter and she was wearing a pretty purple dress. "Oak! Oak!" She calls, she runs over and waits for me to let her know which one of us is me then she gives me a big hug. Another super annoying thing is that no matter what we do me and Katniss are identical, like so identical that absolutely no one can tell us apart, not our best friends, not our parents, not our sister. Only we know. My mother of course always makes us wear matching clothes but she always picks two different colors so she can tell us apart.

Effie Trinket walks up to the stage and pulls the name from the girls ball. I clench Katnisses hand and then the unexpected happens. Something nobody could've seen coming. Something horrific and horrible and terrible. She calls the name, "Primrose Everdeen"
