Finally Lexie had managed to read several pages of the book she brought on her last shore leave, which had taken forever to do and now she was enjoying a peaceful sleep. She just hoped that she wasn't going to get woken up like she did the last time she had fallen asleep (in her own bed anyway), but it seemed like that wasn't going to be the case as she was once again woken up by her communicator bleeping loudly. At least this time Lexie didn't fall out of bed before being able to reach it, "Smith here." "Hey lass, I need your helped down in Engineering."

The familiar voice said, Lexie really wanted to say no but she couldn't really do that. Scotty was her commanding officer after all, "OK Scotty, I'll be down there in a couple of minutes." She replied before snapping her communicator shut, she couldn't believe it, she had been woken up. Again! Lexie slowly got from her bed and went to change back into her uniform, "I knew I should have just went to sleep in uniform." She muttered angrily to herself as she walked back into the main room while trying to put her hair up.

It was then when Delta woke up, "What's going on Lex?" He asked sleepily. "No idea Delta, go back to sleep, I'll be back soon." Lexie told him as she kissed him on the head, almost instantly the robot returned to his slumber while Lexie walked out of her room. She was trying to figure out what was so important that the Scotsman had dragged her out of bed, but knew she could just ask him when she got to Engineering. When Lexie finally made it down to Engineering she pulled out her communicator, "Scotty, where are you exactly?"

"Down at the Dilithium chambers lass." Scotty replied. Lexie placed her communicator back onto her belt as she began to walk towards her destination, still trying to work out why she had been called down here. Lexie soon arrived to see Scotty standing next to the Dilithium chambers, just by the look on his face Lexie could tell something was up. "Thanks for coming lass, sorry to drag ya out of bed." Lexie stared at him, "It's alright Scotty, now what's the problem and why can't Keenser help you?" "Umm… Keenser is the problem."

Lexie just blinked, "What do you mean Keenser's the problem? Where is he?" She asked when suddenly she heard a grunt from underneath the Chamber. Confused Lexie got down on the floor and looked under it and couldn't believe what she saw, laying on his front under the chamber was Keenser. The Engineer looked at her, a slightly panicked look in his eyes which worried Lexie. "You alright?" She asked softly, Keenser shook his head. A question then popped into Lexie's mind, why was he still laying under the chamber?

She could only think of one possible answer, "Are you stuck?" Keenser sadly whimpered. Lexie couldn't believe it as she sat up and looked at Scotty, "How even?" Scotty shrugged his shoulders. "I ain't got the foggiest lass, he's been under there hundreds of times and he's never had any issues." "Have you tried to get him out?" Lexie questioned, "Aye, but I couldn't. That's why I called you, hoping you would help." Lexie smiled. "Of course I will." She then laid back down and shuffled under the chamber, it was only a small space so there wasn't much room.

After shuffling a little under the chamber Lexie placed her hand on Keenser's, "Don't worry, you'll be out of here in no time." She said reassuringly. Keenser gave her a little nod, "Ready Scotty?" "Aye lass." Scotty replied as he grabbed hold of Lexie's ankles, as Scotty pulled on her ankles Lexie pulled on Keenser's hand. But the little guy didn't move, instead he whimpered in what seemed to be pain, so Lexie and Scotty stopped. Scotty laid down on the floor so he could see him, "Sorry wee man, didn't mean to hurt ya." Keenser grunted in reply.

Lexie was just about to speak when she heard a familiar voice call out, "Scotty, what's going on? Who the hells under there?" The Scotsman looked up to see Kirk standing beside him. "Jim, what are you doing down here?" "I just came for a wander, is that Lexie under there?" Kirk questioned as he pointed at the pair of legs which were sticking out, "Hello Kirk, its me." She replied. "Do I want to know what's happening or not?" Kirk asked nervously as Lexie slowly wriggled her way out from under the chamber, "Possibly, but you can help us." Lexie stated.

Kirk stared blankly at her, "So what happened that you need my help?" "Keenser got himself stuck…" Scotty said slowly. "What? How? On second thoughts don't tell me, let's just get the poor guy out." Scotty nodded as he stood up and Lexie wriggled under the chamber once again, Keenser gave her a sad whine. "You're gonna be fine bud, promise." Now with the aid of Kirk, they tried once more to pulled the little alien out, but still he didn't move. "What in god's name are you lot doing?!"

Kirk and Scotty turned to see none other than McCoy standing there, his arms folded as normal, "Keenser got himself stuck under the Dilithium Chamber." Stated Kirk. McCoy then pointed at the legs which were poking out, "Then who the hell is that?!" "Oh that's just Lexie." Scotty said with a small smile. "Is that McCoy I can hear?" Lexie questioned, "Who else would it dam be!" Kirk let go of Lexie's ankle. "Are you just going to stand there or are you going to help us Bones?" McCoy rolled his eyes before replying, "Well I wasn't going to just walk away now was I." He stated as he grabbed a hold of Lexie's ankle.

After several minutes, the guys were finally able to pull Keenser out from his predicament which he was more than a little happy about. "There we go wee man." Scotty said as he helped Lexie to her feet, "Are you hurt?" Lexie asked sweetly. Keenser shook his head, "No, Thanks." He said as he looked at each of them. "No problem Keenser, just don't do that again." Kirk said as he patted the Engineer on the shoulder, Scotty was in agreement with Kirk and so was McCoy (for once). McCoy insisted that Keenser came with him up to sick bay, just for a look over but the Engineer said he just wanted to go to bed.

According to Lexie he looked shattered and according to Scotty she didn't look much better, "Well I have been disturbed the last few times I fell asleep." Lexie stated as she yawned. Lexie soon had headed back to bed while Kirk had returned to the bridge, leaving McCoy and Scotty alone. "Did you tell her that she call you dad?" McCoy asked, Scotty shook his head. "Not yet, I'm just not sure how she's gonna react." McCoy placed a hand on his friends shoulder, "You won't know until ya do it." Scotty knew he was right, so he planned on telling Lexie soon. He just hoped she wouldn't react badly.
