Hey, who here is a Sly Cooper fan? Who enjoyed the games back in the day before Sanzaru Games fucked things up with Sly 4? Well, here I am to bring Sly Cooper back in this glorious retelling with quite a few new twists and turns courtesy of adding my OC into the mix!

Also, for this story, both humans and anthro animals coexist together to better explain how my OC fits in with the story.

With all that out of the way, let's begin!

On the rooftops of Paris, two figures dashed from building to building, moving like fluid shadows before leaping onto the top of Interpol Headquarters. The first figure stepped into the light. He was an anthropomorphic raccoon with grey fur, black stripes on his tail, and a natural mask with brown eyes. His ensemble consisted of a black mask, blue elbow-sleeved shirt with a yellow collar, blue boots, blue gloves with yellow cuffs, and a blue cap. Around his waist was a belt with the buckle shaped in the form of a white and blue raccoon face.

Pulling up a type of high-tech pair of binoculars, he put them to his eyes as the second figure walked up behind him. He was a human boy with pale white skin, curly black hair that reached his neck, and hazelnut-colored eyes. His ensemble consisted of a black ankle-length tailcoat, a high-necked waistcoat with gold accents, black pants, brown-black winklepickers, and a pair of red gloves. Over his eyes was a black and white birdlike domino mask.

(A/N: Basically, he's wearing the attire of Joker from Persona 5)

As the first figure listened in through his binoculars, the second figure put two fingers to a hidden earpiece placed in his ear.

"SLY! BEN! COME IN! DO YOU READ ME!"

"We read you, Bentley. Loud and...well, very loud!" Sly winced as Ben tapped his head a few times to get the ringing out.

"Sorry, I'm a little nervous. Breaking into police headquarters does that." The nasal voice of a green turtle with thick brown eyebrows and glasses apologized.

"Get over it, Bentley. You're safe in the van. We're the thieves here-we've got to steal that file from Inspector Carmelita Fox!"

"Well count on me to be your eyes and ears, you guys. Got their security system totally scoped. To get inside, you're both gonna have to go through that air vent."

Sly and Ben looked towards the air vent in question and nodded their heads.

"Alright, we're going in!"

Soon, another voice chimed in through the binoculars and earpiece, belonging to a rotund pink hippo wearing goggles, a yellow scarf, and a blue shirt.

"And don't forget you've got me at the wheel, you guys! All you guys gotta do is grab the file and get back to the van! We'll do the rest!"

"Just keep that engine purring, Murray. We'll be down in no time." Ben said as he and Sly then winked at each other before moving stealthily across and to the air vent, crawling through and into the police station, narrowly dodging the security lasers before breaking the alarm system and sneaking through the hallways to find the room they were looking for.

"Alright! This is Inspector Carmelita Fox's office! Let's get the goods and go!" Ben said as he reached for the lock, only to get a nasty electric shock that sent him flying back.

"Drat! Inspector Fox must have anticipated people trying to break in! Perhaps there's another way inside?" Bentley said as Sly noticed the open window, which he snuck through as Ben, after recovering, followed after him. The two then made their way through the window leading into the office and found a large vault.

"Lemme handle this, Sly." Ben said as he approached the vault and pressed his ear to it, hearing the lock gears turning as he moved through the combinations before smirking as he found the right one and opened the door, revealing the police files on Sly Cooper, his family, and everything else.

"Nice job, you got it!" Murray's voice cheered. "If you two head down through the fire escape and head through the parking lot, we'll be waiting in the van!"

Ben handed the file to Sly, who gave him a thankful smile as he stashed it in his backpack before taking out a calling card and placing it where the file was. The two then began moving through the fire escape, only for a voice to shout out towards them.

"Criminals!"

The two looked to see an anthropomorphic fox with brownish-orange fur, a beauty mark under her left eye, and thick, wavy dark blue hair with bangs tied in a braid by a gold hairband. Her outfit consisted of a dark blue midriff-baring top that zips in the front, form-fitting dark blue pants, and a choker from which the INTERPOL badge hung. She wore a light brown leather jacket and yellow gloves. She also had a golden hoop piercing on the top of her left ear and long dark brown combat boots with blue laces.

"Ah, the lovely Carmelita Fox. We haven't seen you since we gave you the slip in Bombay." Sly said with a flirtatious smirk as Ben chuckled silently behind him.

Carmelita, however, was not having any of it. "Which reminds me; You need to return the Fire Stone of India to its rightful owners."

"Come on, even you knew those assholes who previously owned it were slave traders. We just relieved them of their most prized possession...and their pride." Ben smirked darkly as he twirled a serrated combat knife between his fingers.

Sly ignored his friends' comment as he kept his focus on Carmelita. "You know, that bazooka really brings out the color of your eyes."

"It's a SHOCK PISTOL, Sly..." Ben pointed out with a blank look, only to get flicked over the head by his friend in response.

"At least one of you has eyes." Carmelita sarcastically said. "This pistol packs a paralyzing punch, you outta try it. Might break you both out of your crime spree."

"Come on, woman! You know damn well that Sly wants to get up in that-" Ben said before Sly urgently slapped a hand over his mouth and shook his head.

"Don't ruin it, buddy."

"Sorry..." Ben muffled before the two decided to make their escape, running down the fire escape as Carmelita opened fire on them, the electric bolts just barely missing them. Soon, they saw the Getaway Van, which they immediately dove into through the back as they quickly closed the doors before a blast from Carmelita's gun could hit them.

"GO! GO! GO!" Ben cried as Murray punched the ignition and the van drove off down the Paris streets.

"You can't escape me, Raccoon!" Carmelita cursed, shaking her fist angrily at the retreating vehicle.

*SLY POV*

Once again, My gang and I had given Inspector Carmelita Fox the slip. I'm surprised to see how well she took it. I took out the police file from my backpack and smirked. It was finally in my hands after all these years. With it, I could avenge the death of my family and take back possession of our most valued treasure.

I sighed as I thought back to when I was just a little kid, bouncing on my fathers' knee. I came from a long line of master thieves who kept all their records of Robin Hood-esque stealing in an ancient book known as the Thievius Raccoonus. Anybody who read it learned all the tricks and skills of the Cooper Clan, which is why we specialize in stealing from criminals. There was just no honor in stealing from ordinary people.

On the night I was supposed to inherit the book, five mysterious visitors arrived unannounced at our door. My father fought to protect us, but the gang overpowered him and my mom and murdered them in cold blood, ransacking our house before they managed to find what they were looking for; The Thievius Raccoonus.

They tore up the book, taking the divided pages between each other and retreating to the farthest corners of the world to use the pages for their own nefarious ends. With no family, I was placed in the town orphanage but thankfully, I ended up meeting my three lifelong friends and trusted crew.

The first was Bentley Wiseturtle. He was the smartest kid I had ever met and was able to come up with all sorts of crazy plans that we could follow on. He was also practically a god with technology and all things science-related.

The second was Murray Hippo. He may not be very smart, but he had a big heart and a passion for justice. He was always more than happy to be the muscle when things got dicey for us and was also a skilled driver.

Finally, there was Ben Shigura. Like me, he came from a family of thieves, but his parents died saving him from a corrupt politician's suicide attack. Despite this, he was clever, witty, crafty, and skilled. He was able to do all sorts of things thanks to teachings from his parents before they died.

The three of them turned out to be all the family I needed and now, we're ready to work together to steal back the Thievius Raccoonus and avenge my parents by taking down their murderers; The Fiendish Five!

I know this will be the toughest test of my life. I could either become a master thief like my ancestors before me or fail and allow my family name to bite the dust.

However, looking at my friends, I had a feeling that they'd be with me every step of the way. And that's something I knew I could count on, no matter what.

This will cover all four Sly games but due to the presence of Ben, there will be quite a few changes made. I don't want to spoil anything, but you might be surprised by what you see.

This story also has some inspiration from A Human Among Animal Thieves by jumbochamploonrules and Dressed to Steal by Tatsurou on Fimficiton.

Also, one more thing; Do any of you think a Persona 5/Sly Cooper crossover would be awesome?
