Helen's eyes widened as soon as a Null Guardian flew to her. She was barely able to dodge its fangs as it snapped at her. She turned to Manny while he used two arms to seize another Null Guardian's wings. Almost like he prepared to tear the wings. Helen heard the creature's shriek. Watched it writhe. Her eyes remained wide.
''Don't hurt the Null Guardian, Manny.''
''The Null Guardians are D'Void's animals. They're our enemies. We have to protect everyone in the Null Void from them,'' Manny said
with one scowl.
Helen began to look ahead. Her eyes settled on D'Void after he appeared with a handful of other Null Guardians. They were wide again.
D'Void focused on Manny while he glowered. ''Hurting one of my pets?'' he muttered.
''You found us?'' Helen asked in a tone of disbelief.
D'Void nodded.
After Helen glanced from D'Void to the Null Guardian Manny attempted to harm, she raced to it. Her tail struck one of Manny's hands before he cried out. She watched as the Null Guardian was eventually released and flew into D'Void's arms. She viewed his smile.
Manny scowled again. ''What did you just do, Helen?!''
''I'll spare your life... for now. As for the one responsible for hurting my pet?'' D'Void started to glance at the other Null Guardians. He nodded before they screeched and attacked Manny.
''Are you going to help any other Null Guardians?'' Manny asked as he fled with Helen.
There wasn't a reply.
