Konoha

Two months before Naruto Entered the academy

Chains jangled and clanked as arms swung out to block a thrown bottle the two boys the bottle had been aimed for looked up at the back of their saviour. Covered head to toe in dark jingling chains the person looked back at the boys.

"Are you hurt?" he asked, his voice was old and raspy

"N-no sir" the older boy said, his spiked blonde hair mirrored by his little brother who definitely tried to hide tears.

"Liar" the chain clad stranger said and turned to look at the gathered group "And what did two boys do to deserve the drunken rage of a village?"

"The younger one is secretly a demon!" one called from the crowd "He holds the Kyuubi inside him"

"He'll kill us all!" another chimed in as the crowd riled themselves up.

"My brother isn't a demon!" The older one said standing up, despite the pain shooting through his obviously broken leg

"Pity" the man said as he swayed side to side "I am quite fond of devils and demons"

The older boy covered his younger brother's eyes on instinct and squeezed his own shut as the sound of screams echoed through the back alleys and causeways. He shuddered as he heard wet squelching and tearing noises that he would soon know as the sound of limbs being torn off mix with the screams and despite his mind telling him not to. The older brother opened his eyes.

There stood a beast made of chains of obsidian that slunk back into itself, blood dripped from the chains slicking the streets and chains in gore. The beast turned and locked eyes with the boy. It sighed.

"Well this certainly makes things difficult" it said and the chains clanked back towards the old man, coiling around his body like snakes and the older boy could swear he saw the chains slip underneath the man's skin. "You two are going to have to come with me, we're going to see your old man"

"You mean the Hokage?" Asked the older boy trying to act brave for his younger brother who was shivering.

"Yup" the old man coughed and sputtered a few moments "come on, While I'm still breathing"

Mizu Uzumaki woke up with a start, the fear of the memory washing away as he grabbed at the blankets around him. The soft rise and fall of the sheets beside him reassured him his Fiancé was still there, his panicked heart rate slowed down as he watched her for a few moments.

"In denial?" a dark voice asked from deep within him "Or finally accepted our contract"

"I accepted our contract the day it was formed" Mizu replied looking at his arm, the chain tattoo's swirled and moved constantly about his right arm all leading to a sealing symbol on his chest "I just…"

"Miss your brother?" the creature finished "but you wonder if he still remembers you."

He didn't answer, instead rising from the bed carefully, and moving to his tiny balcony to look out over the place that was his new home. During the days Onigakure was a foggy place to be, the streets always seemed to be quiet and the sun hardly shone. It was during the night that the small city truly came to life, the sky cleared and from their position in the box canyon the moon and stars shone on the hidden village. Mizu stood watching the stars, noting the brief flashes of a person dashing over the rooftops or the flickering of lights across the sprawling metropolis. He stiffened as he felt arms gently slide around his midriff and wrap around him.

"Mizu" a soft voice called to him from behind and he felt a pair of soft lips along his back, along scars he had gotten long ago "its late"

"I know" he whispered back, relaxing

"We have to get going early" His 'assailant' said softly

"I know Fuu" He said turning to look into those beautiful orange eyes. He leaned in to kiss her , gently planting a kiss on her lips.

"You really miss him huh?" She asked brushing some of his long messy blonde hair out of his face

"He's my brother" He said "Hard not to"

"Its only been four years right?" She said "that's not so bad"

"Yeah I suppose" Mizu sighed and brought her to his side so the two could stare at the village and the stars together "just hope the two of you get along"

"I'm sure it'll be fine!" she tried to reassure him leaning her head against his forearm "we should probably get back to bed though"

"Probably" he replied as neither of them made any move to leave their position.
