Fandango stared intensely into the chocolate brown eyes belonging to the woman in his arms. Her sandy blonde hair was put up in a beautiful hairdo. She wore a long, pink, sparkly dress with a slit that went up dangerously high so her leg and the pink heel could be shown to the camera while they danced.
They had both been brought in to shoot a commercial together. All they had to do was dance. Later a sensual female voice would be put on top saying the name of the perfume. Why this company had chosen to hire a wrestler with a dancing gimmick and a model for this commercial, he had no idea, but he wasn't complaining. He very much enjoyed shooting this commercial with Evette Beck.
She smelled incredibly good. He had asked her between two takes if she was wearing the perfume they were shooting for. She had giggled, shook her head no and winked. It was a secret between them. What perfume she was wearing, he had no idea, but he loved it. What perfume they were shooting for, he had forgotten the name. Something with pink in the title. That he was sure of.
"And cut," the director said. "Thank you. Your chemestry is amazing. So natural. Thank you so much, both of you."
They both thanked the director for hiring them. Fandango started walking back towards the locker room. He felt an arm hook with his, and he knew it was Evette right away. He could smell her. He turned his head and smiled at her.
"You're a good dancer," she said.
"You too," he said.
They stopped in front of his locker room. Her arm slid out of his, and she stepped around him to stand in front of him instead.
"I really enjoyed myself today. You're a funny guy," she said.
"Right back at you," he said. "No wait, you're a funny woman. Not guy. Damn, that came out wrong."
She giggled in return. In that moment he knew he never wanted to go another day without hearing that giggle if he could help it.
"What are your plans tonight?" He asked.
"I was thinking about reading a book," she shrugged. "I don't really feel like doing anything tonight. My feet hurt."
"Oh," he said.
His face dropped and so did hers.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. You were about to ask my out, weren't you?" She asked.
"Yeah," he scratched his neck. "It's okay. I'm not mad."
"Book? Book? What book?" She grinned. "I'd love to."
He broke out in a grin too. She really was the cutest thing.
"But no dancing," she said.
"No dancing," he laughed. "How about a cozy night in instead? I'll bring a family sized pizza so you'll have leftover for days. We can then take a foot bath each, stuff ourselves with pizza, watch a movie and have a nice evening getting to know each other."
"Wow, no one has ever suggested that as a first date," she said. "It sounds absolutely perfect. No pressure to dress up and try to look the correct way in order to make someone interested."
"I'm already interested," he smiled. "No need to try harder."
She giggled again and placed her hand on his chest. Just for a short second but he felt warm inside by the simple touch.
"I'm in," she said. "I'm gonna go shower and get dressed. You can get my number and address afterwards."
He smiled at her and backed into his locker room while she went to hers. As soon as the door closed behind him, he ran to his bag to find his cell phone. He needed to call his best friend Tyler right away.
"Dango!" Tyler said when he answered.
"Breezy!" Fandango laughed. "I met the perfect woman."
"Oh, wow," Tyler chuckled. "I thought you were shooting a commercial."
"I was, and she's fucking perfect, Breeze. We're on for a date tonight," Fandango said.
"Go you!" Tyler cheered.
"Go me," Fandango said.
Fandango smiled at himself in the mirror. His cheeks were red, and he looked like a young man experiencing his first time being in love. Everything just felt right.
"I think..." Fandango started.
"Think what?" Tyler asked.
"No, it's too early to say," Fandango said.
"You think she might be the one," Tyler filled in the blanks. "I sure hope so. You deserve to find love and be happy. Go get her, Dango. Be yourself and you'll win her over in no time. Hell, you probably already won her over without knowing it."
"I hope so," Fandango chuckled. "She's cute, amazing, funny and charming. And she's so pretty in pink. I know it's a stupid thing to tell you but right now that's all I keep seeing in my head. Pretty in pink, dancing with me."
