Rescues were never expected for the PAW Patrol, but they were always prepared for them. Anytime someone called for them they were always ready to spring into action as if they were given a heads up as to what would happen. This would stay true for any problem they solved within Adventure Bay. Even places like Barkingburg could easily rely on the PAW Patrol to help them, and in a pinch. Usually it was simple, the problem being solved in a matter of minutes, maybe hours. Nothing that I just said was true when it comes to what happened to the PAW Patrol in this story, however.

At first, it was a normal day. They got a call from Carlos in the jungle that appeared that they'd just be doing a normal rescue. While exploring an underground temple they'd never seen before, Tracker got stuck in a pile of rubble. He was fine, just stuck. The PAW Patrol went to get them as usual, got him out, and figured it was best to leave the temple. Here's where it gets interesting.

Leaving the underground through the staircase they entered from, the jungle was normal for about three seconds until some massive black figure launched itself through the trees, causing all the trees around to blow as if a huge gust of wind spontaneously happened. Reluctantly, they ran into an open area of the jungle to see if they could spot what it was they just saw, but no luck. It was already too far away to see anything but the fact that it was big. That's not the end of it, right nearby they saw a pup they'd never seen before, one dressed in blue.

"Do you know what in the world that thing is?" Ryder questioned the pup in blue as she appeared to be watching it run away too.

"For the most part yeah, I'm kinda the last living thing able to stop what created it." She replied, focusing on Ryder and the pups now.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Ryder questioned, having not gotten anything close to an answer he expected.

"I guess I could tell you the story, I've got time to kill." She sighed, "There is a sort of disease, if you will, in my world. It is a threat to kill and destroy everything we know in that world. Now, the reason I'm here is both so I wont suffer the same fate, and because this world, is where we elementals hang out. Now that leaves another question, what's an elemental. Well that world was blessed with us... heroes, I guess you could say, and we've all got distinct elemental powers. Earth, wind, fire, darkness, light, electric, and me, water. They all went away, left into a sort of... how do I put this... forever awake and asleep sort of state, I guess? Anyway, I'm the last left around, and we all must be reunited to end the madness going on in our world."

"Uh, okay... Can we help, or is this some impossibly dangerous thing only for you?" Ryder asked, as rescues were his thing, whether it's one person, or a whole other world.

"Y'know, it'd at least be nice to not be alone through this. Even if you are hardly anything more than a meat shield." She surprisingly agreed, "My name's Lielle, and well, I actually only know the location of one of the other elementals, I'm just hoping he knows more."

"Well, we can help you find him! We're the PAW Patrol. I'm Ryder, and this, Marshall, Chase, Zuma, Rocky, Skye, Rubble and Tracker." Ryder introduced him and the pups.

"What about him?" Lielle pointed at Carlos.

"Oh, I'm not coming." Carlos explained.

"Fair enough. Now, PAW Patrol, all I know is he's remotely close to here and nearby some place with a castle of some sort so I've been told." Lielle told them where she was supposed to be, which they just so happened to know the location of.

"I think I might know where that is." Ryder remarked, already feeling helpful to this apparent being of power.

"Are you actually serious right now?" Lielle asked, getting a nod from Ryder, "Just so happen to randomly stumble across some people who could end up completely saving me. About that thing that went passed here by the way, don't worry about it."

After they waved Carlos goodbye, Lielle followed Ryder and the pups to the PAW Patroller that they took to get to the jungle originally and let them drive her to the lookout. They told her about Barkingburg on the way, but it really didn't matter since the castle was really all Lielle knew. They also told Lielle about all of the skills each of the pups had.

They went back to the lookout for the Air Patroller. They didn't actually have to go all the way back there to get it, but they didn't think this would be the only time Lielle would see the place. What's important though is that they got in the Air Patroller and got ready to go to Barkingburg.

While they were going to Barkingburg, the problem was not in Barkingburg. The situation was actually the opposite of what Mission PAW would usually entail, so Ryder actually did not give the pups their Mission PAW gear.

Lielle didn't know exactly where she would find who she was looking for, but she had an idea of what the place he's be looked like. Lielle thought about whether she should go look for it alone or go with Ryder in the pups. On one hand she'd have to come back for the pups anyway, and she knew this to be true. It'd be a faster find to go alone though, as she could use her powers however and not have to worry about the others keeping up.

She eventually just told Ryder to keep driving her around in the Air Patroller, as she didn't know where it was anyway so it'd be best just to have everyone with her. The place she was looking for looked like a stone shrine almost. It was not a place meant to go unseen by man, it was a place meant to go untouched. They made the place too dangerous for any human with a brain to explore, and any one without would perish within.

It wasn't too hard of a find way up in the sky actually, especially with Lielle knowing what she was looking for. The place looked broken and battered, which it was made to look like but it looked worse than it was supposed to. Lielle told them to let her out, to which they obliged.

This was the first time Lielle would show her powers to Ryder and the pups. She knew it might not be the best idea to just show these randoms that she was basically a goddess of sorts, but she was desperate to save her world. As she jumped out of the Air Patroller, right in front of Ryder and the pups, wings of water each the size of Lielle herself formed on her back and she began flying around the shrine.

This was obviously a surprise, but not as much as it would've been if Lielle hadn't already told them she was the water elemental. They stayed undeterred though, and eventually Lielle would tell them to come to where she was. There was sort of a lip on the back of the shrine that had a doorway sort of opening on the inside, Lielle flew back into the Air Patroller and told them that this is where they needed to go.

"That was so cool!" Skye cheered to Lielle.

"Yeah, now, we're lucky that this one isn't a gauntlet. I actually know this one's location because it's not a gauntlet, that's why we remember this one's location best. That being said, all of the others will be gauntlets if we can get to them, so don't think they'll all be as easy as this one." Lielle explained, getting confirmation from all the pups that they will not.

"So we can get over there the fun way, or the simple way." Lielle smiled, "I can shoot you over there safely, or, you can just fly over there with your jetpacks or whatever."

All of the pups immediately agreed to do it the fun way. All but Rocky.

"Uh, actually, I'm fine with not getting wet. Thank you." Rocky nervously smiled.

"I can fly you down there without getting you wet if that's a problem with you." Lielle sighed, and Rocky agreed.

"Alright, position the plane so that the opened back is facing the shrine. Once that happens, you all come one by one to me." Lielle told them, and once the Air Patroller was positioned Zuma was up first.

Lielle had Zuma stand in a specific area near the back, and a small spire of water under him to shoot him up for a second. As he was up on the spire, she shot a big blast of water that shot him with perfect trajectory right to the lip they needed to be on. Before he landed, Lielle made a large cube of water for Zuma to safely land in, followed by her removing the cube and Zuma having safely landed on the shrine.

It was both terrifying and fun to do this. All of the pups lined up and got sent safely to the shrine the same way Zuma was. Once Rocky was the last one left, he was given a different journey to the shrine.

Lielle told Rocky to get on her back, to which he obliged. Lielle's way of getting Rocky to the shrine the fun way while still keeping him dry was much simpler than everyone else's way of getting there. Lielle gave herself those water wings again, then propelled herself forward in a way that Rocky would go flying towards the shrine. Lielle then immediately began flying out of the Air Patroller herself and managed to catch Rocky before he landed. Flying him safely down to the shrine, everyone was safely on the shrine. Everyone but Ryder, who'd simply fly down in his jetpack.

"That was amazing Lielle!" Marshall exclaimed.

"We aren't emotionless heroes, we like to have fun now and again." Lielle smiled.

"Now, in there we'll find Marduk, who is the darkness elemental." Lielle said, walking through the doorway into the room.

There was a sort of red field preventing them from getting to Marduk, and likely preventing Marduk from getting to them. There was a circle in the middle of the field that was clearly important for something. Lielle would tell them what it was important for.

"So, to let Marduk out, somebody needs to touch and hold the middle of the circle." Lielle began, getting interrupted by Rocky doing it as soon as she said that.

"Uh, you should've let me finish..." Lielle solemnly said to Rocky as a flash happened and the field disappeared.

"The one who destroys the forcefield is given a curse that will eventually take over and kill whoever contracts it." Lielle explained, "However, if we unite all of us elementals we can stop that. And, well, someone had to do it, and I'm an elemental so if it kills me it kills anyone else."

"It's a risk we had to make anyway." Rocky replied, clearly having fear in his voice.

"So, I'm the one that has to wake Marduk up, so stand back." Lielle said, walking into the area the red field had originally prevented them from going.

Marduk was not visible but it was obvious the place he was intended to be was on the pedestal that was behind the red field before. Lielle walked behind the pedestal, put her paws on it and it began glowing blue. This blue eventually covered the whole room to where it was nearly impossible to see anything. Once it went away, they saw Marduk, a pup dressed in all black.

"Welcome back, Marduk." Lielle said to him with a smile.
