It hadn't been so easy this time. Most of the time she was able to slip in and out without disturbing anything and too much of a fight. It would normally be hours before the police or the pros found out anything. But of course, everything couldn't always be so perfect. Sometimes things wouldn't tip in her favor and she would have to adjust for a better outcome. And this time it was far too close of a call for her. Maybe it was the brief scream overheard by some neighbors. Or maybe some other pros were watching the man. Whatever the mistake was, Katano couldn't concern herself with it at the moment. Her main focus was slipping back into the dark and shaking off the two heroes that chased after her. A task easier said than done at the moment. While it would have been easier to just let her wings do their job and fly to the top of a tall building, some of the openings between buildings were slightly too narrow for her to move without clipping one her wings.

Was the kill justified? In her mind it was. And she was sure that in the mind of most others, it was justified but for different reasons. But in the eyes of the law and the pro heroes it wasn't. The man had been a drug dealer. It wasn't something she wasn't used to. It was a world she found herself in far too often for her own liking. Sometimes money was money and she was happy to do nearly anything. Kept her occupied too. The issue wasn't the prices or the quality of whatever drug that was being sold. No, that didn't matter to her one bit. In reality, she could care less about the whole situation but the payoff was great for her. Betrayal dug deep for her and she could understand why someone would go to such drastic measures to make sure it never happened again. Being screwed over was like a slap to the face and the sting took too long to go away. While she hadn't paid much attention to the details of the story, she did get the jist of it and that was good enough for her. The man was supposed to take the batch of the drugs, sell it, and return the money. Straightforward. But the money never got back to where it was supposed to. And it wasn't a small amount. Her job? Get the money, kill the man, come back. Easy enough.

Or so she thought. A scowl appeared as she heard shouting behind her, knowing well that they were getting closer to her. She wasn't quite sure who exactly was after her but she did know that she had no intention of getting caught by them. Katano knew she would already be in hot water for letting it get this far so she was determined not to screw it up more than she already had. "Pitohui, stop!" One of the voices rang out as she moved through an alleyway. It sounded familiar but with everything else on her mind she couldn't quite connect who it belonged to. Her time as a pro hero led her to meeting many people but none of that was important right then.

It was like he had been waiting for her. She passed it off as him being paranoid about what he had done but regardless, she had been caught off guard. The moment she entered the apartment he was on her and she hadn't been quite quick enough to move out of the way. A knife had slashed into the exposed skin of her forearm but at the moment she couldn't feel the pain from that. Her adrenaline was keeping her mind off that. She had only struggled for a few seconds before managing to turn the tables and having him pinned on the ground. It all seemed to happen so quickly that there hadn't been any time to process exactly what was going on. But the knife ended up in her hand and then he was dead. Blood splattered, covering her as she pulled it out and buried it back into his chest. And she didn't linger on top of him for long, moving quickly about the small space to try and find the money or any sign that it had been there. She had been interrupted by the sound of sirens getting close and she couldn't waste more time there. Police were easy enough to shake off but as soon as they caught sight of her, heroes would be called in to assist. The black and red wings made it easy to figure out who she was and there was no doubt that they would love to have her locked up for the rest of time.

It took her a moment to realize where she was. The streets started to look familiar and she knew down one of the alleys there would be a wall she could get over and then the space cleared out a bit more so she could take off flying. Katano was confident that the cops and pros were far enough away from her that she would be able to make it without any issues. She turned a corner and slowed her pace for a moment to quickly think over her next actions. But before she could move again, she felt someone quickly grab her hair and the part of one of her wings to pull her back. The action knocked her off balance and she fell back into the other, nearly screaming at the pain she felt. The door she had been pulled through closed quickly but quietly and for the moment they were in darkness she moved to grab one of the darts that sat strapped to her leg. In the same movement, a hand was placed over her mouth and a knife found its place against her throat. "I wouldn't try to do anything if I were you, Pit." The man said, pushing the blade harder against her skin. A dim light finally came on but she couldn't see another person in the abandoned building they were in. But she was confident that it wasn't just the two of them; she could hear the other moving around in the shadows.

The dart in her hand fell to the ground and she moved her hands away from the weapons. She wasn't a fool and she wasn't in a good position to try and fight at the moment. Not with a blade already in a dangerous place. Her eyes moved about some more before finally glancing down at the arms of the person holding her tightly in place. She froze up for a moment, realizing exactly who it was. A silence continued to wash over them, she heard the police run past the door and then nothing else. Everything had happened so quickly that she wouldn't have been surprised if they didn't even know what happened. "I thought we could have a chat. I had a feeling you would come down this way. It's the best place for you to take off without issue." He told her, chuckling. Once the last word left his mouth, his grip over her mouth and knife were moved so she could stand on her own. Her hand came up to rub at her neck as she moved away, turning to face him with a scowl.

"Dabi…" She mused, raising an eyebrow. "Never really thought I'd have the chance to meet you. Who do you have with you? Toga?" The light steps and faint giggle that gave it away but she was sure that the other girl thought she was being silent. The panic she had felt moments before had melted away and now she was feeling more confident, even a little unsure if that was the right move. A sigh left her lips and she eventually glanced down at her arm as the pain slowly started to come back. Dabi watched her and she was a bit unsettled, unsure of what was happening at the moment. "What on earth could the league want with me? Or is this a personal visit?" A grin appeared on his lips and he shrugged slightly.

"Yeah, Toga is over in the corner. She practically begged to come along." Katano looked over into the nearest corner, just in time to the girl poke her head up over some boxes. There was pout on her face as Dabi sold her out but she stayed put. "I guess the rumors are true about you. I didn't think your hearing would be that good." She nodded slightly, rolling her eyes. There was no doubt that she wanted to get out of there but she wasn't going to provoke either of them and potentially get herself killed over one small move. Her options were limited at the moment since there was no clear exit and she was well aware that Dabi wasn't one to mess with. He'd burn the building down without a second thought.

Eventually a laugh left her lips and she moved her gaze back to him. "They're not rumors, I suppose. All sorts of information about my quirk are all over the internet. I guess being a pro lends itself to that." Katano shrugged, well aware that he hadn't answered her second question. "But that all depends on whether or not you want to spend your time looking through all that." Orange eyes wandered back over to Toga, now sitting on a container and swinging her legs, curious if the toxic blood in her veins would harm the girl or if she would actually be able to make it work. "I suppose now that the cops are off my back I'm not in any rush. But that being said, get to the point. I don't want to waste my whole night in an abandoned building with the two of you." The annoyed growl from Dabi brought her attention back to him and she grinned a bit. It was a dangerous line to walk while pissing him off but she could help but push the limit now. Playing games did always keep things entertaining after all.

"You're getting on my nerves." He spit out as he moved closer to her. The look in his eyes made her realize that he wasn't amused with the game that she was playing but it didn't shake her. A deep breath left her lips and she eventually rolled her eyes.

"Then get out with it, darling. You're getting impatient and I don't have all night." As she finished speaking, she heard the rustle of his jacket and she darted to the side and up. Blue flames licked the tips of her wings as she moved, a grunt escaping past her lips. Katano looked down at Dabi, holding her place in the air above him, and watched as the flames disappeared. She knew if she had been a second slower she wouldn't have been able to dodge the blast as narrowly as she had. Another giggle from Toga got under her skin but she didn't look towards the girl. "There would be hell to pay if you damaged my wings. They take far too long to heal." She snapped, moving herself back to the ground. They were already a bit sore from where he had grabbed her and pulled her in. She didn't want to deal with them being burnt.

"Do you think that is something I could possibly ever care about?" Dabi asked as her feet finally touched back on to the ground. She shrugged, brushing a white piece of hair out of her face. No verbal answer followed since she was well aware that it was a rhetorical question. He eyed her for a moment, fist clenching tightly. "You're too cocky, you know that? I don't know why Shigaraki has his eyes set towards you at the moment." Toga, still seated where she had been, spoke up with a grin on her face.

"You know why, Dabi! Stop getting so upset about everything!" She hopped off the container she was on and made her way over to the two of them. Katano still had a hard time trying to wrap her mind around the fact that someone as young as Toga was unhinged as she was. There was a bright grin on her lips, that getting more under skin than the quick fuse that Dabi had. "We've heard good things about you! You would be a good asset to our team. You were a pro hero before right? So you have a lot of valuable information too." She said happily as she turned to fully face her. Katano blinked and was silent, repeating what she had said in her head a few times. For the most part she was content with what she was doing now but the idea of joining the league had never crossed her mind. It wasn't like it was something that she could go out of her way to do. So it wasn't something that she decided to think about.

Seeing the reaction on her face, Dabi chuckled and flashed her a grin. "You'll have until tomorrow night to make a decision. Shigaraki wants to talk so if you're interested, meet back here tomorrow night. Ten o'clock. Got it?" He didn't wait for an answer from her before he turned and made his way to the door. Toga lingered in her spot for only another moment before she took off towards Dabi. Once she was alone, Katano let out a deep breath she didn't realize that she had been holding. It wasn't every day something like this happened and she was unsure what to think. But she didn't want to stay there forever. Without a second thought, she left and took off into the sky.
