That stupid shittyhair. The fuck does he think he's doing, going around saying shit like that. Bakugou rolled over in bed, covering the same blush he's had since earlier in the afternoon. He kicked at his covers as he tried to take a nap, but thoughts of the class kept him from doing so. He had gained a lot of composure and ability to control his anger at his four years at UA, but he lost almost all of it this afternoon.
"What about you, Kiri?" Mina turned her attention to the redhead. The small group of girls and Kirishima were having a typical conversation about guys. "Do you like anyone?" She grined and Kirishima shrugged.
"Oh, yeah, I um- I like." Kirishima wasn't even blushing as he admitted it. It had drawn Bakugou's attention, and he was explicitly trying not to listen in. But when that boy talked, Bakugou couldn't help but pay attention. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see how confident and relaxed Kirishima was, which took Bakugou by surprise. He was usually kinda shy about these things. "Bakugou," He finished his sentence, and everyone heard it.
Bakugou's face lit up like the idiot's hair. He could hear a few of the guys, mostly Sero and Kami laughing behind him, but Bakugou was focused on that dumbass four seats away from him. "I'm serious guys," He said rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to calm his friends, both the screaming girls and the laughing dudes. "I've liked him for years."
At that Bakugou lost it. There was no way Kirishima was being serious. Bakugou jumped up out of his desk and with a surprising amount of calm, he grabbed Kirishima by the collar and growled. "What the fuck did you just say!"
"Bakugou, if you do not sit down right now." Aizawa cut in like he just realized what was going on. He was probably napping, even after four years with the same class he still spent so much of it napping. Bakugou just huffed one last time and sat back down. He could no longer look at the shocked and blushing face of that shitty hair anyways. Bakugou crossed his arms and tuned out everyone until the class was released and he could go back to his room to nap.
Except he still could not nap. After another ten minutes, he sighed and got up. Kirishima was just messing with me. He decided. Bakugo had come out as gay last year, more like someone finally bothered to ask and he wasn't going to hide. That had to be it, Kirishima was just messing with him about him being gay, it was delayed but the boy wasn't exactly a genius. The fuming blonde went to his desk and began to study. He would have to catch up on whatever he tuned out earlier after all, graduation was coming up and he'd be damned if he let his grade slip now over some stupid comment.
And that would have been that if Kirishma had left it alone. Sure, the next few days were normal. Friday was when Kirishima seemed to try again though. It was right before lunch and the red boy threw his arm around Bakugou's shoulders as they walked towards the cafeteria. Katsuki didn't bother to throw him off, Kirishima would just find another way to touch him, and as much as he hated to admit it, Katsuki liked when Kirishima touched him and it wasn't exactly a new thing.
"What do you want, Hair-for-Brains?" He grumbled and unconsciously slowed his pace.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go for a hike this weekend." Bakugou looked over at the toothy grin Kirishima was giving him.
"We're not allowed off the grounds except for our internships" he grumbled. A hike sounded nice. He missed hiking, it was perfect weather for it. He hadn't gotten to use his new camera much yet either.
"It's not like it's the first time either of us has snuck off the grounds." Kirishima sounded like he was ready for the reply "And I'm sure I can convince the others to cover for us." Bakugou sighed.
"Alright, shit hair." He said "But I start early, so you better not oversleep." He strictly added. Kirishima just nodded as they arrived at the cafeteria and worked out the details.
The two went and got their food. Bakugou watched as Kirishima sat down first with Mina and Sero, both instantly bombarding him with questions. Bakugou's eyes scrunched together as he tried to hear them, he even turned up his hearing aid, but that didn't help. It just made his head hurt so he quickly turned it back down. After all that, and all he got him was Kiri looking up at him and smiling every few seconds. He groaned and took his place across from the shit hair.
"Why are you staring at me?" Bakugou grumbled after a long ten minutes of Kirishima missing his mouth or forgetting to move his spoon altogether as he watched the blonde.
"You look really nice today." He smiled that toothy grin and Bakugou just got up and left. A blush already forming on his cheeks.
Bakugou had finally regained his angry, unblushing, look when it was time to get ready for hero training. He made sure he was first in the locker room and out before anyone else had even entered. Whatever game Kirishima was playing at, he didn't want to deal with it right now. Not during training.
"Alright, kids." All Might's voice was weak in this state, but he was no doubt still the teacher he was previously. "Time to pair up. We'll be sparing. The pairs are as follows:" All Might listed the pairs and Bakugou was actually relieved when he paired him with a round face.
"A re-match, huh?" She actually looked cute when she was determined. Sometimes Bakugou wished she wasn't so damn close to that nerd, she'd be a good friend. Katsuki shook his head, what the hell was he thinking? Deku would probably kill him if he even talked to his girlfriend.
"Tch," Bakugou crossed his arms and turned away from her. Out of the corner of his eye he could see her small pout. "As long as you give it your all again," He added, earning her smile back. The two of them had spared often over the years, it was always a pleasure. Bakugou was no longer the only one who could see her as more than just a weak girl, but he could still tell she pushed herself more when sparing with him, and he loved that.
"Don't worry, I always give my all!" Uraraka put her hands on her hips and smirked.
When it was their turn to spar, neither of them hesitated. This time though, it was quickly apparent Uraraka was relying on her skills and not her quirk. This forced Bakugou to push his quirk to the background as well, to keep up with her martial arts. He got in a quick blast to her side though, which threw her across the floor. Bakugou watched her smirk as he began to float. She was waiting.
"ROUND FACE!" He yelled, "GET ME DOWN FROM HERE." He knew if he used his quirk wrong while in zero gravity, he would just end up hurting himself. She just shrugged and released him. He began to fall and waited for the right moment to use his quirk to land a blow in.
"COME ON BAKU-BRO!" Kirishima yelled, Bakugou looked, glaring at the boy. It threw him off enough though that Uraraka landed a kick to his stomach and knocked him out of bounds.
Bakugou rubbed his head from where it hit the wall. Did he just lose to fucking Round face? "I'm sure you'll get her next time," Bakugou looked up to see Kirishima holding his hand out to him, his supportive grin covering his face.
"I would have won this time if your stupid face hadn't yelled at me!" Bakugou smacked his hand away and stood up. He forced himself to find a seat and not storm out of the room. He had lost enough control this week already, but even still his face flushed as that nerd and his girlfriend celebrated her fucking victory.
Bakugou refused to even look at Kirishima. He knew he shouldn't have blamed his loss on him, but goddammit, he couldn't help but look when he yelled. He couldn't stop focusing on him at every chance he could get. He would never admit it, but it woudln't have made a damn difference if Kirishima whispered his support, because Bakugou was always tuned into him; hearing loss or not.
After hero training, Bakugou skipped dinner and went straight to his room. He ate some of the food he stashed and worked on homework. As he finished most of it, there was a knock on his dorm room door. He got up and opened it to Kirishima holding a plate of food.
"Hey, bro" He tried to smile, but he couldn't quite do it. "I thought you might want some food," Bakugou looked at the boy for a moment. He was shirtless with his red gym shorts holding a plate of hot food and rubbing the back of his head. Bakugou slammed the door.
"Oh, come on dude," Kirishima yelled "I'm sorry I messed with your match today. If that's what you're mad about." Katsuki didn't know if that was what he was mad about. It's what he told himself he was mad about. He groaned and opened the door, taking the food, and slamming it back again. That seemed to be enough for Kirishima though because he left.
Bakugou sat at his desk and looked at the plate and laughed. Actually laughed. That idiot just piled as much spicy food as he could onto his plate. Nothing to go with it, nothing else, just spice, but he would eat it all for him.
