My first fanfic, don't expect anything HQ, Im just writing something that has been on my mind lately about how their reunion would be after Subaru went through some very complicated misadventures in Vollachia
It was a special day in the new Mathers mansion, Emilia and her camp members were able to get some sparse information on Subaru's adventure in Vollachia. They heard about how he was first captured when he got there and how he overcame that situation by joining with a tribe called Shudrak, how he helped a man called Vincent to take back the vollachian throne and how during everywhere he went he was accompanied by a blue haired maid. To say they were amazed would be an understatement, they knew their friend could do some very incredible things, but to survive in a opposing country, especially a very harsh one like Vollachia and somehow get involved in its political intrigue since day one. Furthermore, to actually make the difference there was beyond anyone expectations, to tell the truth Emilia expected to have to rescue Subaru and not receive him like a hero once again.
They were very excited, Emilia asked Roswaal to make plenty of preparations for a party to welcome their returning members because they received a letter a few days ago from Subaru himself talking about his soon to come triumphant return. Everyone was excited to see Subaru again after almost a year and to finally meet with Rem. Ram's memories are finally starting to come back, but it's being so slow that she remembers almost nothing about her dear sister and the others haven't remembered anything yet, but she is certain that they will.
Roswaal's absence is partially due to his efforts to convince all nobles in his territory to support Emilia, but mostly because the majority of his camp did not want him present in such an important occasion.
"Our guests are late, are you sure they will get here in time?" said Emilia looking at Ram with worried eyes, she had invited some of their friends from Crusch's faction and Felt's faction for this event, Anastasia as well as Julius were occupied and well they had no news of Priscilla's faction for a while now.
" Do not worry Lady Emilia I doubt our guests would miss such an event." Just as Ram finished saying those words the door opened and the green haired duchess Crusch, the living sword Wilhelm, the blue healer Felix and brightest flame Reinhard could be seen being guided by Frederica into the mansion.
"Sorry for the delay, we had some minor inconveniences along the road" said Crusch to Emilia to apologize for being late for such an important event.
"Don't worry Crusch-sama, we still have around an hour until Subaru's arrival" said Emilia with a relieved smile "now all that's left is for Subaru himself to get here."
"Lady Emilia I'm here in Felt-sama's name, sadly she won't be able to be here since she is currently occupied with pressing matters."
"I- I understand, it's a shame that she won't be here for the reunion party, but I'm sure she wished she could be here."
"Yes she surely wanted to be here, I'm sorry."
" There he goes nya, I knew he wouldn't be able to hold it. Always saying you are sorry, could you not keep a promise once nyah?" Asks an annoyed Felix.
"I'm sorry for breaking my promise Felix."
"JUST STOP SAYING YOU'RE SORRY NYA!"
As the people in the room were giggling at the funny exchange that was going on, the young maid from the Mathers mansion walked through the main door with an excited expression.
"LADY.. Lady Emilia I've seen a carriage in the distance approaching the mansion, a very fancy one actually." said Petra barely able to control her emotions.
Beatrice's eyes widened, she could feel Subaru's presence getting closer, her excitement was almost making her run through the door screaming his name. However she would never do that, at least not in front of so many people. She would make him compensate for it later by patting her head, hugging and feeding her groceries.
"Oh, they seem to have arrived earlier than expected." said Frederica while hitting her younger brother in the back of the head to punish him for stealing snacks from the table.
As the carriage approached the entrance of the mansion, Subaru could see the members of his camp plus a few of his acquaintances from other camps as well lining themselves to receive him, his sweat was running cold.
"How will they react once I tell them all that happened in Vollachia?" Thoughts like these were burning through his mind getting him more and more anxious.
"That's a very fancy carriage, way too fancy, I know that Barusu did help the emperor but that's a little exaggerated for a dog like him, isn't it? Said Ram while squinting her eyes, looking at the extremely fancy carriage that had multiple gold engravings and jewels.
"That style does seem familiar." said Wilhelm, trying to remember why that carriage was strange to him.
"Maybe all Vollachian nobles are like that, giving a luxurious carriage to people with accolades, such as Natsuki-Sama." said Crusch hoping that this had nothing to do with a certain individual.
"That would mean they hold him in high regards, Crusch-sama." said Wilhelm with a happy tone.
"Or maybe they are just a bunch of show offs." spat felix remembering a certain orange haired woman.
As the carriage stopped and the door opened, A very familiar black haired boy could be seen opening the door, that would have been a perfect moment to welcome him back but they were all too shocked by the clothes he was wearing. He had a very expensive looking black military uniform with orange details, that had field medals on it, and to contrast with that he had black gloves with red details and a crimson red scarf that was covering both his mouth and nose.
A loli with drills on her hair was so proud of herself because she was behaving with dignity, and "totally" not shaking with excitement like a little kid, and "surely" not getting closer to the carriage little by little in the hopes no one would realise that she wanted to be the first to greet her contractor.
The boy immediately turned himself to help a blue haired woman with a very elegant cyan and black dress get out of the carriage as well. It would not be so shocking if the blue haired woman was not holding the hand of a blond girl.
"Anotha one? Dammit cap'n are you tryin' to build a "little" army?"
Emilia and Beatrice summoned ice shards and black arrows, while Ram raised her wand, seeing this Garfiel readied himself. Sensing the tension from their colleagues Willhelm and Reinhard brought their hands to their sword hilts.
"BARUSU WHY IS THAT THING NEAR MY SISTER?"
Turning themselves into a battle-ready stance the group stared at the girl. Subaru eyes widened and his mouth trembled a bit.
"Ca-calm down, she is harmless, trust me, she is not the same dangerous girl from the tower, I will explain it so please calm down!"
Rem brought Louis into a close embrace as if to protect her from these people.
"Natsuki-san aren't you taking your lolimancer title too seriously?! That girl is dangerous!" said a very worried Otto.
At those words Rem's eyes squinted at the direction of the green clad merchant and she wondered what he meant by this, after all Subaru always changed topics when she brought up Louis origin and identity.
"TRUST ME, I will explain it soon" said a pleading Subaru.
"Wow, you've been around for less than five minutes and you already made all this mess, good job! Things are never boring when you're around "daddy."' Said Meili accomplishing her intentions to add fuel to the commotion.
"What could you mongrels be possibly discussing that my failure of a HUSBAND would be more interested than helping his own WIFE leave her carriage?" Said the living sun itself with a very devious grin, satisfied with the shocked expressions directed at her.
As the mood changed completely and everyone was recovering from the shock of what they just heard, when a silver haired half-elf spoke.
"WHAT? What does this mean, what are you doing here?" she said with wet eyes.
"Oh shit, I- I can explain!" said the black haired boy with a very tired expression
As Priscilla's smile widened, she thought "ah, this will be very amusing."
