A/N: May The 4th Be With You! (Yes, i know I'm a day late) This is a multi part story that I've had in mental production ever since I saw the first episode of "The Mandalorian". When I saw the first episode, I wasn't quite sure of where the show fell in the Star Wars timeline. Now having seen season 1 and 2. I believe I have enough adequate knowledge of it, to publish my version of a fun little Who Would Win?
Silence. Sweet, blissful silence. The only luxury afforded to the dark lord of the sith.
In this dark chamber, was the only place he could have peace. The only place where he could be himself. Where he could be rid of the painful armor he wore everyday. It's needles injected directly to his nerve endings, simulating the limbs he had lost so tragically. But as he looked down upon himself, anger and frustration coursed through his veins. He was just a torso, with only stubs as supposed limbs. He yelled out angrily. But soon stopped as his throat burned violently, causing him to choke and cough, which only hurt more. Hot tears leaked from his eyes as he cried out in merciless pain.
He would die to have his old life back, he missed everything about it. His youthfully wonderful body, his seat on the counsel and his life as a Jedi. But more than that, he missed his friends… Rex, Obi Wan, Ahsoka...and Padme…. He felt like such a fool, for destroying everything. He realised that his anger, his greed, his ambition and his overconfidence led him to his downfall. He had it all…but he gave it all up. And for what?
To be trapped…. trapped by everything. Trapped by his physical state of weakness. His position. And his master. He realised that he had made an absolutely horrible mistake, one of which he could never correct. He was...the Chosen One, and he simply sold himself back into slavery. Enslaved by the one who dominated him, the one who had ultimate control over him. The Emperor, who could shut him down like the machine he was at anytime. It killed him inside, but there was nothing he could do about it. He was owned now by the Empire, as nothing more than a tool for destruction.
"Lord Vader, your presence is requested on the bridge." Said a British voice over the comlink. Vader growled lowly but he acknowledged the call and activated the armoring sequence. His robotic arms and legs were placed and connected to his limbs. He grunted, but gave it no more thought. His body was clothed in the fire resistant robes as his armor plating was installed. His helmet was lowered down as the face mask stabbed into his skull, he exclaimed out in the sudden burst of pain, but it quickly subsided. The back of the helmet was connected to the mask, completing the transformation.
He activated the holographic projector unit and the Emperor's hooded face appeared in the image. "Master…" Darth Vader bowed his head, "Lord Vader, I have experienced a disturbance in the force...a presence...similar to that of Jedi Grand-Master Yoda." Said Palpatine grimly. "What is thy bidding, my master?" Vader inquired. "You are to report to the planet, Avarla-7. There you will find for me whatever is emitting that presence and bring it to me, alive. And whatever dares stand in your way. Decimate It." "Your Wish is my command." Vader said, as the transmission ended.
He glided down the passageways to the launch bay. His menacing figure slowly striding with confidence and intimidation. His machine-like breathing echoing throughout the halls. Upon entering the bay, the stormtroopers and officers stood at attention and saluted. Vader rolled his eyes under his mask, 'These new Stormtroopers are pathetic. Why the Emperor decided to discontinue the Clone Troopers is a mystery to me till this day.' He thought to himself. "Commander Jacques." He called out. The commander jumped a bit, but quickly ushered himself over to Vader and saluted. He was visibly nervous. "You are to take Ground Trooper Squadron-4 and report to the forest section of Avarla-7, and acquire for me an asset." The commander quickly nodded, "Lord Vader, b-by any chance...d-do you know what w-we're looking for?" He stammered. Vader came closer to him, towering over him, then looking down. "That. Is what I'm sending you for. Are you competent enough to handle this mission, commander?" Jacques looked up at him saluting, "S-sir Yes S-s-sir!"
Vader continued staring at him. Jacques was overcome with panic as his mind filled with worries, 'This is Darth Vader? He's freakin' terrifying! Is he going to choke me?! I hear he chokes out officers on a regular day basis...just for fun! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!' "Commander." Vader stated. "Sir?" Jacques asked. "Cease your stuttering. It is not fit for a commanding officer of the Empire." Vader demanded. "Yes…*gulp* Sir." Jacques said as he made his way to his Star Destroyer. Stormtroopers followed him inside as the main doors were closed. The massive ship took off from the Death Star and flew about 2 miles from the massive planet. "Set your coordinates for Avarla-7!" Jacques commanded as the ship jumped to hyperspace.
After about a 10 minute flight, the captain of the ship spoke into his pager. "This is the captain speaking, we will be jumping out of hyperspace in roughly 30 seconds. Stand by for re-entry." The ship came to a sudden slow as it re-entered common flight space. Looking out of the bridge windshield, Avarla-7 orbited below, and it wasn't much of a sight. It was a desert planet, parched and dried. And yet, despite its dehydrated state, it had a beauty of its own. Surrounding the wrinkled, orangish brown surface, a blue haze outlined the planet. Giving the planet a modest pop, like makeup on a plainly faced woman.
The Star Destroyer was placed next to the ship, as the cargo bays opened up, a carrier shuttle escorted by two TIE Fighters descended to the planet below. The 3 ships landed on the surface, kicking up dust as the ground beneath them vibrated upon their landing. The shuttle folded up its wings and dropped its cargo door, as 4 Sandtroopers marched out. Their armor was dented and scratched from previous battles. Discolored and dirty in appearance, they looked battle ready. Their superior officer, dawning Shoretrooper armor with a shoulder pauldron representing his status. "Alright Troops, I want this area tooth and combed in a circular formation. If something is found, contact me immediately and then meet back here with the asset." Barked the officer to the troopers.
The troopers spent hours searching the area in about a 3 mile radius.
Trooper 1: "Arghhh! We're never gonna find anything! WHAT THE / *sss* / HELL ARE WE EVEN LOOKING FOR!?" He yelled, angrily throwing off his helmet.
Trooper 2: "I get it Jinx, I really do. But it is what it is." Said the other trooper calmly. "
Jinx: "Yeah, but c'mon Aeios...don't tell me you don't feel that this is hump work."
Aeios: "I would be lying if I said no… but you know damn well how much the Empire cares about us. You can't have an opinion here. Say the wrong thing, and you're dead. Now let's get back to work."
Jinx sighed frustratedly, but he put his helmet back on and got to work. Looking at his Midochlorian scanner (which resembled a metal detector) he walked forward. "You have anything yet?" Asked Aeios, "No...this stupid thing hasn't picked up any-...wait. I've got something!" Jinx started running forward as Jinx followed him closely. They ran into a ridge and then into a cave, following after the detection.
The radar began beeping loudly as they exited the cave. "This things going haywire! We've gotta be clo-OOOOF!" Jinx exclaimed as he slapstick style smacked into a wall. "What the hell?... Hey Aeios! Get over here!" Aeios came out running but suddenly stopped as the two stormtroopers looked at the object in front of them.
It was some sort of bunker, covered in sand and dust. "This...seems to be where it's indicating...let me contact the commanding officer." Jinx said as he pressed his wrist communicator. "TH-89, what is it you have to report?" Asked the officer. "Sir, our Midoclorian scanner has brought us to a remote bunker in the cliff rock." Jinx answered. "Begin searching inside. If you find the asset, contact me again, and we will fly to your position." The officer ordered. "Understood." Aeios said, as he hung up. Jinx placed a thermal detonator at the foot of the door, and then quickly ran for cover. "Boom!!!" The door flew off the hinges as Jinx and Aeios drew their E-11 blasters.
Turning on their blaster's flashlights, they entered the bunker. It was extremely dark as dust rained down in the light of their blasters. "There seems to be multiple rooms...split up." Said Aeios. Jinx signaled his aggreanance as he went the opposite way. Stepping with caution at all turns, he tried looking at all angles but found it was in vain. Suddenly, He heard the snap of a branch behind him. "Wha-Wha!" He exclaimed as he turned around quickly, but there was nothing there. 'Oh no...This is the part of the movie where the Rodian turns around and there's some sort of creature behind him, ready to kill.' He nervously thought to himself as he quickly turned with his finger ready to pull the trigger. He turned back around so quickly that he tripped and fell, firing the blaster. He quickly got up but to his relief, nothing was there.
'I'm such a clutz.' He thought to himself as he picked up his blaster. When looking up, something caught his eye. It was shiny and glistening in the blaster's flashlight. He walked towards it, and uncovered the tarp over it. It appeared to be a metal sphere. "What the hell is this thing?" He asked out loud and looked around it, it had 3 green buttons glowing in the darkness. He pressed the first one, and the sphere stopped floating as it fell, and hit the ground with a thud. He nervously pressed the button again, and the sphere began hovering once more. He then pressed the second. It seemingly did nothing. "I swear...I hope this thing isn't a bomb." He whined as he hesitantly pressed the last button.
There was a sudden whoosh from the sphere. Jinx jumped back expecting an explosion. But instead, he saw something completely different. A small, green, wrinkly little head rose from the sphere. "Huh?" He shined his flashlight on it. It had big ears and big eyes. It was definitely non-human. Any moron could tell you that. "What are you?" He asked, softening his voice. "Wait a minute...your the Midoclorian source I'm looking for...aren't you?" It looked at him and cooed. He couldn't help but feel compassion for the little creature. But he did have orders that he needed to follow. He pressed his wrist communicator, "Aeios, I think I've found something." "What is it?" Aeios asked, "It...looks like some sort of pet. My scanner's going crazy." Jinx responded.
"Alright, meet me outside of the bunker." Aeios said. "Ok, I'll do- *snap* ...what was that?" Jinx said as he turned around, shining his flashlight. The last thing he saw the glistening of silver, and then. *Thwack!!!*. Aeios spoke into his wrist communicator, but he got no response. He rushed around the bunker with his blaster ready to fire. "Jinx, where are you?!" He yelled in the dark. Suddenly, a blaster shot was fired, knocking his E-11 out of his hand. He panicked and yelled into his wrist communicator, "SIR! THIS IS GK-92! WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! WE NEED ASSISTANCE! I REPEAT, WE NEED ASSISTANCE!" There was suddenly a loud sound in the air as he was knocked unconscious.
The Imperial shuttle and the two TIE Fighters took off and flew to the stormtrooper's homing beacons. After 2 minutes of intense desert flying, the 3 ships landed. The remaining two Sandtroopers, the shock trooper, the pilots and the commanding officer drew their blasters while running to the bunker. The sand troopers were in front, their E-11 blasters aimed at the bunker door. The commanding officer adjusted his helmet to 'Bullhorn' setting and spoke. "This is Officer ReLeng of the Imperial Ground Squadron-4, you are in direct obligation of Imperial business. Come out with your hands...or tentacles or whatever the hell you have in the air!" There was an eerie silence with only the desert breeze in the distance as noise. *PREW!!! PREW!!! PREW!!!* 3 Blaster shots rang out of the bunker and hit one of the Sandtroopers in the chest.
Blaster fire was returned from the other Sandtrooper and the pilots. Lighting up the bunker in green blaster bolts, they repeatedly continued to fire until their blasters overheated. They released the air valves as they cooled down their blasters. But more shots rang out from the cave, killing one of the pilots and hitting the sandtrooper in the arm. The Shock trooper threw a firebomb into the bunker and ran, but the firebomb quickly flew out, landing at the trooper's feet. *BOOM!!!* It exploded, killing the other pilot and Sandtrooper. The Shock Trooper and the officer were injured. They laid on the floor, the Shock trooper was missing a chunk of his helmet, leaving the right side of his face visible. Cut and bruised, his face caked with blood and dirt. He felt himself being lifted up from behind, and was then dropped on his back. Looking up, it was a dark figure, silhouetted by the bright sunlight. He was clutching a small hand blaster. The Shock Trooper grabbed an E-11 laying on the ground next to him and quickly aimed. It was the last thing he ever did.
The commanding officer woke up when hearing the blaster bolt, he looked over as he saw the shock trooper fall to the floor, dead. He quickly stood up and grabbed his patrol pistol. *PREW!!!* He felt such a horrible pain, as his right arm had a melting hot hole in it. He could look at it from one side and see through the other. "ARRRGH!" He yelled as the pistol flew out of his hand. He turned around and attempted to run to the shuttle. Zigzagging from left to right, trying to dodge non-existent blaster fire. As he neared the shuttle, only a few feet away. A large blue blaster shot zipped past him and made contact with the shuttle's fuel tanks. The ship blew apart in a massive explosion, knocking him back to the floor again. His chest armor was split open and his helmet flew off.
He tasted blood and sand in his mouth as he spit it out. Struggling to get up, he turned around to face his opponent. Of which to his surprise was right behind him, holding a long blaster rifle. He lunged at the figure with a knife in his hand. But the figure quickly pulled a pistol and shot him.
"Unghhh." Jinx groaned as he laid on the floor, his plastoid armor feeling like the weight of the world as he struggled to get up. He didn't know if it was his helmet. But his head felt like it weighed a ton. He stumbled around in the dark as he looked around, he did not see the creature, or his partner. "Aeios!" He called, "Where are you?!" He made his way around the bunker, constantly bumping into random objects lying around everywhere. He then tripped over something, falling to the floor with a loud bang. "Goddamn this hell hole of a mission!" He said angrily as he slammed his fist against the floor. "Owww…my head…" Said a voice, weakly. "Aeios?" Jinx asked. "Yeah? ...jinx?" Aeios asked. "Yeah, it's me, man. Let's get out of here."
Jinx picked Aeios up by the arm and they both walked out of the bunker and through the cave. "Wait...it could be my lenses, but is that smoke?" Asked Aeios, "What the?..." Jinx exclaimed as he took off his helmet, seeing the smoke clearly. It became thicker as they exited the cave. "NO!" They both yelled, as they saw the shuttle. Or at least, what was the shuttle. Now it was in fiery pieces laying all around. "I'm gonna kill whoever did this!" Aeios yelled, angrily. "Are you sure about that?" Asked a lowly toned voice from behind them. They turned around to see a caped figure. He was clothed from head to toe in silver armor, his helmet with a black T shaped visor. The signature design of a Mandalorian. "You Bastard! I'll kill you for this!!" Aeios yelled as he charged at the Mandalorian, his fists balled. The Mando simply shrugged to the side and hit the back of his head, sending him to the ground.
Jinx picked up a metal panel and charged at the Mando, swinging it at him and hitting him in the head. The metal panel clanged loudly against the opponent's steel helmet. The Mandalorian turned around and drop-kicked him in the chest, sending him flying back to the sandy ground. Jinx felt weak, as he had previously taken a blow to the head back in the cave. He knew he was about to die, so he might as well go out like a soldier. He turned around to face the Mandalorian for the last time. But to Jinx's surprise, the Mandalorian didn't have a gun extended to his face, it was his hand. He did a double take to make sure he wasn't hallucinating, but he wasn't.
He grabbed the Mando's hand as he picked him up from the ground. "So...what...are you going to kill me then?" Aeios asked, with a grim expression on his face. The Mandalorian simply said, "No." "Sure. You're totally not gonna shoot us like you did all of them." Jinx said sarcastically. "I won't...if you don't try to act brave." Jinx thought for a moment, but then answered, "I can't let you harm the creature. It's Imperial property now, and I won't let you damage it." The mandalorian looked at him. Jinx expected him to pull his gun and shoot him, but instead he said, "That's sweet. But I'm not here to harm the child. I'm here to protect it."
A/N: Ok, that's chapter 1. I realised that I wouldn't be able to contain this all in one chapter. This will mostly likely go for 4 chapters, or maybe a little longer, who knows? Anyway, please let me know what you guys think and leave a review. I enjoy reading the reviews. Chapter 2 coming soon.
